Still better than a Green Iguana though."
Everything is better than a Green Iguana... I remember when my young daughter asked me for an Iguana as her first pet reptile... I was about to cave, but thought i'd better do research... glad I did... she got a Bearded Dragon instead... that was a few years ago, and my daughter loves her Bearded Dragon... no Green Iguanas in our future!

My near-adult sits on my shoulder for hours as long as he's calm and warm but it really depends on the baby you got. (Tiberius never jumps off) but he honestly just thinks he's a dog I think.
As cool as these guys are, the whole running on two legs thing is a big old nope for me 😂 I’d have nightmares of being chased by one, I just know it. Side note: where do we petition to get Clint his own show on Animal Planet or the Discovery Channel? We have to make this happen!
It's not actually particularly scary looking, more goofy than anything. I used to have one of these guys and when he got spooked seeing him frill up and do his goofy bicycle run with this little arms flopping around uselessly at his sides never failed to have me laughing.
Dennis Nedry is an awesome name! I remember seeing that film in the cinema when I was about 7. That was the dinosaur that scared me the most! lol I read the book when I was about 12, and OH BOY! Did they leave a LOT of the horrific details out of the film! I actually felt sorry for Nedry in the book haha!
There were legitimately disturbing parts of the book they had to cut out for the film to make it more kid friendly. That scene, and the beginning with the compies and the infant most notably.
Hahahahahah….. good one. I would pretend that my dog was invisible if he went under the dining room table. He ended up spending a lot of time down there. He'd come out once in a while to "surprise" me :)
Dude i dont think anyone else caught onto the fact that you are quoting the movie. Yur pretty witty and sharp. Surprised not many were sharp enough to catch that.
Always important to annunciate when using that unit. The Three Mile Island disaster was caused when somebody heard "metric button" instead of "metric butt ton"...
I actually bought a frilled dragon as my first pet lizard and she has been amazing. I bought her from a great pet shop when she was 4 months old, and Ive had her for about a year now. Although she was expensive, and she was very fearful of me at first she has become a great pet to handle and take care of over all. If you have the money I would 100% recommended this animal. BTW I keep her in a 70 gallon aquarium for anyone wondering.
I have a 11ish month old Australian frill neck and he’s the chillest dude you’ve ever met. He watches movies with me, cooks with me, everything. He’s awesome. I wouldn’t ask for any other lizard over him 🥰
I absolutely love these lizards! The reason I won't get one is that they show their cool frills when they're stressed out, so I'd hate to have a reptile that people expect me to stress out all the time.
@@ohno4458 if you remove the whole dilophosayr scene from the first book, TLW has the win is gore, but with the dilophosaur scene, they are about tied.

Clint's Reptiles I’ve got a sort of web leading up to my final reptile. Right now I’ve got my first lizard, a bearded dragon. I’m thinking I want a frilled dragon next, but I’m unsure if that’s too big of a jump in difficulty from a beardie. After the frilled dragon, a red eyed crocodile skink or a sand fish. I’m hoping by the time I’ve handled those enough I’ll be prepared for an Argentine Tegu! That’s my final lizard of my list, and the one I want the most.
I have had a couple of these lizards about 10 years ago. Just like in the video, they can be flighty and defensive. Then at the other extreme, they can be absolutely adorable. Having two of them was a challenge since the bigger one, which I think was a male, dominated at feeding time over the slightly smaller one which was a suspect female. Otherwise they got along fine and even cuddled together on a branch that I had in the cage. Like I said, they can be adorable. Even when I took one to the vet for malnourishment, she said that the smaller one was so cute. I initially had plans for them as breeders, but looking back, they were displayed as a group so I think they were siblings. So I would like to stay away from inbreeding. I only had them a little over a year. It was very tragic how they died, but I do intend on giving my next ones better chances. Like a good number of lizards they are susceptible to metabolic bone disease, so the UVA and UVB lights are a must. I felt mine Cuban lobster roaches, mealworms and crickets if I had any around. Dousing the lizards food with calcium powder at feeding time is a good practice indeed. They need all the calcium they can get. As for water, I used to use a syringe, but since there have been products available for species which only drink flowing water such as the big and little dripper and the Exoterra dripper plant, which comes in a few sizes, but is on the expensive side @ $50. As babies, from what I have experienced, can be fun and comical as when I had them both scampering around on the back of my neck during handling. They probably shouldn’t have been my first lizards, but I really did enjoy having them.
Can you handle a dromaeosaur (raptor-type dinosaur) though? I'd personally recommend _Hesperonychus_ for its smaller size and the fact that it requires less space than a V-raptor, though it still needs a lot of space to run around. Small mammals are recommended as food. They also have a tamer demeanor though they are still nippy. I'd say around a solid B or B+ in overall score.
my girlfriend is really wanting to keep frilled dragons, but she wants to make it so he/she has a very active vivarum with plants too, what do you recommend as reptile safe live plants and do you also have any suggestions for DIY vivariums? i was thinking about re-purposing furniture such as a china cabinet, entertainment stand, etc... links are amazing too! also youre so enthusiastic :D

My CB Australian frilled dragon that I owned about 10 years ago cost me thousands of dollars in the first two years. He had his own 4x6x2 custom built terrarium. Ceramic heat emitter for basking, so much food that I ended up breeding silkworms to keep him fed. And still got large crickets to feed as well. And he absolutely hated my guts. I would have to wear leather welding gloves when I would take him out for tank cleaning or a soak in the tub. I had an amazing Frilled Dragon. Once he got used to us you could open the door of is viv and he would run across the room and climb up you onto your head and just sit there for hours. Only thing was he was so friendly I only once saw him frill up, at a cat. He did like my ex better than me, though so I let them stay together! They look like little moths when they are babies. My favorite lizard, even if mine was a traitor!
They're my favourite animals , I wish I could keep them but lizards aren't allowed as pets in my country,we wouldn't even need much misting since our humidity is 64% at minimum usually going past 90% . I only get to mess with changeable lizards, they freak when you first pick them up but they calm down after awhile and don't want to leave your hands anymore, I've been bitten by those a lot but it probably doesn't hurt as much as frilled lizards. Lol Dennis Nedry, magic word time.
We had an australian frilled dragon named drake when I was younger. He was a rescue from my half brother who had recently been arrested. He was super docile especially with my dad, and would love to climb on us and sit on our shoulder. He would just sit and watch as we would stand by our back sliding door for him, or just walk around the house lol. He hated being held though and was notorious for shitting on everything, thankfully it was always a pretty easy clean up.
How do you think these would do in a 4 by 2 by 2 foot enclosure, so only two feet high, ? Would they be fine if I gave them a lot of branches but more kinda horizontally? Thanks
Hi Clint I was thinking about getting a sailfin dragon but been doing reasurch them and there are videos out there but very little info in them I always come to ure channel when I am thinking about getting a new lizard because you cover all the bases could I get some tips on them? Thanks in advance
I love my little frillie ❤️ i always say he’s part bearded dragon part frog. He is harder to keep than my bearded dragons so I wouldn’t recommend it to beginners.
When I was like 12 my parents were sold a baby bearded dragon.... Turned out to be a frilled one, our cat went to close to the cage once and its friill went up and that's how we found out
They are worth about 5 times as much and were pretty rare just 20 years ago. I doubt they bought anything "on accident". You don't get a Ferrari accidentally when someone sells you a Honda Civic.
I guess frillys are very personality dependent. Our frilly loves chilling with us. She taps on her viv door when we are nearby to come and spend time being pet and generally chilling on us! She was definitely captive bred and we've had her from a bit smaller than this guy.
I heard there's two types of frilled Lizards you can get. The New Guinea Frilled Lizard which is the one you will most likely find in a pet store and the Australian Frilled Lizard which are more rare to find as a pet and the Australian Frilled Lizard gets larger than the New Guinea Frilled Lizard.
Hey Clint, there's a ton of snakes that I would love an informative video about. I see these exotic snakes at expos that just don't have a lot of info online. I'm thinking Asian Vine Snakes, Elephant Trunk Snakes, Madagascar Hognose, etc. I see people buying them at every expo but there's almost no info available!
These guys are so cute! For a future video, could you do one on rodent feeders? Not necessarily live vs frozen ( I wouldn't really want to open that can of worms) but mice vs. Rats and how to choose an appropriately sized meal for your snake
Yay! Another video! Your content is some of the best and most informative I have ever seen. Your reference to Jurassic Park made my whole day. I have “Life Finds a Way” tattooed on my arm haha. Best movies ever!
I mean frilled dragons are cool and all but an accurate dilophosaurus was unique by dinosaur standards, and that’s really says it all. Just look it up, it’s pretty crazy.

WHY DO YOU AMERICANS CALL BLUE TONGUE LIZARDS, BLUE TONGUE SKINKS, AND FRILLED NECKED LIZARDS FRILLED DRAGONS, DO YOU JUST NOT LIKE THE WORD LIZARD, greetings from Australia!
I am surprised by the standing water thing. All the 'frilled dragons I've worked with would drink from a water bowl without issue and even soak themselves in it sometimes like a water dragon. I have also had great success socializing them with the help of dubia roaches, as most frilled dragons seem to just looooooove them.
It's so cool looking it propped up a dinosaur in Jurassic Park. No other lizard can flex that. Green Iguana: hey I inspired that Godzilla movie! ....back to the shame corner with you...
Hey Clint, what is the highest point an adult 'pagona vitticepts' can leap from 'safely?'...I'm assuming 12-14 ft... Mine has launched from my shoulder many a time (I'm 5'6).... I know they are semi aboreal and will flatten and stretch out while in the air. They will also stretch their arms out like Superman. They make themselves rigid along the spine and neck (I've seen cartwheels).... How can we test this without 🙊 incurring the wrath of PETA???
So are these like the frilled necked lizard from Australia? Coz for one, they grow a lot bigger than that little baby, and it's even hard for Aussies to get their hands on one. Not having a dig or anything, I for one, love your channel (personally, I wish I could have a gargol (please correct on spelling 😅😅) gecko, coz... cute af (and so cute and squishy looking!!!!! 😍) ... But us Ozzie's down here need licences to own all the cool reptiles. I think the frilled necks require a level 3/4? Which is expensive.... And hard to acquire. Aaaaaaaannny-hoo... I hear, blue toungs are cool and very easy maintenance, And you can get them in the states too? Also, have you heard of a barking gecko?? Level 1 or 2 reptile licence required where I am. I was bored. So I wrote this. Hi :)
My uncle gives his frillie a waterfall and she drinks it fine when he added a small pond she loved swimming in it NO HUMIDITY PROBLEM he mists her 2 times a day morning and afternoon
Thank you! New frilled dragon owners here! I love your references to chameleons lol we are ambitious reptile keepers and also have a panther chameleon in Denver, CO. Talk about humidity control! Our current lil dude is eating like a champ. Constant tweaks to habitat, humidity and temperature are challenging to perform with disturbing the little dude too much.
Being from Florida, I've often wondered do you guys ever have problems with keeping animals at such a high altitude? I've always wanted to visit Colorado but fear a massive headache if I go. I'm sensitive to pressure even during thunderstorms and figure small animals must be even more affected..
I had to get one of these so I did... i bought a female Indonesian frilled lizard... I got a Male Australian frilled lizard.. Instant Upgrade! Now he’s just over 3ft and has a flame red belly and frill. His name is Kye.

Hi Clint I was thinking about getting a sailfin dragon but been doing reasurch them and there are videos out there but very little info in them I always come to ure channel when I am thinking about getting a new lizard because you cover all the bases could I get some tips on them? Thanks in advance
Love those Jurassic Park references
I love my little frillie ❤️ i always say he’s part bearded dragon part frog. He is harder to keep than my bearded dragons so I wouldn’t recommend it to beginners.
"Many of them are prone to stressing and they can bite n*" 2:25
Dennis Nedry 😂😂😂
When I was like 12 my parents were sold a baby bearded dragon.... Turned out to be a frilled one, our cat went to close to the cage once and its friill went up and that's how we found out
They are worth about 5 times as much and were pretty rare just 20 years ago. I doubt they bought anything "on accident". You don't get a Ferrari accidentally when someone sells you a Honda Civic.
How could anyone not tell the difference between the two, at any age?
The handling depends. Mine loves just chilling on my lap while I watch movies
1:05 love the judging look in his eyes.
Another stinkin' rad video! Awesome reptile.
Thank you so much, and thank you so very much for supporting us!
You, Clint, remind me Killgrave from Jessica Jones
David Tennant !
Rats and how to choose an appropriately sized meal for your snake
don't these spit acid?
please do a video about best pet tarantulas 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yay! Another video! Your content is some of the best and most informative I have ever seen.
Your reference to Jurassic Park made my whole day. I have “Life Finds a Way” tattooed on my arm haha. Best movies ever!
Oh my goodness, I love this comment so much!
behold!
stephen irwin reborn!
There was a dinosaur that has a frill it was the dilofisaurous the spelling isn’t correct but there is one
The dilofisaurois is in the movie Jurassic park the second one
"Do you want to be a stick?, You are just s stick" 😍
I love this channel it made me get my leapord gecko 🦎
That was a great choice! I'm so glad that we could help.
Is my fave dinosaur
I NEEDED this video! I've actually wanted to learn more about frilled dragons for a while! Thanks for sharing!
You bet!
I mean frilled dragons are cool and all but an accurate dilophosaurus was unique by dinosaur standards, and that’s really says it all. Just look it up, it’s pretty crazy.
There so beautiful! ! ! I love them and i love your RUclips channel too !!!
"You want to pretend to be a stick. That's ok. I don't even know you're there."😭😭😭
Welcome, to Clintrassic Park “So many lizards, all the snakes to herp, so much fuuun tooo watch.” Ba dun dun don don, Ba dun dun don don, baaaaaaadada dun dun dun, dun.
WHY DO YOU AMERICANS CALL BLUE TONGUE LIZARDS, BLUE TONGUE SKINKS, AND FRILLED NECKED LIZARDS FRILLED DRAGONS, DO YOU JUST NOT LIKE THE WORD LIZARD, greetings from Australia!
It would be cool to get one as a pet and name it Dennis Nerdy
I didn’t realize the lizards name in the videos name was Dennis when i made this comment. Great minds think alike.
Lilttle girl: I'm tired of digging holes grandpa !
Grandpa: WELL THAT'S TOO DAMN BAD !
I am surprised by the standing water thing. All the 'frilled dragons I've worked with would drink from a water bowl without issue and even soak themselves in it sometimes like a water dragon. I have also had great success socializing them with the help of dubia roaches, as most frilled dragons seem to just looooooove them.
Mini Dilophosaurus
I knew why it was called Nedry
Hi :)
And despite all they're flaws, frilled lizards STILL have an edge over green iguanas. Which should tell you just what awful pets those lizards make.
My uncle gives his frillie a waterfall and she drinks it fine when he added a small pond she loved swimming in it NO HUMIDITY PROBLEM he mists her 2 times a day morning and afternoon
Huh, I've never seen these at animal Ark, and I shop there way to much. XD love that you found him though.
I’ve been dreaming of owning one for years 😍
He's tripping me out a little. Very cool video. Learning bout lizards 😀
I have three of these guys. Pablo, Khaleesi and Ninja. Only 2 like to be handled but they're amazing animals.
Or mercury vapor bulbs (Shows infrared bulb) lol You should do a peters banded skink episode
I don't know why that was in there.
I had to get one of these so I did... i bought a female Indonesian frilled lizard... I got a Male Australian frilled lizard.. Instant Upgrade! Now he’s just over 3ft and has a flame red belly and frill. His name is Kye.
why are frilled dragons $250 now? when i was a kid i picked one up at Petco for $50 :l
5:11 or you could avoid frequent misting by getting the Australian species (which is quite a bit cooler)
