//FAQs??
-How many squares do I need for a baby blanket?
This can vary, it really can be however big or small you like, but i generally do 4x4 or 5x5.
This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
-How many chains shall I do for a *single/double/etc' blanket?
Again, this can vary. I would suggest that you do your chain and lay it down agains the bed you are wanting it for. It should be the same width. You should then ad a few more to make it a little wider.
This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
-How much yarn do I need?
Unfortunately, I will be able to answer individuals questions about how much yarn you would used do to multiple factors affecting it. Such as, your tension, the size of hook and the yarn being used.

I am a Full Time content creator for my Blog and RUclips.
I have seen many videos over the past couple of days on the invisible slip stitch. Your video is the absolute best demonstration and verbal instruction out there. Thank you for helping to make my finished product look its best.
Glad it was helpful :)
This is a very cool tip! That diagonal seam can look so unsightly. Thanks for sharing!
You're very welcome :)
😊
Whenever I'm stuck with a piece and I don't know what I'm doing wrong I know that Bella Coco will always have a video to explain it SLOOOOWWWWLY and zoomed in so I can know what i need to do to fix it 🙏🏻💕 so grateful for it!
I'm so glad that they have been of help to you :)
@@bellacococrochet your video quality and setup and the way you explain things for beginners are the best on RUclips and I've felt that way for 5 years. I would have given up on so many projects had I not had your channel to teach me/ help me fix them 😅
Thank you! I honestly don't know what I would do without your channel. You explain everything so clearly! 🧶
You are very welcome :)
Just what I was needing! Thank you sooo much for this tutorial! I was trying and trying to figure out what I was doing wrong and you just gave me the BEST solution. YAY!!!

Ooou great ....had no idea you can do it like this ....amazing ....thank you ...you are the best teacher🥰🥰🥰🥰
You’re very welcome 😊
Thank you for taking the time to show us this, and especially for the reminders throughout your videos of other terms (UK/US). I like listening to you speak, your accent is delightful . Your video on the virus shawl was the only one that got me through the pattern.
You're very welcome :)
I'm going to try amigurami soon and this tip will help me a lot. Thank you do much for sharing it. Your explanations are always so detailed and thorough. 💖
You're very welcome :)
That looks simple to do and I will be trying this very soon as I don’t get a straight seam whilst working continue rows. Made a baby booty and it is on a total wonky state. Thank you xx
You're very welcome :)
What mad genius is this! Thank you!
You're very welcome :)
Excellent demonstration! Thank you SOOO much!

Thank you so much for sharing this great tip!
You're very welcome :)
Thank you ! When I start to crochet again in about August to September this will be really handy x
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you, this is so helpful, does it work with treble stitch too?
I have learnt from so many of your clear and easy to follow tutorials. I now teach 1-1 beginner and have so much pleasure doing so and big thanks to you ❤
This technique is amazing, makes such a neat and seamless join. If I were changing colours for e.g. how would I incorporate that too? My stripes never seem to line up. I appreciate your help, thank you x
I would change your colour when you are making the very last stitch of the row so that the new colour is the one you are pulling through and making a loop with - you shouldn't see the colour change until the next round in this way 😊
@@bellacococrochet Thank you x
love it thanks!!!
You're welcome :)
Absolutely Brill as always
Thank you :)
Thank you for this. I just crocheted a beach bag and unfortunately I have a very visible join. I will add some embellishments to cover the unsightly seam however, I’m very glad I found this technique for the next bag I make.
You are very welcome :)
Very cool tip. I will definitely try it. Thanks
You are very welcome :)
Ooh yay, another cool tip! Thanks a lot!
You're very welcome :)
GREAT tip!!! Thank you!!💕💕
You're welcome :)
Thanks for this - no more diagonal seams when doing a round. Would this work for granny squares where you finish the round with a slip stitch?
Ooo, i hadn't seen that before! Many thanks.
You're welcome :)
I love this idea
Thank you :)
That’s a great tip. Thank you for sharing.
You're very welcome :)
This is amazing thank you Sarah Jayne😃🤗😊👌
Thank you :)
Brilliant tip! I've been crocheting for years and this slippage of stitches annoys me so much, thank you!
You're very welcome :)
Thank you! Great tip!

THANK YOU! I LOVE IT!
You're very welcome :)
I was crocheting a doll and there was just a line going down the head. This is so helpful! Thank you!
You are very welcome :)
I love your videos! I have learned so much from watching you 💕
Thank you :)
I love your video, so well explained. But I have a question? What if I have to change colour between one round to the next?
Thank you! 😊 To change colour you can pull through the new yarn as you’re making the final part of your last stitch before the colour change, and either cut the yarn not in use or carry it along ready to pick back up again
Thank you very much, this tip is amazing 👍🌹
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you so much 😊you are the best.....
You're very welcome :)
Thank you for the tip. I hope I can remember to use it.
You're very welcome :)
It's something I tried with work in the round, but for reasons to do with my disability doesn't work for me. I join with a double crochet. It works for me.. 😳😊 I am loving these tips however, and you always explain really clearly.
Perfect! Just in time to make some socks
thankyou so much for this video it is very helpful i love you so much thankyou!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're very welcome :)
Do you find this gives you a reverse diagonal seam (especially on the wrong side)? I seem to be able to pick up most crochet stitches without issues, but the invisible slip stitch is apparently my nemesis 😭
This will leave a seam on the inside of the work which is why it's great for amigurumi projects. It is definitely a tricky one to pick up as you are essentially working the stitch back to front, but keep practising and you will get there 😊
Great idea.
Thank you :)
thank u!! super helpful :)
You're welcome :)
THANK U SO MUCH 💖💖💖
You're welcome 😊
Ty I love it🥰🥰
So helpful. I hate that diagonal line at the back of hats. Thank you!
You are very welcome :)
Very useful technic 👍
Thank you :)
Super útil!!Thanks!!!❤
You're welcome :)
thank you!!
You're welcome :)
Such a great tip! Does this technique work for other stitches like hdc or dc (US terms)? Would you just need to also chain after the invisible join?
Thank you 😊 This technique works best for projects done in the round such as amigurumi, which normally use single crochet stitches. You could try using it with other stitches however, you would just need to pull your loop up slightly higher when working your first stitch after the join. There’s no need to chain as you are pulling up the loop instead.
Does this technique also work for flat rounds such as top of bucket hats? Thanks! x
You should be able to use this technique with any project worked in the round 😊
@@bellacococrochet thank you soo much! x
Do you have a video showing how to do this at the end? When you're ready to cut the yarn to change colors and/or bind off the work?
Once you’re ready to bind off you can snip the end of your yarn, leaving a long tail, and sew in your end securely as you normally would. To change colours I would recommend pulling through the new colour when making the final part of the last stitch with the old colour 😊
Could you do this for other sts in the round such as htr or tr??? That would normally require 2 chains or more at the beginning.
Yes you can use this method for other stitches - instead of chaining 2 you can try pulling the single loop up slightly and then working your stitch 😊
@@bellacococrochet thank you thats exactly what I did in the end love this technique just having fun applying it to patterns using the traditional method and remembering that Ive done it differently 😂🤦🏼♀️.
Hi. At which point would you change colour if you wanted to?
I would pull through the new colour when making the final part of the invisible slip stitch 🙂
Thanks for the tip! What is that gorgeous nail polish you have on? Do they sell it in the US?!?
You are welcome and I really don't know about the nail polish :)
Hi Sarah Jayne.
What do you do if the pattern calls for a turn.
My current pattern is 84sc,Sl St,CH1 Turn.
With this fantastic seam you have given is would you 84sc don't join etc, turn the proceed to do the invisible stitch (hope this makes sense). Thanks Kelly xx
This method of slip stitching is for crochet worked in the round so that you don't get a diagonal seam - if your pattern has a turn I would slip stitch as normal 😊
Great video! I’m working on a pattern which calls to end the round by doing a slip stitch, ch 2, then turn my work to begin the next round. With the invisible stitch, do I turn my work?
Thank you! The invisible slip stitch is more for patterns worked in the round like amigurumi, which usually end up with a diagonal seam up the side. For working flat (i.e. in rows with turning chains at the end) you can slip stitch as normal 😊
@@bellacococrochet Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this. But what do you do if you need to chain 1 after the slip stitch? Will still look seamless?
If you pull up the loop on your hook slightly as shown in the video you can skip doing a chain one as you will be at the right height already 😊
❤
Can this be done when working in the back loop only?
Yes you should be able to use this same technique when working in the back loop only 😊
Thank you for this! Can I do a chain 1 after I slip stitched?
You can do although if you are pulling the loop up you may find you don't need to 😊
Um, I have a question, how would you do the invisible slip stich when trying to do a color change?
To change colour I would pull through the new yarn at the same time as pulling through the old one. You can then drop the old yarn and continue working with the new colour 😊
Does this work for solid granny squares?
I have a tutorial that shows you how to work a seamless solid granny square here: ruclips.net/video/uXGoo1-W0tY/видео.html It's a different technique to the one shown here 😊
Assuming you could also do this with double crochet.
This works best when used on projects worked in the round which are normally done in single crochet, but will still work well with double crochets 😊
If we crocher with single crochet, this way works?
Yes; I'm using UK terms so I refer to this stitch as a double crochet, but the stitch in the tutorial is also known as a US single crochet 😊
Do you not chain 2 every row if you do this?
Instead of beginning the round with a chain, you just need to pull up your loop to the correct height and go straight into making your first stitch 😊
How do you and tie off doing it this way?
You can snip off the end of your yarn and pull it through before sewing in the end as you would normally 😊 I have a tutorial showing how to sew in ends here: ruclips.net/video/6qXEcQj_0L0/видео.html
can you use this same technique when the beginning stitch is a V stitch (dc ch2 dc) in same stitch
This technique is for stitches worked in the round, so as long as your work isn't crocheted flat then you should be able to use it 😊
@@bellacococrochet Thank you so much. It is worked in the round. Trying to make a crocheted Raglan top with the seams on the side versus in the back. A chain 3, to me, takes away from the flow of the pattern. I appreciate your reply and your efforts. Be safe & healthy
@@bellacococrochet Cool Beans p thank you
Will this also work when doing double crochets (US)?
This works best when used on projects worked in the round which are normally done in single crochet, but I think it would still be ok to use for double crochets 😊
Who is the giveaway winner????
Why don't you hold the hook above the yarn tail as you come through from the back ? I notice you go above it and then rotate so hook is then in front , whereas if the yarn tail is under the hook as you come front the back the hook is already in front and there is no yarn bump ?
It works best for me holding the hook in this way but if you prefer you can hold the hook above the yarn 😊
Do all of your crochet hooks look just like the one you use with the different color on the handle if so where can I purchase them thank you
These hooks come in the subscription boxes and cannot be purchased separately :)
Bella Coco thank you how many do you get in the subscription boxes
Bella Coco where can I purchase the subscription box
How come you don't chain 1 after you slip stitch?
When I do it, I somehow lose 1 stitch... What can be the reason?
Are you making sure to insert your hook into the correct stitch when making the join? You can also find the written instructions over on my blog here: bellacococrochet.com/invisible-slip-stitch/ which you may want to double check 😊
Why does the back look crooked?
This tip is for crochet worked in the round; as we are working in a big spiral the stitches can look as though they are on a diagonal slant, as opposed to stacked neatly on top of each other 😊
This did not work for me. Seam was still visible
I'm sorry to hear you didn't get on with this; sometimes going down a hook size for the join can help 🙂
@@bellacococrochet I found another way to do it for double crochet and it was a little better. But I have yet to find any "invisible" seam that actually looked invisible. No hate to you though! Maybe it works for other people a bit better.
😇👌👍🙏
