It is such a cool thing to be able to see where SnowRunner is coming from after all this time. It's rare that we can see such an early version of the game as they are usually not released, or they are a full release game everybody has seen before. It was a great and original idea to show everyone the origin of this game and how it slowly evolved through advancements and struggles, maybe the devs should take a look at this and remember what this game is all about. Keep up the good work!!

I feel kinda disappointed in how they stopped paying attention to the finer details, and had a greater focus on American trucks rather than Russian ones. Hell, the Russian ones are redesigned so that they are barely recognizable from their originals! Also, they got rid of the soviet and American vehicles having different addons and trailers. That was very disappointing.

My first experience with this franchise was a long time ago when I watched Tomcat 7900 playing Spintires, and for a long time I wanted to play the game.
Years later, I got my first taste when Mudrunner was free on Epic Games, so I got it on my nana's old laptop.
It was quite a decent experience, and the game was pretty interesting.
After a while I started installing mods, and oh boy some Mudrunner mods are really fun and insane. A little side note, I really wish some Mudrunner mods would be brought into Snowrunner, like the Offroad Hippopotamus, Sinotruck Howo 8x8, Kamaz Polarnik, both Liebherr cranes, Ural 4320 rescuer, and others that I've forgotten. Mods made Mudrunner way more fun and way more tolerable, and I'm glad that the Cybertruck from Mudrunner made it to Snowrunner, though it sucks that it's balanced in Snowrunner, when it used to god tier in Mudrunner because it had infinite fuel, was indestructible, and had no engine hitbox so it could go underwater.
Back on topic, I eventually got Snowrunner on my nana's old laptop, but it couldn't handle the game, so the fps was really really bad, but I still played.
But then last year for my birthday I got a gaming laptop, and I was able to play Snowrunner properly, and I recently got Mudrunner working again after getting all the mods sorted and fixed.
It's been quite a journey that I hope I'll never forget.

Ive played all 3 games with a friend as they came out. I remember when Mudrunner came out, and with the dlc. We were so excited for the Dlc with the skidder, forwarder, 4x2 tractor, etc. Fuckin hated that 4x2 tractor lmao. Man that american dlc was the shit. My friend drove the blazer, Id take the ford, and we would go around the map scouting shit out, then hop in the trucks. Was pure bliss. When Snowrunner came out, it was such an amazing experience. That experience got even better with each update, and each new season with new maps, and vehicles. Will always love this series to death.

SnowRunner's Season 4 and upcoming Season 8 are both 4 maps with huge amount of content and new cargo types.

Ok, so another updated commentary from me... WOW! So well done! :D. I had personally heard about Spintires I think in a year 2016, and I was instantly amazed, although I dont know why, I didnt ever buy it until now. But then I had bought an Czech kid and grownups magazine called ABC, and on the back side, there was an poster saying: Musrunner, a spintires game. I KNEW instantly I would buy it. And so, shortly after release I did. In 2019, my BF also joined, so for Mudrunner, I had completed it 4 times, 2x solo both classic and hardcore and 2x with friends in duos. Although, I didnt buy the American wilds DLC, I didnt like it much back then. And then In January 2020 I think, I was here at SD1One"s channel and saw video Titled Musrunner 2 or something like that. And I was amazed yet skeptical about the USA being major in the game now, but I keeped an eye on it, later discovering that it might be really freakin good. And surely after when official release datwas known, and "pandemy" existing, I didnt wasted any second and Preordered right away. Was probably the best game I have ever bought, considering how much playtime I have spent until now for such low price, the fact that it was perfect for pandemy-home time, and also all the great memories until now, simply amazing game :) . I am also glad I am not traitor, because of the despute during Spintires, when playing Mudrunner I felt like a thief, glad originall author agreed on it, also he is ultimate legend! :D Thank you SO MUCh for this one, and I really hope you will do one more separate on Snowrunner ;) .
PS: I will also post on our discord for other members to watch! :D ;)

Huge thanks for touching on the dev debates. Ive been with this game since 2013 and was always pissed at how it was the modding community that had to work hard to keep the game alive. I dont think mudrunner or snowrunner would be what it is today without seeing what was possible with the modders. There are HUNDREDS of maps, and more vehicles I can count for the original Spintires.

Absolutely brilliant. I remember the release of Mudrunner when I was in high school and I used to love it. I've recently started playing it again with the Adega mod pack. It's quite interesting to see the demos and such as they are quite niche. I've played all main games, the most recent being Spintires where I acquired a Steam key. It's such a shame I missed the opportunity back in the day to buy it directly. Still I got all DLCs from a friend so that's good. All games have something unique like Spintire's Chernobyl, tire deflate and original vehicle grilles. Mudrunner is a bit more enjoyable for me thanks to the quality of life updates, but Snowrunner is my favourite as I love the old American trucks and as the American Wild one's are not too good. Great work all three of you thumbs up from me what a epic collab 👍👍

I felt in love with spintires in 2014 when i saw it for the first time. After couple months i bought PC that can handle ST and finally play it... It was like an dream game for me. I've been playing it after school to late night time, sleeping 5 hours and go to school. My life looked like this for 3 weeks straight. Later i also played it but less often of course. Somewhen my dad saw me playing it and he felt in love too. He is a big truck fan. When i was little kid my dad played ets, big mutha trucker, 18 wheels of steel Haulin, Conwoy, etc and i've watching him beeing fascinated. Spintires had such a good vibe in it, good physics, truck, maps. Later Mudrunner was OK but it wasn't same game. I mean it was also good but not that much. Of course when i have been playing SpinTires i could feel that the game have big potential and wanted something bigger, with money, more maps, more cars, some kind of leveling system, when you get better trucks with time, experience etc. And then Saber announced the new Snowrunner game and i was fascinated about it, couse it was like my dream version of Spintires, with all thing that i wanted to see in there. I bought SR on launch day and played it 50 hours+ and get bored. I don't know what is wrong with this game, but it feels like it is made for beginners. First map is American, what at the start lost that ST vibe. Of course there was Russian map, but... i don't feel it at all. Now most of those DLCs contains some winter maps or American. Snowrunner isn't game that i wanted to see, but my dad plays it all the time on his xbox and he have a lot of fun. Anyway i would like to see the spintires game but on bigger Russian maps, with more cities, jobs and trucks. But with the same vibe.
Very interesting video man, good job!

    • @kwarkon1

I think SR gameplay feels bland not because it is easier, but because it lacks dynamic terrain physics.
In MR the tires could dig into the soil and change its physicals properties, so it mattered how you drove through terrain, and the road could become more muddy.
In showrunner it feels static, your truck will either just move, move slowly or get stuck, but the terrain will always be the same ( only visual changes). This is especially apparent and immersion braking with deep snow - where trucks struggle the same way in fresh snow and already flattened snow....
Also SR has terrible sound that is tied to tire RPM instead of engine RPM, so you can get immersion braking situations where your trucks fights with all its might on first gear to go uphill but you get almost idle sound from the engine .....

    • @trombulan
      @trombulan Год назад

@@kwarkon1 agree with all you said. Yes, SR give players more diverse missions but it lost that driving therapy that ST had and It appeared just to grindy for me. I'd rather have pleasure driving with same logs and rice...

The spintires series has been a great addition to the world of driving sims. For me Snowrunner is the best realistic trucking simulation out there and has one of the best driving physics engines which was originally created by Pavel and used in all the spintires games including Snowrunner. Personally, Snowrunner is at the top of the list and a big part of that is it has an insane amount of content. Has real world licensed trucks, Believe it or not there is over 80+ trucks/vehicles and 12 map dlc's with over 20 maps, And is still getting added to. Year 4 adding 10 more map's and roughly 10 more vehicles. Bringing the total to 30 maps and 16 map dlc's and more than 90 trucks! Not to forget the addition of Hard mode and New game plus. The game has an amazing amount of content and dlc's which you dont see very often in todays gaming. Its constantly getting updated, bug fixes and resolving issues and changes to trucks as needed.. Im glad snowrunner has gotten the fanbase it does today. The reddit and discord is full of people wanting to give advice and help out new runners playing the game looking for advice and sharing ideas and thoughts with each other! I first found out about this game when I was looking for a driving simulation game on Android for my youngest kiddo in late 2021. After that I started looking for the PC version. And I started playing Mudrunner and Snowrunner until now. You can't just step on the pedal and then go fast like in other driving games, but you have to think about other aspects to complete the missions. I always play it over and over again and really enjoy this game. This is the best driving simulation game I have ever played. Big fans.....

Regarding What SR did better, It depends on if player has played MR or not and many SR players never played MR but the one who do understands howany new features are introduced in SR... difference is so big that we can say that SR is completely different thing from past games....I covered few of them in My SR first impression video...that one is with voiceover... it's my very first video on SR excluding the news videos and stuff

My honest opinion on Snowrunner, It's a game that really likes to test your patience. Seriously, you have to have A LOT OF PATIENCE to play Snowrunner. Every map has it's gimmicks and mechanics that sometimes just make you want to pick up your PC \ Laptop and chuck it at your TV. Any experienced player knows the game just loves to troll you, but that doesn't make it a bad game.
I think the natural beauty, level design, graphics, vehicle mechanics and design, and the challenges are what keeps bringing me back to the game [As I'm usually playing something else and don't play often.] There's always something to do in Snowrunner. If you get bored you can go explore the maps [If you've done the work], or go install some mods and mess around with them [If you have the money].
Snowrunner has it's many ups and downs, but I think It's a very solid game.

Man, I really wish I could buy the Spintires DLCs. I got Spintires around the time Mudrunner was annouced, but kinda forgot about it for things like ATS and Roblox. Really wish I hadn't. I never got the chance to get the DLCs, because by the time I got back into Spintires, it was about a week away from being removed from Steam. I guess I might never get to experience Chernobyl or China, but there is a good side to this. The Kirovets K-700, along with the modernized K7M, is being added in the next Snowrunner season. It'll be so nostalgic to drive a vehicle that has resided in my childhood forever. This video makes me want to play OG Spintires again.

The Flood wasn't the first new map introduced. A lot of people forget this because it was removed because it was essentially broken, but there was a map called The Pit, it came before The Flood and was where the concept of not having a garage at the start of the game came from. The map spawned you at a garage, but due to I guess a programming error, the garage wasn't actually unlocked, and there were no trucks on the map that could unlock it. I remember going into the game files and changing the short log bed on the Kraz 255 to have the like 10 garage points so you could actually play the map. It's really a shame the map got removed, it was actually pretty cool

Spintires was a proof-of-concept at most. MudRunner was a strong beta, and even SnowRunner, while a good game and lots of fun, still has some issues, particularly with driving physics. But, as an arcade game, I'd say it's pretty solid.

Installing mods is freakishly easy and always works for me so idk how you’re having issues
The way it works is by going into the steam works shop for spin tires or mud runner or snow runner and finding a mod you like, then just click subscribe and it auto downloads and installs. When selecting what trucks to use for the map you can pick the mod vehicles there.
