I saw another story on this case where Tim Kern’s sons were interviewed. They said that once when they were kids their dad was supposed to come visit them, but his car broke down. They were disappointed that they weren’t going to see him, but several hours later he showed up- on a bicycle! He borrowed one from a friend of his just so he could see his sons. I wanted everyone to know how much he truly loved his kids!
Thank you for that info. It gives me a mixed feeling of, I'm not sure happy/sad are the right words used to describe the feeling but its the best I can come up with. It makes his death a little sadder, but also gives a little depth to the victim.
This is such a sad case. These poor men were just looking to get their lives back on track with a new beginning. And to have it end by a couple of psychopaths is horrific.
Can we take a moment to appreciate Scott Davis' bravery & cleverness, outwitting a man who had grown confident in his killing abilities & was in a location familiar to him? Scott had nerves of steel to lay low in an unknown location while losing blood from his wound, & then had the physical & mental strength to find a house amongst that wilderness during nightfall so he could survive & sound the alarm for others. I'm sure some of it was instinctual but it still is impressive & courageous. Good on you Scott. I wish you peace.
reminds me of Kara Robinson Chamberlain. She was Kidnapped and escaped a serial killer. When I hear her describe how she slipped out of bed while he slept, and how she slowly and carefully made her way until she was able to fling the door open and run with all her might to safety. HOW... I would have frozen in fear.
I wonder if his instincts kicked it right before the gun jammed? It’s incredibly quick thinking with balls of steel to slap a gun away as it took aim to fire
Fun fact: I was one of the people who responded to the ad. I lived in nky at the time and was 18 and needed to get out of my parents place. The dude was super chill over the phone but refused to let me live on the property because I was "to young" and he was looking for someone more "trustworthy and older". And I legit begged this dude at one point to let me stay ok the property and work (I have farm hand experience) I didn't know what he had done till last year and had a panic attack at work.
Wow. I don't think you were "too young" as he told you. I think what he really meant was "you're too young because your parents will come looking for you." Scary freaking thought. As my mom always said, there's a silver lining behind every dark cloud. What seemed like a dark cloud to you at the time (not getting the job because you were too young), was actually the silver lining, the God smack that saved your life.
@@BeRightBack131 I'm pretty sure what he really meant was "you're too young to have personal property that I can sell/you're too young for me to assume your identity"
Seeing all those men's photos really tugged my heart strings. You can tell life had worn on them, I hope they're at peace now. Life can be tough, but I'm grateful we're all still here to fight another day, hang in there everyone
Nicely done. His daughter actually talked about him on Evil Lives Here. It’s so strange to see familiar cases (and some unfamiliar ones) from the perspective of people who knew them in their private lives. She feels guilty for teaching him how to use Craig’s List.
That's heartbreaking. It's so NOT her fault. He would have found some way to find his victims once he decided he wanted to kill, with or without CL. I hope she finds some peace one day... 🌹
When this killer stated at the end of this video, that he had killed NOBODY, what he was actually saying was that he had killed several nobody`s. What a horrible mean spirited man. All of his victims were loved by their people, and were not nobody`s.
Richard Beasley is just a monster. He didn’t care that he killed 3 innocent men & attempted murder on Scott or ruined Brogan’s life; course Brogan is also evil for taking part in these crimes
Yeah, it’s kind of like “double-speak”…. We should always be paying attention to people’s words and how they are saying it… A lot of sociopathic people talk like that
The second guy wrote a really nice email. I would’ve hired him based on that email. He’s got his own tools and truck and seems like he’s ready to work. I feel really bad because I know what being out of work is like and it can be depressing. I truly feel depressed for the second dude. Honestly, reading that email makes me tear up. Poor fucking guy.
Completely agree. Not a lot of lucky breaks waiting around for guys like him, but he didn't complain. He just seemed happy to be able to put to use what he had to offer. I similarly thought that I'd hire him in a second. Thinking of how he must've felt, going from the relief of finally catching a break to the cruel reality of why he'd been brought out there is one of many reasons I hope he's left this weary world for someplace he can finally rest -- and know that Richard will not be joining him.

Think you might have that a little backwards, not making excuses but rather the poor upbringing in the first place, was the road to where this all ended. Many people get confused about that, think someone can just turn 18 and unlearn all the crap their parents filled their head with, but more often than not, turning 18 just means an additional threat of homelessness as a means of control, which many can escape by finding employment but cost of living went up more than minimum wage and many areas, pre-covid were short on livable wage paying jobs, especially if you're a fat lazy psycho-fvsk like our killer.
@@atmywhitson I don't understand why people are like that (the one giving people shit about virtue signalling). I think they learn these catchy phrases and love to use them whenever they can. It's lazy and lame and no one cares. I love your reply!
These guys were excited about the opportunity and willing to work hard and start fresh. It's so horrible that this happened to them. I only hope that they didn't realise it was coming (from the way Mike described it the only reason the victim that survived knew was because the gun misfired) and died dreaming of a golden opportunity and excitement for the future.
every murder case is tragic for the victims, but this one broke my heart in a particular way. Maybe because the men were just... so excited for their opportunity and filled with hope for their future, and then shot in the back of the head. Their last thoughts were thinking of the ways their life would get better, for themselves or their loved ones. Maybe that should be comforting... but I'm sad.
True but they might have also been carrying some more powerful, more dominant negative self loathing energy from before which helped them fall prey to, well, a predator. I always get flack for the idea that energy creates situations but it’s science really. It’s still horrific, wrong and sad! Stay positive!
It just blows me away how people like him can look people in the eye and say ‘I didn’t kill anyone’, when the evidence is clear. Just pathetic. Another episode well done, Mike!
I honestly feel like crying right now. Seeing their words and how excited they were to grab this opportunity and start over.. this world is way too evil. :(
It's incredibly disturbing to know how much effort the killers put into researching their victims and the lengths they went to in order to render them helpless. I'm guessing they staged the "job interviews" beforehand to ensure the men they were luring into the woods weren't armed and had no nearby friends or relatives who could have helped save them. Makes me sick.
You can see how easily he was able to use his religious rhetoric to brainwash that clueless shmuck brogan People can excuse all kinds of heartless brutality if you couch it in your bible thumping nonsense These poor guys didn't deserve to get their lives cut short like this, a horrible waste
I wonder what was the MAIN motive... getting all the victims stuff and fence it to buy groceries and pills or the kick of blasting some unknown guy in the back of the head ( i fail to find why one can find to pleasure in doing that... but well some get off on getting whipped raw which i also find weird... hell ! If you want to be whipped , do it yourself for free! If you want to put bullets in brains use your own for pete's sake! -sorry again I don't know what came over me. My husband answered a Craigslist ad for yard work, our oldest was graduating, and we needed the cash. He met a nice man, who is actually a Dr at the local hospital. The two of them were talking about how both their wives were true crime fans, and were scared they both would be murdered. We became friends, but answering those ads is scary.

My coworker sells her parents furniture on criagslist. She got me into it cause my parents were moving anyways so we were trying to sell as much and as fast as we can. There was always family around when we sold and we lived in front of a busy high traffic street. Most people who bought stuff were all normal.
Hey Mike. I'm Ruwi from Sri Lanka. There have been a few insane murders (specially children) in our country during the last couple of years that I think are worth covering! There was a traveling bag murder with an insane plot twist in March 2021 that just shook the entire nation to an extent, parents were extra cautious when sending their daughters out for ANYTHING! Do take a look into it and cover it with a video if possible! Love your content! And much love to you. 🖤
For those looking for jobs, some advice - if they offer to take you in their vehicle somewhere, decline, anything could happen, you could end up stranded, you could be taken advantage of, you could be attacked, point is something could happen to you and you’d have no escape. Ask if you can follow in your own vehicle (if you trust him/her enough to follow with your own vehicle), if he/she acts sketchy, tries to convince you to go in his/her car, gets aggro, then somethings immediately not right. Just don’t get into his/her car if he/she offers to take you somewhere, you dunno what kind of crazies you’ll come across in life.
I was selling a tv on Craigslist a woman answered the ad bought the tv and now 6 years later we are married 🤷🏻♂️ strange world I guess it’s no different than meeting someone at the Grocery store and less sleazy than a bar i guess 🤷🏻♂️
This one really hit me. All these victims seemed like really good people and hard workers. I found the story of the man living in the homeless shelter to be especially sad. RIP.

I watched an ID show about this case not long ago and Scott Davis is interviewed and tells the story of his experience in the woods and it was chilling. They actually came close to finding him at one point, but Scott hid really well. He could see them even. I can’t remember the name but it was a harrowing story. Thanks for the great video and giving those victims a voice.
@@mrcommonsense9074 I wouldn't say he's a hero, but he's certainly one of the most fortunate people I've ever heard of, to the point of possible divine intervention.
Richard comes rolling into the court room in a wheel chair complaining about not getting pain meds 🤦 This coming from a man that weeks earlier walked out in the woods to murder, maybe or maybe not helped dig the graves, but definitely helped put the victims in the graves and then covered them up. 🙄 I'm sure Richard really needed that wheel chair, and I hope he is in pain and going through withdrawals. Richard deserves anything and everything he gets.
I thought that too. From one person who has gone through wd's - I usually have a lot of empathy for others - not in this instance. I hope it has been every bit as shakey, pukey, anxious, nauseous, depressed, sweaty, freezing, and miserable as it could be.
It is sad to imagine how many millions of lives were taken or ruined by opioids... Directly and indirectly. Pharmaceutical companies have become dens of demons feeding off the pain and suffering of those who put their trust in the meds they provide.
This was one of the tough ones to watch… bc of how helpless the victims were. They genuinely thought they were about to turn their lives around for the better. Richard… you can tell he’s hella insecure. Took advantage of the weakness of other men. Ugh. I wish everyone here well. Take good care of yourself even when it feels hard to do. Thats when you should push harder! Remember this is your one shot in life. Make good timing of it ♥️ Edit: I didn’t expect my comment to reach so many ppl. Thank you all for the positive comments ♥️i encourage everyone to continue these positive notions in your daily lives especially during a time as wary as now. Keep pushing!
My dad still uses craigslist and we have to constantly tell him that "if it sounds too good, it probably is." Also if you meet someone through any site ALWAYS bring someone else with you (if you can) & if you can't make sure it's in a public place. If they try to drive you somewhere in their own car that's a huge red flag, say no thanks and get out. This is such a tragic case, I hope those men are finally at peace. Stay safe you guys.

I once had to hide in the woods at night to escape my attacker. This one brings back some strong memories. Another great video, Mike. Thank you so much for all your hard work bringing these stories to life.
That sounds terrifying. At night, the woods change. It’s easy to get lost but amazing you outsmarted the a$s- The canopy of trees also make it so dark. I used to practically live on trails, usually hiking alone. My rule was be In my car leaving at 4:00 pm because that next hour gets dark and cold super fast. Were you hiking and have emergency stuff? I really feel for you and happy you’re alive and not hurt. ❤️🤟🏻❤️🤟🏻❤️
Richard’s daughter, Tonya, was 17 when the murders happened and has reached out to survivors / family of the victims of her dad. She has guilt / blames herself for her dads idea/actions because she helped set up his account and taught him how to use it because he said he was gonna use it to sell stuff because I guess at the time he was low on cash. Scott Davis met with her and he told her he doesn’t blame her at all… Like stuff like that eats at me. Because I sometimes forget to think about the family of the offender and what they think and feel. Poor Tonya feeling this way because he dad is a sick f*ck who abused what she was taught him.
I remember hearing about a case in the UK where the late teenage son of the perpetrator, of multiple crimes against girls, was at the trial and was visibly finding all the horrors difficult to take in - and the family of one of the victims approached him and strongly reassured him that he was not responsible for what his father had done, he was his own good person and they comforted and befriended him - they could see how much he was suffering too. The son said how much it had helped him cope.

Craigslist isn’t the problem…. never tell an online stranger you’re a loner without many friends and family. NEVER meet them alone. If a job or place is secluded and out of town you should also make some calls to public officials in that area to verify the facts. That monster was infuriating. This one just made me really very sad. They are all sad in many ways, but this one just hit different. Maybe it was all the hope and vulnerability of the victims? But most have that. I can’t put my finger on it. Great job Mike.
I am from Ohio; I live in Florida. Since your video is 80 percent compromised of murders from these two states, I am an avid subscriber. I have seen EVERY video that you have put out and never left a comment. That said, I found this case particularly heartbreaking. To kill under the guise of a job, especially in an area that is so economically distressed… This is true evil. My only hope is that this man doesn’t sit on death row forever. Take him out and be done with him!
As a fellow Buckeye, born and raised, I am disgusted by the horrific crimes in this state. We are also #3 in Human Trafficking and in the top three for drugs. My county is OVERRUN by drugs and trafficking. The public has No Idea!

WHAT, exactly the same.. me too 🥺 I’m genuinely so sorry you’re going through this bullshit and am sending you all of the best vibes and peace possible. His videos are a great distraction for sure
It only cheered you up cause something in your routine is still the same. It is incredibly odd to be cheered up about a video about people being murdered.
Brogan is a family member… and I haven’t seen him since he was about 9/10 years old. Such a respectful intelligent little boy…. He didn’t have the best upbringing or childhood he deserved, but I would have never thought he would have got involved with this psycho and help him do this. I still continue to pray for all of the victims and their families.
It’s tragic. Maybe it’s an unpopular opinion but I question if life without parole was really the right sentence considering all of the circumstances and his age
The fact that there have been multiple Craigslist killers and I thought you were talking about the one in Seattle 😩 Anyway, we love ya Mike! Stay safe!
Thank Glob that Scott got away! I'm only 12 minutes in, but David's story really pulled at my heartstrings. Just imagining a hard-working man, down on his luck, just trying to catch a break. Then, when he thinks he found one and is counting his lucky stars, he gets unceremoniously murdered for his efforts. All murders are awful, but f*ck - that one really gets me 😭
My heart broke when I saw the profiles of the victims, especially the last one who reluctantly left his beloved sons. Beasley's courtroom face radiated nothing but evil.
Thank you, Mike. All the stories are rough but this one touched me a little extra. Maybe it’s just thinking that those poor men must’ve been so hopeful for what seemed like a good opportunity and then it turned out to be just…darkness. Heartbreaking! Take care! 🤗
I felt the same way. I actually paused the video to look at each of the men and thought about what they had to be thinking when they each had responded to the ad, thinking they had found exactly what they were needing at that time in their lives. A job, housing, a little cash and a remote location. They had to be excited and relieved to have been selected. How incredibly terrifying that hundreds had replied to the ad. Knowing this streak only ended due to what could be the most lucky event in the most unlucky situation really can make you question fate.
This is such an unbelievably sad case. These poor men were just looking to get their lives back on track, and to have it ended by a couple of psychopaths is truly horrific and heartbreaking.
Disagree. Being "hilarious" is highly inappropriate in regards to the nature of the story. It comes off as taking it lightly and just being disrespectful. I guess you younger generations have lost touch with your moral center to treat real murder as "hilarious".

Mike, I’m so glad you covered this case. I’m from Marietta, Ohio and this was a fairly huge deal when the news came out. Richard Beasley used to frequent both the Shoney’s and Bob Evan’s restaurants in Marietta and it’s where he met with all of his victims.

Scary part for us was we were looking for a place to rent with a house, barn and some pasture. We found out that there was absolutely no contact to be made with barn and pasture. Turns out some of the bodies were buried in that barn. Great story! I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't more victims.

I'm sure someone has already mentioned this but this reminds me of the old Ray and Faye Copeland story. They used to hire farm hands who were actually vagrants, have them commit some fraud, and then they would disappear. Anyway, great video Mike! Not sure if you have ever covered the Copelands but if not, give it a goo.
I remember that one from Forensic Files. I remember being struck that they fit the part so well. Like, if you asked me to picture an older, murderous, farm couple, I probably would've pictured the Copelands. Hell, the actual Copelands were even freakier than anything I would've imagined.

So so true. Ohh man but ya that's kinda comforting to know
True. Heartbreaking.
True but they might have also been carrying some more powerful, more dominant negative self loathing energy from before which helped them fall prey to, well, a predator. I always get flack for the idea that energy creates situations but it’s science really. It’s still horrific, wrong and sad! Stay positive!

It's incredibly disturbing to know how much effort the killers put into researching their victims and the lengths they went to in order to render them helpless.

I grew up in Noble Co. And these murders took place on land next to ours!! It is something that I will NEVER forget!! Its beyond heartbreaking.

I’ve seen that one a few times on the Copelands. Such an insane story! Mike should def cover it!
Real crazy story
@@gayledimitri5887 yeah it's an old one but a really interesting story. They got away with it for a long time.
I remember that one from Forensic Files. I remember being struck that they fit the part so well. Like, if you asked me to picture an older, murderous, farm couple, I probably would've pictured the Copelands. Hell, the actual Copelands were even freakier than anything I would've imagined.
Give it a goo* 😂
Whenever someone talks about Mikes channel I scream and run over I’m obsessed with how he presents these cases. Thank you for your hard work! And for shedding lights for these victims families and the victims stories!
It really is so fun when a friend comes across his channel. I love it!
Love him to.
I only live about 20 minutes from here and I never heard about this! Much appreciation to you for covering the less heard of stories, Mike. That’s what sets your channel apart from the rest.
Hey Mike. Hope you had a great weekend. So happy it’s Tuesday. Only because it’s TC time. Thanks for making the weeks better with your hard work ❤️
Thanks Sharon!
@@ThatChapter it completely amazes me the things on Craigslist. I’d never even heard of it until some of your stories. I haven’t been on it, I wonder why 😆

Oh, Mike…You know the world has gone way crazy when a story like this one is an escape from reality! Thanks for the break, Bud
No kidding!
I've watched most if not all the cases on this channel, but for some reason found this stuck with me long after. I think it's so sad that all the victims were just looking for a job to get by, some wanted to just be in a better situation- but ended up losing their lives to this sicko. ☹️ On another note we need to get Mike's subs up, come on! ( It's rare he asks!)
Long after he just posted this as u wrote it lol
“he became pepperjack” HAHAHHAHA YES. I’m crying we love a good It’s Always Sunny reference
Hey mike! I’ve been having a rough couple days and your videos always cheer me up! Off to give it a Goo! Keep up the great work my friend!!
Hope you feel better soon, Kyle!
@JFQ it's interesting content to take ur mind off life for a while. i don't think anyone feels good hearing about murders, but mike adds his personality to the videos so it isn't *all* negative.
@JFQ it’s a distraction, it can also offer perspective on how much worse things could be. Some people are grateful for what they have or realize things could be worse after watching them. That’s my guess
Take care kyle I hope things improve for u take care 🐨🐨🦘🇦🇺
@JFQ Cause Mike is cute and charming. Duh! Lol

Go rent a 30 foot straight truck from home depot, or wherever. Drive it around for an hour or 2, just until you're comfortable. Take it to a DMV a take your C-Class license test, imagine a regular driving test, just in a big truck. Apply for driving jobs requiring a C-class license, most have a starting wage of 20ish an hour. After that, save a little cash from your new decent job and find your path. It's what I did, if I can, you definitely can too.

Another great one Mike. I can't get the image of Sasquatch asking for directions out of my head. This is no laughing matter, but I did laugh at that. Thank you.

I lived 5 years in Noble county Ohio. It is very isolated, farms, a lot of woodlands. My graduating class had maybe 60 kids total. Many people think rural living means quiet and peace but quite alot goes on down there from drugs and breaking and entering to murder. Thanks as always Mike I love your work.
What a nightmare running and hiding in the woods from this maniac! That put me on the edge of my seat like a scary movie! Thanks to him surviving it saved other life's. Those guys look creepy as hell! Mikey as I always say I just adore you and love TC so thank you everyone for this awesome podcast and look forward to the next
I vaguely remember hearing about this case. Thank you for covering it in depth, the victims deserve to have their stories told.
Also, I love the subtle It's Always Sunny reference. 💖
His mother worked in the office at my high school. She was one of the meanest humans on the planet and none of us were surprised it was her son out here unaliving folks
Yikes!!!
Craigslist isn't totally useless. There are a lot of items for sale on there, which you can safely purchase if you handle your transactions in a totally public, busy place. I adopted my hairless cat, Kenny, from Craigslist on April 28, 2008. He was the best thing that ever came into my life, and I miss him every day. R.I.P. I appreciate you, Mike. I love watching your older videos, sometimes, just to watch YOUR growth, from a sad or neutral faced MIKE, into such a captivating, informative and fun Podcaster. You are an inspiration in many ways but today, I'd say it's your tenacity! Thanks for being wonderful YOU!
My man “Tree Turdy” always coming through so much I can set my clock to him! I’ve seen this story on a couple different broadcast channels and until now was kinda boring but Mikey nails it and legit grabs my attention and doesn’t have me wondering if it’s ever going to end! Great job Mike, I along with everyone else loves you too and want great things for you and your family!
The channel that just keeps on giving. Getting better and more professional every video. Being from Ireland, I do enjoy the Irish humor. Keep it up Mike. We love ye.
Not being from Ireland, but enjoying the humor as well :)
how can you say this channel is "more professional every video" when this man literally makes jokes out of people dying in the most horrifying ways possible.
this guy thinks every murder is hilarious and you guys love him making fun of victims' deaths.

@mVP Thanks brah 😎👍🏼
@@Hello-ig1px he usually makes jokes at the expense of the murderer and is always pretty respectful. You’re just a hater
Thanks Mike.... no long winded explanation from me of how great your channel is or how you brighten up my Tuesday's and Friday's...bolloxed after a day on site, had a shed load of Guinness on way home now in the pit listening to your epic story telling...not looking forward to hangover in morning...and will have to watch this again during the week 😀 👍
Toooo relatable
Lol more of a single malt guy myself but every other word of this hits every fiber of my very existence. Cheers sir
Thanks Mike! Just in time for me to relax. Spent the morning cleaning my home. Love from NJ as usual❤
It was such a relief to hear the police immediately believe the victim and immediately go into overdrive and start an investigation. I’m so tired of the stories where the police are presented with something and they minimize or dismiss the victim. Later it’s learned that they could’ve stopped the murders had they just acted initially.
Love That Chapter and being part of the patron. I just ordered another T-shirt can’t wait to get it. Scary thing is I live in Ohio.
Patreon blows.
Mike, you're the reason why Tuesday is so awesome.❤
Means a lot, thank you!
I watched “Web of Lies” coverage of this case & it’s truly disturbing how this plan unfolded. They even had Scott tell his story on how he was lured out by Beasley & surviving the attempt on his life. Horrifying for all involved (both alive and deceased)
Jack is not only lucky he survived attempted shooting but that he found a house out in the middle of nowhere.

Your storytelling has evolved so much since the early days. Great job Mike!
I'm from Marietta and I remember when this whole thing happened. Things like this rarely happen in tiny communities like ours or Noble County so it definitely sent shock waves throughout them.
