Seeing the workers on the Dali's deck, really give perspective to the job they have to do and how massive these pieces are. Fantastic views.
Correction - seeing how much work is not being done indicates no-one is in a hurry to do anything. It's what happens when the unfortunate party paying for all of this has zero ability to influence speed of operation.
Thanks for your dedication Andy. Great views on the live and this 4k. Great to see the progress on the mangled mess close up. Well done to all involved.
Thank you sir for the update appreciate your amazing footage
My pleasure
Excellent footage ! Thank you for your dedication to sharing. Seeing the men walking around on board always reminds me of the enormous size of the vessel.
amazing as always!
I bet that "small" hollow concrete piece removed yesterday isn't even near 1/50th of the total weight of concrete remaining.
Thanks for stayin with us Captain Andy and I'm stayin tuned!
👍🤠
@johnshinn: right you are!!! The foredeck has several HUGE SLABS, some even are being used as a working platform for Resolve’s equipment and tools!! I wonder if those enormous SLABS will stay on the ship and make the trip to Norfolk for final removal?
@@samuelcollins1331 They're equipped to remove concrete so why not complete the job? It's surely gonna take a long while though, too long for Captain Andy to keep traveling between Home and Baltimore. However you may be correct in that they wanted to just get the precariouly dangerous lookin part off the Dali so it could make the trip.
@@JohnShinn1960 I don’t know, John. This debris removal looks a bit time consuming, expensive and brutally tedious. Plus the ship is tying up a cargo container off loading facility. Maybe better to just “secure” the larger debris and leave it on the ship until it sails to a more appropriate location in Tidewater, Va. I fear we will never know unless Andy is there to record whatever they decide to do.
Awesome views, thank you. That is a big dangerous task.
Thanks for outstanding coverage.
Once again, a great video
Thank you again friend. Thank you setting good example by wearing a life preserver.
Man, I was in & out while "waiting" at different places of business & got back into work as you were shutting down. Was this the last live you are doing in Baltimore? Not that it matters really. I will follow you wherever you go. Not in a creepy way either 😂Thank you Cap'n for your amazing videos & commentary. Carry on
Great video, Capt. Andy but.take more care on the audio, please!
Serve fresh , charged Batteries not only for your Drone (great thing!) but also for your audio mic ,cause it keeps missing the power to transmit the audio signal that you produce with your comments !
I want to hear your comments & explnations ,Sir!
Hope you change that mic~batteries for yout next stream & we all can hear you better ! Cheers for your work ! Greets,t.
We do see the progress every day. And we miss all the action involved with that progress, however.
Thanks Captain Andy ❤
Tryin to fill that "economic hole" Captain Andy. Little bit at a time, much like little crumbs of concrete off the Dali.
Great views Capt. Andy. Thanks for all the time and work you put into this. I wish I could do the work those guys are doing and they still have a lot to do. Maybe when I was younger but not today! I would like to know what kind of saws and etc. they have used and how each one performed. Maybe Project Farm will do something on that. I've officially reached the age where it's too hot, too wet, too cold, or I need a nap!!
👍🏽😂👍🏽 Nap Affirmation 👍🏽😂👍🏽
Where's my teeth? Has anybody seen my teeth?
I know I left 'em somewhere.
👍😵
There appear to be some gazebos erected on the deck to provide the workers some shelter. Also the blue sheet covering the walking area in front of the containers and some fans there too.
Still a lot of concrete … the whole top of the bridge support and the upper sides to remove. Thank you for posting the drone footage…(edit) what would the front of the ship look like, the bridge support crushed/cut in half a front wall of the upper deck.
More excellent footage. It’s a shame that some of your comments were cutting out at the start of the footage. 10:58
Sounds like you have a loose connection somewhere in your audio link Captain! Very intermittent, keeps cutting out. NOT like your usual.
Awesome images, Capt. Andy! Has anyone made a viable speculation where Dali will end up in Norfolk? Tks again! Nancy, USN-Ret
👍👍
How did you miss them taking that huge chunk of broken bridge column ? That would have been so interesting !
I'll assume he has more to do in life than wait for something that may or may not happen until the the next week or anytime in between.
5:03 That is one giant piece of concrete!
You gotta think that a shock wave travelled down that ship and SNAPPED at the stern. Could the damage be a lot worse than what we see on the bow?
I did notice that on top of the piece that they had cut that big chunk from that there is a couple of chains with hooks like they were starting to rig that piece. Maybe in at least a couple more pieces or all at once? My guess is that they cut it some more.
Thanks for the awesome video.
Thank you, as always for the 4D version!
Next......4E.....4F.....G...., all the way to Norfolk ! Lol !
Thanks for spending your time up video in this
Amazing views! What type of drone was used?
Up near the bow, it sort of looks like there are rods of rebar sticking straight up, and it sort of looks like one of those concrete columns might have punched through the deck.
Just asking but did anyone else have his voice cutting in and out I'm 1 minute in have restarted the video on my tablet not a problem before when I watch videos in the kitchen if now one is having a problem I know it's me Thanks for the input back from Windsor Ontario Sorry lol
Itermittent audio for all.
They are going to cut concrete column into chunks. Looks like
.. 5:22 .. A gargantuan hunk of concrete still to be removed from the bow. Andy do you know how or what they use to cut the concrete and rebar ?? That piece they just cut and removed looks so clean...Would like to see the process !!
Wow this is definitely some job security for some people right now that's pretty good
Is that a gigantic piece of concrete on the bow where a white tent is is set up?
It is!
LARGE PIECE on the centerline!
Quite honestly I’m surprised they haven’t removed the containers from farther back on the ship, since they are at the container yard.
.
🗝️ Key Bridge 🔑
.
New bridge - New name?
Very likely, there's been talk of it since the collapse here in Baltimore.
Somthing to the effect of Francis Scott Key was racist and or owned slaves, Maryland is predominantly a "woke" state and has removed confederate statues a few years back. History phobic so to speak.
@@JohnShinn1960 There will probably be a campaign to call it the "Woke" Bridge.
Curious as to when they are going to start unloading all of those containers. And why no cranes on the dock?
Say ,those dark grey huts like structsors are they living quarters ?
It almost looks like that left leg of the support is separated from the cross piece. Will they lift that whole left leg out next?
I'm wondering if they will section that pier into thirds.
🙏👍💯
Hunger games - no food getting in there
Question @5:44 you can see what appear to be multiple lines/bars/somethings extending from next to right side of the saddle straight down as seen from the drone. They look like they extend down through the deck vertically any ideas as to what they are?
the ship turned out to be tough and didn't go down
how did they cut that? when did they cut that?
At this rate, the Dali won't be leaving until after the new bridge is built!😂🤣
I SEE AREA'S WHERE THY SHOULD BE GETTING STUFF OFF AND INSTEAD LETS SIT AND HAVE A PICNIC !!!
SOS! Tomorrow will be the same and the day after and so on!!+
There sure isn't a lot of activity there. How much money does it cost to have this sit there with all the people not getting their containers? Is this going to go for another Year?
Imagine for one moment you had to extract a bus that plowed into your house overnight, but you also had gas lines, water lines, electrical lines, etc. you didn't want to cook off and unalive everyone in said house. That is a bit of what the salvage crew is engaged with here. They're not in the way of other ships. There is no time pressure to keep everyone safe and to keep the fatality count to six souls, so they will take their time and get everyone home safely every damn day. Safety first. If someone's cargo sits a few more weeks, no one will die as a result, but rushing moving multi-ton debris can easily end up with people in the hospital. So they are working the many complex, puzzle piece demolition problems as quickly as safety rules and regulations permit.
@@OfficiallyUnofficialAlCooper I worked in heavy industry for years, both in demolition, and construction. This is the most anemic site I've seen. And your house analogy... shut the gas, water and electricity off.. 20 minutes. That site is large enough you could approach it from many sides without interfering with each other. And it does effect people waiting for their goods. Bushiness's going bankrupt, lots of distress. Likely its the insurance company that is holding this up, because of the expense of a more multi-faceted approach.
@@craig7350 You have the far superior knowledge on demolition and construction. I've only ever been a weekend handyman, so I respect your much more accurate assessment of the Dali deck and hull cleanup. My suspicion is the owners of the Dali want it made safe to sail to Norfolk for more extensive repairs, and they're paying for the smallest, least expensive crew possible to remove the rest of the bridge supports and twisted shipping containers. I think Dr. Sal on What's Going on with Shipping had some videos talking about legal declarations the Dali's owners made right after the accident to reduce their financial exposure for the delayed and destroyed cargo containers. But I'm not a former merchant marine or attorney, and I suspect others on the channel can better fill in those gaps of information. Be safe out there, and here's to the salvage crew safely getting the Dali fully cleared of debris and seaworthy to sail down to Norfolk.
They have not done much lately except for that concrete cut, you say everyday you look at it they have done something well they haven't you have been away and there has been no footage of the bow/deck of the MV dali, that live stream channel is useless.
Finally an outhouse, so they can stop peein in the river.
your audio keep dopping out
Probably a dumb question and possibly asked already. Why are the containers still onboard and not been lifted off now the Dali is berthed
Pointlessly inefficient.
@@firesurfer sorry. I don't understand. Inefficient. Why? Are the goods not being repatriated?
The weight of the containers is required to enable the ship to pass under the Bay bridge on route to Norfolk. If the containers were removed additional ballast would be required. The amount of ballast capacity is limited.
@@christopherrobinson7541 my apologies. I didn't realise it was being moved to Norfolk.
@@pete292 This was advised by the Unified Command before Dali was moved to the dock. I think that the plan is to remove some/all containers at Norfolk.
even the ship need bee remove off
Whoever has the contract for removing stuff off the ship is certainly milking the kitty for as much profit as they can. There are always plenty of "workers" walking backwards and forwards, bur seldom is there a worker working. While I have no love for the Chinese way, the Chinese would have had this cleared off by now.
What crappy audio
LOOKS LIKE ALL THY ARE DOING IS "" NOTHING "" !!!!!
