I feel like the laughter was a result of them not knowing just how profoundly epic this movie is and was going to be. Their awkward laughter shows us that they didn't quite yet grasp the weight of what they just saw. Nowadays, laughter? No. Maybe cheers, hell, maybe even TEARS. But above all a a silent and profound admiration for just how beautiful this moment is.

One can't help but feel the suspense when Marty notices that he's vanishing from the photo, and the creepiness gets worse when he's seeing his hand fade out, with that rapid heartbeat going on in the music score. That mutual smile he and George share together afterwards is touching. George only knows Marty as a good friend, not knowing what he's done, but Marty understands perfectly; his future family existence is secured. All in all, a beautiful scene from one of the greatest sci-fi films of the 80s.

My only minor complaint about this scene is where Marty uses what he thought might be his last breath to call for “George” to kiss his mom. It would seem more likely that if he really thought this might be it, he’d call out for “Dad” to kiss his mom. Still gives me chills nonetheless.

I was just smiling (I was so nervous!!) and she asked me again the same question and I said to her " well I'm speechless, but let's see if you understand this...(and I kissed her ...) now we are married and we have 3 beautiful kids of 16,15 and 14 years old... George grew some balls inadvertly changing his life but saving Marty's aswell while not even knowing the power of his actions! He didn't do it for any reason other than pure love and love is that one thing, that one emotion that can change anything! That wave for me is a sign of a man who is simply in love and thanking a guy who helped push him in that direction! It works on so many lvls it is insane how a story so simple can be executed in such an emotionally deep detailed thoughtful way! Bravo🧡

This has to be the most perfect kiss in movie history. Passionate and powerful without being over the top. Was shot beautifully.

From the moment before the kiss to the wave- hits me the same way today as it did whenever I first saw this as a kid. I may have seen this movie more than any other.

Michael J Fox will always be one of my favourite people ever. Outside of acting, he's accomplished so much.

I just love the little touches, like the way the photo lights back up, IN ORDER, to the beats of the music. FLAWLESS.

Marty nearly fading away to then seeing his parents kiss and he and his siblings return to existence puts one of the biggest smiles on my face every time I watch this scene.

I think a part of what makes this scene so beautiful is that it feels almost as if the universe is conspiring to get George and Lorraine together, not just Marty (Marty's attempts to do this all failed.) It's like divine intervention that George had that spark of confidence to go back and stand up to the bully

Marty never thought at that table that her mom's boring Enchantment Under The Sea was going to be such a thing

I was born in 1999, but my parents were teens during the 80s, and I've been watching this movie for my whole life. I remember watching it on tube TVs and projectors during the early 2000s. Easily one of if not my favorite movie of all time! I'm 19 now and I still love it and plan on showing it to my future children one day! I hope the next generation is being shown this film still

I want to walk into a random high school where nobody knows me, and pick out a random guy, and a random girl, and just try so hard to get the guy to go out with her, and every time he screws up, I'll act really weak
