Those RPM arms really do their job well. The only time I had one break (a Typhon arm on my Granite) was when I clotheslined a metal stop sign pole. The sign was telling me what to do, so I had to teach it a lesson 😂
Yo Evan! I appreciate you and your family. These videos are awesome! I really love that you bash to the extreme to show us just how durable these trucks are. Thank you so much!!
I have not ever changed the fluids that I can recall. I like the way it handled, but if I did the center and forgot, or if I were to put fluid in the center, I would probably use 300,000-500,000 wt.
Great video as usual… I love my mt10, I have it running on 3s all the time and most of my running is racing so I’ve got fastrax eagles on there with a 16t gear and it’s clocking a healthy 50mph on the gps… best budget truck ever! 🏆😊
Do you like the balance between speed and power with the 16t gear? I'm running a 3s on my mt10 as well and looking to get just a little bit more top speed out of it, so thinking about a little gear swap. Absolutely the best budget truck ever! Only upgrades I've done is swapping out the stock steering servo for a JX Ecoboost and then replacing the stock transmitter/receiver with a Dumbo X6. Amazing response, power, speed, and most importantly durability.
I do like it actually. If I had to choose, with 2s, I wish it was a bit faster and I think it has a little power to spare, but overall I’m super happy with it as well!

Me too! I have a few different videos planned with this truck. Seriously fun! I appreciate that! But also this truck makes it look easy. It’s extremely controllable! The braking thing definitely added difficulty though lol!
Thanks for the battery recommendation and the review. Just picked one up and waiting for it to come in. Had an RC18T belt driven, but they no longer make parts for it :( so this will be my upgrade replacement for it. I think the XT60 or deans connector is fine for this setup since the esc is capped at 60 amps continuous. Will be replacing the radio with my FlySky digital 2.4. Also so where the on/off switch was relocated in front of the servo to protect it from breaking. Probably need to move to XT90 connectors if you ever upgrade the esc.
Appreciate the in-depth review, great video as always 😁, a shame you had esc issues... its just a rebranded hobbywing 10bl60, but im sure you have plans for this rc, i eventually want one myself.
Man, that's a funny, nicely edited video. Good info and driving to really see how it performs, while also injecting it with some humor edits, equals good, entertaining content.
I like to see the reality of your experience with this truck. Some times there just half bad electric parts. I could tell you had some disappointment with the first review, as this truck has many people saying its the best basher out there. Yet you (and myself) seem to have more fun with a cheap RC juice up till it blows up. My mini Revo vlx kinda took the fun out of RC because it was my first perfect out of the box rc. funny how that happens. Basement looks fantastic.
Glad you liked it! Ya I did think it would be a bit faster on 2s. 26mph I believe. Definitely was pleased with it on 3s until it lost power and went back down to 2s speeds lol. The car itself is definitely strong, but the electronics I believe are too low-rated. If that esc needs to be replaced I’ll find a better system to install. Yes I definitely love my Kraton and this mt10, but upgrading the cheapos is awesome!! I have plans for a few of mine!! Lol
Love this truck. Occasionally mine will make abuzzing sound from around the pinion gear/center diff (i think) but when i get it apart i don't see anything and it quits making the noise. Have any ideas?
I love it too!! Not really any idea on the sound. I definitely get a few ghost sounds on some cars occasionally. They’re tough to find and it could be nothing lol. Motor mount bent? Dirty center diff bearings? So many possibilities lol
Love your channel, and the music, been watching it for a while thinking I was subscribed but I wasn’t, so I subscribed and hit the bell. I live in Louisville near Oxmoor and the Mall and was trying to figure out what school you were at filming this video, thought it was Westport Middle but it isn’t. I’ll probably run into you someday!
Awesome! Much appreciated! Ya we live in the south end, it’s Kenmore Elementary. But we are about to move so likely won’t be in the south end anymore. Our house is sold but we don’t have a new one yet! 🤣🤣. I’m sure we will run into each other!
I would try yo put a dumbo on it before changing ESC. btw is that doesn’t work, I believe that jumping those two wires in the switch, you mess up with the calibration of the ESC… love this car!! how I wish to find it here in Spain !!
I may try that. It’s weird that it would have worked normally first, then act up once the battery flew out. I have a few things to try 😀. I wish you could get it too!
Did you ever solve the auto braking and reduced power problems? are you using the remote it came with? Saw many say the remotes are not good at all and recommend to swap them completely with a different esc and remote combo.
The remote is very bad. I noticed I had to play with the trim all the time to make the transmitter send a neutral throttle signal when not touching the throttle lever. Autobraking, no reverse, all that nasty stuff! The trouble went away 100% after switching to another radio gear (Flysky GT-5). My MT10 ESC went to low voltage mode on one of my batteries very easily. I think it is very sensitive in regards to trying to not overdischarge the battery. So all in all while the car is awesome, some electric bits are quite... well, bad.
@@DerbyCityRC I went with a Robitronic 60A combo for an upgrade - very cheap and has programmable punch, brake power, lipo cutoff etc. But then I wanted more of them amps and ordered a Hobbywing MAX10 SCT combo with a 3660 motor.. and a bigger pinion. We'll see, pretty sure she'll go like a maniac:D
I think with the hot wired power and having the batt fly out you reset the esc, when I reset my esc with the set button is always goes to fwd brake no reverse and applies a drag brake
Interesting. Yes I was going to do the throttle calibration, which is holding throttle in its 3 main positions and pushing the set button each time. Is that what you would do to reset it?
@@DerbyCityRC no that's just throttle end point and neutral calibration to reset it you turn it on and hold the set button for 3 secs and it should flash let you know it's done if you want it back to the way it was you might have to programme the esc depends on if it reset or glitched out

Have you ever try to fit a steel spur gear on this model from another brand ? At least with custom halls from a drill something like this, i don't know what else to say. The stock spur bear became bold after a few full throttles on 3s lipo. By the way i just fit a differential on my rustler 4x4, fitted with hobbywing max 10sct esc and 4000 kv hobbywing motor and after four 4s lipo batteries and 2 3s lipo batteries in a weekend the diffential works like new. In the other hand the rival mt10 is parked and i don't use it and i want to drive this model so much. I miss driving it and is parked less than 2 meters away from the couch. As inhave understand an rc car with center differential doesn't brake easily after many packs of batteries with hard throttles and not jumps.
I have not tried a metal spur. I have not had any issues with mine yet. Something must have happened. Did your motor mount loosen up and cause the pinion gear to pull away from the spur? Mine has been to hell and back and still works perfectly 😢 (well the drivetrain does anyway lol)
I saw in one of your recent comments that your issues may just have been related to your remote settings. If im just planning to use the stock battery connectors & settings and would like to run on 3s,...would you still recommend that same Zee 3s 80c battery? I also bought the 2s you recommended.
That has been a good battery so far. No issues yet except a cracked plastic case. I’ve been really fond of these ovonics as well. I feel they’re made a bit better: amzn.to/3L4JixJ You would need the battery adapter or replace the connectors. They have one with the red deans plug as well but it’s 50c instead of 80c. Should still work just as well though: amzn.to/3YBg8cu Also, I have two other companies sending me batteries I’ll be testing soon.
Hot wiring skills he hasnt used since his dark past, boosting high end muscle cars across the county line, pursued by Boss Hogg's least competent sherriffs
The issue with servo and binding/random braking makes me think its the esc BEC. Im sure you swapped the esc by now though. Could be tx/rx I guess but doubt it.
Thanks for the info. Actually, all that happened was I must have accidentally turned the throttle knob all the way up while messing with the battery, taking it out of calibration. A simple turn of the knob on the controller was all it took. lol she’s been good ever since. Even working on a comparison video between that and the Arrma granite right now.
@DerbyCityRC Ahh I had assumed you checked the travel when you mentioned the binding thing. Looking forward to your review. Seems like the brushed granite is an awesome deal when you consider the M10 needs a larger motor swapped in too, but whatever is most durable/handles well for least amount of upgrades is winner since motor and esc are easily upgraded on both.
My 2s rub time might be in my review video. I can’t remember for sure but I want to say around 20 minutes. With that 3s battery I believe I remember getting closer to 30 minutes. It felt like quite a while but it was hard to time since I had all this issues. Such an awesome truck!!

Ok, you convinced the crew here at Dragon Grips and Bright Knight Reflective to get a small shop truck… should be here tomorrow! So, with your channel name, is it correct to assume Louisville area?
@@DerbyCityRC yes sir! MT10 is on its way. I’ve got two kiddos with Down Syndrome and the youngest is finally interested and we got him a cheap Walmart truck for his birthday a few weeks ago. He’s already outgrown it so I’ll be looking for something for him now too (maybe the Arrma Granite Voltage). We are out here in the crestwood/Lagrange area.
Nice! Another great truck to learn on is the HBX 16889a Pro. I’ve got several videos on that. It’s smaller, but it’s probably even more durable than this one(because it’s smaller and lighter). Ya we live by Iroquois park, but in the middle of trying to move. I really wanted to move to Lagrange, but we have a contract on a house in shepherdsville just outside of Jefferson with an acre. So as long as ours sells before they get a non-contingent offer, we’ll get it. Might have to change the channel name to “Near Derby City RC” 🤣 Can’t wait til our next in line can work the controls. He’s 3 and hasn’t gotten it yet. Lol Then we still have two more about to turn 1!
@@DerbyCityRC I looked at the HBX (you need to get that Amazon affiliate link in the description) but it’s too small. We have a couple acres we mow out here that we will be running it in and the old wltoys 959 I have can’t do it and I think that’s 1/16 scale too. I have a 124017 I just got too and even that doesn’t like the height I mow at. Good luck escaping the ville, we made it out in May 2020 from j-town and the seminary prior to that. Just couldn’t do the city man!
Thanks I thought I had that link in all the vids, I will check that! I believe the WL 959 is actually 24th scale, but yea I agree that going bigger than 16th is best! 1/12 and larger is the sweet spot. Let me know what else you get. Yes I’m tired of the ville, but at the same time want to be close since my client base and family is here, so being right out side the lines is almost perfect!
Hi there i cant find the link below to see how you fixed the problem could you please reply with the link thank you very much my car is having the same problem
I can't seem to keep the plastic wheel hub covers that have Method on them to stay in. They just thread out and I lose them every time. Anyone else have this issue?
Personally I think you should at least a 40c battery, I run 100c in all my stuff and every vehicle runs cold as ice. Most manufacturers recommend at least 35c
Thy was actually an 80c 3s battery so no problem there. It ended up being the throttle trim on the controller. I must have accidentally turned that knob lol
Do they fall off because the wheel nuts come loose and screw off? If so, a small amount of blue loctite like this on the threads should do the trick. Make sure there isn’t any damage like cracked wheel or worn hexes. amzn.to/3tBLnLd
Ok! Should be at your local hardware or even auto parts store too. When I say small amount. I mean a small drop lol it doesn’t take much, and too much will make them too hard to remove.

@@DerbyCityRC I have a maverick quantum. (You know the "basher" that basically explodes with the slightest impact). Anyway for some random reason one day it started going extremely slow forward, but full speed backwards. Tried different batteries and everything but recalibrating the ESC sorted it. You can usually recalibrate to the transmitter and/or factory reset. I would try both.
Sounds like my Cheetah “basher” lol
Nice! Ya I’ll give that a try!
NEW SUB HERE. THE CONTROL SEEM AWSOME BUT THOSE ISSUEs you’re having right out the box 📦 is bad. IVE BEEN SET ON YHE GRANITE BLX 3S FOR A WHILE AND I THINK THATS THE ONE ILL GET.
Thanks! The controller actually ended up being my own user error lol.
I actually have a video comparing this and the granite 3s BLX if you think it may help you 👍👍
Ok, you convinced the crew here at Dragon Grips and Bright Knight Reflective to get a small shop truck… should be here tomorrow! So, with your channel name, is it correct to assume Louisville area?
Nice! Got an MT10?
Yup, Louisville area!
Might have to change the channel name to “Near Derby City RC” 🤣
Can’t wait til our next in line can work the controls. He’s 3 and hasn’t gotten it yet. Lol
Then we still have two more about to turn 1!
I have just bought it brand new out of the box and it loosing power
My problem ended up being the throttle trim knob was turned backwards a bit. Needs to be centered. Hopefully that works for you!
I can't seem to keep the plastic wheel hub covers that have Method on them to stay in. They just thread out and I lose them every time. Anyone else have this issue?
Ya and I just leave them off now lol.
I think I still have one or two left but I’m sure the they’ll be lost eventually
Yep! Look nice, disappear quickly!
@ch-vs3fw haha! They do! I think I still have two of them but I leave them off.
Traxxas Rustler or Rival MT10 ? Wich one is better ?
I don’t jVe a rustler unfortunately, but from what I’ve heard, the mt10 holds up better!
@@DerbyCityRC thank you 🍻
You bet!!
awesome as always :)
Thanks!!! 🤘😎
Awesome vids too 🤙🤙
Thanks!!!
Great content
Thanks!
where sid you buy radiator for motor ?
That actually came from my Holyton 9205e. It’s a 540 sized motor so these should fit according to the listing.

@@DerbyCityRC thank you 🍺
You bet!!
Did you get longer strap s from aarma🤣🤣🤣
Haha no I believe they were just Amazon specials
Videos are great
Thanks man!
awesome!!!
Thanks!!!
Jy het nou mooi try op*ok. Maar hy kap aan, lyk na moer goeie truck.
This doesn’t translate well, but it looks great!
What can I do about my rival mt10 wheels falling off?!?
Do they fall off because the wheel nuts come loose and screw off?
If so, a small amount of blue loctite like this on the threads should do the trick. Make sure there isn’t any damage like cracked wheel or worn hexes. amzn.to/3tBLnLd
@@DerbyCityRC thanks will try and buy
Ok! Should be at your local hardware or even auto parts store too.
When I say small amount. I mean a small drop lol it doesn’t take much, and too much will make them too hard to remove.
Did esc break
It did not it was just a simple accidental turn of the throttle trim knob lol
So nothing was wrong with it these are the best team associated racing
Epic!!!! 🤙🏽
Thanks my for real bro!! 😊
Lets send an rc to the moon, and ask "i don't understand that powerloss thing"??????
I know!!! What is with this guy!!??
So I lost power on my first run. I went through a full 2s then switched to 3s. After 10 minutes I lost some power
Lost power like similar to what happened in this video?
@@DerbyCityRC yes. I’m just getting home from vacation so I’m gonna check it and hopefully it was just overheating
Ok so I installed heat sink w/fan and it doesn’t come on. Yes I plugged it into the auxiliary port.
What 3s battery did you use that time?
If I remember right, it was one from this set. amzn.to/3N4ZXjU
Check out Razor RC he has a hack for the team associated rival mt10 and it shows u how to set ur brakes.
O r in ur case to lighten up ur suspension.
Thanks!
Thanks I’ll check it out!
how is this truck so quiet
If really is. Lol
Until it started doing the power loss and got a bit more “whiny” sounding. But I agree! Lightweight-ish and plastic I guess!
@@DerbyCityRC do you do this full time? you're soo hardworking🔥🔥
I don’t !
I actually own a business that I operate completely by myself, which is two full time jobs. Plus we have 4 young kids!
Max is the oldest 😂
We are also in the middle of trying to sell our house so my hands are full to day the least! 🤣😂😅🥲🤯
@@DerbyCityRC appreciate it man.. really love your work.. keep up!
Thanks a ton!
I will!
Hey
Hi
No you just f it up and blame the car🤣🤣🤣🤣
I continue saying it’s probably my favorite car throughout the video. I never blame the car. I know what I do to this thing.
Keep being awesome! 👍😃
Don't bash it and you won't have issues. Do you even. Buy your own vehicles.
Don’t bash it? Lol
I’ll just look at it from now on.
