FLIGHT CHOPS DISCLAIMER:
I am a "weekend warrior" private pilot, I fly for fun with no intentions of going commercial. I have had my PPL for over 15 years, but still consider each flight a learning experience - I generally take detailed notes after each flight to remind myself what went well or what I could do to improve.... Having the GoPro cameras to record flights like this is invaluable. I find these self analysis videos very helpful in my constant quest to improve, and am happy to share. Feedback is invited; however, please keep it positive.
Love the call sign WTF
You beat me to it
I heard that too. lol I want to be Osama's friend. Money and a sense of humor...
Yup! too funny...
When you put down $9m for a plane you can call it anything you want.
That is TOO Funny and I didn't even notice....... Thanks Jack!
Can we get more videos with Osama? I like that guy
I'm saying that plane he got is dope
Am i a bad person for laughing at these comments
Heck yeah this guy is freaking cool 🤘
Obama did Osama, Osama did the awesome flight vlogs.
indeed .. awsome pilot and person .. luv pilot Osama
Osama is an incredible man. All that testing in such a short time sounded grueling . Close to genius . I’m 50 and simply admire his accomplishments. I’m not a pilot just an enthusiast. Thank you for another great video. May you both always be safe and continue to have the time of your life ..
Thank you Ari. I am not a genius but I really enjoy my hobby and work very hard to do it as professionally as I can.
Osama Arafat I admire you greatly. Your hard work shows through and through. Hard work and dedication towards a great goal is what I want my kids to realize, that’s how we fulfill our dreams and endeavors. Thank you for your response Osama ..
I liked the "Seat belts on!" command. I imagine flying a bunch of friends down to the islands in a jet is difficult. They all think it's fun and games when they board and establishing this is serious business is important.
"SEAT BELTS ON!!" That's a great passenger briefing. JK I love Osama, he's one hell of a pilot.
"Put your belts On!!" excellent job.
@Enigma McC What a captain!
AMEN
4:20 I love it, he turns his head and yells at the pax "Seats belts on"...too funny...
Ralph Freshour reminds me of the Ron White comedy bit
The time you put is 420 that’s pretty sketchy my guy
This is one of those episodes where I keep thinking Steve has the coolest job.
As a refueller , I can honestly say that all the pilots that step off this plane are always smiling !
until line service forgets they have to pull the GPU...
Chops leaving for “work:” “Honey I have so much editing to do that I’m just going to stay at the office for 4 days...have you seen my swimsuit and passport?”
LOL!! I actually cracked up when I read this hahah
😅😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷 🇧🇷🦜🇧🇷🦜🌈🦜🌈🦜🌈🎊🎉🎊🎉🔆🔆🔆🔆
"Look at those mansions down there" Says the guy with a $8m aircraft hahaha. Great video - Osama knows his stuff, great handling of ATC on "Island Time".
$8m aircraft or $8m house, I know my choice
Well with a house
Not going to have 1million a year just to fly 400 hours
If offsetting that doing charter flights well worth it though
ATC down there is absolutely atrocious
Yeah, that's what I was thinking, lol!
Unfortunately most of them are gone after the Hurricane
When I was in ppl training my habit of calling for wind check was quickly broken when my boss who was my final CFI stopped it. He was an old bush pilot from Alaska. He said and I quote, "what difference does it make? Fly the damn airplane not the wind. The airplane will tell you what it needs. Just fly the airplane." He was right. It doesn't matter what the wind is at the tower or wherever the instrument is, just fly the airplane. Rule number 1 in piloting. Fly the airplane. It saved my life when I had a complete engine failure on downwind departure upon throttling back from takeoff power. His training got what was a student back on the ground safely, no damage.
I agree 100%. The wind is the wind. If it's too much you'll know and go around.
Top video once again! Impressive airplane, and Osama is a true Aviation gentleman. You two form a great team!
That means a lot coming from you my friend!
It was only osamar flying all the time, I never saw or heard flight chops doing much...??!
@@markchadwick2286 He doesn't have a type rating in the Phenom.
Holy crap! Flight level 450!!!
Wow. I looked up the word dedication in the dictionary and it showed a picture of Osama.
Thank you. I worked really hard and was handsomely rewarded. It was the best year of my life.
@@osamaarafat and thank you for being such an inspiration, not just for flight enthusiasts but for hard working individuals everywhere!
Osama Arafat
Hey Osama I have a question -
When your indicated air speed says 160 But True Air Speed is 344.
How does that work ?
@@stenny1970 indicated airspeed is the measured airspeed, but as you increase your altitude the air pressure is decreased, that results in a lower indicated airspeed, even though your speed over the ground might still be the same. The true airspeed is basically corrected for altitude, air density and temperature.
Both figures are necessary. The indicated airspeed will allow you to know if you are close to your stall speed, etc. And true airspeed is good for navigational purposes.
The air is really thin up there so the indicated airspeed sensed by the pitot tube is not your true airspeed. The Air Data Computer calculates the True Air Speed based on the altitude and temperature.
The Phenom 300 is my favorite small business or personal use jet.
him speaking about the type rating was seriously eye opening. that bit alone was GOLD. the rest of the video was just extra goodness
This video and the sequel are probably two of the best showing the Garmin, not to mention Osama’s very detailed and patient explanations. You are very lucky to have him as a mentor.
Patrick
Albuquerque
One heck of a plane!
Congratulations Osama!
Perhaps more astounding is the work you have completed this year!
I have no idea how you stay ahead of an aircraft like the Phenom 300!!?? Skills way (WAY!) out of my league!
Well done!
Wait, his callsign is Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, that's awesome.
the other plane in that fleet is Lima Oscar Lima
@@grimreaper3526 LOL WTF

Probably because it's registered in Canada. wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/saf-sec-sur/2/ccarcs-riacc/ADet.aspx?id=529345&rfr=RchSimp.aspx
Wait wtf?
Wow, this is what I dream about, it's general aviation in its truest form. Sharing your passion with pilots and non-pilots alike. Think of how much GA has improved this gentleman's life and those around him. Well done, keep up the good work and fly safe.
Thank you. I appreciate you passion and appreciation of GA.
Thank you for sharing your passion with us. I'm a PPL w/IR in medical school, so it will be a while until I seriously get back into aviation. Videos like this actually make me study harder and remind me that hard work pays off and delayed gratification is not a bad thing.
I like how you're getting into jets, but even small jets like the Phenom. I know you prefer the more vintage props and things like that but it's nice that you have both aspects of the uber-modern with digital displays and troubleshooting issues with computers, and other videos are the old nitty-gritty, hands-on-engine-parts. I hope you get to made more videos with this guy and the plane. Fascinating stuff and I like your background info.
I've been a long time flight chops fanatic. Its good to see continuous content! Youre adventures throughout the aviation world are what keeps me on my goal of becoming a pilot! Look forward to seeing more!
Nice video, love being told to expedite exiting on a very specific taxi way when you're unfamiliar with the airport! Always has you scrambling to get that taxi chart up!
I read somewhere that Osama put on hold his successful career as a Tech mogul to fly charter in the Phenom 300. If that's not passion i don't know what is. And Steve, get that IFR rating!
Did not put my career on hold. Just taking a break from tech and enjoying flying.
@@osamaarafat respect. Love it.
The legend himself
The Phenom: for when the Ferrari’s are a bit too staid.
Osama Arafat Mr Arafat, I am in awe of how you’ve done this! I’m still in the process of starting initial flight training. I know the only way to do it, is to just do it... and every time I see your videos, it inspires me to stop procrastinating (something I am actually NOT known for). Thank you for sharing your experiences with FlightChops! 👍🏻
Good to see a followup to the first video where we first met the Phenom and Osama. He must have flown that aircraft a few times since in order to fly it single pilot. Wow, being a driver on a hot ride.
It's interesting the changes when you get in different parts of the world. ATC in Toronto was right on top of everything compared to Nassau ATC just basically saying "well boys land anywhere" lol
I love how the pilot just gets his flying and communication done. What a pro!
HE IS ALL BUSINESS makes it look easy .. gives great confidence to the passengers and co-pilot
I spent about 6 years flying Learjets (25's and 35's), and made many trips to the Bahamas. The Lear 25 was most comfortable at FL410, FL430, and FL450. I am retired now, and wish I had the cashflow to fly something like this. I really envy you! Really enjoyed your video. Thanks!
Man, if I had the funds to charter Osama to fly myself and my family to somewhere tropical, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Just remember "PUT YOUR SEATBELT ON" 😆
Man i love your buddy Osama.. so cool to see someone so passionate about flight and motivated in his job
That was absolutely incredible.. What an amazing pilot Osama is! I have a whole new respect for jet pilots. The quick radio talk is beyond impressive. Sick copilot skills too FC! This was A+ content. +1 :)
A very engaging episode Steve (and Osama). I felt my own adrenaline surging as your workload and tempo picked-up during departure/arrival. And that ATC in the Bahamas!
Impressive progression into a jet. Osama is the consummate professional up there. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely wonderful. I fly out of Pearson with one of "the carriers" and this is really refreshing to see a different point of view. Osama is doing what most airline pilots wish they could - flying for leisure. Outside the airline world he is tops. Interesting to see how the Phenom is geared towards single pilot operation but it really would be a lot safer with two pilots, one flying and the other handling all the pnf duties - radios, checklists, programming etc. Awesome!
Of course it's safer with two pilots. That's why Flightchops was in the right seat. While not rated, he did run the checklists for me and followed along the flight to make sure I didn't make any mistakes. I always try to have a pilot in the right seat even if he/she is not rated on the aircraft.
Really liked the ride, more Phenom IFR please. Missed you at Reno, but was only there for one day. I worked for Sanders for 5 years.
The man is professional. awesome work Sir. I m taking notes roo.
You and Osama work well together as passionate aviators.
Out-frikken-standing! So much respect for Osama's abilities and professionalism. Another great "short-series" Steve. Keep up the great work Bud.
What a Friend and Extremely Knowledgeable Pilot one of the best teachers you can have Cherish Your Friendship
We have few companies to be proud of in Brazil. Embraer is one of them.
There's a moment, as Osama brings the nose up, where Steve is like "This ain't right." You see it on his face just before he does the check left and right. It must feel... very unusual.
I really liked your editing between preparing for takeoff and cutting back the the preflight briefing. Really illustrated the importance of the prep as part of the flight.
Such a beautiful plane and the pilot/owner is a really nice guy too. I'm amazed how the plane can be flown single pilot, looks like everything can be called up through the displays.
I love flying with Osama.. he explains what I need to learn... great video also.. romeo bravo charlie out
I watch this video every few months and everytime I do its like i'm watching it for the first time. Its that good.
First off....congrats Osama on your ratings. Have been following back on your channel for a while. Hope to see more vids in the future. I started flying with my Dad at the age of 8. At 17 did my PPL in one of our 4 planes Dad owned over the years. It was done in the Aeronca Champ. Aviation is a passion that never ends!
I admire Osama's dedication and professionalism. That's a serious aircraft and he knows it. I would be comfortable as one of his passengers. Thanks for sharing a great video!
Love seeing these flights with Osama. Dream plane, dream trips. Fantastic.
OSAMA YOU ARE THE MAN! MAKE IT LOOK SO EASY WHILE TEACHING A LESSON!
Excellent editing. Love how you put the Approach view out the fwd window on the top half and the instrument panel in the lower half of the screen. I would love to see more of the instrument panel than what's in the video. It's great as it stands. Keep up the great work. Fully enjoyed the whole video.
What an amazing friend you have in Osama and what great experiences you share with us. Thank you for the awesome video.
These videos are my driving force to finish my private!
Go for it Nick! I fly a Piper Warrior, not a jet like Osama -- but few things I enjoy more. You won't regret it
...and me getting into IFR!
Yes sir indeed😎
Phenomenal flight!
Thank you so much for your hard work. It is really awesome to view the growth of both you and Osama ..
I've felt the Phenom 300 is interesting because of all of its advanced features and now it has even more appeal given Osama's enthusiatic endorsement. Great vid.
wife:"how are you darling?"
pilot:"im ok, whiskey tango fox"
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😅
Lmao

Love the videos with Osama. He’s a true professional.
Awesome, awesome video. I never got to fly a jet durn my flying days and no where near 45,000 feet. But spent a lot of time in busy traffic and fast pace ATC in the NYC area. Really enjoyed the video. It took me back in time to a fun period in my life.
Very nice video! thank you for sharing!
Whiskey Tango Fox!
Has a ring to it right ? ;)
Been watching your videos for a couple months now. Never thought I'd begin to understand the comm traffic in these videos. Understood almost everything that was being said over the radio in this video.
That looked super smooth running through those clouds! Osama seems really cool too!
This is how RUclips channel should be...... you live the experience like you’re their ..... great work guys
You’ve got me hooked.. Osama is an awesome pilot! Love the technology.. I just retired from DoD aircraft maintenance APG.
Phenom 300 really is an awesome aircraft. Hope to fly it one day.
All the information he went through during preflight was awesome. Great video.
I appreciate you putting together this video together. I doubt I will ever be in a Phenom but I absolutely love these planes.
Two thing I noted:
1. 45,000ft is 5000ft from needing a pressure/space suit
2. you timed the music to beat the drums the moment the rubber chirped the runway. Very nice.
I do like the registration. Makes it easy to remember! My cousins is C-FKTR. That one is easy to remember also, for some reason.
I was very interested to see Osama as PIC on his new Phenom 300. What an outstanding individual and gentleman! He takes flying to another level. It feels like I am watching a Commercial Airline Pilot when I see him flying. I guess the TBM850 is gone but I love his replacement! Hope everyone had a great time in the Bahamas!
Very impressed. The editing was excellent. I loved how you matcheed the briefing with the flight
Great video!, I've never seen anything like this before.
Man I'd like to be that guy. He has all the fun! I'm sure he worked both smarter and harder than most to get there. I earned my private pilots license and instrument rating in just six weeks, so I know what it's like to plan, study, fly for 12 hours a day and adjust the schedule as required in order to make it happen. Excellent work, Osama! Be safe.
Great job Justin. That's the way to do it.
Tons of respect for Osama! This guy is obviously skilled, he's very professional, he's cool and kind and has achieved a lot. I look up to him.
This was again an awesome video, and Osama is such an inspiration for all of us with his dedication and professionalism! Now only a PPL, but definitely want to get to his level one day. Cheers
Great video. Love seeing the phenom. Was this the same phenom you flew a few months ago with another one of your friends?
Great vid as always. Gotta get my flight chops fix.
I know nothing about flying and just happened to stumble on these videos and I'm totally hooked . Yep, more videos of this Osama dude - he's cool.
Sooooooo jealous! Amazing plane with an amazing pilot! Thanks for sharing.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!?? I love it! Is that a lucky tail # or what!? Lol
Wow. Great video. I wish I could have an instructor and mentor like Osama!!!
Just picked this episode up, your camera work & editing is the best. Much appreciated.
Awesome! Osama is some guy, doing all that work to fly the Phenom! Great video as always Steve!
watching this was like a breath of fresh air
That AirCanada Crew realizing they’re in a Max and reconsidering their life choices😂
Wow what a fabulous video! Just watched it down here in Middle Earth.
Osama is superb. I've seen him on a couple of videos and he is so knowledgeable!
And an absolutely lovely fellow so willing to pass it on.
I learn so much from watching you guys fly together.
Best private jets in the world! Embraer. And the best pilot! ;)
YES! Another Osama video. That guy is a champ
Thanks to both of you and THIS is the big league :-) I was feeling the excitement just watching the video!
Osama is on top of his game. Well prepared and very good to brief you of what is going to happen and what is happening. Well done Osama!
please do more with osama! i really like him!
Great video as always Steve. The part about the 15deg pitch made me giggle- on the Q400 your pitch is close to 20deg on takeoff, the thing is severely overpowered, however I have to sit in the soup at FL250. The Phenom looks like an awesome plane though.
FC & Osama, thank you for sharing your flight experience. I am hoping to experience this someday as well.
Big fan of flight chops and osama... great to see you guys fly and land in my hometown Nassau, Bahamas....hope to meet you guys in the near future
I'd fly Osama airlines, he's a highly competent pilot and aircraft commander. However I doubt I'm in the correct financial stratum. Good to see the "jet-set" stuff but I particularly enjoy the VFR/IFR or bush flying on this channel. In any event, it's all really well done and presented.
Nice....Very nice. Enjoyed this "trip" (episode) a lot. Embraer's next stage for the Phenom 300E may be Fly-by-Wire?
great insight Chops. Good job Osama, nice plane!
I love the island to music that kicks in soon as you guys land.
Shoutout From the Bahamas! Thanks for the visit. Love the vids and keep up the good work. Also did i mention i live where you vacation XD
Enrique Wells I will be in Nassau in a few weeks. Been to the Bahamas many times.. everyone should go. ✈️🙌
