    The only issue would be your head covering the panel you are selecting items in.

      yea... and the fact, that he is sometimes a little bit too fast!
      He is pressing short cuts like a star craft player as if he is being hunted! XD
      Did he explain anywhere how you select Islands? I know, that I had seen that being mentioned in a tutorial of another guy some weeks ago, but can not recall where it is and how I reproduce this.
      Was watching this to "refresh" my brain and only I see him making kind a double click to select these Isles, but I must have missed, where he tells, what he is exactly doing to select those so easily. Another thing for optimizing his tutorials would be showing on screen which buttons he presses.

      Whend did he do that, he explained you need to right click to create seams and u to unwrap, he showed a mirroring plugin at the end (that's better/easier than the mirror modifier) so you can unwrap just the half and save time

      he isnt really selecting anything important there, marking seams, unwrapping etc all can be seen.

    for anyone who is stuck on the part around 3:40 where he is clicking behind his facecam:
    - go to "Material" tab on the vertical sidebar (with the globe that has a grid on it)
    - press the "+" button on the far right side to add a new material
    - go down to 'base color' and select 'image texture' from the popup menu
    - under image texture select 'new'
    - in the popup, set 'Generated Type' to 'UV Grid'
    now when you press Z in the workspace, it will bring up a popup menu, click the bottom one for 'material preview'
    this will show the UV grid as a texture, which let's you see any distortions on your model

    for those who don't see UVs by default when you go into the UV editor, just highlight the whole mesh in edit mode (A), hit U, and then in the Unwrap menu, you can select something like Unwrap, and then the UVs will appear.

    • @ThomasPotter

    is´nt there at faster way to do this? sure if you have a figure like yours with very low resolution, this is doable, but say you just double the amount of detail, then this process will take forever. this really has to be worked on in this programe.

    • @ThomasPotter
      @ThomasPotter  2 года назад +1

      Theres no problems with it being a higher resolution. I've worked on high poly models and never come into problems

    how can i make uv unwrap in blender i find this very difficult

  • @Megahertz2000
    @Megahertz2000 2 года назад

    Hi i have a bit of a question, so I have my seams marked down and unwrapped and I got 3 seams: the thigh, the knee, and the ankle just like in your model. I unwrap both the thigh and under the knee area separately but when I want to move a specific unwrapping- let’s say, the thigh, it also drags the start of the other unwrapping which would be the ankle. It drags where the knee would be and I can’t unselect those vertices either or else it’ll unselect the ones from the thigh as well. I Wanted to know if there’s a way to fix this? Like in 4:47 you’re able to move it without an edge from the other being dragged. Sorry for the bad explanation, it’s something that’s been bugging me X(. I can specify more on something if you’d want me to

      Just change into face select mode at the top of the viewport or press 3 at the top of your keyboard
