Trading bots truly ruined what was once a fun side-hobby in the game, and no one ever spoke up against them for years in the same manner people did with Casual Mode bots because people actually find benefits for them for convenience sake at the cost of ruining a living, breathing community and economy. There might also be the fact that the whole Counter-Strike like system Valve introduced since Gun Mettle in 2015 (with the FOMO-like rarity tiers, trade-ups and stuff) also slowly deteriorated the economy alongside the aforementioned bots, as well as no longer having big, popular places for people to actually trade in like TF2Outpost (r.i.p.).
@@InsertNameHRM The magic of a free market system and a virtual market economy is the simulation of real economies. You can't just block optimisations, nor can you prevent margins from shrinking, even if you do block this type of stuff it will simply be circumvented. However it is simply too slow. It used to be quicker. In a way trade bots actually help here as it allows for some level of trading to still be done without other people. It's a system with arguably more complexity than that of csgo with at the very best 1/10th the userbase.
@@trevor245 I feel like that's the issue at large with modern TF2, where the modern playerbase doesn't wanna bother to try anything outside of Casual Mode play despite how much the same community boasts about all the capabilities the game has. Nobody bothers to trade items anymore because it's just easier to buy from bots or directly with money on the marketplace when needed (or people are just simply content with what they have and play as is), nobody bothers to create and play on community servers because Casual Mode already exists to fill the itch your average player has when playing the game (as well as how they dismiss the community servers experience as being "gimmicky garbage that's not as well designed as the official gamemodes and maps"). It truly is one of the many reasons why the game has been going downhill, even with the recent banwave from a couple months ago.
The one I hate the most is the Goku one. Whenever I try to trade with him someone else trades using the refined I tried to use in my trade which causes me to retry the entire trade. Its not too bad when the item is like 6 refined but the problem becomes apparent when you're trying to buy/sell a 40 refined item.

i miss tf2 trading honestly. i remember doing a little from 2014-2017 and i had a lot of fun. the time spent to profit made ratio was pretty shit but that wasn't the point imo. just chilling on vatican city and seeing the same ppl gave me a feeling of community i have yet to experience again online.
One thing I would mention is that you were on the right track with the AWPer Hand craft, I don't think the AWP Hand itself is profitable to craft but there's some weapons out there which are, if you do the maths there's some which net you profit in the long term. Won't say which ones though...
I love this series!! Specially since i was finally be able to trade after 5 YEARS, I finally got out of my Free-to-Play shell and go into the Tf2 wasteland market 😅
I’m sure you know what your doing but the thing that got me from 2 keys to 5 was really painted cosmetics trading which is the best way imo to get out asap from low tier, awesome video either way!!
Hey I'm figuring out how to trade at the same time! I have a pretty fun story behind it too. I look forwards to watching this series as it goes! Tips and tricks will alllllways be appreciated and I will be watching this as a tutorial.
@@eksd5363 Bro all my comments got deleted, where i was suggesting a good trading strategy. So go and check deleted comments in youtube creators studio.
I am most certainly the reason STN is devoid of painted cosmetics. I'm not even flipping them, I give them away as a way to remember how horrible it was to trade up via auctioning painted cosmetics. I simply do not want others to go through the pain of having their bidder no-show on a hat they've been trying to pawn for over a week.
it's always great to see this kind of stuff. this takes me back to when i was a poor kid would sit in stn and scam them for money, and stay up late to make about 2 ref per hour worth of trading.
i did scrap to unusual around 2015 i used the trading card method but oh well... rare to see someone doing it in 2024!! Good luck hope you can do it !!
Looking forward to this - what a fun throwback to the time when these kind of videos were more common! Either way, I did notice that in-game trading got fucked recently, as every time someone would send me a trade offer in-game, TF2 would crash or just freeze for like 20 seconds
no it wouldn't. lowtier trading is just wasting time. i learned the hard way. better invest in crates, they pay off better and you don't even do anything
You can resell vaccinators for around .55 ref You can also fill specialized killstreak fabricators then put it onto a unique weapon for like 3-5 ref profit for each fabricator its great
This vid made me get off my toocus and finally start trading myself. I liquefied my tf2 inv and now I have no idea what to do lmao. Really interested to see where this series goes and if I can also trade my way up to an unusual. 1 to actually say I traded up for something nice and 2 to actually have a decent hat to wear. Happy trading everyone!
Trading tutorial videos don't want you to know this one simple trick to skip searching and waiting for profits: >reach 13.88 refined >purchase 5 freelance+ or strange items for 2.77 ref each >craft civilian grade stat clock >sell to bot for 1 refined profit >repeat until rich (I am totally not lobbying stat clock crafting pls I need a ton of them and don't want to craft)
You could become the worlds richest trader off this series, and this episode making low tier trading fun to watch would still be a bigger accomplishment. Seriously so well edited!
I was doing this a bunch before the Gladiator incident. There were so many scrap weapons that had collectors buying for 0.11 and I would just sit on scraptf and stn trading all of my garbage and doubling my scrap
I stopped trading in TF2 when they added the 7 day trade restriction Now I just do irl rags to riches.. aka I buy stuff for cheap, sell it for more then use that money to buy whatever I want
As a kid I always dreamed of doing a rags to riches myself, not totally from nothing like this though. Now that I’m grown up I sorta want to give it a shot, kinda wanna buy like 10-20 keys and see how far I can go. Great vid! ❤
