Typically the more living space, the less basement. Something to consider the next time you buy a rig. For us, the basement storage isn't such a big deal when having a toy hauler as there are plenty of ways to store things in the garage, even with all the toys in there. I just found your channel, but thought I would give my thoughts on things for future reference. We were suppose to be traveling but due to covid, decided to buy property to start our dream ranch first. That way we always have a home base! If y'all ever need a place to stay, like dinasour museums and are in Utah, please visit us! Stay safe and enjoy the journey!
Yeah, I plan to use the overhead bunk as interior storage. And my garage will probably be my office space and full sized laundry (residential machines are cheaper, more durable, and easier to fix!) I like having a pass thru though, even a smaller one for longer items like fishing poles, or ladders, or a long wash handle/spray boom for washing the rig, etc. I would not want to bring some things inside, I would want them stored "outside", you know? I DO like the height, and the overall size of the outside storage on the 399. I kinda like the living area on the 395 though. I would choose the 399, because you have a much better kitchen area, more free walking space, the overhead bunk space is huge with that extra L shape, the half bath is bigger, the outside storage is just massive for what it is, the SIDE PATIO!!, and of course the Much Bigger Shower for Two!! I would deal with the living room being kind of tilted and maybe blocking the doorway with the TV. Both look like there is NO access to the fridge on the road, which is a huge mistake though, GD should have raised the fridge the necessary inches to have the top doors clear the counter top, or lower the counter top. Just my thoughts on that, for what that is worth. GL HF!!!
Laughing hard.... Well you already have your 395 and have had it for over a year. But I think it was funny that you ordered the 395 but were still waffling over the 399. I'm glad you love your 395 and I think for you, you made the right decision. Again, congratulations! ! !
Switch it up! We have the 399th and its the best decision we made. The garage fits our 4 seater Club Car with 4” lift and 2 kayaks. We got rid of the dining table and double recliners for a RecPro Charles 94" Powered Double RV Wall Hugger Recliner Sofa RV Loveseat for more comfortable seating. The lower storage was the only con for us. We eventually will get a a slide out tray to install in the storage basement for easier access. Not sure what you guys ended up choosing but I highly recommend the 399.
I love the 395MS! My hubby and I have been looking for the perfect RV for about a year now and that is one on my list. TOO many choices, It's exhausting! Your wife's face lit up every time she said it felt "homier". That pantry in the 399 didn't look much bigger, IMO... the whole bottom portion was electronics panel. Plus the kitchen didn't seem to have much more cabinet space either. And you both got excited over the loft space in the 399 but you have a similar loft in the 395. Hope you took your dog with you, dogs are family too! 🐶😍 Looking forward to seeing you on the road in your beautiful new rig. Best of luck with it.
We just purchased a 2021 Cyclone 4005. I would have to go with the 395 for three reasons. Having to look over the counter while watching TV and at an angle was not appealing to us, but in most toy haulers, that's the way it is. Having the washer/dryer on the side of the rig is a bonus because the dryer can't be vented in the center and you end up with an all-in-one unit. Last, the side porch was one we eventually decided against because some spaces are so tight there is no way to put them down and you end up looking at a black wall for your stay. We looked at a Jayco 4113 and the Raptor 413. If we would have seen the GD 395 that might have lead us in that direction
This is a reality check for me. We ordered a Class A coach that’s 38’ (haven’t gotten it yet) but it is starting to seem smaller and smaller. I hope we didn’t make a mistake... this is our 5th rv in 4 years. You know people say to buy the last rv first.. I’m just hoping we bought our last one last. Haha..
Great video comparison. We had the same thoughts. I liked the L shaped seating in the MS. But as full timers (2 adults only) the TH is what we ordered.
We just ordered our 395MS. We prefer the more seating and more homey vibe/feeling. The storage sucks but I would rather have more seating to be comfortable. Going full time for a year, as soon as we get ours!
@@hicksticks2001 No😩 The rep called last week and said it was done and just waiting for someone from the dealership transportation company to pick it up. I’m making a call tomorrow to get an update. We try to call once a week. We should have it in the next week though!🤞🏻 Feels like we’ve been waiting an eternity😞
I like the first one BUT basement storage IS EVERYTHING!! We know this first hand. We haven’t had our 2020 10 months and we’re already looking for something else because of storage issues. (We are full time!)………. My big issue is the N/S beds. Ugh. LoL. I’m trying to get my husband to consider a Cyclone…… I think it’s the 4006 model. It looks really home-y!!! Good Luck y’all.
We just purchased a GD 375RES. We chose it for the ‘under living room’ storage. We will start living full time in July. I don’t like the kitchen counter injecting into living area…but like both options of dining table. Storage and garage I feel you’ll go 399.
I'd have to go with the 399. When the kids are gone, we go for more of a Floorplan like this. We currently have a voltage 4005 and love it but we would like having a dedicated dining table. We love the side patio also.
Hello! We have a 2020 359M with Full Body paint and love it. But ...do not care for tht new 395MS. Not all upgrades are really "upgraded" in our opinion! Good Luck, it's always a hard decision no matter what! Go 399!! LOL
wow. I didn't notice the lack of basement storage - the pantry looks like a push to me. The lack of basement storage is a deal breaker for me. I can see swapping out the dinette for the supersofa for seating, though dinner ends up being served in the garage... Also the TINY main shower and tinier garage bathroom, another wow not in a good way. We travel with 2-4 kids depending on school schedules. thanks for the head to head. it helped me decide! Safe travels!
My wife and I watch all of your videos. We love that both of you are smiling and laughing a lot. We are looking at a Momentum 397 with a similar garage size. We have a small RZR, 2 Kayaks and 2 bike cycles. Could you post a few pics of your garage setup with everything inside and ready to travel?
I just ran across your channel and I don’t know what you chose, but I would run away from the 395. I’ve had a L shaped sofa in an earlier Rv and never again. They don’t comfortably seat as many as you might think. We also have dogs, who would be on the kitchen counters at every meal prep. Or when we’re out. All of the “ spaces” are very small and I think even with just you two it will start feeling very cramped and you will often be in each other’s way, never mind having company! The lack of storage inside and out is a nonstarter for me. You’re going to be carrying a lot of basement stuff in your garage instead. I agree, it feels very homey, but it doesn’t feel livable to me. I like the 399 better, and the 397 best, but that’s me. Again, hate to rain on anybody’s parade, but I will subscribe and am very happy for you whatever you chose and am a little envious. Hopefully my wife will agree to do this in about a year in our Solitude 369.
I do appreciate your input but alas... we went with the new 395MS.. since we are rookies in this world it will all be a learning process...lol... we start our adventures on Jan 11th... should be interesting...
We are considering the same #RV. We will be joking you in a month as soon as we get our house on the market. It’s amazing how much stuff you accumulate uuggggh!
We do really love this floor plan - the biggest complaint is as much as we move from site to site having to pick up the recliner from the couch, it's heavy!! But other than that great rig for us! Thanks for following along!
395 ms has 3 times the indoor seating, a bigger rear garage, bigger slides ( more room ) master bedroom slide closet is bigger, and it is less money. ( MSRP ) My choice.
When you're tired in the evening one of you will want to lie on that 2 seater and watch TV, what;s the other one going to do? I prefer the outfit you have ordered. Can you tell us the relative costs? p.s. neither would be practical for UK or European roads.
I am sure that the size of these rigs would not be good on European roads - that's when those smaller cars come in handy. When you ask for relative costs do you mean for the 395 vs 399? They are pretty much the same price or at least within a few thousand of each other.
Debating the same models. Can someone please elaborate on whether you can get to the master bedroom on the 399 with the slides in? It looks obstructed. I love the 395, but where will my folding table and folding chairs go? 😢
@@SwitchItUpLife Not a bad idea. I’m really trying to justify the 395 and not moving up to the 397 which does meet all of our needs, but it’s massive and quite a bit heavier! What about all your sewer and water supplies? Does that eat up all your basement? I just think about running back and forth on a rainy day. 😂
Can you make the volume louder... when it's turned all the way up its still hard for me to hear....thankyou kindly....otyers can turn it down...i cant turn it up :-(
That is a no-brainer decision to me. The 399 is far superior. The "comfy living room" factor of the 365 is a first impression and so not worth it when giving up so many other features available on on the 399. Regardless, hope you are happy which ever coach you decide on.
Yeah... I posted this video but I didn't realize it was on my personal page until someone said they couldn't find it... so I moved it over here today for future references... thanks for noticing...
If you’re driving tired and pull in somewhere for the night, you can’t get to the bedroom without putting the slide out on the 399. But that basement is terrible on the 395
HEY WAIT- it looks like the fridge will NOT open when the slides are in. The top doors look like they will catch on the counter tops. That is a no-no as far as I am concerned. The layout looks good enough for what it is, better living area and a proper table to eat at are a MUST. But when I pull over for lunch to make a sandwich or get that salad I made before leaving, I want to get my food without having to push out the slide. Some places like the side of the road, or even in a Walmart or whatever, you can't put a slide out, nor would you even want to! Yeah that shower is just too small, for Many reasons. Is there any storage in the kitchen behind the couch? Under the counter, between the fridge and the sink? Also, neither one offers any long pass thru underneath storage at all???!!!???? that's just Wrong! And, if you have the TV out, and someone comes in or is knocking, you have to move the TV to get to the door... how weird is that?
