    It's amazing the pump and deepness we can achieve with just 40lb. That machine is interesting. I believe the amount of stress put on the muscle is not necessarily correlated with heavy weight. I kill my biceps with 25's all the time. I use 40's too, fairly easily, but the reps and concentration with 25's or 30's creates incredible stress on it.

    • @georgepoly4842
      @georgepoly4842 2 года назад +4

      Yeah similar here. Usually just kill my biceps with heavy weight for 3-4 sets then drop the weight and focus purely on contraction to end it.

      @@peedro5842 Heavy weight alone does not build muscle mass to the degree that time under tension does. It just doesn't. I use heavy weight at the beginning when fresh and immediately attack my muscles with set after set with almost no rest. It gives a pump and growth you would not believe. And it used to be 'SLAP ON MORE WEIGHT' for me as well for decades. I have learned to put away the ego. You still get stronger anyways.

The guy doesn't take breaks, each set and each rep hes mastered with perfect form. The guy has been doing it for 40 years, let that sink in, 40 years. Thats why he looks like he does, not from steroids, not from any other bullshit, just flat out hard work and most important consistency day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year. Uhhh, correct me if I'm way off here, but wouldn't an increased resistance using bands accomplish basically the same thing??? He increased the resistance as he saw Mike raise the weight through a set, which in turn, would be analogous to using more bands or thicker ones? If the idea is to lengthen the muscle for a more efficacious rep, then save the hundreds of bucks for one session and buy a $10 set of resistance bands. If, for an increased mind-muscle connection, then negatives should do the trick, right???
    Mike is there again being Mike. He wants to show the world his (un)natty body and gives kudos along with a nice plug for the guy who plugged in the machine seem like the Albert Einstein of bodybuilding. Lookout Joe Weider, there's a new kid in town and he's making a mockery of the time, blood, sweat, and tears you put in for over half a century seem like child's play.
    Lastly, on a slightly morbid note. What would happen if the muscle gets injured in the middle of a set?? Does the machine have a panic button on it?? I mean if you're injured but the same stimuli persists then what the hell can you do besides drop the weight and run over to the kill switch?

    work out quicker, rest more deeply, heavy weights still matter. Joint strength comes before muscle strength. This is a great tool to mix in.

    • @johngrantland680
      @johngrantland680 2 года назад

      @@BudgetGainsByJJ People can only intensely focus for short periods. It's better to work out 1,2 or 3 times a day "in the zone" verse showing up cause it's a gym day. Mindset is changed thus results will change.

      Life is random in real nature. If you were outdoors hunting would you exert yourself only when it was time? Or when nature says it is time? You would push your instincts to being ready when you saw your targeted kill. The hunt would be intense and quick. That's the way we were created..
