As always, your talent shines bright with every piece you create. The dimension by bringing the piece outside of the canvas is so good. Fall vibes for days.
OMG 😮, I just stumbled across you while looking for something to do with these molds and holy smokes!!! I certainly can't do this my friend, God blessed your hands and gave you a beautiful creative mind...me, not so much 😊...I will probably just be doing some dark wax 😏😒...I so admire you and thank you for sharing with us ❤
Beautiful! I have been deciding what I want to make with my IOD pumpkin mould and I love this so much, I might give it a shot somce I have the sunflower mould too
This project is gorgeous!! Fall colors are just the best. I am curious about the Liquid Patina. You covered your board with it and I was wondering why. What is the goal you achieve with this item? Thank you so much. ❤
Thank you! Well, I have been a decorative artist for many years now. For some years I had a store where I sold products, taught classes, and my crew and I continued to do contract work as well. One of the rules I taught was for a piece to look cohesive, finish it with the same product, whether it be waxes, antiquing pastes, or liquids. That is why I coated the paper as well as the molds; however, I did use some solvent to lighten the lighter areas representing a light source.
Thanks so much, Marcia! I used the Hearty Soft Clay on this piece. I always list supplies in the description box below the videos; the link to this clay is there. I’ve talked about the difference in clays in a few videos. Only when I don’t mind the clay shrinking and/or cracking (giving it that old world look,) do I use standard air dry clay. 👍🏻
@@thom7yv01, I purchased the rice paper for a laser printer from Amazon. The image was an Etsy download of fall leaves from the shop, Nifty Crafty House. The products used along with the link to the rice paper is in the description box below the video. 👍🏻
I used a variety of basic acrylic paints and mixed to get the various shades, so I really couldn’t give a list of colors. The acrylic brands are just what Hobby Lobby sells such as FolkArt and Ceramcoat. I also used a few FauxEffects brand of acrylics from my ten year old stash from when I had my decorative finishing store.
This is absolutely beautiful ❤❤❤ can you paint this clay when it's wet if you're careful like the DAS? I just went and ordered the clay you use on Amazon to try it!

Thank you! That is Hearty Soft Clay; product links are always in the description box below the video. There is a learning curve to using it as it has a bit of an elastic texture. I’ve talked about the different clays in videos before as I still use IOD Air dry clay in applications where I don’t mind it shrinking or cracking because I’m going for that old world look; however, 90% of the time now, I use the Hearty Soft Clay. 👍🏻

What do recommend in order to get a glass finish over a decoupaged piece?
Water-based, I would use Triple Thick Gloss; for oil based, I would use Pentart Gloss Varnish.
@@designsbyJ thanks
Beautiful! To watch you make this art piece! What brand and kind of clay did you use? It seemed less dense than the air dry clay I use.

May I know where you found the Decoupage Rice paper for the background?

Also, what are you using to paint everything? Is that just acrylic paint or is some of it alcohol inks?
Thank you! Yes, you can paint the clay when it is fresh. I used basic acrylic paints on everything.
Why are your screens black? I hear you but no pictures

Beautiful!!!! The only question that I have is, I haven't ever used any clay that's flexible after 24 hours, what kind of clay do you use?
Thank you! That is Hearty Soft Clay; product links are always in the description box below the video. There is a learning curve to using it as it has a bit of an elastic texture.
