That Anderson mod really hits you. I'm still holding out hope that they will do a Mass Effect game, or series of games that follows Anderson's early career - fighting the Turians, meeting Saren, etc.
I'd played an entire Original Trylogy on mods. Fans did a ton of work, content, improvements. I have no words for it. And I hope LE will be great with them too. It is worth it. Edit: So many likes?! Thanks people! I did not know any my commnet will have so many. Thanks really.
The mods that always blow my mind are the ones that restored cut romances, some of which we continued even into ME3 despite not happening in ME2 or even ME1
@@RK-cj4oc Ashley, Kaidan, Tali, Jack, Jacob, Thane, and Miranda all at one point or another were planned to be available for same-sex relationships. Tali and Ashley specifically have cut content for FemShep in both ME2 and ME3
My favorite mod for the mass effect legendary edition is the star child be gone mod. It gets rid of the little boy showing up in Shepherd‘s dream sequences and gets rid of the star child catalyst at the end of the game. Essentially when Shepherd is next to Anderson, the crucible fires as expected destroying the reapers without killing EDI or the geth. It essentially just stitches together different parts of the various endings to create a more ideal “destroy the reapers save the whole galaxy” ending that we really wanted. Using that in combination with Anderson’s final conversation restored mod makes it all feel totally natural and not Frankenstein together at all. It feels like a proper no nonsense ending
That's about as shit as the ending we got. You completely disregard Shepards heroic death, you take away the consequences of sending what amounts to a galactic EMP into the verse by ignoring the Geth and EDI deaths. And none of it matters because the canon ending will just ignore your choice like any of the others and ME4 will be based on the red ending.
ME with mods has been a completely different experience. ME2 without shared cooldowns in particular just made my favorite game of all time into a greater masterpiece.
Dude, I seen so many videos of Anderson & Shepard talking about kids but didn’t see it through my play through. So when I did get to this point I thought I made some wrong choices where it wouldn’t pop up, good to know it was Biowares doing and not me going down the wrong road. 😅
The only mod I have done is for the Cerberus Spirit armor you get as a reward for the top score in the Ajax Arena. Thought it would be dumb finishing the game in Cerberus colours, so I got the mod that changes it to N7 colours. There's also options for Alliance and Specter armor.
Ima have to try that. I had no idea. I always thought it as SO stupid that they would reserve arguably the best armor in-game to the end of a DLC that most people reserve till the end (right before the assault on Cerberus). Only for it to not be customizable. I atleast hoped if i couldn't color it, that i could remove the helmet but even that is disabled.
I wish it was possible to add in the cut missions I heard about, where Admiral Xen goes crazy after Priority Rannoch, and preforms macabre experimentations on organics. It’s driving me crazy a bit, it sounds like it would have been terrifying, and would definitely have been a cool addition, that not only humans could be evil in mass effect 3 (that drove me crazy, that practically every evil was a human, even in the DLCs!) I wish it was possible to add, but I’m also pretty sure all that was found from it was a few lines that spoke volumes about what could have happened. Sucks, I wish BioWare took more time to flesh that out.
Great list. I have most of those myself. But you missed the most important mod of all...Mass Effect 3's Happy Ending Mod. It's very well done and gives the ending I think most players wanted.
I'm glad to see Nexus Mods are making them for ME LE, especially the ones you mentioned. Ones I'd like to see would be uniform mods like the one ME1 style Fatigues and Dress uniforms since I honestly don't like the default ones from ME3, especially since Bailey who works for C-Sec wears the same one. The others I like are to many to list though I'm sure they are being adjusted to work with LE.
Well, in the OT, MEHEM was my favorite mod, and for LE we have AHEM by Audemus. That will be my favorite mod because the Crucible doesn't eliminate the Geth nor EDI, and Shep lives, and the Starchild conversation will not happen. Also, the Movement Animation Replacer is awesome. I didn't like how Shep's walk completely changed throughout the entire trilogy. So Shep can walk like they did in LE1 through LE3.
With the Anderson dialogue ive used this mod for a while now, i play through the whole game telling everyone that asks me i dont want to retire and all there is, is the fight so in that moment on the verge of death i always tell him id like to settle down and i love how shep says they dont think theyd be good at it and I imagine him thinking about tali and rannoch as he says it. Straight to the feels man
I've use some of this mods in my legendary edition play and I can confirm they are awesome. Expecialy Save editor - it basicly saved Miranda for me, I did everything for her to survive Horizon but she died anyways. So Save editor is great.
I cannot believe I have been missing out on the modded experience for YEARS! Just got a gaming PC about a week ago and couldn't wait to try Mass Effect modded out...Tons of respect for the modders I am blown away by how much they have added into this already masterpiece! LOL I already don't even think I can play this on console again and I'm just at the middle of part 1...
My best guess for why the cut the Anderson conversation is they thought it ruined the pacing by having Shepard, who’s bleeding heavily and likely very injured, just talk with Anderson for a few minutes while Earth is still burning. Definitely think it was a bad choice to cut it though. I always thought Andersons death was forced and sudden, but this makes it feel so much more impactful.
Never understood why there was a tiny sprint boost window. You’re literally an active duty soldier and last I checked US Marines are conditioned to get in and get out in under a certain time during a mission. Some of those time frames are practically impossible if you haven’t received the stamina training required by a Marine.
The mass effect trilogy was on eof the first games like it.. that truly got me hooked on gaming. I wish i could use these mods on xbox though as they really do make the game experience even better
Save Editing Conrad Verner's situation does not fix it, it just breaks it in another way so it seemingly works. The actual fix is available with the Conrad Remembers Mod.

Great video. I’d love to see you cover more mods for sure. I know that there are at least some comprehensive bugfix mods for each game that many people consider to be essential. A video on those would be great!
Not as much as it takes me to grab the thermal clip in the medical bay, save, quit, open save editor, open that file, and putting two 0's to the end of each resource. No need going to a planet and using a probe.
Well really it has been years since Anderson just sat down. The last time he sat down was when talking with Shepard about his plan to have Shepard steal the Normandy in ME1.
The stuff like the probe material collection and No Reaper mods really come in the clutch on subsequent playthroughs. So much nothing time in ME2 just probing planets. I like the music and everything but it's just empty. Love the fact that I can mostly cut those out.
The EGM mod when fully done will be just absolute money. I used to play with the original ME 3 EGM mod and it completely changed the third game for the better - new missions, cool weapons, new team members. What Bioware was thinking rushing such a beautiful game so early? They could have done so much more with the game, have they been given 6-8 more months to polish the game!
Game journalists leaked the original script a couple months before deadline and they had to rewrite some storytelling beacons. No idea why EA decided to compromise the integrity of the game instead of using their FU money to sue, but there it is
Great video! I used some of those mods. Some...nah...I don't need them. I like doing the hacking and bypassing. I also like having to dodge the Reapers. I also used the save editor, but the truth is, changing events in ME3 is not so easy. You have to know all the things to change, or you can break your game. Altering the love interests, for instance...is not so easy. There are a lot of little tic-boxes you have to click or unclick depending on what you are trying to do. And there is no description on a lot of them. I also agree with you that Bioware should have left that dialogue for Anderson in the game. In fact, they should expanded on that. Anderson could have been involved in Shepard's training early in his career, and sered with Anderson before the Normandy. Anderson could have told Shepard he always thought of him as a son. I believe he even referred to him as son, once or twice throughout the game...or maybe just in ME3. Maybe they could have had Anderson always call him son, at least when not in a very formal setting. Maybe there could have been unique dialogue if Shepard was an orphan...where he tells Anderson that means a lot to him, because he always saw him as a father figure. I will say this...those choices as to whether a war hero, earth born, etc...could have had more unique dialogue and other unique things that accompany them. This would have given more incentive to replay the game. Like maybe he knows Fisk if he was a colonist, or spacer...which ever would tie in with Fisk better. Things like that. I am looking forward to the completion of the EGM. I never played that. I would also enjoy the MEHEM mod, if it's being updated for the LE.
I'm so glad all these mods are coming to LE! I'm still playing my regular old trilogy with all those mods plus the ALOT/ALOV HD texture/4K video upgrade mods, because LE hasn't yet had some necessities available - like Pinnacle Station in ME1, and my must-have favorites like Infinite Sprint/Boost, Expanded Galaxy Mod, and my personal favorite: Expanded Armory (I _love_ being able to combine any armor torso-suit with any legs, arms, helmet, etc. - I love the T5-V Devastator suit paired with the Blood Dragon helmet on my FemShep). If you don't have these basic mods, GET THEM! They are so much fun, make tedious planetary exploration missions so much less of a slog, and make the game so much more enjoyable! Looks like I'm gonna have to buy LE in a month or two when they finalize the remainder of these mods :)
Is Pinnacle Station really a necessity though? It's the 1 DLC that you can miss and nothing changes. Pinnacle Station doesn't change the story at all. It isn't referenced again. None of the characters in it are mentioned again.
@@thephoenixxm4160 Oh yeah it's not necessary plotwise, I just like to use the requisition computer in the apartment on Intai'sei to gamble and get every one of my crew decked out in Colossus Armor, weapon/ammo upgrades like Frictionless Materials X, and other awesome goodies as early as possible :)
@@VisionQuest057 Well, okay but I stilll think it is a worthless DLC that can't compete with Ajax Arena in ME3. Plus, even if you play it right away and somehiw beat Ahern's challenge you don't have a high chance of getting Colossus armor. That armor is more late game. When you get into VI+ Gear.
@@thephoenixxm4160 Yeah Armax Arena is definitely more fun than Ahern's challenge, but I do like the ability to sort of "roll" for better gear. It could have been implemented better for sure, it was a good idea with clumsy execution.
I made a somewhat decent custom Shepard in ME1, and then when I imported him into ME2 his face was rounder. The lip scar he had was removed, which can be explained by Project Lazarus, but the shape and color changes...

Can you do a Mass Effect Save Editor guide, cause I have trouble skipping missions in the first game for tedious things like killing all the Geth bases on repeat playthroughs
I like running the reapers While scanning. I Always catch the planet on time. If you can't , just exit the system and come back. They still slow to catch you

I would love to see a mod that adds a choplifter style mini game were you fly a shuttle or similar vehicle in me3. a real missed opportunity were you would have to chose to save civilians or military etc.
it makes no sense to me as to why they cut that dialogue between Shepard and Anderson, that's the first time i've heard it before and holy shit it makes that scene so much better than the 20 second or so one we got.
I hope someone is seeing this comment. (I play as a german in german) I play currently on PC the mass effect LE version. Played and finished part 1 and now I am in ME2. But I thought about adding some mods for Me3. My mod installer says it cannot do that. I heard rumors about an order for mods. Something about Content mods before texture mods. But how do I distinguish them ? I have some mods that are working. For example in ME2 the "one probe" mod. But the Liara Consitency mod won't work. And I have the unofficial patch.
The biggest mod, for me, was the Shepard Movement Animations Replacer on Nexus. Immediately when I started ME2 I was so let down by the awful looking animations. Being able to apply ME1's animations across 2 and 3 was a lifesaver or I was honestly going to not play the game. She runs like a damn football player/ape what were they thinking?
PEOM and any of that mod author's other content will never be ported to LE, as stated by them in the pinned post in the post section of the PEOM Mod Page on NexusMods.

@@realkorti Yeah that's why I said 'There is also a MELE3 version as well.' referring to EGM. But sadly it's not standalone. You have to get everything that comes with EGM if you want to use the weapons fix in Cutscenes for LE3. And I personally am not a fan of everything that's in EGM.
“Fate of Emily Wong“ is also good.
I mean, it's just one e-mail after you recruit Diana Allers but at least you'll learn what happened to Emily Wong.
Great list of additions, thanks for sharing 👍
@@quadcarnage8462 it's been two years, maybe I could update the list cause a lot has change since my OP.
That Anderson mod really hits you. I'm still holding out hope that they will do a Mass Effect game, or series of games that follows Anderson's early career - fighting the Turians, meeting Saren, etc.
That would be legitimately amazing. Fantastic shout
Man that talk between Anderson and Shepard really gets you in the feels. It's so wild that Bioware cut that short.
I'd played an entire Original Trylogy on mods. Fans did a ton of work, content, improvements. I have no words for it. And I hope LE will be great with them too. It is worth it.
Edit: So many likes?! Thanks people! I did not know any my commnet will have so many. Thanks really.
I tried to play with mods before but ended up referring back to my console cos the mods just kept crashing my game
@@DarthSherm94 I see. I had it too. But did not give up and I won battle. (More or less :D )
That anderson dialogue brought a tear to my eye, RIP Anderson
I just wish we could use them on consoles as well.
That Anderson gave me chills. Never seen this before and don't understand why it was cut either.
The mods that always blow my mind are the ones that restored cut romances, some of which we continued even into ME3 despite not happening in ME2 or even ME1
What do mean? Which romances?
@@RK-cj4oc Ashley, Kaidan, Tali, Jack, Jacob, Thane, and Miranda all at one point or another were planned to be available for same-sex relationships. Tali and Ashley specifically have cut content for FemShep in both ME2 and ME3
@@payableondeath7 thank god they changed it
@@dankusmemeus7093 god doesn't exist. thank the developers like a proper adult.
@@payableondeath7Ash ain't no carpet muncher.
@@DarthPoyner Nah he is right. The kid is obnoxious and a waste of time.
@@DarthPoyner Shepard can live if you have high enough militia might in vanilla
That's dumb. Why would Edi and Geth survive? A good ending should not remove the consequences
@dbsasuke
They survivdd in Andromeda and thats canon LOL COPE
ME with mods has been a completely different experience. ME2 without shared cooldowns in particular just made my favorite game of all time into a greater masterpiece.
Dude, I seen so many videos of Anderson & Shepard talking about kids but didn’t see it through my play through. So when I did get to this point I thought I made some wrong choices where it wouldn’t pop up, good to know it was Biowares doing and not me going down the wrong road. 😅
Anderson's dialogue makes most people tear up everytime they hear it.
I hope the modding community for Mass Effect keeps growing. Seeing the fans pick up slack where the developers failed is great.
I wish it was possible to add in the cut missions I heard about, where Admiral Xen goes crazy after Priority Rannoch, and preforms macabre experimentations on organics.
It’s driving me crazy a bit, it sounds like it would have been terrifying, and would definitely have been a cool addition, that not only humans could be evil in mass effect 3 (that drove me crazy, that practically every evil was a human, even in the DLCs!)
I wish it was possible to add, but I’m also pretty sure all that was found from it was a few lines that spoke volumes about what could have happened.
Straight to the feels man
The minute 10:00 absolutely destroyed me 😭😭
I've use some of this mods in my legendary edition play and I can confirm they are awesome. Expecialy Save editor - it basicly saved Miranda for me, I did everything for her to survive Horizon but she died anyways. So Save editor is great.
Maybe you romanced her in ME 2. If Shep romance her in ME2 but reject in ME3 then she die no matter what.
These mods fix nearly all the reasons I quit playing Mass Effect years ago! Thank you for this list! :)
You should do a full playthrough with these mods installed
Hmmmm maybe :D
Yes!
It's been countless time I saw Anderson's final moments, but I still cried everytime.
I cannot believe I have been missing out on the modded experience for YEARS! Just got a gaming PC about a week ago and couldn't wait to try Mass Effect modded out...Tons of respect for the modders I am blown away by how much they have added into this already masterpiece! LOL
I already don't even think I can play this on console again and I'm just at the middle of part 1...
While the save editor is certainly the most important, the Anderson Mod would have been a more emotional point to end the video on
Some other mods I recommend you to try out are Project Vareity, Bonus Power Pack, MEHEM, Tali Face Remaster Mod and Spectre Expansion Mod.
The mass effect trilogy was on eof the first games like it.. that truly got me hooked on gaming. I wish i could use these mods on xbox though as they really do make the game experience even better
10:16
would be maybe worth mentioning that with the save editior you can do BioWares Job and fix the Conrad Verner Quest
Save Editing Conrad Verner's situation does not fix it, it just breaks it in another way so it seemingly works. The actual fix is available with the Conrad Remembers Mod.
@@herobrine024 As far as i know, the bug is that in your safe file, both checkboxes for renegade AND paragon are checked and the game decides automatical it treads your game has you had taken the renegade option.
@@MrEyescream that assumption is wrong. The whole sequence is broken in both ME1 and ME2 beyond just setting the wrong flags.
@@herobrine024 and how do you know this? That was the assumption for YEARS man. That was common knowledge.
@@thephoenixxm4160 That is what the author of the Conrad Remembers Mod explained. For example, under proper circumstances Conrad is supposed to wear different armor if you intimidated him.
Great video. I’d love to see you cover more mods for sure. I know that there are at least some comprehensive bugfix mods for each game that many people consider to be essential.
A video on those would be great!
Cleaner visor. Cleans the Sentry Interface so that Shepard can actually see something and not have it cluttered with stuff :)
One probe all resources is my hands down favorite mod. Oh my god home much time it must have saved me.
Indeed!
Jesus! that extended Anderson scene is POWERFUL!
Tears fell down with that conversation my god
I heard about the one probe all mod and it's really a life saver 😁
I'll surely install some of them the next time I replay the trilogy
It really makes ME2 more bareable tbh :D
@@MrHulthen completionist problems 🤣
The stuff like the probe material collection and No Reaper mods really come in the clutch on subsequent playthroughs.
So much nothing time in ME2 just probing planets. I like the music and everything but it's just empty. Love the fact that I can mostly cut those out.
The cut conversation with Anderson is downright CRIMINAL.
So far the only game modded was ME3, but after seeing the combat improvements and thr probing cheat, I'm gonna definitely have to mod ME2 as well xd.
There’s also a mod for Miranda Lawson to able re-join the Normandy as a Love interest if you romanced her in ME2
The EGM mod when fully done will be just absolute money. I used to play with the original ME 3 EGM mod and it completely changed the third game for the better - new missions, cool weapons, new team members. What Bioware was thinking rushing such a beautiful game so early? They could have done so much more with the game, have they been given 6-8 more months to polish the game!
I've always blamed EA for the rush, blamed EA for the ending. I hate that fucking company and their meddling ways.
Game journalists leaked the original script a couple months before deadline and they had to rewrite some storytelling beacons. No idea why EA decided to compromise the integrity of the game instead of using their FU money to sue, but there it is
I'm assuming the additional missions are voiced by the mod developers or don't have any voices at all just text. Those always feel so unnatural.
That Andersson ending hit me right in the feels
Trilogy Save Editor -
"History is written by the editors"
Ur right...Andersen's talk with Shepard should have been kept in the original.
That lasr convo with Anderson is bone-chilling
Yooooo wtf, I was NOT ready for that expanded Anderson/Shepard conversation
The Shepard sprint weakness confused me. An elite soldier cannot sprint more than 30 seconds?
If only it was 30 - its more like 5.
30 seconds is pretty good for a dude that just got up from a 2 year nap, though.
@@kevh6303 not even talking qbout the nap, he was out of breath after a few seconds in the first game too
Damn, Shepard conversation with Anderson really touching my feels.
Wish bioware would adopt the expanded galaxy mod into the base game, I also wished the LE included all cut-content
An Andromeda Mods video would be great too.
Next time I play ME I'll try some of these.
I made a somewhat decent custom Shepard in ME1, and then when I imported him into ME2 his face was rounder. The lip scar he had was removed, which can be explained by Project Lazarus, but the shape and color changes...
I remember having the full conversation with Anderson in the original trilogy, did it get removed afterwards?
The full conversation was never available in either OT or LE. Mods however did reintroduce it.
@Leah NoLiah part of the conversation was there but the extended version was never all there, the modders had to add some of the camera shots
7:42 or why they didn't decide to add it as part of Extended Cut or Legendary Edition.
You know, I have been on the fence on the legendary editions of these games but I realized how I never play any of these games with mods, I'm gonna grab a copy, thank you!
You forgot Janky mako mod which brings back the funny movement of the original Mako. It makes it less boring.
thank you so much for this upload! ´please make even more videos like this, we appreciate it! 👍
Nah that me3 ending convo still tugs on the old heart strings
Can you do a Mass Effect Save Editor guide, cause I have trouble skipping missions in the first game for tedious things like killing all the Geth bases on repeat playthroughs
No mention of the Miranda Mod?
Omfg that save editor is gonna save my playthrough. I needed legion alive cause he got shot in the forehead in the suicide mission
I cant understand why they cut Anderson's final lines either. I'm getting watery eyes just listening at them.
Camera mod was removed for some reason... know of a mirror or any alternatives?
I like running the reapers While scanning. I Always catch the planet on time. If you can't , just exit the system and come back. They still slow to catch you
You did Good Son..... You did Good......
I literally finished legendary edition 100% yesterday and now this video pops up 😔
Yoo !! I can do some experiments with the save editor 🔥
I wish these mods could be uploaded to the PS5, as they all seem so useful. :(
I need that all resource mod. I'm still in ME1 but that will save so much time and eliminate all the tedious nonsense that mining involves in that game.
I want to play mass effect on pc so bad...especially modding in andromeda, but I use my PC heavily for work so...idk.. 😅 will be happy to see what mods are cool though...just in case 👀
Big thanks for 7:51
Hmmmm.... I want a mod that includes real life firearms like M-16, AK, G3 and FAL just for fun.
Thanks Mr. Hulthen!
you also have a cut in the first anderson scene in MAE3 where he addresses that with the Baterianer system
I thought mass effect 3 already had unlimited sprint or is that only on the lowest difficulty level
The one that retires all npcs in the priority earth mission in me3 is the best one personally
Feels like cyberpunk now. Just imagine John Shepard as Silverhand
Love the haircut. Keep up the great videos!
Hah thanks! 😉
Outstanding video! Thank you!
Mods never work for me, I know how to add them but when I click “Apply Mod” and then load the correct game it goes with it never works? I can’t find anything on the internet whatsoever about how to fix this and I’m getting frustrated because I’ve spent hours trying to get this to work
Love the Happy Ending Mod
I would love to see a mod that adds a choplifter style mini game were you fly a shuttle or similar vehicle in me3. a real missed opportunity were you would have to chose to save civilians or military etc.
A mod that makes getting resources in me 2 in one go? Excellent.
it makes no sense to me as to why they cut that dialogue between Shepard and Anderson, that's the first time i've heard it before and holy shit it makes that scene so much better than the 20 second or so one we got.
There's also a restoration mod for Miranda's hidden assets now, just fyi
Haha hidden assets
Could you make a tutorial on how to add mods
Casey Hudson insisted Anderson's dialogue be cut as he considered it too long and broke the flow of the story.
Holy shit, I actually teared up at the Anderson convo. Games don’t make me cry!
BioWare, why?
Came to this video for mods but left crying after that anderson mod, thanks.
I wonder why nobody makes a mod to change how Shep and NPCs handle their SMG like a real SMG and not like a pistol
I see no "shut up Leng" mod.
I hope someone is seeing this comment. (I play as a german in german)
I play currently on PC the mass effect LE version.
Are these still the best mods for Mass Effect LE?
Is priority earth overhaul mod available for LE? If yes, it is also recommended.
It's not available yet. Not sure if they're working on it or not.
PEOM and any of that mod author's other content will never be ported to LE, as stated by them in the pinned post in the post section of the PEOM Mod Page on NexusMods.
