I did the curls going out to the sides and OMG my arms where so sore the next day! I also did the preacher hammer curl and the difference is insane! I’ve had some mad from this mikes knowledge! So while some hate some learn and grow!!!
Natty or not who cares, everything else mike says is spot and easily applicable while other fitness stuff is overload of info left me confused. Sticking to the basics is key.
I am in awe of older guys who not only look great but have function to back it up. Mr. Chuck Sipes (RIP) was my mentor years ago and, likewise, a powerhouse.
@@MikeOHearnTitan just wondering have you ever put out a video here on youtube or on your facebook page detailing in details a workout program for someone like myself in my mid 50's whose been working out (lifting) for only a few 6 months? the usual trying to gain mass and muscle but keep the bodyfat at bay? currently doing a 3 day a week full body workout that i switch up every 3 to 4 weeks (exercises, reps, etc.) anyway, i'm rambling sorry!...
I agree. I'm 52 and getting better in my bodybuilding all the time. I tend to focus on the heavy and lower rep ranges. I do mix in higher reps though, but I don't focus on tons of reps.
Alotnof people talk shit about Mike but man this guy looks amazing and he is strong as hell, scary strong, I wanna train with him to just learn I’m 53 and I work out 5 days a week I no it’s too much but I can’t stop going to gym afraid to loose strength
Say what you want haters, for me as a 24yo doing athlétisme i admire mike and working my way to be like him at 50 years of age All the love from North Africa
The changing the curl position from outer to straight to inside was kinda mind blowing. Dang. I sorta knew that, I just never thought to do it really. I wish I could have a lot of workouts back.
One thing Mike Ohearn does which is the best thing for growth is he always does different angles which gives your body muscle confusion. Besides my compound movement i never do the same exercise two weeks in a row
Does this principle work for all muscle groups. Like how Mike relaxes the bicep at the bottom. So I'm squatting when I stand up after each squat rep is it the same principle
I love that classic physique and body you have like Arnold and those of the 70’s. I would love if you could workout with more 70’s clothes though please.
Mike is right on this. Power really is the last thing to go. I'm only 34 and I'm suffering from a few injuries, not workout related, but bc of them, I have other things that from working out flares up bad. Since I'm working through injuries, I always say, I dont wanna lift too much and hurt myself, but I dont wanna do so many reps I wear my joints and tendons out. Lifting heavy combined with adequate stimulation is key
Awesome arm workout mike thanks for the tips they go a long way happy New Year mike. Mona and the future titan. Jeffrey my Hispanic brother Sergio besafe😷bro🐅👑
110 is quite heavy but I have noticed after over a year or so of consistently curling heaving how much stronger my arms have gotten. I started at 80 ez curl for 1-2 reps to repping it for 10-12. It really is all about lifting heavy over time for the best results
Work = force × distance. If you add weight, you add force --> higher work If you add reps, you add distance--> higher work Too much work ages you. It works both ways (bidirectional)
At 7:00 Jeff says " put it in the Arsenal " as he focused towards the back mirror. I see what you did there , Lol . Be Safe and Happy New Year's 2021 and Good Riddance to 2020 - from Boston ...
What's up mike. I know a lot of weight lifters, bodybuilders that have had hernias, and got it from lifting weights. I agree with u and definitely lift as heavy as possible. Havent got one yet, knock on wood. Have u ever had a hernia?
I’ve trained 26 years and never had one my uncle got one doing construction work it’s just luck really mate if you could get one from lifting I’d have one
Hey Mike we're both the same age, oldschool bodybuilding as well, full range of motion. None of this half rep crap. Arnold said half reps does not build muscle, full range does, and Arnold is the king of oldschool body building. How do you weigh today, I'm about 250, working out since highschool in 84. Since knee high to a grass hopper.
Mike, Do you ever incorporate resistance bands in any work out? Or, use them for a quick pump at home, or out? I am so, restricted on equipment right now, being heavily restricted because of socially distancing in WA state. I was 408 lbs, down to 165 lbs. and now at 178 lbs or so, most cause of resistance bands, but waiting on the gyms to open again to pump up to about 215-225lbs with a frame of 5ft 9., Thank you, for all your info. Your a LEGEND.
I just subscribed to your channel last week. I’m not sure how or why I missed it all these years but I’m learning new movements to add to my lifting routine! I’m really enjoying your channel. Keep banging the iron.
This is where I get so very confused. You have Rich Piana who used to preach that high reps, low weight is the best for building muscle and having longevity and lifting heavy with low reps is hard on the tendons/body. But, you have people, like Mike O'hearn here, that say that lifting heavy is more healthy for you than lifting lighter at higher reps. From 3:00-4:30, in the video, he states this. So, why are there such differing viewpoints on what is good for you from one bodybuilder to another? I know that Mike is a powerbuilder, but I still see him do a lot of lighter weight at higher reps in his videos.
Respect mike..yo to my real hittaz..question..what is proper way of doing curls..i use to do them like this but other channels will say bend your wrist down..
What workout video do you want to see next?
Neck exercises would be really helpful
Back workout with dumbbells
Bodybuilding programs for experienced lifters 50 and over.
Chest work out for people with pectus . The folks with sunken chests .
All 3 heads of delts +exercises for them
Finally a video wth only mike more or less and not a bunch of people repeating what mikes already said ten times

Very Awesome advice Mr. O'Hearn!
You have explained the heavyweight lifting better than anyone!
Thank you Sir!🖒

4:40 I see what your saying mike but what if you do both heaviest max reps to failure pr every time and finish off with light really slow reps after
What an incredible philosophy in the beginning!!! This is why I do both to mix it up
Mike your a legend mate , thanks for providing this video , my biceps are now 18 all around !
His technique n form is absolutely insane
Elbow position is crucial. Elbows in front, elbows behind the body. Best to mix it up. Surprised he didn’t mention this.
DAMMMNNN! MIKE LOOKING GOOOOOOOD
One thing Mike Ohearn does which is the best thing for growth is he always does different angles which gives your body muscle confusion. Besides my compound movement i never do the same exercise two weeks in a row
It is not about confusing muscle it is all about growing all different parts of the muscle.
Example three bicep heads.
@@zeusraptis5834 I agree but that still stimulates muscle confusion growth
Just glad you guy's are able to stay open through Covid!
mike always looking into the distance bro. like far into a different world.
Mike in other videos: "WOOOOO! YEEEAHHHH!! OWN IT! WHOooOOOO!!!!"
Mike in this video: "Why so noisy over there? Jeez." 😂
Does this principle work for all muscle groups. Like how Mike relaxes the bicep at the bottom. So I'm squatting when I stand up after each squat rep is it the same principle

Hard to comprehend erroneous information, comical.
Please do not argue that a bicep curl is a compound exercise... first 30 seconds of video.
