I am so proud of the young girl who kept putting signs such as "DIG ME UP" in front of the concrete slab. And she was right! She was brave and tenacious; what a wonderful person!
@@ThePOPcultureHashira That Is American Police and Feds in a Nutshell. So many of these cases on this channel and most serial killers could have easily been solved. They are utterly useless.
It's actually very normal. Cps, school counselors, teachers and police all say it isn't bad enough unless we see marks.... and those marks have to be "bad enough". This isn't a fluke, it is the norm.
Thanks to your accent he will always be remembered as Ward Weaver the Turd. Great storytelling Mike, I'm completely hooked on your style, even about cases I've already seen reports on by other channels.
this happened in my hometown, Miranda and Ashley were my middle school classmates and dance teammates. seeing this face in my sub box was such a huge shock to my system. I may not be able to watch this one right away, but I’m so glad to see you be the one to cover it because I trust you. thank you for bringing the girls’ names and stories back into the light, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen any coverage on their case, and they deserve to be remembered. 💜
Gosh, I cannot even imagine how this would feel to live through (I remember it happening as I lived down in Eugene at the time). I'm so sorry for you and everyone close to (and loved) these poor girls.
I cannot believe that the court system, and the lawyer defending her biological father, actually allowed Weaver to testify for the defence, and that they just accepted him saying HE’D been accused by her as well meant she was unreliable, and not that they were both sick fecking predators. Utterly insane.
As disgusting as these crimes are, in themselves, it equally disgusts me when these monsters lie and lie and lie about their victims, slandering them, and revictimizing them over and over again.
That's precisely what they do. It's somehow the victim's fault that the monster "had to" commit a crime for (reasons). They just don't take responsibility, and don't think they did anything wrong.
@@sixthsenseamelia4695 I agree. Children are treated like chattels of their parents. If the parent gives a child alcohol, it's okay. If anyone else does, it's a crime. If someone has sex with a child, it is a crime - UNLESS they have a parents permission on a marriage license. Then, it's suddenly okay. Same with assault - if someone else hits a child, they are charged with a crime and public opinion goes against them. If it's a parent, it's suddenly okay - even if severe or public - and if someone else complains about assaulting a minor, it's the loud bystander who gets assailed because they are "not a parent".
I worked at the courthouse when Ward Weaver was going through the process of court conviction……the media and hassles was incredible for every workday! The cost of getting him to court was outrageous and the joke was it would have been better to serve justice was a 25 cent bullet 💯😡 then his surviving daughter ended up going to school with my daughter in Portland…..this crime was very impactful to my same age daughter, very sad crimes.
This has to be one of the most depressing stories ever. Those poor girls experienced so much suffering in their short lives, surrounded by so much neglect and wickedness. It also demonstrates the awful cycle of generational abuse being passed down leaving so much trauma and devastation in its wake.
All of these cases, truly depress and hurt me to my core. Because I lived one of these god awful childhoods, it was terrible, physical, and mental abuse on a massive scale, drug abuse in the family, and alcoholism, getting beat around for nothing other than existing. Yet, I have 2 children of my own. THEY ARE MY ENTIRE WORLD. My life would fall apart without them, and I shower them with nothing but love and affection, and they know they can come to me for anything no matter how bad it might be, and rather than snap and rage, that I will calmly listen to them and give them the best possible advice I can give. Living my childhood made me solemnly swear my children would never experience an OUNCE of the trauma I did. I don't see how more of these people abused, dont feel the same way. I guess they were just broken by it. I was beaten but never broken, I always swore I'd do things differently, even as a young teen and I hung onto that my entire life thus far.
Yes, it's so disturbing. Listening to Francis Weaver say that from now on his family would be known for doing what's right. ❤️ That was really a brave thing to do. Especially when you think about how that family life must have been. I hope Francis Weaver is doing well now. ❤️
@@GamingWITHsKeLeToR more power to you man, i highly respect you and people like you who break that chain of abuse and start a new chain of love and nurturing. my dad was abused sexually, pysically and emotionally alongside his other brothers and sisters and yet he never laid a finger on me in my childhood even when i deserved it my mom was the one who did the punishment. he is an alcholic due to the abuse he suffered through and i dont blame him. he is the definition of a real man and i couldnt have asked for a better person to look up to, hes strong in more ways than one. it makes me extremely sad to know that not everyone has a happy childhood, and that abuse continues to create monsters who will do the same to their children. it takes the strongest people to destroy that cycle and never let it happen again. kudos to you man.
I can only imagine the abuse Mallory faced if her father was preying on her friends. Men like him and others can never be cured and need to be put down.
Yup. My dad is a predator, and when I was a teen I always remember watching my friends on the few occasions they came over, because I knew they weren't safe around my dad. I never outright told them because I didn't want to scare them but they all picked up on his vibe and thankfully they stopped wanting to come over. He's currently in jail, thankfully.
i know it's so unfair!! And what kind of punishment was that for molesting your child?? And they wonder why people don't come forward...so often the police/justice system are useless..
I know I get so sick of hearing how a child has a hard life no fault of their own. Parents just being worthless and perverts being allowed to live. I have custody of my 8 yr granddaughter because my son picked pure trash to have a baby with. My son said he knows she'll be better off with me and my husband so he just signed her over and he definitely doesn't want the mother to have her because she likes that meth crowd and the meth. She's just pathetic on so many levels a judge agreed so now at 56 I've got an 8 yr old. I wish she just had decent parents and a home life but if they can't manage to do that simple thing in life I'll be glad too. I would think it takes more effort to be a shitty parent than to just be a good one and take care of your children
@@lilithdvs13 No. She was a child who was betrayed by nearly every adult in her life. 13 year old children are never responsible for the behavior of the grown ups around them.
This story dominated our news cycle for ages. Ward couldn’t keep his ugly face away from the cameras. He loved the attention. I will never forget the day they dug up Ashley and found Miranda. My heart broke. Great coverage, as always. Thank you for all you do.
I'm flabbergasted with all the sexual molestation, parents horrid choices with whom they introduced their children to, and lack of humanity. This episode took me several days to view due to the overwhelming content. Covered the story with dignity and I appreciate your time putting this together in such a professional manner. Kudos Mike.
Lack of humanity? Are you kidding? Humans are disgusting! Who do you think created vivisection, factory farming and slaughterhouses? A lamb is an innocent baby who needs the love of their mother and protection of their father and yet you get a butcher to slit their throats
@@thomas2much601 It appears you attempted to put a lot of thought into your comment (hence your edit). You assume I consume meat or approve of slaughtering animals. Your cerebral cortex appears smaller than normal. You should seek medical attention immediately.
Truck driver? He’s right it does seem to be a serial killers speciality as it’s difficult to pin the murder on someone who is moving all around the country
This case makes me so mad. I drive by the vacant lot a few times a month and I still get chills. I still can’t get over how he literally let a news crew film the freezer and the concrete pad. And that the news crew actually interviewed Miranda after Ashley went missing, before she too went missing. That same reporter cried on air as the coroner ID’d the bodies because she was so close to the case. How traumatic for everyone involved.
Child protection services are attacking good parents while not going after these creeps the system is broken. Americans wake up, how many similar stories do you need to hear before realizing it's broken and we need to better protect children
This Charlie, is a disgusting case. HOW THE F*CK can the police do nothing? TWO girls living with the same man DISAPPEAR? And nothing real is done. This guy and the other maggot who have history of abusing have CLEAR motives for wanting to get rid of these girls because they would be very useful witnesses current and future prosecutions. Sadly, cockroaches like these so called 'men' are not stupid. They know full well how to take advantage of the slow response from police and the ONLY reason the second girl *coughs* disappeared is because NO ONE was ensuring her safety.
This was heartbreaking. Those poor girls. I can't imagine how horrible their last moments of life were. Their lives ended before they were able to make good lives for themselves.
Have to say, here in Oregon child SA gets hardly any punishment still. Most get community service. Some of those on community service are cleaning up parks right next to schools where children are present. Worse yet, I had the experience of witnessing a guard with a teenage work crew, cornering and inappropriately touching a teenage girl under his control. (Yes, I called the cops. No nothing happened to the guard because the girl was incarcerated in the juvenile jail and scared of retaliation). Some days, if you look at the court docket in my small Oregon town, it’s full of CSA cases. It’s disgusting. And why I’m overprotective AF with my kids.
In europe we have the same problems with slap on the wrists despite the fact they destroy a innocent soul and can do so repeatedly. They only care about the offenders rights and well being instead of focus only on the victim. Once these men cross the line they should be locked up life long and even that is too late for one child/woman. Props to you for standing up for the girl. Maybe nothing came out of it but at least the girl saw someone cared enough and will find the strength to report it some time
I’m proud of you for doing all that you can to stand up to injustice, as well as protect your kids. As the quote goes “the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” You’re a good person trying to do something about evil. Keep it up. You’re not alone.
You’ve done an excellent job on this one, Mike. Thank you! My children attended the same in-home daycare that his (at the time) girlfriends’ children did. I encountered him numerous times. It still makes me feel ill that he spoke to my young daughters after he took the lives of two innocent little girls. It’s terrifying to know we encounter such evilness in our daily lives and don’t even know it.
Why don't you just feel lucky it wasn't YOUR children that was taken away by this beast. Your children are at least living. These poor mothers children are long gone. He only SPOKE to yours. Not to belittle your situation with this guy but still.
Yuck!! I'd still feel like I needed to shower every time I remembered an interaction with him. What a dickbag. I feel for you. Glad he is no longer a threat to your community and your kids. This one really got under my skin.
@@Hx3ney The thing I remember the most about him was that he was a little too nice. Awkward almost. I didn’t begin to become uncomfortable until he began talking about the missing girls, and how the entire police force thought he knew what happened to them. Fortunately; he was arrested shortly thereafter.
Wow! It is a lot to take in, but you, Mike, present it in a palpable way. As a mother to an only child, my daughter, I've always told my daughter to come to me if anybody attempted to abuse her. Thankfully, when she was on a sleepover, the brother of the mom attempted to abuse my girl. She screamed and kicked out at him. She came home and told me. I believed her and called Police. It subsequently turned out that he had abused his nieces, who were there in their home that night. He has served a lengthy term in prison and is on the SA register for life. Preparing our children for rogues in society is good.
@@philipstowers4741yes that's exactly what I thought when I read the word 'rogue.' I literally can think of numerous expletives to call these sack of shit bastards!! I say show them NO MERCY and the expression 'an eye for an eye' needs to be enacted in every one of these horrendous cases of abuse
Im Lori's friend and was their next door neighbor (across the court yard). We are hoping to get a park and educational center put in place on the property. Its time to fill that plot with love and a safe place for children to play, instead of the darkness it holds. May they rest in peace. We love and miss you Ashley
This case absolutely rocked Oregon. I was in fifth grade in Corvallis at the time this happened and the procedures for children getting to school completely changed after this. In our school district it was required for a parent or guardian to be present at the bus stop until their child was safely on the bus. After school was finished, it was required to have at least one walking buddy if we were going to walk home; and it had to be someone that lived on the same street as you. It makes me sad to think I haven’t thought about this case in nearly 20 years. Thanks for breathing a little life into Ashley and Miranda. They would have gone on to do great things with their lives if this country took the mistreatment on kids seriously.
One more reason for me not to have kids. I got better things to do than wait around the bus stop making sure my kid doesn’t get raped and murdered before they go to school where they will get raped and murdered
I'm pleased things have changed - even though it was too late for these two girls. 2002 - surely the school should have let the mother (parents/caregivers..) know that her 12 year old daughter never showed up at school. probably wouldn't have made a difference in THIS case - might in another - thought there were better systems in place at the time - glad improved since.
Hi Mike! I will always appreciate you and your videos. You have a certain way of telling stories that's addicting! This case was tragic but you did a great job being respectful.
There's something so sad about the son Francis saying "From now on the Weaver name will be known for doing the right thing." when turning in his father, only for him to also end up jail for murder.
This happened in my hometown. My best friend's sister was close with Ashley Miranda and Mallori (Ward's daughter). They would have sleepovers at Mallori's along with other girls from the dance team. It had to be incredibly traumatizing knowing that she had spend the night in the home of a murder, with his future victims, in the very place that they were murdered and their bodies hidden. The girls' bodies being found is one of my first memories. I remember when they were still missing and they seemed so grown up to me, old enough to run away on some sort of adventure together. I remember asking my mom if that could be what happened, and her looking so sad saying "I don't think so baby." Now as an adult it hits extra hard how truly young they were. These girls had an entire life ahead of them.

I remember someone from Ashley pons family had snuck into the backyard and put up a sign that read "we are buried here" or something to that degree, right by the concrete slab. They wanted the news cameras to see it , and they were right.

It’s not much, but I wanted to give you a special thank you for all the effort you put into your videos. The amount of respect you show is unmatched. I love how no matter how dark the story gets, your quick wit keeps it light. As a bonus your “let’s give it a go” line is the same line from my sons favorite show, Gabby’s Dollhouse 😂
This should be a required viewing for people in denial about how very common pr3dators are and how prevalent CSA is. These children were surrounded by them everywhere they turned, so many different occasions and people involved. It also goes to show how often (and what I mean is usually) v1ctims are failed by authority figures and the law; it is extremely rare to receive actual justice. That is the reality of this world and I thank you for covering this evil.

No. Not every person who had a shitty childhood becomes what was done to them. I am testament to that. I didn't start to remember what had happened to me, by my own mother, until I was in my 40's, and even then it took me YEARS to fully comprehend the horror of what I had endured. In fact, there is stuff still so blocked in my memories that there isn't a therapist in the world who could help unblock it. Which is fine, I know enough. I could not imagine hurting another human being, the way I was hurt, just because I was.
Not every person who had a shitty childhood becomes what was done to them, correct but most of people who do extremely abhorred morally questionable things had a shitty upbringing
I'm so sorry that that happened to you. Was there a good adult role model in your life, someone who was consistently kind, or like a parent figure? Because psychologists call these people mitigating factors; they're the ones who teach or demonstrate good values to abused kids so they don't turn out bad.

One thing that always baffles me about cases involving children is that when they don't show up for school and the school never contacts the parents to ask or inform them. As a parent I would want to know if my child didn't end up arriving at school when I know I sent them.
@Erika Mussey I thought the same. Maybe they had different rules back then. I have a 5th grader & I have no idea what happens if you don’t call your child in sick or excused :O
my thoughts exactly - and I'm not a mother! the school should have let the mother (parents/caregivers..) know that her 12 year daughter never showed up at school. probably wouldn't have made a difference in THIS case - might in another - thought there were better systems in place, even in 2002
Schools always informed parents when their children were more than a bit late, during the 1960s and 1970s. They had systems in place to tell whether a child was there or not. Kids who skipped school were called out by their parents that afternoon/evening if they were around and gave a darn about them. Why they didn't do this in 2002 or now is.... bizarre.
If child don't show up then teachers just think they're sick. It was normal in my school for kid to not show up for a week and just come back with justification written from parents.
Such a horrible example of evil begetting evil. Makes me wonder how many people have such abusive childhoods and you'd never know. More reason to show love and compassion to others. Thanks, Mike, for doing a fabulous job telling stories. I have to admit, I had to take a break from true crime stuff, including yours. But I'm back and love the longer uploads. Loads of love to you.
I have born and raised in Portland Oregon and my hubby went to school with one of the girls and I remember this like it was yesterday it was just so tragic and so scary. This is the hardest true crime video to watch for me and you cover it so respectfully and I personally really appreciate that. Edit ....it took 4 session of watching to get through this with some tears in-between. My hubby couldn't watch this and I wouldn't even show him. I'm sure this is true anywhere that stuff like this happens but it really did Rock a whole community and generation because I was around the same age and I know what I got to do and how late I got to be out and who I got to be out with drastically changed after this horrible tragedy took place.
@@monkeymayEH What is wrong with you? Of course it's normal to care about how murders affect those around the crime. Why do you watch these videos, for a sick thrill? It's still so shocking to hear of these monstrous people doing terrible, abusive things - LITERALLY smashing a concrete block over someone's head and choking another - and then only getting 3 years in prison. It's a disgrace that this happens so often. Escalation is escalation , how bad does it have to get before the justice system wakes up? If they're capable of attempting to kill someone for literally no reason, there's no telling what else they're capable of. Put them away and keep them there.
My grandparents lived in Oregon City growing up and I remember driving by his house all the time. I was quite young when I started seeing stuff about Ashley and Miranda on the news and I followed the story, I still remember seeing them showing his house on TV as the place where they found these two poor girls’ bodies. My whole family was stunned and horrified. This was the first murder story I remember being in my hometown and old enough to understand what was happening. We continued to have to drive past that property until it was eventually torn down and it always felt so dark and eerie, felt knots in my stomach each time.
As soon as you mentioned the name "Ward Weaver" and whole basket of memories came back that haven't been thought about in a while. I was in middle school during this time, just across the Columbia in Southern Washington, and I remember this story being EVERYWHERE. Every news channel was covering the girls and the Weaver family, posters all over to call if any information could be given, When the case was finally solved, and the accounts of what happened were reported, it was like all the oxygen was sucked from the air. Even being in a neighboring state, it shook a lot of people. It's a disgusting, and tragic thing Ward did. Some people deserve a good strip down and a$$ whoopin' upon entry to prison.

No one comes close when it comes to telling these stories and now you have your Podcast the sky is the limit for you Mike and no one deserves it more. Here's to the next 5 years. Much love and appreciation.❤❤❤
This happened when I was a kid and I remember this so vividly. Dramatically, I remember this being the first crime that I followed and felt a visceral disgust toward the perp. I've even requested this before and I appreciate you covering it. Just an awful story. Tragic and awful all around.
Awesome job describing this family or serial killers! So sad these girls weren't taken seriously! I truly hope that a whole lot of ""law enforcement" had the law enforced upon them!!!!
This story has affected more than just those families directly associated with them. It seems from the comments that those who heard about this story at that time were also affected and remember it to this day. So sorry for all those involved. RIP Ashley and Miranda.
I LOVE it when you make obscure little comments (today from "the hangover"). Your videos are always extremely entertaining while also being respectful to the victims and survivors. God bless!
Francis didn’t kill anybody. He was involved in a drug deal that went south and somebody else pulled the trigger. He was released some time ago and he’s a surprisingly good dude considering what he’s been through. He’s also not actually Ward’s biological son.
It's been my experience as a child that was sexually abused, that men will stick together to protect each other even if they are in law enforcement. The child must be a liar, concocting stories to try and destory "innocent men who were just trying to help this poor little girl". I reached out for help many times before I was the age of ten. Only to be called a liar and a trouble maker. I learned to keep my mouth shut.
I’m so sorry that happened to you. We tell kids to tell someone if something is happening they don’t feel is right & yet some people call them liars. It’s unacceptable.
I am sorry you suffered those things as a child. I did for years as well, from a guy, and from a lady. God bless you! Stay strong and have a Merry Christmas and a truly blessed New Year.
My family lived in Canby down/around the hill from Oregon City when this happened and because of this case, school busses started picking up kids in front of their houses. Each one. No walking to a bus stop any more. Thank you Mike, for covering this and telling the girls' story.
Thank you so much for using my case request, I can’t convey the appreciation enough. This affected a lot of us from all the comments I’ve read so far and I’m really glad to see these girls get the coverage they deserve. You’re the best Mike!
It's always a good day when Mike uploads! No matter how stressful my day is, I can always escape when watching your videos. Love what you're doing, long time fan!

I was sad at the end to find out that Francis Weaver ended up in prison for life for murder, I was so hopeful when he said “I’m doing the right thing, and from now on my family will be known for doing the right thing.” He seemed like he really wanted to break the cycle of his family and that’s such a hard thing to do, and it was a powerful thing he said, and did by turning in his POS dad. I absolutely believe that terrible upbringings produce people who hurt others. Not all the time of course and there are many incredibly strong people who overcome their circumstances, I have such admiration for those who do (my husband is one). I just think there is no more terrible thing a person can do as a parent than abuse and hurt their child. So much hurt and violence could be avoided if we as a society placed more importance on parenting, support of parents, and support of children. Children grow into adults who make the choices that shape our world.
Whew..what a heinous bunch. Bet their family get togethers were a real heartwarming experience.."who wants to carve the Turkey?"..Thanks again Mike for a great, in depth program. Erin go braugh my friend.( I'm sure I messed that one up).

Gosh, I cannot even imagine how this would feel to live through (I remember it happening as I lived down in Eugene at the time). I'm so sorry for you and everyone close to (and loved) these poor girls.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
I expect that would be a terrible shock. I am sorry for the loss of your classmates.
The fact that they didn’t believe Ashley when she spoke up about what Weaver did. Every body in this story failed these girls.
And this is the norm. Not a fluke, this is exactly the norm. No one cares though. Just for a few hours after watching videos like this.
I cannot believe that the court system, and the lawyer defending her biological father, actually allowed Weaver to testify for the defence, and that they just accepted him saying HE’D been accused by her as well meant she was unreliable, and not that they were both sick fecking predators. Utterly insane.
It's horrible isn't it, that all those people ignored her
@@darcgibson5099 I know right, it's unbelievable that the judge chose to believe 2 predators instead of the girl.Judge was probably a predator also.
It Sad the way this girls were around predators... Also the mothers dating them😢
As disgusting as these crimes are, in themselves, it equally disgusts me when these monsters lie and lie and lie about their victims, slandering them, and revictimizing them over and over again.
That's precisely what they do. It's somehow the victim's fault that the monster "had to" commit a crime for (reasons). They just don't take responsibility, and don't think they did anything wrong.
What about the adults that don't listen? Or act? Aren't they also partially responsible? Society treats children like chattels of adults.

That was really a brave thing to do.
Especially when you think about how that family life must have been. I hope Francis Weaver is doing well now. ❤️

I know I get so sick of hearing how a child has a hard life no fault of their own. Parents just being worthless and perverts being allowed to live. My son said he knows she'll be better off with me and my husband so he just signed her over and he definitely doesn't want the mother to have her because she likes that meth crowd and the meth. She's just pathetic on so many levels a judge agreed so now at 56 I've got an 8 yr old.
Good on you for reporting the incident, despite the official disinterest.

In the video clip it seemed like he was a pretty good liar... a pro manipulator. In person at the time did you get any kind of weird feeling from him?

They were my classmates, I remember this was the realization of the world we lived in. They both were such beautiful souls.
Mike please do a That Chapter on this girl.
What? This video is literally about her
Yeah I hoped it would not end that way :(
He got released recently.. he didn’t kill anyone. He was involved in a drug deal gone wrong. He didn’t shoot the person who died though.
Thanks for sharing
That girl Mallori has 0 chance in life, what a terrible, traumatizing upbringing. Thanks for telling your story.

I lived in Lake Oswego at the time this all happened. It’s still haunting and I’ve been surprised there aren’t many true crime videos/podcasts about the story. It was so sad.
That's how it is. You don't know. The primary focus of every individual involved is concealment of the abuse.
Francis ...
At least he didn't have the blood flowing thru him ---
Talk about a frikkn generational curse , tho ...
Thank you for finally covering this story. It still haunts me. Francis was no angel either. At least three generations of murderers. How does this even happen?
Mixture of nature and nurture. Brain shape can be inherited and if the brain shape is that of an actual psychopath, it's not hard for the next generation to fall into that if surrounded by it. (semi-quoting James Fallon who wrote "The Psychopath Inside. He's a leading neuroscientist). Just qualifying my statement - not trying to sound like a know-it-all. xxxx
COMT genes.. look it up
Same with me. (((hugs)))
Your story is not theirs.
I’m very sorry you endured that
If a serial killer is not scary and horrific enough.... 👀😱 Imagine a whole family of psychopath killers... 😮😥 the stuff of nightmares.
A whole family of psychopaths & narcissists? - Go follow the Spears family - all narcissists. They try to kill Britney Spears.
Remember me, when u gonna hear about it in the news soon...😥😢😢
Francis ending up killing and going to jail was honestly such a sad way for everything to wrap up.
I agree. After listening to him speak on that taped recording, I had hopes he would break his family cycle of violence.
It truly was.
I thought you kept calling him a ‘turd.’ It made me laugh. Then I realized you were saying, ‘third’. It was more fun listening when I thought it was turd. 😂😂😂 I am from Oregon and this was such a heartbreaking story. Thanks for covering it and honoring those amazing little girls.

He likes to do puns with his accent. That's one of the things I love so much about this channel.
He was saying turd.

Geez Louise! Most convoluted story, sad non the less, your research is what makes you , THE BEST!!! Wow, that had many layers of pain. Justice is Justice. Thanks Mike ❤
This one upset me. When Ward began to speak as if he was the victim 😡. Those poor girls had it rough since birth. The abandonment and wanting to belong, only to end up with predators, is so disheartening.
I don't understand how anyone can look at child with evil intent, children should be loved and protected by everyone:(
Also, through all the mess of the past 3 years thank you for being consistent and something I can ALWAYS rely on to take me away just for a little while. I understand the severity of these crimes but it helps me stay grateful for the life that I have and keeps me grounded in helping others in that are. Not to mention, keeps me on my toes, because just like these people, you truly never know who the person is that you just walked past or even your neighbors or family and friends.
Hope you have a lovely and safe holiday season Mike, yours and your family. Along with everyone else, stay blessed and safe during these holidays♡
Thank you Britteny!! That’s really kind of you to say, and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you being here and watching these ole videos! Happy holidays!

This was such horrendous tragedy that it was hard to watch this on the news. My daughter was a teenager at the time and was I tried to give her all the love and support that she needed aware of this case.
This happened near me and as a parent I felt like I was going out of my mind. Looking everywhere and at everyone. I wished we could have saved these girls.

I don't know how I missed this one Mike! I lived across the courtyard from Ashly and I knew her and Miranda. They where wonderful young ladies. I remember being interviewed by the FBI. I went on searches for them many times. When everything came out, it was heartbreaking 💔 RIP to you sweet angles ❤🤍❤🤍 I'll never forget you both.
I was across the coutyard from Lori and Ashley as well. Also interviewed by the FBI. My sons played with Ashely and went to scouts with Miranda's brother Jason. I'm still friends with Lori and the heartache will never leave my soul. May they RIP 🙏
@michellepotter5763 Much love to you. It was such a wish that everything would be ok. I'm surprised we never met... Maybe we did, though. I was 17 at that time. Do you remember the young guy giving out tons of full cakes to everyone right before this unfolded?
@@sethsmith4905 you sound familiar. I was 29 at the time, with 3 young boys. Thank you for all of your efforts, I know how hard that was on your young mind.. (I went to Molalla High and we had the Molalla River Forest killer my senior year... I had friends who went out and helped look for bodies)..
You might have known Denise who had Brittni and Savannah, also.. they lived in the building up from ours.
Lori is trying to get a park built on the property. If you're still local and would like to help, just let me know.
Take care of you
Like you said, this was awful all around. With people like Ward, there's almost always a horrific backstory. That just goes to show how much of an impact a childhood has. Here these young girls were living their lives as best as they knew how despite having zero positive influence from their parents. What a shame and loss. 💔💔💔
It sure does Violet
"People like Ward" does it also take one to know one?
@@heartlights ~ With 'People like Ward' it takes knowing that they're capable of sadistic rape and murder to find, at least a large percentage of the time, that there is 'a horrific backstory.'
@@OoIoVoIoO 👌
@@heartlights I have a fascination with human psychology. I'm a true empath and could never hurt anyone, unless I was defending someone. I would like to see society recognize how childhood impacts the vast majority of criminals. If we gain a deeper understanding, there's a much better chance of preventing some of these crimes, developing improved therapies to deal with childhood trauma, etc.
Why they didn't do this in 2002 or now is.... bizarre.
I wonder what happened there. That's been a known rule since I was in school in the 70s and 80s, at least where I grew up.
If child don't show up then teachers just think they're sick. It was normal in my school for kid to not show up for a week and just come back with justification written from parents.
It’s so incredibly sad what some kids go through. It’s wild how much evil is out there and how they can prey upon others who are so innocent and pure.
predators do not believe in innocence.
Oregon especially
💜 *hugs*

My girlfriend and I have been watching you for about 2 years now and I just wanted to show some support. We love what you have been doing and always look forward to your next story.

I have been commenting on every true crimer I could to do this case. This was the first case I ever heard of when I was like 12 and no one ever talks about it. Thank you for doing this! Very important case.
BetterOffRed covered it as well not too long ago. I watched it this morning.
Had to literally stop the video. I have asked many about this story. It was heartbreaking to see it unfold on our local news. Thanks Mike for digging deep for the story- all of it and putting it together.
Isn’t it weird that some cases are like that? Usually I have a thick stomach for crimes but there have been a few cases where I was so disgusted/stomach churning/anger inducing that I had to turn off a couple of RUclips channel videos. How can ppl be like this??.
Another one ❗
this is one of the nastiest cases he's covered. those angels were defiled and slaughtered like animals. I pray for their souls.
@@GodsThirdEye Unfortunately, I believe this is not the nastiest he has covered. There are many years of videos and I stopped ranking them because honestly, that alone is nasty.
I was a teen when this happened and lived in the Pacific northwest so this case was everywhere. It was terrifying. I remember when Ashley first went missing my mom knew she was murdered and knew it was him from the get go. So sad the families tried to get the police to investigate the concrete slab he put down way before ofc the police dragged their feet on it. Theres a channel that went to all of their grave sites even ward and explained his background
He killed all those ppl and hardly got time for it. If they had sentenced him accordingly he wouldn't have been out and murdered these beautiful girls
Thanks for covering this one, Mike. Being from Oregon, this case was the thing of nightmares for those of us who were kids at the time the girls went missing. Truly horrifying that people like this stand in line with us at the grocery store. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Its so scary when the killer participates in tv interviews, searches, etc. when THEY KNOW WHAT THEYVE DONE!
I always find myself watching the interviews intently just to see if you can recognize any signs of lying.
I just wanna cry for Ashley especially.
So much deception in these young lives.
How in the world could they ever learn to trust adults?! They needed stable trustworthy families, imo.
I still remember this story so vividly, it was all over the local news, and we all felt so deeply at the time. The band Everclear even wrote a song about it, if you ever listen to the song Chrysanthemum, it's about the girls.

I LOVE it when you make obscure little comments (today from "the hangover"). Your videos are always extremely entertaining while also being respectful to the victims and survivors. God bless!
End their whole line. They shouldn't be allowed to waste another breath of air on this earth.
Geez, the two dads give POS a whole new meaning. Those poor girls.
Francis didn’t kill anybody. He was involved in a drug deal that went south and somebody else pulled the trigger. He was released some time ago and he’s a surprisingly good dude considering what he’s been through. He’s also not actually Ward’s biological son.
Big ups for bringing this up.
Where's the news about this? I read that he still have to go to a new jury.
🥺❤️
So sorry for your experience 😞 Hope you are out of harm's way now 🙏
I’m so sorry that happened to you.
