Fair play scarifying a lawn that big by hand, its hard work ! Top tip: dont lift the rake up ,just push it along the lawn and pull back - saves ur back 👍
Hi, good evening. I hope you are well. I would like to ask you if you can tell me if it is advisable to scarify those types of grass that have stalks, their expansion and proliferation takes place through them. By scarifying I would be cutting and tearing them out to a certain extent. I always follow you and see almost all of your content, especially about grass. Thank you very much for your time and your advice, they are greatly appreciated.
Hi! Good evening, and thank you for your kind words. I’m glad you enjoy my content! As for your question about scarifying grasses with stolons (the horizontal stems that spread the grass), it’s generally not recommended to scarify these types of grasses too aggressively. Grasses like Bermuda, St. Augustine, or other stoloniferous species tend to spread through their stolons, and scarifying could disrupt this natural spreading process. While light scarifying can help with thatch removal and improving soil aeration, if done too aggressively, it might damage the stolons, affecting the grass's ability to spread and thrive. If you decide to scarify, try to do it lightly and avoid cutting too deeply into the soil. It’s always best to follow the recommended care for the specific type of grass you have, so ensure that scarifying is suitable for the particular grass species in your lawn. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions, and thanks again for following my content! 🌱🌱🌱
@ Good evening. Thank you very much for your prompt reply. I imagined it would be like this, so I confirm what you told me, a light and gentle scarification, without applying too much pressure so as not to damage the stolons, just as I thought. The grass I am planting in my garden is Axonopus compressus, commonly known as Bahiana grass or Brazilian grass. It is a very pretty grass. If you don't know it, I invite you to discover it. Greetings and until next time.

Hi, i like ur videos, i have a question; then u done second cut and left grass for a few days to recover to get oxygen can i water the grass after second cut? or not, or i need to wait these two days until fertilization! I bought this gardena tool, and is a problem; i got the same lawn as yours with lots of clovers, and this tool gets stuck in them, its really hard to work like this, and it doesnt matter that u have done first cut to ur lawn, its not easier, maybe i need a power tool (scarifier from Stihl) against clovers. I know It would be better to exterminate clovers, just i dont know how, they are conquered all my grass!
Hello...I know exactly what you are talking about. You are a little late with this type of treatment, because at that stage the clover root has strengthened and spread further, so it is difficult to work with this tool. I "raised" the clover root with this tool: amzn.to/3Nlv4sO and then cut it with a lawnmower, it's a cheaper version, and of course it's an easier version with a scarifier. You can water the grass if it's time to water. Clover appears on lawns that lack nutrients and are poorly ventilated. Its root expands and occupies the entire space. With proper treatment, clover and other weeds will disappear, see one of the ways to remove clover in an "organic" way, if you decide on that option ruclips.net/video/nn0mX4goPZk/видео.html After all treatments before the season, don't mow too low. If the grass is strong enough to overtake the clover in height, it will make it even more difficult for the clover to grow and spread. Remember that it is a process and that it won't go away overnight, but be persistent. Greetings and thanks for watching 🌱
I thought it was an orientation flag to remind you to keep the blades positioned properly through your back strokes to keep the tool doing the optimal dredge of thatch. I used to have a manual rake like this (gave it away, should have kept it) and if you had the blades set to low it would dig in, or too high it would miss alot of thatch. My thoughts!
It was my first use with Gardena tools. Honestly, I didn't know how to take it off and it didn't bother me while I was working. And you can hang it on the wall if you don't take it off! I will definitely use the tool every spring and autumn to remove dead grass remains and superficially aerate the lawn.
It's only good when you're doing this kind of aeration and dead winter grass removal. Otherwise, it's better if you don't mow it too low, because that way the grass suffocates the weeds. It is especially not good to cut too low in the summer because it loses moisture quickly. Thanks for watching 🌱

What is the orange thing attached to the handle? What does it do? Thanks.

it's just a tag with information about the tool. all gardena tools have it. it can be removed

Are you gonna return the tool after making this video because you left it on during the whole process?

Do you do this every year?
Yes... Spring and Autumn
👌👌👌

Does it come with the handle ?
I’ve just looked on Amazon and it’s description says rake head ?
It only has a small extension as in the picture, the handle is universal for many of their tools and is purchased separately.
I think, it is not Gardena 8900, that is only 78 cm long. ?
Mine is Gardena comfort 180 cm, then it is 70 inches. Thanks for the observation🌱
Didn’t think it was good to cut grass that short… thank you for sharing!!
