I have been comparing also. After reading the rep. from gdrv, it seems they are playing catch up with Alliance. Even though Alliance is new the owners are not new at rv manufacturer. They have the best type of toy tye downs, 12 volt systems, no carpeting, and quiet AC system. I met a couple in Casa Grande, Arizona that had a warranty issue and it was taken care of by a local repair shop, that was paid promptly by Alliance. The only thing I would change is to have a glow step to the toy area for easy access in tight spaces, storage, curbside, and over night parking lot stays.
Wow Alliance has to be putting every other manufacture on edge. I really think my next 5th wheel will be an Alliance especially with the lithium batteries being standard what a upgrade. It really seems Alliance listened to what people wanted and built it.
Great RV tour! We own our new rig and yet we still go, "RV shopping." We don't want anything else but we still enjoy seeing what's out there and getting ideas.
That sound dangerous! Lol! We've been waiting two years for the right one, something does it for me about this one. Gonna spend some $ if you keep watching these! 😂 Pretty excited about this trailer, this really may be the one. I'll remember and remind myself to drive it home and not shop anymore afterwards. 🤣
We are literally coming back from a rv sales dealership comparing the 395ms that we are thinking about buying and the alliance Valor. (We are looking into the 42v13). We have to wait to see the Valor until next week. Thanks so much for this video.
One thing I spoke to the Valor guys while at the show was that they should have made the outdoor kitchen out of aluminum/ weather proof. We have the same little fridge on our TT and condensation will make the wood under it sweat. They took it as a great idea and told me they would take it to their design team. All outdoor kitchens on any RV should be weather proof.
After talking with you at the Grand Design booth at the show, we went and toured the 40v13. It really is an amazing toy hauler. Everything the 395ms has except the dinette. And way more storage. Thanks for the video!!
Awesome video guys thanks so much for your honesty. Just ordered a brand new Valor 36V11. We were going to get a momentum but came across the Alliance and realize it was better all around for value and quality. Can’t wait until June when we get to see one in the flesh. Yes we haven’t even seen one yet.
After our year of research for our RV, it came down to GD and KZ. Our choice, we did not need a toy hauler but loved the patio. We went with the KZ382 MBQ as it gave us much more living space and the patio. Love your videos and honesty, we still look also.
Our new rig will be 112sqft...our last rig was 59sqft😜🤣😂👍🇨🇦👫we already miss our last rig and feel a bit intimidated to be getting something double in size😬what about the uturns.. we seem to make more uturns than anticipated😒🤣🤩😉🥸😎🤓our new 19ft(16ftbox) will be 2400lb dry, so we had to buy a bigger suv.(towload 5000lb), but our custom designed(my own layout, no junk drawer for hubby - but his own junk cupboard🤗) will have a 4yr warranty, which is nice! Hopefully the USA/Canada border opens up and we can join a "Switchitup" campout!!!
Every rv reviewer I have watched love alliance 5th wheels and I am surprised you took the time to post today I thought you would be busy with the super bowl
I will give you a secret... I shot this like 3 weeks ago and I hit the easy button so we could watch the game.. bahahahaha... the video I was working on started laughing and didn't want to hurry it so we will probably upload it on Tuesday...
I've come across a lot of videos on this model, everyone seems to sell me the alliance brand more and more. Our first 5th is definitely going to be this one. We've looked at the voltage, momentum, grand design, attitude, and any and everything else out there. Two years of looking and waiting for the right one. Seems to be lot of happy customers, this layout is amazing. My wife and I think this could really be it. I think it time, I think just before Christmas, were pulling the trigger. Maybe a bit sooner. Thanks for being honest, and giving yet another perspective from your real world view. We plan to use the tineco s12 for vacuum duty. Also a great unit for these, crazy power, and very lightweight. Like a Dyson, same, but different. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. I hope this is the case with this $150k trailer! 😂
Thank you, my lady and i are in the market. We have a deposit on a 395MS, but are now highly considering a switch to Alliance. The central vac being gone is great and the W/D in the back option is huge.
I love watching you guys. Todd’s since of humor and laughter is so genuine. And Sheila gives some great looks but always goes along with the program (especially the propane fiasco). You have become my favorite you tubers. We just sold our house and will be full time within 6mos. Hopefully we learn from some of your mistakes and I love that you show the mistakes, it is all not some fantasy land we will be entering but a constant set of problems. All still worth it!!!
Thanks for keeping it real! Here lately I have been hearing a lot about Alliance! I was leaning toward Momentum 397TH. Now I have to go back and do some more homework. I just subscribed!!!
If I'm not mistaken, I think the owners of Alliance used to work for Grand Design. No 100% sure on that, but I thought I heard or read that somewhere. 🤔
I don't think anyone beats the size and number of living room windows you get in a Grand Design. Light is very important to me. I'm leaning towards the 395MS but I'm disappointed with the bedroom windows and size of the bedroom. I was shocked when you said you're not supposed to travel with full water tanks in a GD. How do they expect you to boondock for 2 weeks? Maybe this is why their water tank is much larger than most. Because you can only fill it up 60%.
It appears Alliance has had a few fingers on the pulse of the buying public. Give the buying public what they are looking for and you become the Mfg leading the way, hope their warranty and service department can match the product. Comparison was well done, evenly balanced. Good luck and safe travels 👍🇺🇸
Oh boy, did someone get their feathers ruffled. I stand by the statements that your comparison was evenly balanced and well done. No shots were taken at Grand Design RV just a comparison of product. Safe travels
The valor is a new player in the 5th wheel market and was probably not yet available on the market at the time you made your purchase., GRAND DESIGN is also a good builder of R.V.'s and owned by the infamous winnibego corporation😊. You can order any number of optional brands, appliances and floor plans from any builder of R.V.'s so, no regrets, and, enjoy your momentum🤗👍
Great comparison! Honest and gave your likes and dislikes. Your channel has become one of my favorites and I always look forward to the next scream like a girl adventure! 😂
Nice review! I just have to interject: No "junk drawer"! Use a jar! You can put it anywhere you want, and you can see the total contents from every side without digging!
Love this! We are about to sell our sticks and bricks to go full time, and THIS Alliance fits almost everything on our must have / wish list! Thanks for sharing!!!
We were looking at the Momentum 397 and the dealer also showed us the Alliance Valor 36v11. My wife and I are very impressed with it. We are waiting to look at the 42v13 and will make our decision then.
Question about the tie downs on the Alliance, are there tie down rings that lock into the strips on the floor? Kinda reminds of the tie down areas on a cargo plane where you can add the rings where you need them.
I was previously interested in the Grand Designs but I've looked at the Alliance Valor before too. Do you know if the super sofas can be switched for a loveseat/dinette instead? And can the king size beds be optioned out for a queen to make more room in the bedrooms? Thanks.
Thanks for keeping it real! Great comparison review. We actually have a deposit on an Alliance 390mp. Hopefully picking it up in a few weeks. Thanks for sharing!
We have been wanting a Grand Design for so long. But they are so hard to find right now. I can find the Valor with the options we need much quicker. The 3rd AC and the nonresidential fridge has been very hard to find in the Grand Design. I appreciate the video it has given good insight on what to look for in the Valor.
With the amount of time I've been researching for the full time coach we're looking for I've found the Alliance being quite the upper scale coaches in quality, floor plan build and especially their pride in the storage space they put into their coaches. Still not totally sure which way we're going with all the possibilities there are and the wants of both of us but between the Alliance and the Raleigh with a couple others in the mix the Alliance is a very nice coach.
We looked at the Alliance, they have a good model and seem to be doing ok but with the big investment of a TH we decided to go with Grand Design, we compare them to FR offerings and their ability to stand behind you on your purchase, friends of ours own Momentum’s and Solitudes all with zero complaints. I will never buy anything else besides GD going forward however the Momentum 351-R we are getting should be our last unit, as we are selling our Montana bc we do not like the Raptors. I do wish Alliance a lot of luck and they do have some challenges coming late in the game but I think they have a shot of doing it.
I love what I see coming out of Alliance! I am going to be doing my travel solo, so I am waiting to see what they come out with that is half-ton or small 3/4 ton towable.
I have owned an Alliance product since May, 2020. I can assure you quality, and more importantly, customer service is second to none. I have received phone calls from VP of Customer Experience on Sunday of a Holiday weekend answering a question. Lighter versions will be out later this year. They will be worth the wait! I can't recommend Alliance highly enough.
Hope you enjoy the Super Bowl! Right up to just about the end... 😁 #itsabucslife (born and raised in Tampa). Love how you support your Chiefs and love what you guys are doing. Keep crushing!
Don’t know if you know it or not but one of the Alliance owners was a well loved long time employee of Grand Design. Your video is the first we’ve seen that they came out with a toy hauler.
Looked Alliance first time a few days ago! Cabinet seemed cheap wood! As a Toy Haul pissed off that axles with real toys in them mine is over weight on rear axle 2 axle even though trailer is just under GVW with absolutely no water, gray, black fluids also gas for toys!! Mine say 14040 GVW but trailer has only 2 6000lb axles
] “Not supposed to travel with our tanks full. Only 60% with our Grand Design”. Grand Design does not provide a percentage of what your tanks should be filled to while traveling. We have added bracing in the tank area so that people CAN travel with full tanks. However, it is advised to limit that travel for a few reasons. First, water weighs 8# per gallon. If you fill your fresh water, and have gray or black water, you are starting to limit your Cargo Carrying Capacity greatly. This could potentially put you over your GVWR. Another reason would be that water is a fluid (obviously) weight. It moves while you travel which can strain tanks and straps, no matter how much reinforcement there is. We apologize if it was someone from GDRV who provided that statistic to you." Dry camping in the desert 150 / 200 miles from water and fuel requires everything that can carry liquid be filled and full. If cargo capacity is an issue when all tanks are filled, that's at no go for me. Futhermore, in transport with filled tanks is a concern! With a Toy Hauler you definitely won't have hook ups most of the time. I'm glad I learned this before looking hard at Toy Haulers. If this systemic within the industry, well it's not good, not good at all. Especially when some manufactures are touted to better than others.
Check out the Alliance Facebook group, I think you'll find that we are very helpful to one another and a tight knit group. I haven't even purchased mine yet but after being in the group, I know that I will get an Alliance. I am waiting to see what the mid level models will be like in late spring/early summer. Where else can you get an immediate answer to a problem or at least directed to a solution from an owner of the company?
I hate toy hauler reviews by RV park warriors. All these RUclipsrs don’t live out west or have a Razor and never go to Glamis or Pismo for a week or two off grid.
Because we selected a toy hauler for our motorcycle, kayaks and ebikes while living full time I guess our opinions don't matter... hmmm... one day we can be cool and live off grid with our solar and all our stuff like you... bahahahaha...
Hey Guys! Thanks for posting this video. My name is Emily, and I am the Director of Customer Experience for Grand Design. Our team works very closely with many RUclips Influencer's as well as provide information about products, and provide assistance when needed on many social platforms. After watching this video, we wanted to make sure we could clarify a few things in regard to statements made.... just to ensure everyone has the most up to date and accurate info as possible. Below is a list of things we were able to find to be able to provide insight to potential buyers. Hope this helps for those of you interested and still searching. Thank you so much for being dedicated Grand Design Owners, we appreciate you. 1:20 - Large gap between the awnings. We choose not to do this on our models because it does not allow for full shade when out in the direct sun on the camp side 1:44 - “Only been doing toy haulers for about a year”. rvbusiness.com/alliance-rv-intros-valor-full-profile-fifth-wheel-toy-hauler/ this is the RV Business link for when Alliance launched their Valor line, approximately 5 months ago. 3:09 - “soft close drawers” We have found that many soft close hinges do need assistance when closing (as seen at this moment in the video). A good quality hinge can be quite costly, which is why we choose to spend the money in other areas. 4:07 - “came with two deep cycle batteries”. GDRV does not provide batteries with our units. This is completely up to the buyer/dealer to install. Batteries of their choice allows for more room for options. 4:50 - “Not supposed to travel with our tanks full. We apologize if it was someone from GDRV who provided that statistic to you. Here are a few excerpts from our current Momentum FW owners manual : Traveling with your holding tank(s) full could result in the following conditions: • Reduced available cargo capacity. • Exceeding individual tire ratings and/or the GAWR or GVWR. • Potential damage to suspension components, such as springs, tires and axles. • Reduced hitch weight, if your RV holding tank(s) are located behind the axles. • Trailer sway and other handling difficulties, as a result of the hitch weight being too light. 5:15 - Central Vac system - this has been one that we have had a lot of feedback on especially with toy haulers. SO much sand and dirt that can easily be taken care of without having a stick vacuum or any other product that can add weight. 5:45 - “Can’t add dimmer switches”. Easy after market swap out that we have found people to do. We try not to add in extra cost to things that could potentially be done in an aftermarket setting. 6:09 - “Junk drawer” we do have this flip top option in our Solitude line, however, found that Momentum typically has enough drawer space for things people need to carry, while still being cautious about adding TOO much, that could increase weight. 6:24 - We do offer washer and dryer prep in the 395MS in the garage 6:49 - “the patios aren’t necessarily sealed”. The ramp doors that have been used by almost every mfg in the past were sealed. They were never waterproof or weather proof, which means that you were advised to put them up in the rain. Unfortunately, since we do not mfg the doors, we had to go off of what was available at the time. There have been aftermarket applications people have added to make them "weatherproof", which are great!. We are now using the LCI Weatherproof ramp door on our product. However, this is new, and was just released in the fall. We started using it shortly after release, as we listened to our consumer feedback and this was a big one that people wanted. A big thank you to LCI for providing this option now! 7:26 - Tire discussion/Suspension system - GDRV does offer an upgrade for tires, and the standard tires and suspension used on our Full Momentum FW are the same as what is being used on the Valor FW TH. We also offer the 8k disc brake axle upgrade. OK! I hope you all take the time to read this so that you know that we are listening and paying attention to what people are saying they want and don't want. Have a wonderful day!
Awesome stuff... we do own a new 395ms... we feel Grand Design has been ahead of the game and the reason we purchased... we just thought for the first time Grand Design is being challenged a bit and that is a good thing... thanks for those details... appreciate you watching...

It's what makes your channel unique. I'm also an old skool biker and have a 23 year old daughter finishing her Masters in Chemistry at UNC. Easy to see you love your daughter Allyson (sp) the same. Good luck to her on the book and be safe and God bless your travels.
Oh, with some luck from the USPS, I may be having my tea tomorrow in my SwitchitUp mug. 😊🏞🚌
Thank you for watching!
Haven't heard of a Glow Step 😕
Can you please explain 👍
Nice video guys... Quick and simple, the best way to compare anything.... Keep up the good work..
Wow Alliance has to be putting every other manufacture on edge. I really think my next 5th wheel will be an Alliance especially with the lithium batteries being standard what a upgrade. It really seems Alliance listened to what people wanted and built it.
Yes.. the Lithium Battery set up is really big... they are listening...
👍 Our Valor 40v13 has the Solar Plus Package. 960 watts and 300ah of Lithium Batteries 👍
Appreciate your honesty in your comparison of your unit and the Alliance. Class act.
Pretty excited about this trailer, this really may be the one.
Very informative. Thanks for sharing. Love you guys
Nice man! Helping us all brudda! 👊
After talking with you at the Grand Design booth at the show, we went and toured the 40v13. It really is an amazing toy hauler. Everything the 395ms has except the dinette. And way more storage. Thanks for the video!!
That's awesome....
Love you guys! We are hoping to buy in the next couple of months and this video was so helpful!
After our year of research for our RV, it came down to GD and KZ. Our choice, we did not need a toy hauler but loved the patio. We went with the KZ382 MBQ as it gave us much more living space and the patio. Love your videos and honesty, we still look also.
This was SO helpful! Thanks we haven't bought our new rig yet and were debating between the Momentum and the Valor. This was so very helpful!
Your personality keeps me from thinking you're becoming one of them!
One of who?... the rv youtuber dude?...lol...
I really enjoy your chanel. Its so refreshing, fun and real
We own an Alliance Paradigm and are now looking at toy haulers. We have narrowed it down to the Grand Design and Alliance and this helps.
I kinda figured you had this saved for today just in case
I just subscribed!!!
feel the same way about both rigs. BTW love your channel!!!
If I'm not mistaken, I think the owners of Alliance used to work for Grand Design. No 100% sure on that, but I thought I heard or read that somewhere. 🤔
Great video and review pointing out the differences, thank you for sharing.
Thank you! Never heard of them.
Good info.
What was reply you received on the washer/dryer in the garage? I would like hook ups in both locations, so I could have the option to choose.
Jeremy said to just reach out to him at Alliance and they can make the hookups happen.
Very nice. We have friends that just purchased an Alliance 5th Wheel.. it’s beautiful! Thanks for the walk through
Nice video guys thanks.
Great comparison! Honest and gave your likes and dislikes. Your channel has become one of my favorites and I always look forward to the next scream like a girl adventure! 😂
Nice review!
I just have to interject:
No "junk drawer"!
Use a jar! You can put it anywhere you want, and you can see the total contents from every side without digging!
Thank you, Not too many videos on the Valor yet. They really have a lot of upgrades that owners do after the sale Love it.
Those Valors are pretty cool. Great unbiased review. I’m sure you guys are routing on your Chiefs!!!
Yep... Go Chiefs!
With the slides in on the Alliance can you access the refrigerator, bathroom and bedroom?
We are not sure on that as we didn’t pay attention to where the slides would come in. Wish I would have now that you ask....
I know you can on the 40v13.
Thanks for the heads up comparison
Question about the tie downs on the Alliance, are there tie down rings that lock into the strips on the floor? Kinda reminds of the tie down areas on a cargo plane where you can add the rings where you need them.
The answer is Yes 👍
The only use for the central vac is vacuuming out the truck.
We have a Durango but down the road its between grand design or alliance. Thanks for sharing.
A comment for RUclips! ; )
Grand design reputation has taken a dump since the buy out.
So looking for a trailer that can ACTUALLY BE LEGAL ALL THE WAY AROUND
Alliance Valor won us over from the same model you have now. It was the extras that did it.
Thanks for the tips!!!
Whattt....can't travel with full water on the GD? Ummm...that is a bit silly on a toy hauler....
Awesome information. What outside colors does the valor come in? Just white or did I notice it was grey?
Where is you find the information that tanks can’t be e than 60% for travel?
Great videos!
🇺🇸🕊️ "NICE" 🤗
Great video. 👍👍
Thank-you, for sharing.💪
Have a beautiful bless Day.🙏
🍃🇺🇸🕊️🌎🕊️🍃
Hope you enjoy the Super Bowl! Right up to just about the end... 😁 #itsabucslife (born and raised in Tampa). Love how you support your Chiefs and love what you guys are doing. Keep crushing!
Don’t know if you know it or not but one of the Alliance owners was a well loved long time employee of Grand Design. Your video is the first we’ve seen that they came out with a toy hauler.
Would you consider the overall construction and insulation making it a Four season full time RV Similar to a DRV or your Grand Design?
Grand Design is owned by Winnebago they cashed out
They look so nice but I would be afraid to tow such a big RV
Believe it or not but my 2021 3500 Ram tows our 40v13 like it's not behind it.
I wouldn't tow it with anything other than a 1ton longbox Duelly 👍
Looked Alliance first time a few days ago! Cabinet seemed cheap wood! As a Toy Haul pissed off that axles with real toys in them mine is over weight on rear axle 2 axle even though trailer is just under GVW with absolutely no water, gray, black fluids also gas for toys!! Mine say 14040 GVW but trailer has only 2 6000lb axles
I need that white jacket!!!
Guys, I sell the Alliance. Hit me up and we can get you out of your Momentum that I know you love. It's just you love this one a little bit more.
Just in time before the game! Go Chiefs!
They never showed up!
@@cruzinbenny3750 I blame Sheila and Todd cause they aren’t in KC like last year. :)
Compare the roofs!!!!!!!!
Good info!
You should have looked at the Cedar Creeks before buying the Grand Design
We choose not to do this on our models because it does not allow for full shade when out in the direct sun on the camp side
1:44 - “Only been doing toy haulers for about a year”. rvbusiness.com/alliance-rv-intros-valor-full-profile-fifth-wheel-toy-hauler/ this is the RV Business link for when Alliance launched their Valor line, approximately 5 months ago.
We apologize if it was someone from GDRV who provided that statistic to you. Here are a few excerpts from our current Momentum FW owners manual :
Traveling with your holding tank(s) full could result
in the following conditions:
• Reduced available cargo capacity.
• Exceeding individual tire ratings and/or the
GAWR or GVWR.
• Potential damage to suspension components,
such as springs, tires and axles.
• Reduced hitch weight, if your RV holding tank(s)
are located behind the axles.
• Trailer sway and other handling difficulties,
as a result of the hitch weight being too light.
6:24 - We do offer washer and dryer prep in the 395MS in the garage
6:49 - “the patios aren’t necessarily sealed”.
My husband and I just purchased our new Valor 36v11! Can't wait to pick it up next week and get on the road!!
Time to Switch it up to the Alliance. 🤣😜
There’s some guy here
ruclips.net/video/6Z8Di8hT7SY/видео.html
who bought an alliance and it’s leaking thru his AC and one of his fans.
Also please talk about how much truck you need to pull one of these fully loaded. Other guy says f350 dually.
Very nice 😊
