I wish there were more quests revolved around the Forsworn, like possibly a huge main quest to join either the Stormcloaks, Greybeards, Imperials, Thalmor, Stronghold Orcs, or Forsworn.
Pretty sure the Stronghold Orcs weren't really ever bothered with Skyrim as a whole.
ThePooper3000 Yeah, I know I just love orcs, and I feel like there could've been WAY more quests revolved around them.
you can join the stormcloaks and imperials
Joining greybeards would be kinda boring, and i don't think anyone would join those witch elf pussies, or the so called "thalmor"
epic walrus I would join the Thalmor.
man this voice makes it seems like a legit historical documentary instead of some geeky youtube video(not that there's anything wrong with that)
ikr! but still, TES history is waay better than real life history
@@meghbalikamegh6909 you need to read more history. You'd be very surprised.
@@gh0rochi363 im not bashing on real life stories, but, real life stories will never exceed TES, because it have magic + not questionable gods, like real life, but real gods in ES
Geeky RUclips video... boy I tell you...
l prefer the latter.
ShoddyCast made a great call with this voice actor doing the Elder Scrolls series. He makes such a good match.
he does give off the feel ov a old mage telling the tales I agree great match.
@@Lordborgoth666 I agree, I can just imagine an old imperial scholarly mage reading this to a class of young initiates.
that voice is so buttery smooth.... ahhhhhhhhhhh
What's funny is I can picture Sir Alec Guiness saying that!
I wish they would've done more with the Forsworn. And I think The Reach in general is the most interesting and well crafted region in Skyrim.
Well they may yet do something with them. The forsworn are a very old group, and are in ESO. They even have an entire crafting style dedicated to them.
That's how _I_ feel, but except for Markarth and the Blade's Temple (whatever it's called lol), I really hate the Reach. Foggy landscapes, every single tree or plant is mis-shaped or dead, enemies EVERYWHERE. I very much prefer the Rift, which is a very beautiful, autumn-themed region. Plus I love the Thieves' Guild.
BrandonQ1995 the reach isnt fully skyrim
i believe its been part of high rock at points
TheAtmosfear7 you'd hate devon,
I think it speaks to Skyrims weaknesses that hardly anyone has any idea who the forsworn are simply by playing the game,
This voice actor makes it sound like a professional documentary they'd pass in universities to show students how it is done.
Azlorn Magus ...
Hircine's a pretty cool daedra
Half the time he doesn't give a shit, and the other half he's only looking for a worthy opponent. I imagine him and sanguine get along well.
How about him and malacath?
@@jackthunderbolt4307 I would imagine they would at least respect each other as they kinda go together like bread and butter
damn the narrator is Akatosh for sure.
RawB0x in the mehrunes dagon video they reveal that is Haskill
Jef Suarez not really
I want this guy to read up at my bed every night.
+Dániel Szilágyi K, you're weird.
+Dániel Szilágyi XD
+Levi Herendeen he's not, this guy's voice is really soothing, I nearly fell asleep last Episode.
Dániel Szilágyi your comment matches your profile picture 😂
50 shades of gray?
"Heart of thorn... bones of the wild... in life, Forsworn...
...rise from death, Blood of our Blood."
Brian, what the hell man? your a forsworn?
christopher caron its briar not brian
Briar Griffin?!
zach dehovitz forsworn men are revieved in a ritual turning them into a briarheart
christopher caron
I could of swore he would of been an Imperial.
Since I got the top comment I felt that I should atleast say that I enjoyed this new lore vid ALLOT! its awesome to now more about the forsworn and I actually dont hate them as much now that I know this :)
Casey Miller Of course not with fire that stuff is dangerous and scary
Liam Cronin Then how shalt we burn him...?
Harley McDaniel Hmm we could use a really really hot pipe
Liam Cronin Maybe, But, don't you need a heating element such as fire to heat up the pipe to the appropriate temperature?
Harley McDaniel That sounds like witch talk to me!
The Bretons aren't apart of the Forsworn or the Reachmen in general. The Reachmen are there own separate race; they are inbreeds of Nords, Nedes, and Bretons. The Reachmen don't want just Nords out of the Reach, but Bretons as well.
I was confused about that. He said that they are half Nord and half Breton, but they hate Nords and none Bretons.
+Joel Torres He said Nords by the fact that you will find much more Nords than Breton in the Reach.
+Richard Jordan You mean their own ethnicity. Race is a whole other thing.
But they are sorted into the Breton race by the game.
Anna Maria Flax Because it's a fucking game. Not lore. In game, old people are their own fucking race.
ShoddyCast, I do of course not know your plans for your next episode but including Hircines influence on Solsteim during the Morrowind dlc might be fitting!
dragonborn dlc
This was unexpectedly one of the best episodes in the series so far. :] Keep it up, shoddycast.
Sorta off topic but am I the only one who wants elder scrolls VI sneak mechanic to be better? I was thinking instead of just god damn crouching the more you level your sneak you can actually hide in shadows, peek around corners and cause distractions. Think something in the direction of Thief except it wouldn't be the core mechanic of the game
This series is getting better with each episode. That ending tease for a Hircine episode gave me shivers. It's like watching LOST for the first time.
Keep up the awesome work guys!
You guys REALLY need to tell us about Wulfharth the Underking. Definitely one of the most fascinating caracters in the entire TES lore.
yeah i was reading the wiki and i came to the part where he died and was like that`s not interesting, then the (for the first time) part and i was interested.
His story is an absolute legend, evenn more so than that of Ysgramor or other ancient Nords. Can you imagine his Thu'um was so powerful he could only whisper, because otherwise he would kill his entire court?

ShoddyCast The Akaviri invasion? What is it?
***** lol
when you said that they were unseen "anarchists" i shat myself. they are not anarchists they have hagravens as a matriarchy which means they have rulers. I'm not completely sure of the briar hearts role, but i suspect they are some sort ruler. this goes against anarchism but their voluntarianism is very anarchistic of them. i applause the forsworn and hope the red eagle rises aga... oh shit, i killed him........... well, shit happens
Corporate Commander matriarchy means they have "female" rulers
Corporate Commander what does it matter where they shit?
Ok,now knowing what they're about, the Forsworn seem quite interesting. For me they are one of those factions, which are curious, interesting to learn more about, yet ones I would never join, being a true Talos and Aedra believer as well as a supporter of the original Empire. And I apologize, but I see the Forsworn as walking, screaming, easy to kill experience-point meat sacks...Anyway, I think I have found one of the best videos ever made by the lore team! Awesome job, guys!
Love the dude reading this sounds like my old history teacher always had a way of pulling ya into the story good job:)
i am loving the new guy's voice for these elder scrolls videos
Yes Hircine's up next. Personal fave Deadra, can't wait!
I'm fairly certain it will be about the Bloodmoon in particular.
sanguine
Great job guys! Truly your videos keep getting better and better! Keep up the great work.
Thank you thank you thank you for this series! I really appreciate your guy's work and grateful for people like you guys that make this possible. You've sparked my interest in learning more and more about the lore of games. Thanks again.
Great way to start off the day with my coffee in hand. Also, you actually educated me on the Bretons! I always struggled to find examples of Bretons and their magical abilities in Skyrim. Knowing now that the majority of Forsworn were Breton... that makes a lot of sense to me because I always feared going into a forsworn camp because of their intense magical skills!I always had to prairie dog them with my bow while using Lydia as bait especially those damn Briar Hearts! The hag ravens however, I just run up and beat the crap out of them. Nothing more satisfying than slaying one with a big f'n sword! Thanks Shoddycast!
"You have to go back, to the beginning"
*Plays Oblivion theme music*
...
FACEPALM
it could only be better if it was skyrim music
do you expect them to play the Arena soundtrack, it would sound like shit
no i demand morrowind
***** You're the only one here who's making sense. Morrowind theme for the win. :)
yes for i am so wise ;) as are you
Ten Kings of the Reach?
Musta been a crowded kingdom.
Liber Nox ba dum tss
I just want to let you know, I really appreciate you taking time to lay out and explain things that are hard to piece together when playing the game, for giving us the lore in a bigger picture. Thank you, and please continue your great work.
But that is a story for another day.
I expected a wolf howl, that would have been awesome.
But expected
I have been anticipating the Forsworn story for sometime... And you did not disappoint! Being an avid fan of the ES lore... these are pure gold and fill in questions i have had that i have failed to discover in my adventures. Thank you!
ERMAHGERD HIS ACCENT AHHHHH SO BADASS
Good video, you taught me something new today. I never realized the importance/correlation of "Red Eagle" & the Forsworn. I thought it was just a random side quest. Certainly gives the Forsworn a different perspective, one i'll take back into the game. Keep up the good work.
Man you have an amazing story telling voice. It made me subscribe to you.
That guy's voice is so good I got goosebumps. One of your best Lore videos by far!
You need to do Pelinal Whitestrake, there is a good deal of information on him!
It is apparent how much time and thoughts went into your movies, ShoddyCast. Thank you!
I'm loving this new voice lol. It just fits so well. I loved the other voice too, but sorry to say, it just fits better :)
new? mate this was 2 years ago
TheVideo Commenter bruh for me it is new. I'm watching this now.
Welcome then :)
TheVideo Commenter pleasure to be here! Thanks :)
Tenth Divine nope
The intro sequence always gives me the good chills
ive been waiting for this one :)
also, little bit of feedback, I like your voice actor or whoever it is for the fall out lore more than the elderscrolls one
I found this channel a couple of days ago and as a new comer to the Elder Scrolls World, I'd like to say Thank You! i play the crap out of Skyrim and your Lore series brings life to an otherwise confusing world. I look forward to watching your future content and rewatching your previously released videos :)
Me: "This looks interesting!" *click*
Narrator: "You have all had your experiences with Tamriel"
EARGASM!
You don't have a Ears remember
People_And_Me Dat incest demon child took nicely care of that. Not so nicely tough.. In my opinion.
Another great episode guys, highly appreciated as always.
I remember being amazed when I saw a Foresworn charging towards me with two swords. felt kinda sad for killing them, they're so awesome.
I've been a Hircine fanboy since Oblivion.
so desperately wanted to play BloodMoon.
Every time I watch one of these I always get to he end wish the next one was out. One of the best series on youtube IMO amazing job
I become really hesitant when defending myself from the Forsworn I feel bad for them for being pushed out of their own land, reminds me of the Native Americans, the Ainu & the Aborigines in Australia
@Kinda Brian, But not really. I'd say Celts, Forsworn names are very similar to Celtic names.
@Kinda Brian, But not really. Sami only ever owned the northern third though, Lapland. Scandinavians (as in the Germanic peoples, while Sami are Finnic) have occupied the southern parts of Scandinavia from before the Sami came.
And like Big T says, the Forsworn are heavily inspired by the Celts. I think Roman invasion of Britain is a closer analogy.
I don't usually comment on videos of Lore, but you Sir deserve it!
Loved the way you told the story, the image, voice and speed.
Congratulations!
If you guys can do a Morag Tong video, it would be awesome! They are one of my favorite groups in the elder scrolls series
I thought this episode was very well done! never found the foresworn to be that interesting but you guys did an awesome job with this, as you always do. Love your work!
Forsworn = Win.
The Reachmen natives deserve to have their homeland back! :D
BirthOfSerpents I think it's a bit late for that...
BirthOfSerpents The Falmer may need some more time to regain their former glory. After all, they'll first need to get rid of their literal blindness. :P
Ah well, the Falmer still have Blackreach all to themselves since the day all the Dwemer disappeared. Not to mention they also have the 'Forgotten' Vale (forgotten by Nords, indeed), which is still part of Skyrim.
I think Winterhold & the Pale are the perfect Holds to allow Falmer to live independently on the surface of Skyrim. Since the College of Winterhold is neutral ground, Falmer mage-apprentices could be allowed to send some there to not only learn...but introduce the resident mages to the Falmer's ancient Dawn magics. :D
BirthOfSerpents The Snow Elves drove the Nords out of Skyrim first, that the Nords did the same to them is merely called kharma. And it wasn't the Nords that turned the Snow Elves into blind subterranean freak-shows, that would be the Dwemer.
BirthOfSerpents I would not doubt the Falmer's ability to set aside thoughts of vengeance. Leave thoughtless vengeance to the humans.
That would be part of their recovery process from their current state as the blind "Betrayed".
Going back to the main point, though...
Forsworn/Reachmen FTW!!!
If/When ShoddyCast does a Falmer Lore episode, I'm going to be praising them in the comments-section the whole time...because they Praise the Sun! :D
BirthOfSerpents Um dude, the Atmorans fled to Skyrim because their homeland was in civil war. Nowhere in ES history did they ever came that they were originally from Skyrim.
Love this videos! It’s 2020 and 6 years since it came out I will re-watch it over and over.
am i the only one who think that they should do a mass effect lore? seriously, mass effect have one of the largest and best lore on gaming.
Chills! Freakin' chills this gave me, man. I Love this series. Keep up the awesome work.
3:12 - "time passed by and the dragonborn came, he was walking around killing every single forsworn just because he could. Then he stole the burning sword and sold it to a merchant in riften for 30 septims."
I wasn't very interested in Skyrim a fiew weeks ago, but after seeing your first lore video I got hooked to the story and I want to buy the game now!!!!
You guys make the best lore videos and your narrations are marvellous.
I love how much work is put on every single video.
This in an artistic point of view is fantastic.
Keep up the good work you guys!!!!
i like the new voice actor
My favorite episode so far. Well done Shoddies!
Damn, I'll admit this changed me. For the longest time I've butchered the forsworn like cattle, mainly for getting in my way, but now I outright pity them. Theirs was a unique culture and homeland that they themselves have now been cast out of. It also further reinforces my belief that ulfric stormcloak is a hypocrite. He fights for the preservation of nord culture, but only HIS nord culture. He murdered and cast out the forsworn in the belief that all of skyrim belonged to talos-worshipping Nords despite the existence of another native culture. He acts just like the aldmeri dominion he so greatly despises, a revolutionary turned tyrant. Impressive how accurately Bethesda has written the nuances of human history into the elder scrolls lore. It makes it feel all the more real. But I'm just a rambling old argonian, whoever listens to me? *sips mead*
The King of the Penguins The Atmorans/Nords the first humans to settle in tamriel thus the forsworn's only reason is out of the window also the orcs were there even before the nords came from atmora but lorkhan did create the humans/nords on the throat of the world
Yousof Abu Suliman Except the Atmorans are not the same race as Nords. Atmorans are the ancestors of all humans in Tamriel except for the Redguards. Thus the Bretons and Nords are both descended from the Atmorans, only the Bretons have a little elf blood mixed in. The Atmorans who settled in High Rock and Western Skyrim (the Reach) interbred with the native elves and became the Bretons. The Atmorans who settled in the rest of Skyrim wiped out the Snow Elves and became the Nords. So yes, the Bretons are natives of the Reach, and were there well before the Nords.
ElongatedVowels Your evidence I've always though that the group that built sarthal were the first from atmora plus the orcs were definitely there before the bretons
+The King of the Penguins
In truth, both Stormcloaks and Forsworn are very similar. Ulfric: "Skyrim belongs to the nords." Forsworn: "The Reach belongs to the Forsworn." They both fight for something that they've lost or fear losing.
The biggest difference is that Stormcloaks don't automatically murder anyone who isn't a Nord but the Forsworn do. The Forsworn are vengeful murderers and Stormcloaks are bigoted racists.
+The King of the Penguins Took the words right out of my mouth. I was quite willing to join the Stormcloaks until I heard Madanach's story. Ulfric didn't have his rebellion back then but his only condition to massacre the Forsworn was that Igmund would enforce Talos worship in Markarth. The Forsworn were driven from their ancestral land and pretty much forced out of worship of their deities. EXACTLY what Ulfric was fighting AGAINST the Aldmeri for.
I love this Lore series, it only gets better and better.
Never been first... So im not even gonna say it
you just did
ya got me!
Really cool, really cool..Love the animations and cinematics. I like both the narrators voices, they both sound dreamy..seriously ShoddyCast has gotta be the best ES lore videos I have seen so far.
So awesome! As an Irishman I love the forsworn!
Another great addition to the lore series, gettin' my lore and coffee on.
loved the forsworn....
I am LOVING these newer lore videos.
I wish there was a mod that would allow you to join the Forsworn and have them succeed against both Ulfric and the Empire.
+Darris Hawks There is more than one, actually. I'm pretty sure they're still riddled with bugs though. None of those were under sustained development AFAIK. You'll also have to manually make them compatible with USLEEP if they were made back when USKP was still the norm.
I love the transitions! You go from the childhood of Talos to the Daedric princes so seamlessly while covering everything in between!!
(sigh) Why can't every day be storytime day?
you can always read the books in game and the wiki has a lot of interesting information too
Tadas Armonavičius i would prefer morgan freeman to read me a story rather than read a book. probably same applies to this video
but what if you read a story in the voice of Morgan Freeman ? When I read stories written in English my brain instantly switch to Sean Connery or Morgan Freeman voiceover :D
Tadas Armonavičius because i would like for morgan freeman to read me a bed time story while i close my eyes. reading prevents me from closing my eyes lol
seems legit :D
Such high quality! I've always been fascinated with the Forsworn. Something about their brutal image yet reasonable cause has interested me greatly.
"Damn the Forsworn!"
I never realized how hard it was to make an amazing elder scrolls lore episode and i want to thank you for making these videos and that they are amazing!!!
I knew they worshiped Hircine, but I never knew they worshiped Azura. Hircine makes sense, but Azura, that doesn't.
Azura is the most annoying god ever, period, I'd not be surprised. :D
The intro and music makes it sound like a real adventure :D Makes me so happy!
I Wonder why Skyrim did not have the option for the DB to join up with the Forsworn..
The forsworn were the only people I liked in the whole conflict.
Their is a mission in skrim that allows you to join them.
No....
don't you tease now..
There was a mod I downloaded that let you do that if you do the Forsworn conspiracy. It was pretty neat. But It broke my game and I had to remove it.
You can live with one tribe of forsworn but nothing happens after that. They just keep saying "the reach will be ours again" -_- so i killed them with great annoyence
This guys voice gives me shivers! LOVE IT!
Somehow you still need to do Ysmir Wulfarth. Or Pelinal Whitestrake. Or any of the Shezzarines.
He did do Tiber Septim lol
Damn! That last part was AWESOME! Im so looking forward to that episode. I loved the way ShoddyCast made this episode with live animations rather than with painted pictures. You should definitely keep this style for your videos. All your video are exciting and a pleasure to watch! Expecially them Fallout videos too! Hoping for more of Lore from all the myths and books of Elder Scrolls and Fallout! Have a great weekend and great job you guys!
I'm gonna go play Skyrim now :D
ShoddyCast makes me want to find all the lore books in Skyrim and the other Elder Scrolls to learn this stuff. Shoddy you da real mvp. I wish you made some lore videos in your own voice. Its so silky smooth. ;)
AWESOME narration voice
What the heck. This. Is. So freakin awesome! It's like as of you are an old historian, narrating the verbal history of skyrim around a camp fire. Like the tales of old. This is super cool!!!
Its just too bad that the Forsworn don't recognize other Bretons who enter the reach.
It's cuz they are dumbasses
John McCall well the reachmen, aren't really Bretons. from an ethnic standpoint they are very closely related but from a cultural standpoint they are very different. Bretons in the reach are often offended if they are thought of as reachmen (dark brotherhood quest line). and the nords don't think very poorly of them, atleast not nearly like they think of the reachmen
ShoddyCast, I love the work you guys do, I love all your lore series. Fantastic !
I dont know if you guys are into books at all but id love to see a lore series on Stephen Kings The Dark Tower or Game of Thrones!
Dark Tower FTW
Hear, hear! You say true, sai. Long days and pleasant nights to thee.
TheMeanMongoose and may you have twice the number!
Lord Sauron No Sauron, not that dark tower...
I really loved the Narrator on this one. I hope he does ALL of the Lore telling in this site.
Am I the only one that thinks that the cidna mine quest should lead to a forsworn/destroy the forsworn questline.
I liked the new guys voice to begin with, when I was just listening out of my computer speakers. Now that I've put on my good headphones, it's on a whole other level. Great episode, ShoddyCast!
Awesome series!
It's like...butter in my ears. Never stop.
I wonder if you will do the events of daggerfall in your future videos...
The world need more people like you guys! If i could, i would donate a lot of money to your cause, this work is awesome!
Another awesome Lore video. Bethesda should hire this guy to voice in TESVI.
BUT WHEN WILL IT COME OUT AFTER ALL THIS ONLINE NONSENSE ARRGHH
Dan Latt Its two different companies ESO in no way affects the next ES release.
Ides385 They will be working on Fallout 4 though...I love Fallout, but ES is my absolute favorite
So professionaly done theses videos please. Continue. Making more
"...so that Fealen the fabled Red Eagle may once again return to lead his people to prosperity and greatness..."
oops. I already killed him. Sorry forsworn!
Gonna watch this VERY soon. Lately I've been feeling like I don't know enough about TES (even though I already know a crapton) so i've been watching your videos. Really enjoyable.
Hey shoddy cast, I've got a "quest" for you. I want you guys to make your own character from either The Elder Scrolls of Fallout and make a complete background on him/her. That would be awesome
you guys are doing a fantastic job im 18 and i can guarantee i will continue watching this series for a very long time keep doing what you guys do best
Amazing video!
These videos are so expertly made. Well done and thank you
For weapons made of bone and animal skin, they sure are strong, stronger than steel.
Amazing job as usual. I love the videos. Absolutely can't wait for the next one.
