Not only is he a key member of the band, but genuinely nice down to earth fella.I had the pleasure of meeting him in 1984 while he was walking down the street with his Bodyguard Peter.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿We had a drink with him in a local bar in Cannes ,and then he said would we like to go back to the hotel he was staying in.We had a good chat a little drink, stayed for about an hour then as we left he gave us some VIP badges to attend a gig in Lyon a few days later. After he came off stage he still had time to meet us backstage for a Newcastle Brown and a photograph.🎸🎤🍻

AC/DC did not find Brian Johnson, Bon Scoot told them that if something happened to him that Brian should be his replacement. I'm 64 and first saw AC/DC in 1978. Got to see the Bon Scott.

I'm fortunate to have grown up during an era that you had to buy albums to listen to the music. I agree 100% that there was an appreciation to save the money and go purchase something your favourite band released. Having a physical copy of an album and reading the linear notes was a joy. Rock on! 😎🎸🎵

I met Brian a few years back. He was racing his Bentley and pretty much gave me a tour of the car front to back. I probably talked to him for about 20 minutes, and never talked about music once. I even forgot to ask for an autograph. He is a really laid back guy with a talent that is just awesome.

Bon Scott was the one who told the young brothers about Brian. He saw Brian play with Geordie and at the time Brian had his appendix burst and was screaming into the mic trying to finish the song and after that Bon told Mal and Angus this was the guy to replace him if anything ever happened to him.

To all the people that think Brian Johnson made AC/DC great, well it’s obvious you never saw Bon live! So many rock stars said Bon Scott was the greatest frontman they ever saw. I love Brian Johnson and his done a lot for that band. I can only imagine what AC/DC would’ve been like today with Scott at helm

Credits and respect to Brian, he is a nice guy and amazing singer n remarkable performer, his last contribution to the Slash album (Killing floor) shows that he is more versatile then expected, nice to hear him sing in a lower region, but.. i still and always will believe that Back in Black was already finished for both music and lyrics.. its an add up.. the lyrics breath Bon, it is drenched in his humour n style with a naughty twist as all previous albums, the albums after Back in Black are different.. although it will never be officially confirmed, it would mean that the first big major would be Thunderstruck in stead of Back in Black.. but lol who am i.. its just my thoughts about it, that many others have too.. AC/DC ❤ Hail to them all🙌🏼

Brian used to drink at a little place in Sarasota, Florida that I played weekends in the house band. Pretty much sat there by himself, quietly drinking for hours.
I talked to him once, but folks just left him alone, and I think that's why he liked the place. 1994 or so.

To those who claim and think Bon Scott wrote ALL of the lyrics to Back in Black, there sure are a lot of photos of the rehearsals with Brian writing on sheets of paper and Malcolm over his shoulder. Granted I think a lot of ideas came from Bon. Not full songs but some lines and ideas. Brian even said it was like a supernatural experience when he wrote You Shook me. His pen basically started moving on its own and he felt like Bon was there in the room with him. Either way, great fucking album and a great tribute to Bon. Listen to the lyrics and over half that album is dedicated to and for Bon.

Back in Black was a seminal album and captured the mood and shock in the aftermath of Bon's demise. I've been lucky to see the band with both singers. Johnson seems a very aimiable guy and - as others have said - was recruited at Scott's suggestion. Great, great band!

One of the singer front/men that Malcolm and Angus contacted was Noddy Holder. from group SLADE. and Noddy was very impressed and appreciated that thought of him. but respectfully had to pass because he couldn't leave SLADE. and the rest of course is history. AC/DC went on to bring Brian Johnson into the group. and he did a great job as their singer front/man. and Brian Johnson worked hard be respectful to the memory of Bon Scott. and all these years later Brian Johnson was the wise choice. although he was was out of the group for a while. due to a hearing loss condition. and during that time Axle Rose from Metallica was the singer front/man for AC/DC. but Brian Johnson got lucky and was introduced to a doctor. that wasn't able to fix his hearing condition. which brings us to now. but in between that time probably the most important member of the group. Malcolm Young passed away from dementia. and he was replaced by their cousin Stevie. but the loss of Malcom was a huge blow to the group. but never say quit with AC/DC.

For the fan/listener, this is a great time in music. Back in the "good ole days" I would go spend money that wasn't easy to come by to buy and album, then was usually disappointed that most of the album was simply not as good as the songs that led me to buy them. On the other hand, I would buy an album because of a song, then find out the rest of the album is far better than the stuff the radio played...and it would aggravate me because how could the industry skip those songs?
Thankfully cassette tapes allowed me to compilate the best songs from albums instead of having to skip or fat forward through the not so good stuff, then burning CD's, it got even better. Now, you can listen to most music on Spotify and then just go buy the songs you actually like, or just pay the monthly subscription to stream...or "obtain" the mp3s another way for your collection.
Some may be nostalgic for the days when album sales was the major money intake for the bands, but I think the fact that they need to tour to make up for the album sales, makes them better bands. There were bands 30-50 years ago that were total disappointments live.

I must be in a rut then. I own over 2,000 cd's. AC/DC, to straight up blues to pounding metal. I still play them from first song to last. Road trips are filled with me singing along to albums. If I can't get it on cd, I don't want it. I still own many records, cassettes and even 8-tracks. The very first album I bought was the Blues Brothers on 8-track. Though I listen to tunes on youtube, I have never 'downloaded' music, I am not sure I even know how!

Bon Scott wrote Back in Black. Brian Johnson - despite being a nice bloke, I'm sure - had no track record in producing lyrics of this quality. His only writing credit to date had been the Geordie Stomp - also on You Tube. Listen to it and tell me how you get from there to rock poetry? And then tell me why AC/DC's lyrics went off a cliff over subsequent albums.

Fewer mega stars is like fewer billionaires.
I had no cash to spare to buy albums, and I felt cheated when there were only three tracks I liked, yet I’d been conned into buying 12.
I now play amateur trad Scots/Irish dance music, and am thrilled to be able to find fellow musicians available on Spotify etc, and was able to find the perfect blend of famous and unknown artists to collect the perfect blend of my brothers funeral.
Bon Scott was a balladeer and cheeky with it, and it was his story telling that held the fans, as much as his unique style.

The one story I heard is that bon Scott.... Was a fan of Brian Johnson.. insane I'm in a band somewhere and told the guys in the band that they he like the way he sang songs... So the guys look them up

I wasn't really into AC⚡DC much until back in black. But I heard earlier stuff with Bon about as much. Yeah, a distinct difference in vocals, but not in bands. I just accepted them both the same. But still, I was never a fanatic even though I been to a few of their shows. Their shows were awsome.
