  • How to Whip Store Bought Icing | Review of Rich's Bettercreme: In this video, I show you step-by-step how to whip store bought icing, specifically Rich's Bettercreme. I also try three different piping techniques once this icing is whipped. This was my first time whipping and piping Rich's Bettercreme on the recommendation of a few subscribers, so I'm sharing my honest opinion! Will I love it or leave it?
    The following is information taken from the packaging:
    Troubleshooting:
    If Bettercreme appears wet, shiny, or slides off the cake, product was not thawed properly.
    -If Bettercreme appears coarse, stiff or airy, the product was either left out of the refrigerator too long, was overwhipped, or exceeded refrigerated shelf life.
    -If overwhipped, add more Bettercreme and whip until product returns to the recommended soft peak appearance.
    Shelf Life:
    -Refrigerated, thawed: 90 days
    Do not refreeze Bettercreme
    Serving suggestion:
    -Use as an icing and filling for cakes, cupcakes, tortes and desserts .
    -Fill donuts and pastries.
    -Decorate or garnish pies and desserts.
    -Add any food coloring or flavor to create cakes and desserts that wow!

    This is what Walmart uses as their whipped icing on cakes. Atleast that’s what I was told by them a handful of years ago. Walmart let me buy some butter cream from them but then we moved and the Walmart by my new house wouldn’t sell it to me 😢 I couldn’t make or find anything even close to their “whipped” icing. And I’ve looked for where to buy it. Idk, I love it! It’s so good! Me and my husband hate bUttercream icing it is not even close to the whipped icing(bEttercream) the whipped is so much better! Lighter, doesn’t melt, isn’t too sweet. Yum!

    • @AsiaCoffee
      @AsiaCoffee  11 месяцев назад +1

      Good question! I’ve never tried that, BUT I feel like it could negatively affect the consistency of the Bettercreme. If you’re aiming for the cream cheese taste, I would recommend adding some cream cheese flavoring instead. I believe Lorann makes one that you can buy from Michaels. I hope this helps!

    I have a question, so I have this. Vanilla Bettercreme Have you ever made this into chocolate using cocoa powder if so, how much. I need it for this weekend thanks

    • @AsiaCoffee
      @AsiaCoffee  11 месяцев назад

      Great question! I have never added cocoa powder to it to make it chocolate, but I will give you a tip. This icing is very soft and watery starting off. I would recommend adding real melted chocolate that’s been cooled to room temperature instead of the cocoa powder. I’ve added colored powdered to whipped icing in a previous video and the powder did not incorporate properly. I think you’ll get a better result if the chocolate you add is closer to consistency to the icing. Best of luck!

      @@AsiaCoffee where I bought that from I’ve used it before but I’ve never added chocolate. My nephew who is turning 4 want it in chocolate. How much melted chocolate do you think I should use just regular milk chocolate chips? Do I need to heat up up any heavy, whipping cream then add the chocolate. some people say use a garni. The lady at the store where I bought it from. She said you’re the fourth person that asked if they could sell the chocolate. She said I’m going to contact my manager again. Thanks

    • @AsiaCoffee
      @AsiaCoffee  11 месяцев назад

      @@krisrtinkoss136 I’m not sure what a “garni” is. You can melt down chocolate chips and use them if you don’t have chocolate bars. As for how much, I would start with melting down and adding about 1/2 a bag (or 6 oz). You’ll must likely need to add the entire bag, but it’s best to start with a small amount of chocolate (in this case) and add more melted chocolate “to taste”.

    Can you tint this icing with Wilton icing colors? Also, is it stiff enough to make roses?
    If you tint it, does the color bleed? Thank you. I enjoy your videos

    • @AsiaCoffee
      @AsiaCoffee  Год назад

      Yes, you should be able to tint this icing with the Wilton gel colors. I explain ways that whipped icing can be colored in this video: ruclips.net/video/1MbZN62jKis/видео.html.
      This icing was quite soft. You could probably pipe roses however they may be stand up for long. You can experiment and try refrigerated a piped rose to see if chilling it would make it more stable.
      I don’t typically work with whipped icing. If you’re concerned about color bleed, I would recommend not using very dark or saturated colors.
      Best of luck and thanks for watching! 💕
