I don't use the crane for extra cargo, it greatly raises up the centre of mass making it easier to roll over in bad terrain. I will load a full-trailer and use the winch to haul it.
Same issue, unless you are going in a straight line, you are likely to lose your second trailer to tipping. longer loads are not always better than higher ones. depends entirely on the situation
If you have the Khan 39, put a freeway gearbox in. If you do that, when at a complete stop, start in automatic, then quickly shift to high, and then shift back. It takes you from 1st gear to 5th instantly, and you take off like a rocket

Well you caught me with 2 things I didn't know. And I reached level 30 with all contracts complete. Didn't know stock fenders/mudlflaps could be removed. Or the saddle trick with the trailer store.
Another quick tip. if you really must use auto-winch, switch to cockpit cam as it tends to latch onto where you're looking much much better than in 3rd person.
Thanks for some good tips. On a side note in most videos you always choose the off-road gearbox or snowrunner gearbox and I feel like when you go on long expeditions where you plan to explore and do a maximum of simple tasks before going home or to a fuel station or even cross a fuel trailer or trailer shop, you should minimize fuel consumption with a standard gearbox which saves a lot of fuel. The normal low gear is enough in most situations imo.
Another tip that I feel like should be worth mentioning is when shifting between Forward and Reverse gears. If you're quick-enough, it's faster to manually shift from Reverse to Low>Auto>High and from Low/Auto/High to Reverse than it is to allow the Auto gear to shift between Forward and Reverse.
What I did in Michigan when I completed it was go collect every trailer and take them back to the trailer store and made about 50k or more theres a tip aswell lol love all the tips so helpful
I do not even know. The economy in this game is broken. I constantly have hundreds of thousands of dollars in my account, and even more. I only sell trailers if it's on the way.
It's a bit unrealistic/unethical though. You're basically stealing from the store owner. Sometimes I rationalise it by telling myself I'm a good customer and will have given them a fair bit of genuine business over the years.
Wow I have over 1k hours into this game and I didn’t even know you could shift the auto. I always just slam’er into high gear when the auto starts to bog or downshift hahah good to know
wtf, u cant have more than 1k hours in this game, wtf, why do u lie? I have completed the whole game for 250 hours (5 days in EGS). 1k hours are about 42 days, u cant play 42 days without sleeping and eating, man, this is bad!
Same here didn't know that the game will install the right saddle. Good to know. Makes sense now why both the high and low are free just for that reason lol
@@stazzco no think about it. On all compatible trucks the 2 saddles are both free. There's a reason for that so you can do like what was described in the video. Makes sense now. Otherwise they would make you buy them
5:56 you literally did the same thing a noob would do... but with extra steps. What "I" would do is station that trailer somewhere out in the field where I know I'll be working and going back 'n forth so that I have a fuel station in my area when gas stations / garage are far outside my range.
Useful tip: buy buying fuel/repair trailers, using them quickly and then selling them without driving on, you can use trailer stores as quick repair stations and fuel stations.
I don't know whether someone wrote or not, but let it be: 1) Speed can be picked up faster than manually shifting gears. After the truck has started, turn on an overdrive, and then back to automatic. The car will already be in the penultimate gear and will have the required speed to engage the last gear. 2) For descending a mountain or any other steep climb, engage a downshift. This will prevent the car from rolling off the mountain too quickly, even at idle speed, and you can comfortably drive the truck. 3) To avoid skidding at high speeds (especially when driving with a fully loaded load), do not apply the brake before turning. Release the accelerator pedal and the truck will slow down. This will allow you to drive around the bend at a comfortable speed and then accelerate quickly. It takes practice to figure out when to release the gas pedal. Or as in the previous tip, downshift before making a turn. You are guaranteed to change the speed. It's better than full speed braking and skidding anyway. Sorry for the mistakes, English is not my first language.
Definitely taught me a couple things, I've easily got 100 hours in this game and didn't know about the auto shift trick, or the fact that you can sell components. I probably should have known the second one.
Keep in mind that the transmission is a manual transmission, which means there's a clutch simulated, thus the reason down shifting isn't really a thing (as you would lose pretty much all your momentum when you engage the clutch to down shift a single gear so when you downshift you may as well go all the way to first). Automatic transmissions function differently and are the better suited to smooth downshifting on an uphill, and "forced" shifting is another point of ignoring the clutch aspect of the game since in the time that you're tapping that shift button the person in the truck would have to engage the clutch, pull out of the gear he was in, disengage then reengage the clutch, then shift into the new gear and disengage the clutch... that's a lot of things he has to do in the time you hold down the shift button to achieve this action. In other words, forced shifting is an exploit, it's fine if you want to use it, but it's important for people to understand what exactly they're doing.
Also there is a glitch in multiplayer that makes the winch absolutely solid. if you roll up to your homie and put the winch on him and don't move controller and he winches, you are completely solid to the ground like a tree. If you move your controller you become the weight of the vehicle again. Super useful if you are a small truck and he rolled a large truck.
Never knew about the forced gear change and the wedged scout pull I might try to use those. However when it comes to crane loading I prefer having a separate crane truck and a delivery truck. I don't wanna risk putting a 2 slot cargo on top of two single slot ones and hold it down with a crane. I always prepare and plan my deliveries.
they should make the trailers not supply fuel automatically, I think vehicle addons should still have fuel in it because you are in the garage where trucks get refueled
@@smolderingawesome i can see that going both ways, but i liked the free fuel better on mudrunner since you didn't get over 200 liters for reaching the garage. Takes away the challenge of the game in my opinion. I'm puzzled on why they don't offer bigger fuel tanks like they did on mudrunner. Don't see how a 3 tank truck like the twinsteer only has a 360 liter capacity.
I just started playing SnowRunner this week, after years of saying how cool it, MudRunner and SpinTires looked. There is actually some really useful stuff here for new players.
Cargo management one: if you get a truck that can have flatbed, crane, and still use a trailer (fleetstar and a few others i believe), you can use the crane +flatbed for 3/4 slots of cargo, and the ramped flatbed for another 4 slots of cargo. but you must keep in mind as wel @SD1ONE that crane and cargo affect fuel consumption and ptw too
Some good tips. I however have never seen AWD using more fuel. Occasionally uses more fuel while accelerating, however you will be at max speed earlier and at full speed just going it seems to be the same amount.
a tip when there is not much space and you have a tricky winching job as i used this with CK1500 to pull a truck out of the swamp: i placed the truck sideways and use the opposite winch point causing the truck to lift itself sideways, and when it start i stop winching and let gravity do the heavy-lifting, its slow and tedious but doable.
EdrumSense That analogy doesn’t work, but ok. Alternatively you could get mods if you’re on PC, but for console players that hasn’t been implemented yet.
I wouldn't say noob vs pro more like hey here are some tips from a novice. here's the best tips I can give scout the entire map first. 2nd place fuel trailer at main crossroads for easy access also service trailers where the terrain is rough for fast repairs. 3rd take a crane truck and load the cargo you get from different locations(warehouse, service hub, factory and etc.) In the yard of the location so it shows up when you look at the map. It makes it faster to locate on a glance and you can plan pickups along the way just be sure to space them out in the yard so they don't overlap on the map view. 4th Repair all roads before starting contracts.5th cranes make the trucks top heavy and tip easy so don't leave them on unless you need them make sure you have the right gear for the job take your time enjoy the game and admire the hard work put into it with all the details and go explore every thing. 6th the long route is sometimes the best route and enjoyable unless you like to challenge yourself, however driving a huge truck and trailer through some of these trails will only lead to you wasting hours of your time before turning around or restarting the mission. (I've watched ppl go through half the game fouling everything up by rushing and then blaming the game. It's about strategy and patience)
Me a super pro: honestly i didn't know that you could get a saddle at the trailer store. But something i think works better as far as auto shifting. I find it better to skip gears by putting it into auto, get moving and then shift into high and then back into auto. It will skip a few gears. Also on hills start with auto then shift into high versus going through low and then into high.
Thanks a lot, made a mistake of installing low bumper on White just couple of days ago. Kept wondering why it gets damaged so much with its big 47's. One thing I could add is: use winch as a safety when making a turn on uneven ground with unstable vehicle. For example, on Dam, there's a turn in woods below gas station (where the forest clears, there's a rock left of the turn, and beach on the right). So Paystar flips there easily. You can winch it on a side mount before starting to make the turn. I.e. get to the rock, winch left side to the trees on the rock, and make the turn. Don't manually pull it. The winch will prevent completely flipping the vehicle and stalling the engine. Just make sure you're on level ground when releasing the winch otherwise you can flip from momentum.
old comment i know but i recently started playing snow runners again and i actually flipped my paystar in that exact spot your talking about, boy was it a pain flipping it back up and getting it up that steep incline
Some of those tips ruin the immersion or make it actually more difficult. 1) Winching. When winching from mud, it is sometimes better to let fuel burn in the towed truck, the plus side being that the towed truck does magor work for itself, and pulls itself from mud better, thus allowing you not to spin wheels, and sink or waste fuel. 2) Repair and refuel. I prefer to play realistically, so I have at least a dedicated fuel truck, which has a full cistern at all times. You don't see real life vehicles swap parts and refuel out of thin air, do you? 3) Rescuing big trucks. Again, realism. Have you ever seen a succesful recovery of a truck by a 4*4 car? To recover a truck, you at least need a comparable mass. Something only SLIGHTLY less heavy. 4) Manual loading. Near as I can tell, massive things can't jump in space. Also, you can't expect a GUY to even move the cargo with his two hands. So no, you should detach trailer, put the cargo as straight as you can, then fasten it. Frankly, while I understand recovery, saves and all the other things, I'm dissapointed that game lets you get away with the things I listed.
A real professional at the game scans his surroundings on the map and picks the best route, even if he is in a good vehicle, he actively switches from auto to low and high on rugged terrain, and pays attention to the damage and fuel so he can get to the place and get back to the garage. They will pay attention to tire shape in upgrades to see which is the best, stats don't tell you everything, if you are a begginer at any realistic offroading game like snowrunner, mudrunner, etc
Something I stumbled across is if you’re done with your vehicle that is fully upgraded instead of taking the time to sell each individual part off before you sell the vehicle, sell the vehicle with all the parts on it and you’ll make up the money instantly if you’re going to purchase a better truck
The main difference i have observed between pro players and noob players is how they choose their path. A noob will follow the road and just try to drive from A - B not paying enough attention to road condition while a pro will look for any bad spots and try to avoid them, the terrain next to the road is often a better option than the road itself in this game
0:46 Learned. I only use A-->H-->A or L3-->H-->A gear shifting for better acceleration, A-->H-->L3 for hill climbing. It works fine since offroad gearbox usually have only 4 forward gears. 4:39 Now I know the purpose of N gear, save more fuel when towed. 6:55 Just learned, maybe that's why sadles are free? 7:55 If no tree around, I will dig hole deliberately, then stay in the hole with parking brake to work like leaning against a tree. 8:079:04 I thought bumper and fenders are only decoration . 11:11 Learned.
@@jeffhack4557 I watched one vid of yours and they are so fucking laggy so I didn’t even made it to 15 seconds in your video. Is your pc a potato or what ?
Despite being a very experienced pro player since before Mudrunner was even a thing I haven't discovered force gear shifting by myself. It seriously was a big discovery for me! As for the auto transmission in mud: you can either save fuel or save your time. When properly equipped the vehicle can drive through mud in auto considerably faster. Especially the big rigs. For my playstyle fuel is never a concern, I'm not afraid of wasting it too much. As or overloading the vehicle - doubious technique. First you have to carry a crain which sucks. Secondly, you seriously wanna drive from task to task with (over-) loaded trailer? If the warehouse is in some deadly offroady area - than fine. But I prefer just winch the second truck and load two trailers. And I never try to finish the map in one day so I can easily have one more trip to the warehouse on the next day. Especially on the road-biased maps like first two Michigan maps
Using winch. I didn't know there was a manual winch. Like, I would keep doing the auto-winch trying to get the specific tree I want, but I keeps getting other stuff.

I've never knew about the cargo and gear shifting til now. Thanks a ton! 🙏
Never really thought of the trailer store as a "Garage" in disguise, that is quite wise and its going to help me a lot
It's a bit unrealistic/unethical though. You're basically stealing from the store owner. Sometimes I rationalise it by telling myself I'm a good customer and will have given them a fair bit of genuine business over the years.
I just play like a noob its more fun 🤣
agreed, noob always have more fun
@@SD1ONE XD
Yeah pros come to this game with a suitcase like its a 9-5 job, whereas noobs are like kids and you can do almost whatever you want
Wow I have over 1k hours into this game and I didn’t even know you could shift the auto. I always just slam’er into high gear when the auto starts to bog or downshift hahah good to know
credit goes to "it's Mr lone wolf" check out his channel for more such tips....I am fan of this guy myself
SD1ONE, yes 2 great channels that deserve to be monetized out the yin yang for their quality content!
@@Oneiros1 you can, you click the button that you use to engage AWD, Did lock, and headlights. It's LB on Xbox, I think it's called L1 on PS4.
wtf, u cant have more than 1k hours in this game, wtf, why do u lie? I have completed the whole game for 250 hours (5 days in EGS). 1k hours are about 42 days, u cant play 42 days without sleeping and eating, man, this is bad!
Yeah there's no way you have over 1000 hours in this game already as it's not been out long enough for that to even be possible.
7:02 is news to me. I constantly pick the wrong saddle and get annoyed when I have to go back and change it.
happened with me too...
i think its a bug and will be fixed soon...
Otherwise they would make you buy them
My iPad finally turned on from being flat just in time for this video.
Lol
That’s cool but no one remembers asking
Cool story bro
zander that’s cool but no one remembers asking for your opinion.
Who..... cares
5:56 you literally did the same thing a noob would do... but with extra steps. What "I" would do is station that trailer somewhere out in the field where I know I'll be working and going back 'n forth so that I have a fuel station in my area when gas stations / garage are far outside my range.
Imagine crawling back to the garage to buy trailer, takes 6 more clicks to refuel and repair and then sell it, then saying that's "pro"
Useful tip: buy buying fuel/repair trailers, using them quickly and then selling them without driving on, you can use trailer stores as quick repair stations and fuel stations.
11:29 a pro would use a sideboard trailer
could you please tell me why? what's the difference?
It doesn't seem necessary. Why do you say this?
It does make a difference, sideboards can tip further before the straps break and dump the cargo
@@movinmetal2596 But that has nothing to do with the tip shown at 11:29.
11:29 is an odd time-mark but I believe the original post is referencing the use of the flatbed semi-trailer
Great video! Lots of helpful hints there. Subbed.
Вот это концентрат и никакой воды! Я думал я про в игре но половины фишек не знал... Спасибо!!
I don't know whether someone wrote or not, but let it be:
1) Speed can be picked up faster than manually shifting gears.
Ngl, I didn’t even know you could sell parts😂😂😂. Thankyou for this video. Very very helpful!!!
I’ve reached lvl 30 and I learnt something new lol (Great Vid)

Played this for ages never knew you could manually change up/down gear .Thank you
even after playing this for 2 months I still learnt so much.
As someone who just started, lots of these are really good tips, thanks a lot! :)
ruclips.net/channel/UC1_VdqcA4qitA3yLrFuYgfA
I hope they make a hard core mode. No recovering, no fuel when you buy a fuel trailer. No auto loading. Like the good ol mud runner hardcore days
they should make evacuation and auto loading for money
they should make the trailers not supply fuel automatically, I think vehicle addons should still have fuel in it because you are in the garage where trucks get refueled
@@vladvulcan agreed
@@smolderingawesome i can see that going both ways, but i liked the free fuel better on mudrunner since you didn't get over 200 liters for reaching the garage. Takes away the challenge of the game in my opinion. I'm puzzled on why they don't offer bigger fuel tanks like they did on mudrunner. Don't see how a 3 tank truck like the twinsteer only has a 360 liter capacity.
@Kyle Reese lol i tried loading logs after a while. I got as fuck and quit. I read its supposed to come back in future DLC
I just started playing SnowRunner this week, after years of saying how cool it, MudRunner and SpinTires looked. There is actually some really useful stuff here for new players.
Thanks a lot, I didn't know that clutch kicking will force gear switch.
Great video, I think you make the best snowrunner videos out there. Keep it up champ ::)
I found this video very humorous, thank you for the laughter of being a pro on a video game instead of enjoying the game for what it is.
The best videos I’ve seen so far researching this game.
Didnt know you can actually force shift. I wished a manuall transmission so many times. Thanks ;).
This is amazing video!!
Thanks for all the tips!!
I've been stacking loads but it makes it very unstable. Especially with me being an absolute lunatic behind the wheel.
a tip when there is not much space and you have a tricky winching job as i used this with CK1500 to pull a truck out of the swamp:
i placed the truck sideways and use the opposite winch point causing the truck to lift itself sideways, and when it start i stop winching and let gravity do the heavy-lifting, its slow and tedious but doable.
I didn’t even know you can sell parts...
I’m finna be so much richer when I get back on
Even sell trailers, best to leave the engine upgrades until you find best engine upgrades as some fit in many trucks.
I also wait for the auto-shift but thats because i have a blunt in my other hand.
Call me when snowrunned adds a hardcore mode and the physics of spintires
You can make it hardcore yourself by refusing to use certain features.
@@ZETH_27 you can also talk alone to yourself at home.... But you know it's not the same as speaking to someone real
The tips in this video are useful for knowing the truck side of the game. I definitely recommend them. 👌
Awesome video. There’s traps all over the muddy roads set to turn you over. Nothing worse that turning your cargo over with like 3 feet to go. 🤣
ah, I was waiting for this thanks
same lol
The shifting doesn’t even matter even if you can make it shift faster, I can make it faster before it hits top gear
I’m getting vucko100 vibes watching this vid, keep up the good work man!
i dont appreciate you calling me out like this.
Now me not noob anymore! Thanks! Will start playing as pro! (Watching this while installing Snow Runner.)

Very nice! Thanks for the tips, it will help a lot in the game...
Force that gear shift in real life and your transmission will go REEEEEEEEEEEE
Ever heard of this thing called clutch?
irl you don't need to force it, you have full control, wtf?
The saddle and cargo loading tips are excellent, and here I thought I was a pro!
Something I stumbled across is if you’re done with your vehicle that is fully upgraded instead of taking the time to sell each individual part off before you sell the vehicle, sell the vehicle with all the parts on it and you’ll make up the money instantly if you’re going to purchase a better truck
Cool, I always wondered that.
The main difference i have observed between pro players and noob players is how they choose their path. A noob will follow the road and just try to drive from A - B not paying enough attention to road condition while a pro will look for any bad spots and try to avoid them, the terrain next to the road is often a better option than the road itself in this game
Nice. I enjoy your videos. Thank you for making them.
I've just started to play this game ... your video is really useful man :)

This actually was really help full, thank you!
nice video i like the cargo one. didnt knew this ;0
btw the sound between clips... Is this a Witcher 3 vision mode sound ? :)
I learned so much from this. Thank you. Easy sub. 😊
Wow some real nuggets in there thx. The buy a trailer to refuel is just so good.
Same with the saddle tip. Good job.
8:07 9:04 I thought bumper and fenders are only decoration .
11:11 Learned.

I’m level 14 and didn’t know some of these tips
Especially on the road-biased maps like first two Michigan maps
tips are conditional, they can't be always applicable but it's good to know what you can do in this game
Using winch. I didn't know there was a manual winch. Like, I would keep doing the auto-winch trying to get the specific tree I want, but I keeps getting other stuff.
