I think of all the Daedra, the only one I genuinely like is Hircine: He's perfectly polite, affable, willing to give his prey a fair chance (even rewards them if they survive) and looks out for his followers.
Not to mention, I like his artifacts and their uses.
I like him too but Sheogorath, Azura, Clavicus Vile and Sanguine is awesome too. They're actually my top 5 favorite daedric lords. Like this:
1. Sheogorath
2. Clavicus Vile
3: Sanguine
4. Hircine
5. Azura
I was thinking of making Hircine top 3 but debauchery is just...well never mind. I'm a werewolf myself in my current playthrough so liking Hircine is a necessity. But you should reconsider Sheogorath because he is just awesome. You don't know him if you don't like him.
Sheogorath and hircine are awesome.
I like the moment when sheogorath challenged hircine to a monster fight hircine had a big ugly monster you don't want to mess with, sheogorath had a small bird.
Then the monster tore itself apart trying to kill the small bird who kept irritating the monster further and further until the bird won.
Ethan truth Just like madness. the bird was the symbolization of madness, Sheogorath's the god of madness afterall, he knows how to irritate.
Yeah. The other Daedra consider Sheogorath to be an annoying prankster. That's part of the reason they bound him to Jyggalag, Prince of Order. The other reason was because they feared the latter because of his power and that he stood for unchanging, unflinching order.
With them, it was a daily struggle between order and chaos. Even Malacath was more popular than parties than him, and Malacath is *NOT* popular at parties!
Speaking of parties, you should check out Sanguine's quest in Oblivion if you really want to see who is unpopular. I imagine if when asked why made you do it, he'd respond simply with: "It was funny".

Hircine may be one of my favorite Deadric Princes, he's neutral, he's not really evil, he's not really good, he just wants to hunt. When a Werewolf dies they go to his realm and his realm isn't some terrible place where you suffer for eternity it's just one long hunt, some people may want that. What i'm saying is that the differences between sovngarde and The Hunting Grounds is a matter of preference.
for a warrior race that honors strength and power(nord, redguard and orc), Hircine seems to be a more fitting god to worship than the 8 gods,except Talos of course

Probably because he is just a dadric lord not one of the nine divines. Also it might be his association with werewolves and other man-beasts.

These are so well-made. Seriously. Professional-level work.
Sheogorath is so clever. He *knew* Hircine was going to create a monstrosity due to being the Father of Manbeasts... he would obviously want to live up to his title, but what Hircine seemingly didn't completely understand is that Sheogorath is called the Prince of Madness for a reason; he probably expected an extremely wicked, insane creature, probably horrifying too, but Sheogorath in midst of his madness is extremely mischievous as well. Hircine should have expected something more than just an insane creature, he should have taken into account Sheogorath is unpredictable and mischievous and knew Hircine would try to create a terrifying beast because of his title, and used exactly that against him. That's just seriously one of the coolest stories I've heard from the Skyrim lore.

I would have loved a DLC for Skyrim based around werewolves with the full set of saviours armour as a reward. Maybe an extension of the Companions quest line involving the circle members.
There is a pack of werewolves in Dragonborn DLC. Though they don't have quests of their own.

Not really Skyrim, but in one of the TES III Morrowind DLCs, you can go to Solstheim and fight Hircine himself in single combat
@@charizardfan1017 Oh absolutely, more content like that would be great. Honestly, I'm thinking more stuff where you could actually join a pack or something. Skyrim had the companions, but that was really smashed together with the "warriors" guild of the game.

It's interesting to note that while Sheogorath is the mad god, there are numerous accounts of him beating the other Daedra at their own game. Which means that he is in fact the most powerful Daedric lord and you can see the remnants of Jyggalag (however you spell that) within him.
Which leaves me to wonder, simply because you have the most interaction with him in Skyrim: Dragonborn, what Sheogorath's interaction with Hermaeus Mora would be like?

Hircine is definitely one of the more "grey-area" Daedric Princes. Purists such as as the Vigilants can persecute Daedra like Hircine all they want but the fact remains that without the ability to hunt mankind would have died out. Hunting is all-good when you're the hunter but when you're the hunted it's not so good.
In that vein, Lycanthropy is a double-edged sword in the purest sense of the term.
It's just a shame that Xbox360 players will never experience the amazing Werewolf mods which improve the condition so much it's unreal. I always thought that Lycanthropy, much like Vampirism, should bolster the mortal form of the person under the influence. Increased health and stamina, increased healing and stamina regeneration rates, increased armor and running speed... and a severe weakness to silver weapons even outside Beast Form.

Hircine ultimately is a god of nature not of civilization that’s where the draw backs of lycanthropy come into play.
Those who have negative experiences as a wherewolf are living in denial they are the ultimate hunter yet they try to live normally behind stone walls rather than go out into the wilderness hunting this contradiction of natures is what leads to negative experiences such as with sinding, whereas the comparisons Aela especially have found a relatively healthy balance

I normally don't feel like the characters are looking at me when I'm watching these videos even though they are facing forward or in that general direction. But that werewolf's orange eyes... it was as if it knew I was here and was eyeing me up like it does to a prey. It was one of the few moments I scrolled down just to avoid the intense gaze

I really enjoy the elder scrolls lore series i have been playing since morrowind i new a few basics of elder scrolls lore but still next to nothing thank you for creating such an original and wondrous series I think I speak for most people when I say a big thank you to the Shoddy Cast.

Once you've finished with the Daedric princes you should do the great houses of Morrowind and the dragon priests. Each House and Priest should get their own video.
Isn't really enough lore for individual Dragonpriest. The only ones that could really have a lore video to themselves would really only be Miraak, Vahlok, and Ahzidal.

Get the mod moonlight tales. it adds a bunch of werewolf content. perhaps my favorite part is that Everytime there's a full moon you will uncontrollably transform into a werewolf. The screen starts pounding blood red, and if I'm in a city I rush outside before the transformation is complete (waiting and fast travel is disabled). the transformation lasts all night and doesn't go away until dawn. I take these nights as an excuse to charge into the wilderness of skyrim and wreak havoc. it feels so immersive.
I remember the Hircine saga in the Bloodmoon expansion for Morrowind. That was fun. I think I liked Bloodmoon more than Tribunal.
Thankyou so much guys, your videos are in my opinion really the only lore series that do the elder scrolls justice. I remember the very first time i watched one of your lore videos i loved it. I watched all of them after that and i still watch them whenever they are published. I even got into the fallout series after you started the lore videos on them. Keep it up guys. Your doing awesome

What I didn't expect was Hircine's amusement afterwards. You'd think he'd be pissed for killing all his hunters. But no, he was all chill and congratulates you. After the quest, Hircine became my fav daedric prince.

Sheogorath has out smarted various Daedric princes, it's rather impressive. Although if I were in Nirn I would probably worship Jyggalag, the Nine Divines, Lorkhan, Anu and and his derivatives. (I realize that Sheogorath is the mad version of Jyggalag, I would worship Sheogorath's true self: Jyggalag instead.

+diego jwz I know you wrote this 2 months ago but...WRONG ! The Hero Of Kvatch cannot be resurrected. Sheogorath IS THE Hero ! In TES IV Shivering Isles DLC the hero becomes Sheogorath, so the Sheogorath you see in Skyrim is actually the Champion Of Cyrodiil. No need to thank me.
Sheogorath wipes the identity from Vampire Lord, leading him to figure out who he was and what he is... I've already starting writing that story, but it's just a suggestion :)
I wonder what the relationship between Hircine and Molag Bal (my favourite Daedric Lords) might be: true, vampires and werewolves rarely see eye-to-eye, but seeing as werewolves are, in the eyes of the Aedra, corruptions of the mortal spirit and vampires are hunters in their own right and thus, indirectly and unintentionally, perhaps honour the Huntsman of Princes in their own way, maybe these two Daedra Lords participate in some things...

Werewolves are pretty cool to play as in Skyrim. I have a couple of characters currently, and one of them is an Orc-Werewolf build.

Just a little bit of feedback, I'd suggest you don't mention the fact that it was the Champion of Cyrodill, The Nerevarine, or the Dragonborn. It would make them look like completely ridiculous characters in the lore, because they would have no clear allignment. It would be better to reference the player characters as "a traveller", or "a mysterious man". This would not only make the world look bigger (because otherwise, the entire quest-summaries would revolve around the player characters), but also gives some more ways to headcanon stuff for people who played The Elder Scrolls in a different way.
I think it's written in the elderscrolls lore that way. I don't think that's just what shoddycast chose to do.
Nicholas Avlakeotes A lot of things are hintings, just like all things in the Elder Scrolls lore. Is the new Sheogorath the reincarnation of the champion of cyrodill? Stuff like that is hinted at, but not confirmed. Even though we know that the dragonborn is officially supposed to do these quests, it would make just as much sense to suggest someone else did it.
I think this is a really good idea and that ShoddyCast should implement this in their lore series.
I doubt the TES protagonists did all you could do in games (well, I am simply sure they didn't). Becoming Archmage, Legionnairie, Member of Dark Brotherhood, serving all the Daedra and shit.
