Excellent vid, I find the most useful to me is a mill (Bridgeport) & a lathe for making one off stuff. Ratcheting spanners are a recent addition and I don't know why I did'nt get them years ago. I think i need another cart after seeing your set up 👍

I don’t think I’ve ever needed a spanner wrench on a motorcycle before but now you’ve got me wondering if I need a set. I’ve looked at the metal lathes and they are $$$$. Thanks for watching.

When I was a Motorcycle mechanic I think I started out with a small Craftsman tool set. Now, over 40 years later. I have Snapon wrenches calipers a Mac tool box. A Craftsman toolbox and about 15 grand in tools. Like you, I purchased what I needed, when I needed it. Love your channel!

Very good advise for the home mechanic get the. Basic hand tools, so you can get regular maintenance done. When it comes to speciality tools they will have to determine the cost versus how often you will use it. If you have a floor jack and the basic tools think of the shop labor savings if you can remove the wheels by yourself and then take it to a shop to have the tire replaced along with wheel bearings. The amount you will save on shop labor time will offset the initial hand tool cost. Your advise is good. Start small and depending on you skill set add tools from there.

This was a video I was going to suggest. It was a great one, pointing out that you don't have to spend a fortune to get the job done right.

Thank you! It was an occurring question. I’m filming one now for our Members Only about how I got started in this business. I guess it’s a nostalgic week for me. Ha.

Brand tools don't make the mechanic, the knowledge and experiences does. I've owned every kind from MAC to Snap-On, and they didn't help me fix a car or bike any faster or better than the cheaper tools I own now.

Oh I'm no mechanic by any stretch I'm pretty much a fixer of most things. I got a Craftsman box I got off the Craftsman tool hour years ago when the cable TV took off. I've got a couple of tool boxes I cleaned out a lady's garage all the stuff was her husband's she just wanted the garage cleaned out some of those tool boxes go back before world war II they're pretty rusty but the doors work. Being retired I really have thought about a nice toolbox but I really don't need it I'm really lucky what I have.
