Welcome back Captain Andy. I'm glad you are still covering this event. It means so much to me being one of the ironworkers who built the bridge.
Amen and thank you for sharing be blessed and hope you and family prosper in health and in everything your hearts desire..
That's one thing I'd really love to see close up, bridge debris and the containers being removed from the Dali.
I know thats out of your hands Captian Andy.
Stayin tuned! 👍🤠
We will see what we can do
Awesome awesome videos, thanks so much ❤
So good to see that they are back at it. And to see them dropping that Ball for breaking up the Road Bed and seeing the big Splash.
Hahaha, when "dropping the ball" is a good thing!
It a huge coordinated ballet to unload a container ship, the crane takes the box off the ship and at the same time the lashing crew removes the stacking pins from each corner of the next container. The crane sets the box, depending on what system they use, onto a chassis pulled by a hustler (dock truck) who moves it to a transtainer that picks it up and puts it in the stack, or the crane sets it on the ground where a Straddle Carrier picks it up and moves it to the stack. This works in a continuous loop until all the boxes are off the ship. Cameras record the box numbers from the sides of the box and clerks record where the box is placed in the stack.
I hear a subtle change in your voice Andy. Relief! Glad you have been here directing us to the reality and the personal aspects involved. Thank you to Robin, and Rob for allowing you the action filled sight line.
Thanks also goes to the other Two wayward Musketeers for their help. KOH met Rob, Robin, and family, that one sunny Sunday. After that, you Three Salty Dogs brought forth the depth for us also. Great series Captain'.
Thanks Andy!
So happy to see continued coverage. I know you have special expertise with the vessels, but completely removing the debris is so important. I'm hoping the open space will help expedite the process. We owe you a huge thank you.
Well done to everyone who worked so hard to get the channel open. Alfred's video was amazing. Thanks Andy and team for your trojan work.
Hello from Montana, I used to live in Maryland and I was so shocked when this happened... Prayers for everyone.. thank you for your coverage of the bridge...
Morning Andy one can only say that the coverage of this incident by you and your colleague s have been brilliant thanks for your time and cooperation with the command.
The extra footage really adds a nice touch to the story!
Thanks Tyger
Just like to say thank you for covering all the events, yes great footage of moving the Dali hand down The Best
Captain Andy,
I’m a fan of your channel and I’ve enjoyed all your work and videos the last 7 weeks. To quote the Golden Girls, Thank you for being a friend to us here in Baltimore!
Hiya I’m in Cornwall the uk watching you guys working this Dali / bridge it looks like big job you have on your hands 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Can we get an interview with the crane operator on the Dale Pyatt? That guy is a beast. Dale Pyatt is a hungry, hungry boy and it seems like it runs circles around all the other cranes grabbing debris. I know, Chessie can't swivel so it takes her longer to get things picked up (and they're usually heavy) so it's not really her fault. Did you call the green dredge "Mike" Pyatt? Does Dale have a brother? I want to know more about the people who actually work those cranes, how many years they've been working their cranes, where they got their experience, what their work day is typically like, do they stay with their cranes or do they switch back and forth with whichever crane is in the thick of it, you know - questions like that. Inquiring minds and all that. Thanks for considering it!
Great idea!
Yes, that would be interesting!
Hey Captain, great coverage as always. Keep up the great coverage.😊
Great job on continued coverage of this tragic accident and the herculean clean up. Capt Andy and his crew have been doing a wonderful job bring this event to as wide an audience as possible across his channel. Thank you Capt and your crew.
Just like your coverage of the Golden Ray, this is excellent work, you and your team are outstanding !
❤ Thanks Andy Be Safe
Thank you too
Excellent video again, thanks again for sharing this video with us
I still can’t believe how good the video was from the morning move the other day… that gear is unbelievable!

Thank you kindly
Great coverage as always! Thank you
Much appreciated!
I'm so glad you're still showing us what's going on with the clean up. Thank you!
I still can't believe they managed to clear the bridge of traffic in such a short time. This could have been a lot worse.
4:07 If I'm not hallucinating, a man climbs out of a man lift onto the remaining bridge structure. I'm sure he's got a harness. (zoom required)
Anyway, ballsy I'd say. 😳
It’s so good to have you back!
the journey continues
Hey Captain, great coverage as always
Glad you enjoyed it
Most definitely watch moving the Doli. What a experience. Glad to see cleaning of the channel and even going deeper. Ai Ai Captain 🇿🇦
Hi from Longueuil, Quebec, Canada. Love your stream. What a job they have all done simultaneously and you as well. Thanks
Still doing a great job.
Andy,I put a comment on the live feed today so you may not have seen it but WTOP News probably out of Baltimore ran an article about the Italian bridge building company named WeBuild who sent a proposal for the reconstruction of the FSK Bridge to MDTA, they state they have plans for a bridge for the future which would be 2300 feet between pylons which would be in shallower water and would be 28 feet higher at 213". I googled this story so you should be able to find it with no problem. Again , thank you for all the video's.
WTOP out of Washington DC.

Spuds in the mud, Spuds in the air, You can't put that spud down there.
Observed after this footage was recorded, Chesapeake 1000 with heavy ballast moved to Span.
It was equipped with large lifting chains!
Big Chunk Tomorrow?
Thanks.
Professional salvage at it's best, very well coordinated by the state and especially liked the blowing of the stansions 🏴
Note how the biggest crane did not lift any debris all day. It swung to and forth a few times, held and released some chains, but lifted and shifted absolutely no debris the whole day.
Perhaps it needed some maintenance.
@@Graham_Wideman It wasn't undergoing maintenance; presumably it would move off-site for that. It was dancing around while lifting nothing or just standing still
I Would Hope' That The Army Core Of Engineers Will Again Demolition The Rest of The Debris Using More Shape Charges Again? I think Most likely the Cor want's to clear whats still submerged under the water before they take apart any more. that is visible at the surface.
Excellent coverage guys.
Can you describe what is happening with that span?..doesn't seem to be moving out of there
Alfred is The Best! #ChitShow
they just basically have to smash the whole roadway. but as you can see it will take a lot of time
It’s all an anti climax now! The media will slowly lose interest!
Busy work
How are they planning to get the highway off the Dali?
Are they still going to work 24/7 benz the Dali has been moved
Lol, some debris, lots of debris
Key Bridge
How are they planning on getting the large debris out and when?
Andy on a good day a good port crane operator can do 20 to 30 moves per hour and they can safely put 3 cranes on a ship at one time if the ship line wants to pay for it. Divide that by 4600 +/- containers and you end up with a couple of DAYS to unload a whole ship then they have to find room on the ground to store the containers until they figure out how to get them shipped out. Usually the ship makes several stops along the coast and unloads hundreds of containers at each port NEVER 4600 at one time.
I think all 4,600+/- containers were going to Sri Lanka, but perhaps some were to be dropped at other ports along the way.
@@lizj5740 That was its next port of call, it was not fully loaded. When ships arrive in the States they are FULLY LOADED and every container has cargo in it, it unloads the full containers and then loads back any cargo going back overseas and any empty containers that need to go back. Sadly the US imports more cargo than it exports.
Are the crane barges self-propelled or do they need a tug to move around?
They probably have to saw the highway into sections.
Definitely very different views to what Alred is used to seeing 😅
I wonder what is going to happen with all the buyers expecting their cargo from the dali?
What was the explanation for getting the Dali to move off the mud so long after the high tide when most thought it wasn't gong to shift on that attempt? Thx.
I have been waiting for the NASCAR VERSION OF A LIVE( 3 HR TO 6HR) IN THIS...... WE LOVE THE MINORCAN NAVY ......LIVE AND NASCAR VERSIONS ARE GOOD FOR MY GNATASSONAWINDSHIELDATTENTIONSPAN!.....SAAAAAAALUUUUUTTTTTTE! HEE HAW FAVORITE!
Comment for the algorithm 😉
The Dali is gone, and work continues? Well, that's the idea, get the ship out, and get the work done.
I think the worm tunnel drill is coming. After all is cleared as in Chesapeake bay Bridge tunnel . The less in the way of ships
Not happening, no hazmats allowed in tunnels.
I often wonder how that tunnel myth keeps arising.
So many hands make short work 😊😊
Are they going to unload the ship?
I am wondering if they will clean up the bow of the Dali and remove the roadbed debris from the bow deck before unloading any containers.
They could do both at the same time, by unloading containers from the aft first.
see if we get an answer, how is it that there are chaps with drones on the gordy howey bridge detriot to windsor and fly about with no issues even filming the bears workers ,yet down here on the water those smart people in charge are against drones and please do not say they obstruct with the crane operators, which is a load of poo,if it is good for the gander ,its good for the goose, how can see anything being done if u r miles away from the job,it beggers belief
How did they get the port side anchor and chain retrieved?
We saw the 533 pulling on the chain Sunday. Not sure if the anchor has been pulled yet. It may still be there in the mud!
The big ships are comeing in after the first of june
yea but those guys, even if they make 7 figures, are only 5 foot 6 inches tall....and only have 14 days of vacation to TRAVEL...
Wheres the CLAW LOL
Does anyone know What "milking the check" means?
here in the united states we have the equipment and engineering to do this, where elsein the world could they do this?
Where is the weeks 533?
Do you believe the Naval Ship could get through
You did not look happy on the flight back north
scusate ma non parlo inglese😩Ma c'è gia un piano per abbattere il resto del ponte?
Haven't heard anything yet
Are the drone no fly zones still in effect?
When will they unload the Dali?
That depends on the longshoreman’s union.
You we'll see a mersak ship come in an then the containers will be taken of the dali an put on the mersak ship

What model boat is it that you use?
2120
💪👊🎉🇺🇸🇺🇸🫡
Will they use the parts of the old bridge that are still standing in the construction of the new bridge?
Doubtful. New bridge will probably require all new construction
Dont see the link for alfred using iphone
I check, but it should have been there. I'll add it to the description
@@MinorcanMullet
Thanks Andy, no rush, found him by his name just now
I think the longshoreman’s union is holding up coming back. They probably want to extra.
Will they use shape charges to breakdown the large span
Extremely unlikely.
Charges were used on the deck portion because of the precarious safety nature of the conventional way.
