Really enjoying my Ode gen 2. Curious if you see value in doing burr alignment on these grinders? I’ve been considering doing it, but not sure if it’s worth the time invested. I’ve heard some even say that it’s barely noticeable after aligning.
I have a Gen 1 and upgraded to the Gen 2 Burrs and hopper. As long as you use RDT, it has been pretty clean. Fellow let's you upgrade almost everything - you can get the hopper, burrs, even the cup if you need to - it's pretty good value to. The oly thing is that for the hopper you need to get longer screws...
Just finished my first cup with the Gen 2 grinder, straight away great chocolaty flavor and density. Crazy how using a new grinder with the same beans gives such a different cup (was using an M47 with the pour over burr). I feel I got lucky on this one, I just want a clean smooth cup, and I love chocolate notes - I think this grinder would be a home run for novice coffee peeps. I am using a Chemex with Lifeboost coffee (my stomach likes these beans). Now I can move my M47 back to espresso where it belongs.
Great production value. No idea where this channel came from, dropping 3 reviews on the same day without explanation, but always cool to see more coffee content creators. Subbed, excited to see more stuff from this channel. With that said, I came away from the video wishing you had something to say about this grinder that hadn’t already been said. Given how long this grinder has been out for, I was expecting there to be more impressions from having used it for a long time, new issues you encountered , etc. It kind of feels like you only did a review on the Ode to give this new channel a boost, even though you didn’t really have anything to say on it. I actually think your discussion about the value proposition between an expensive grinder vs. an expensive batch brewer/grinding at a cafe was much more interesting, as it’s a subject that is rarely talked about.
Great feedback, I appreciate that! Transparently, I made this video right after the grinder was released, but was reluctant to put the video up - putting yourself out there is hard, but I’ve been pretty encouraged by everyone so more content will be coming!
@@rileywestbrook Ah, I see! Looking back at my previous comment, I regret having phrased my feedback in an accusatory way. It’s definitely not easy to put yourself out there and it isn’t my intention to stifle people’s creative output. Thank you for being receptive to the feedback and as I said earlier, excited to see more from this channel.
Cool review, Riley! I've been watching tons of reviews about the Ode and the Opus but I think I might be going for the Ode gen 2 since I want a grinder for brew methods and cold brew, and a different one just for espresso range as you mentioned in the video. I've seen several coffee shops that use the Ode for its brewing methods, so, I think it's a great value for money purchase and a reliable option too. Keep the reviews coming! ☕ Cheers from MX
@@Llaammiill a varia hand grinder, it had alooooooot of things that drove me nuts but I refuse to pay full price. Fellow took 20% off the Ode 2 for a day and I jumped … I still love it, had my hand grinder for years
@@robs1714 ahh okay, that should hopefully be an obvious upgrade 😀 I was thinking that you might have had a Comandante or a 1zpresso k-max. I am glad you are still happy with the Fellow.

The weller antique and eh Taylor in the background also 👀. Nice taste. Great review
Hah, thanks! Weller is unfortunately gone now 😂
I lost track of how many times you slapped that poor grinder! 😂
Bought it after watching your review thank you veryy much ♥️
A question whats the best grind number for V60 and Chemex ?

Super high quality videos with a good vibe and I'm getting in on the ground floor.

Thanks for watching, you’ll love the Ode!
Out of curiosity, what, setting on that new grinder are you finding best for automatic drip and what setting are you finding best for pour over?
With burrs chirping at 0, I’m doing flat bottom methods at 4, conical at 5, and drip on my Bonavita at 6.5-7
Your first 3 videos have been great man! Keep it up ☕️🤘
Thanks Aaron, really appreciate the kind words!
Is the cup magnetic? I couldn’t tell from the video.
Sure is
Your videos are excellent, keep it up and you'll get big!
Thanks so much, I appreciate the kind words!
Had mine for a week, better coffee produced than my hand grinder
What hand grinder do you have? And how long did you have it for? 😀
