Actually, the Dilophosaurus might actually have been part frill-necked lizard(In Jurassic Park). Since Dr. Wu said that they used common day animals to fill in the missing genes of the animals. They might have used the frill-necked lizard as a filler. As well as the spitting cobra for the venom. A REAL Dilophosaurus actually had a small crest, with no frills or venomous spit. Anyway, just a small explanation. Have a nice day :)

Lately I've been really stressing about what I want to do with my life. I've always wanted to be a paleontologist until recently when I realized that I couldn't do all the schooling and work that was needed to fulfill that dream, so I instead decided that I would be some type of artist. I was really bummed about not being a paleontologist but then I watched this video and discovered paleontological scientific illustration which I think I'll be great at. So thank you so much for exposing me to this field that I've never even thought of before.

How the heck did this evolve? Are the muscles for this new muscles, re-purposed muscles (EG: like how our gluteus minimus and gluteus medius used to be walking muscles and are now balancing muscles), or are they part of existing muscles?
I'd love to learn more about that whole group of lizards. I've spent the last 10 minutes looking into the phylogeny/taxonomy of Frilled Lizards; their subfamily (agamidae) includes thorny devils, bearded dragons, agamas, and the gliding lizards. Then they are in the same suborder as chameleons, anoles, and iguanas. In short, this group has basically all the flashy skin flap structures in the lizard group!
Great work on the art! Do you have any good recommendations for resources for people who want to make things as accurate as possible in their works? I'm not a drawing-artist but I want to make games and I don't want to mislead my audience, even if it's something as relatively minor as the clapper-vs-slapper thing for dinos.
Side Note: Google'd "Chlamid-" to see what that means in the name of these lizards ("Chlamidosaurus").
If I understand this right, I guess the name means "Hooded lizard" or "Shrouded lizard".

Ostriches are basically a callback to old school theropods though, they're essentially birds that gave up on being birds and decided to become typical non-avian dinosaurs again
(Terror birds did this first but ostriches are still the most basic theropods)

I really like your drawings. I used to be good at drawing stuff when I was in general biology because we were allowed to bring our drawings in for the lab practical. I spent all my time in our labs drawing stuff. I was pretty good at it but it takes me a long time to draw something.
