I was a navy avionics technician for 12 years back in the day, now I'm a retired civilian avionics technician.
Did the USAF have the avionics split up, i.e avionics tech did radios and navigation, fire control techs did the radar and weapons systems, etc?
The navy use to do that when I first went in. They had AT, which is what I was, AQ... fire control tech, and then AX for the anti-submarine techs. They combined it all into one rate later on.
How much did it all cost? Cuz I wanna do the same one day

@@Miodu_ lol and how he's going to find all those switches? not possible this is the thing either you use VR and mouse or you get cockpit and 3 monitors.
I’m super curious about his throttle and what looks like a joystick setup for force input like the real thing!

@@Boeing-Aeronautica Made them myself or find on viperpits and so on. Need to be professional investigator to find these pieces sometimes x)

Ironically that's how the original F-16 stick was designed. Because of fly-by-wire the designers thought that the stick wouldn't need to move and could just be controlled using pressure, it was the pilots who wanted a stick that moved so there would be a more tactile/physical response to controlling the aircraft.

Huge ammounts of respect for your dedication, this is a fantastic build...
Though for me personally, something like this would be too "specific", immersion is gone the moment you´re flying any other plane.
I´ll probably stick to a generic setup with a button-box and/ or something like Game Glass... But yeah, always stunning to see what some simmers come up with :)

Dude how does a button-box and an ipad for your mfds not break immersion more than sitting in a different 1:1 fighter cockpit?
@@GooseMugs it doesn´t build up that immersion in the first place, so it can´t be broken..
@@RSProduxx actually, now i played with it a lot, i think avionic export (mfds display, ..) is not about immersion but about it's "convenient" or "comfort".
The immersion comes from the seat, controls, gear lever, position of your legs and arm and the way you fly in the sim.

Great build! Would it be possible to tilt the stick forward 10-20 degrees like on the real jet? It would make the neutral position of the stick be at a more natural position than standings straight up.
I have the piece for, but need to install it. As the F16 grip from thrusmaster has weak screw holes, i would lile to soldier it :)

Amazing build! I'm torn between building this or sticking with VR. 2 completely different immersion experiences. The cockpit is great because you feel in touch with the aircraft. VR is great because you feel in touch with the surroundings. In a perfect world you could blend them but I'd go for the flap control and somehow hit the fuel dump lol.
That is where the Varjo vr mixed reality comes in to give the best of both worlds.

GEE WHIZ THAT’S STELLAR!
I'm quoting f16 simulated lrus to Lockheed's now. About 12 different units. Mfd's, center pedestal display, ded, icp, landing gear panel and some more. We build the real stuff including exterior light, nvis light plates, lighting control and more. Most f16 have our lights. We do a lot and did a lot of the nvis upgrades (mlu). This is cool.
Need to buy some parts from you then! 😅
And I'm guessing the Nomex gloves go on in winter for full authenticity.
This is a sick ass build brotha, I would love to do this.
