Nice! Currently running through my unit and replacing parts. (XR13) Replaces the contactor and capacitor, guess this is my next step. Great video, thank you.

Thanks for posting your video. I just purchased a matching part for my unit (service first oem mot18625). So This week, I'm also going to change out the motor to a little bit larger trane outside unit. A 1/4 HP motor. Hope it all goes well, with removal of old fan from motor and wiring.

Great video. My motor on 2yr old Trane is bad. AC company confirmed motor is covered by warranty but quoted me $730 to swap it out. OMG. Guess I’ll just buy a motor and DIY.

My rods that go through my motor are the opposite of the motor in this video. And the holes do not line up at all, however, the end of the motor bolts line up in a secondary set of holes. The originals are useless. How do I attach the motor to the top piece?

@@terencescott3957 i think you have the wrong motor, the 1st motor I bought had no holes..return it and get the correct replacement, it should be a plug and play...anything else is wrong

@@alyoungcuda I managed to figure it out a few hours after my post. I took the screws out and reversed them. Then I took a trip to home depot for some self tapping screws. There were four holes in the motor that didn't have threads that were about 1/2"-3/4" deep. The top piece of my condensor had two sets of holes. The 4 unfinished holed lined up perfectly with the four holes on the top. It's been purring for about 16 hours now. And a lot quieter than usual.

@@terencescott3957 so a good guess is that is not an original brand motor since an original would have the treads..but it works, thats great...
