I've watched a few vids on this process and trying to locate the good spot on Bessel III-B. I gave up too soon before, but your instructions were particularly helpful. I got to the correct spot and build that outpost! YAY!
@@LeeroyGaming Awesome. Thank you and I'll check it your followup. Haven't been able to upgrade my weapons or anything because I didn't have enough resources.
For us beginner dummies, I suggest telling us how to move around while in the overhead view mode. I could not figure it out at first, until I poked around and realized that it was simply by using the WASD keys. Otherwise, your instruction was by far the best help that I've seen on the subject. It actually inspired me to give it a try and I can happily report that I now have my first working outpost! Excellent video instruction!!!

Yes we could all more than likely work it all out, but shoot who wants the agro let alone the wasted hours trying to work through that lot.? You have given the community the basic model to work with. Have found it To be honest, I don't care whether you are the original creator of this video or whether it is your original idea to make it You simply explain it best from the videos I've seen and I thank you for that
God bless you! I had relatively specific instructions from a different video but I was in a platinum variation and he didn't mention anything about it, so I kept running around for hours and wanted to cry! Using your video I find it within 10 minutes. Thank you!
With out doubt the best explanation yet. I have seen a few videos showing this location with all 5 mats but none tell you exactly where you need to go. They just say "go to the dark mountain". Thank you for the explanation and I will be subbing to your channel. Keep up the good work and keep producing videos to this standard
Thank you. It is quite a pain to find if you don’t know exactly what to do. I know it frustrates a lot of people so I thought this would help. It is nice to hear that people are finding it useful. Check out my new build video from today. The 100% self sufficient setup takes this starter location to the next level. Was a ton of work to work out the kinks (cargo link setups can be veryyyy buggy) but I got it fully operational and it’s glorious to behold/enjoy.
Wonderful, there is another video where they have 6 resources in one spot.. but nobody can give you such a specific location for it.. this one I was able to find with the 5 resources and built exactly as you've shown.. much appreciated
You explained finding the spot so much better than everybody else! I might actually see success tonight! I spent 2 hours last night on platinum versions!!!! I finally gave up thinking it was just because I play on console!
Great Video. I ended up finding the Platinium site first so I just setup there. I was going to add an iron only outpost and link them, but it won't let me build a second outpost. I know it caps at 8, but i only have 1. Is there a planet number restriction??? Thanks again!!
You shuod be able to buy abandoned outposts from the questline or uc or FC and it whoud be greath if we all choud install a ships reactor into the outposts base itself. Send idea to bezhezda please. Thx
@@LeeroyGamingcould we get a surface map location with some surrounding landmarks please, been at it 2 days and no luck.. I have a bunch of landing markers all over top
@BloodSilo good idea. I can't find this location and can't put down any more landing sites because I can't get rid of the one I have there that's in the wrong spot but covering the correct spot.
I tried a number of vids, including the one from Vash. Couldn’t pinpoint the location. Leeroy’s video however shows the structure, to the left, the crane like steel work. When you land, use your scanner to locate structures. Find that one and work your way back, keeping the black mountain on your left.
the solar wire connections are not used for that. you can put in a power switch between the solar arrays and whatever you want powered. so say its copper extractors and you dont use a lot of copper you can turn off the power to the copper extractors using the switch and the power will be supplied to other parts of your outpost. try it. it makes managing an outpost so much easier. especially if you are only going to grab cetrain matierals at a time, not only that but you actually need less power generation.
I've tried everything and I can not raise the landing pad out of the ground. Delete it and try a new one and it's still sunk deep in the ground. I've tried D Wheel, triggers, w/s moves my view toward the landing pad and away from it. I am so damn frustrated. Is there something I need to reset? Throw against the wall or stomp on?
I'm on Xbox, not sure if that makes a difference or not, but each time I landed, it would leave a landing marker, making it hard to pinpoint where the exact location needed to be. Then after landing 6 different locations, I seemed to always end up near a abandoned outpost. Had 5 different materials at one time, but never any aluminum. Water, Iron, Cobalt, Nickel, and Platinum. Plus every time I landed there, no matter the time of day, it was always dark outside, making it hard to see the mountains. Then the freezing cold fog, or major Lightning/Thunder storm I was in didn't help either. So, I thought I go back to New Atlantis, and now see that after the last update, the chests are all gone, that were underground, even the one by the Spaceport. I only did it one other time, and figured I would maybe do well again, but won't have to worry about that glitch any more.
@@LeeroyGaming I'm having the same issue. It's the correct spot but there is a POI and the aluminum is in the restricted area so it's impossible to get. Even if you save before and reload that POI is always there.
It’s a Dark gray mountain, it’s very clear if you arrive during daylight. At night it’s harder to notice. It should stand out like a sore thumb if you land in the right location. If you don’t see the coloration as seen in my video then you landed in the wrong spot. Yes it can be a bit frustrating, youl smack your head at how obvious it is once you actually find it.

That will be the more advanced video I’ll be making. This one already shows extraction of minerals but I’m assuming you mean the more advanced management of minerals.
I have no played on Xbox but I’d be shocked if they had different terrain features. Darker mountains can also pop up on a few different maps. One is almost identical to this setup but you get titanium instead of cobalt. You may actually find it by accident while looking for this one. In either ways I had to run a little bit to get to the correct area (as shown in the video), so they are never immediately where you land in my experience.
yes, but they are the same for everyone. its not procedurally generally "as you go" . there are ~1000 random planets which do not differ game to game, plus the few unique locations for quests.
Thanks this really helped with a good starting outpost, just get your feet wet. I hope you do get a chance to do a more in depth video. i would like to know more about the inter-system resource transfer.
The alternative is to find mods that just let ya mine all kinds of resources and say F it to finding these "precise" places. Ive had justa bout enough of outposts in starfield.
I know how to get 6 to 7 resources on an 8 resources planet. It's the crew member to put on the planet to manage it. The extra crew skill is last on emotional list 😢😢😢😂😂. I want Lin and Keller to manage them. But no crew space even with a 9 crew ship. All I can do is give them a ride. Plus I am still learning how to build a ship with cargo that can fly pass 60 😅😅😅. Why start a 6 resources outpost with no management? But once I learn, I am going to have every system 8 planet resources producing 5 and up resources outpost. I am. So spoiled about finding 5 to 6. Anything under 5 is a bad spot 😂😂😂😂! I just need to learn the ending!

no iron anywhere, what gives, I get everything else?
Why are you placing your extractors on the edge of the desired resource instead of in the middle?
A way to make finding it easier is to bring up the overhead map that shows the Landing Site and the Unknown sites.
