Very very helpful. I was perplexed on what was wrong with my grinder. Your video explained it very clearly. I ordered the fuse and I’m waiting for it now. Thanks again for taking the time to make this video.
thank you for such a detailed breakdown or teardown video. I just have one question seeing that I want to try and add an ionizer to my machine which is also a GEN one what do you think it would be possible to attach it to the current PCB?
Wow that was incredibly interesting! Fellow definitely chose the wrong guy to wave that derisory offer at. I'm in the market for a new grinder after my two Wilfa Swarts failed due to faulty capacitors (the pair lasted 2.5 years in total). I was going to go for an Ode, but now the Technivorm KM5, with its 5 year warranty, or a Eureka Brew Pro, are both firmly in the frame. Eureka make the internals for the KM5 in Florence, Italy, and the rest of the KM5 unit is assembled in the Netherlands. Both are very well supported by after-market parts. Not perfect for single dosing, but they both definitely offer an alternative to landfill in the event of failure.
Thanks for watching. Both of the grinders you mention look fantastic however pretty large difference in price. The Ode has been a good grinder aside from it failing and poor support. Upgrading to the gen 2 burrs made a huge difference in grind quality as well as the range of grind (could never even think of doing espresso with gen 1).
@@In_Control_AC Are you grinding for espresso on it now? I just bought a gen1 and I want to mod it so it is more multi purpose as having two grinders isn´t in my range of possibilities rn.

Excellent, guide, man! Now to cannibalize another piece of equipment for a fuse…
The timing of your video is perfect. Watching it now and attempting to bypass my fuse.
Awesome, glad the video could help. Sorry for the poor video quality. Good luck on your repair!
