ugh, I can't wait for this to get to me. so excited. already have a few little upgrades waiting for it. Great video as always and thank you for such a rock solid review. PS - I plan to take this to the track with my rc10b6. :D
Thanks for this in depth review of the MT10. I have to admit I bought one today mainly from watching it preform and it just looks so cool. I love my 3s Granite and this rc should preform similar. I think Team Associated went all out to make something that preforms well at a low price. Astatically the tires, front bumper and body are my favorite part of the car. Oh yes and the net... 👍👍
Thank you, your format and information is the best I have seen so far. All this info is what allows us to make good purchasing decisions. I am new to this so your knowledge is greatly appreciated. i have Chinese stuff now and am looking for good quality rc. Also 2s for what I am doing is fine, thx for saying that.
@Pawel Wolski Much appreciated. Love reading when my videos have helped in anyway. Trucks like this are great when you are first getting into hobby grade RC's. Would love to hear what you end up going with. Thank you again for your support.
@@ReadySetRC Thx for the reply. I am thinking of the new Big Rock, seems like the new radio is ok and some improvements including bit wider track. I have 'small" 1/10 sct, it runs like stink 2s, but the small wheels and low ground clearance is an issue for my park playground. I was thinking Senton (love the sct visuals) but now Big Rock is in number 1 spot. Since you are taking your time could you think of short must have upgrades/replacement parts list. I want to order a "kit" (will have to ship it from states to Indonesia) so I can have some spare items ready. I was thinking extra spur gear, pinion (stock or go bit smaller, not big on right out speed), shock oil (what weight?), diff oil (what weight?). Not really jumping and for sure not to the moon so stock shocks should be ok, the new orings maybe will not leak. Bowing shock caps should not be a problem for my baby driving, or is it. Last I am thinking just 2s, enough speed and should make all the drive train last longer or be a man and go 3s? Again thx for taking your time to reply, really like your way of presenting honest, useful info...no babies, moon shots and silly stuff. From warm and sunny Indonesia.
@@pawelwolski1316 The Big Rock is an excellent choice. I own the v3? Can't keep up with the versions but it's the blue one😂 I did a lot of mods to mine but from what I hear the latest did all of those upgrades. Never replaced them and it ran fine all the way through when I sold it. You are going to love that truck. One of the best 3S trucks on the market.
@@ReadySetRC ok thank you. just ran my HSP SCT, bearing came apart, 3rd run on the pavement. I am done with this chinese stuff, there might be some ok stuff, but $400 gets u Arrma!
Yeah I'd say the Rival is more compared to a Proline Pro MT and the Tekno MT410. The price is killer for how much RC you get. The granite lacks adjustments and a center diff. Team Associated just came out with some hop ups for the Rival.
@KodeKraft RC I know it's all opinion but have you seen the Pro MT 4x4 and the Tekno MT410 all together? This is a nice truck but those would be major upgrades to the Rival MT10. I've owned all three and I wouldn't even compare the Pro-line and the Tekno to each other. I know a lot of guys do because of the offerings and release timing but Tekno feels to me to be in the 1/8 stunt MT class. The Proline more on that larger 1/10 class (maybe Traxxas Maxx). Even though center diff is a sweet addition people will always compare this to the brushless Granite because of it's size, pricing and since it was designed to bash.
@@ReadySetRC Yes. We race all of them at my local track in the monster truck class. Sometimes we see Granites but, they can't keep up. The cool thing about the Rival is it has race DNA. That comes from the Helion Avenge since Helion was started by the Losi family.
@@SnarkyRC Totally agree, the Granite can't hang as a racer not even close. Rival was one of the best driving 1/10 MT's I've ever driven. So much control.
Glad you brought that one back for a finally. Good deal. Watching now because while I don't have one, I always wanted to see it (compared to) next to a Granite. Or at least to consider it compared to the Granite I own with stock Arrma electrics still in.
Well I'll disagree with the Motor not getting HOT on 3s. Mine gets hot then cuts out so that it don't burn up. Then just yesterday I had a fresh 3s battery in it and it started cutting out within 10 minutes of driving it. I dont know if it's cuz I changed the servo to a 35kg and it's using more power now or what but the esc wasn't HOT it was just the Motor
@VapnCase I could see that. All of my runs was during the winter months and early spring. I ended up selling mine shortly after this video. Have you tried throwing a fan on and gearing down for 3S?
@Daryl Lackey I no longer own the truck but it looks like that is still the case. The arms from RPM seem to be the biggest support to date. But other than the arms on mine I had no breaks and it was rumored TA changed the plastics on the arms from the first releases.
I'm old school. To me, a monster truck is a Kyosho USA-1, Big Brute, Tamiya Clod Buster, Blackfoot, etc. These new monster trucks by these "pop up companies" look like shit, however, there is something about this one. Looks cool, has some nice F/R LEDs.....I'd buy it. The Helion version of this truck looks like crap.
@Golden Manuever I feel you. Took me a while to get in the MT side of the hobby. I started more on the on-road side and never got into the MT's because of the looks. But when I saw what these trucks can do, changed my mind. I think what hurts this truck is the arms hopefully TA has addressed that on the most recent releases. This is a great little basher.
@@ReadySetRC How do you know what "release" you have? I'm looking to get one and would prefer to get a 2nd edition _(if that's a thing)_ after the initial bugs are worked out.
Hello, I'm RC player from China. I'm looking at a few models right now: arrma granite V3, teamssociated mt10 and arrma outcast 4S. I prefer arrma's car, but after watching your video, I think mt10 is also very good. I'd like to hear your suggestion. Is it better to choose granite V3 or mt10? Is outcast 4S coming out with a new model (V5)? Thank you very much. --By Google translation
@王翊轩 I wish I could say I've driven the Granite before but I have not. The Outcast 4s is a wide Granite and I love that truck. For me I would choose that over the Granite. This little truck is amazing but I would still choose the Outcast or Granite over it as a basher. This truck is great if you like to be able to tune your RC's and really dial them in but if you just want to get out there and bash the Arrma's are going to be the way to go. As for the Outcast 4s V2, I have not seen anything yet. Hopefully for the summer time.
I wouldn't buy it again after owning it for 2 month.. 3 servos one front arm tires fall off all the time so I doubled the nuts. Servo arm stripped. It might be normal I don't know it is our first and only rc. But I'm at the point where I'm expecting something to break everytime I use it. I now went with a different servo from Amazon it fit works well so far.
Sorry to hear about the problems your having but those seem to be minor issues. If this is your first car its understandable but depending on how you drive everything will break. There's certain tricks you'll learn with time that will help with things keeping together longer. I suggest looking up end point adjustments to help with servos 3 dying in 2 months is a lot. Also loctite on the wheel nuts helps. Any plastic servo arms will strip. Just trying to help out with things I've picked up over the years. The main thing I've noticed with people new to the hobby is they don't think their rcs should break. If you go into it with that mindset you'll always be dissapointed.
I had the same issue happened, I replied to your comment on the other video he posted about this truck. My servo horn also stripped because the servo saver got loose and still gets loose from time to time . My original servo also crapped out, but luckily TA replaced it and works great.if your end points are adjusted to high, it can cause those issues, check your remote on the bottom left knob, should be at the middle or slightly to the right and check to make sure there is enough clearance with any of the suspension arms.
I understand things will break when I bought the truck I also ordered extra parts and I used them really quick although that I wouldn't blame it on the truck as much. On the other hand their servo kept giving out I normally keep it at 75% (the little knob) The tires came unglued yesterday but I was having a blast I'm getting the hang of it lol.. going to fast..
I’m looking for upgraded tyres and wheels feel these are to soft and they balloon to much can anyone indicate me in the right direction in getting a different set please Thankyou
