@@023Whiplash having to farm only 1 of the 2 sets and needing 3 full sets (12 artifacts) that has decent stats is worse than hell. making it only 8 instead of 12 is a huge help already. it's worse than the crimson domain cus most of the time theres only 1 user of it per comp unlike the husk where there would be 2-4 users which makes it impossible to just transfer the sets to other characters.

Mihoyo should start increasing the resin refresh rate, now that we have so many characters that we want to build but there's not enough resin to go around. I really want to keep up with the new characters but I have so many on the backlog needing to be built :(
There is actually a VERY niche use I found for Gorou as the only Geo character in your team and that's a C6 Xinyan Build, which makes Gorou work like a second Bennet for your team. Tried it with terrible artifacts and barely levelled talents and it already did a ton of damage, I wanna try and invest a bit into that team as I really liked the weird and unique playstyle of it
how much spin damage does an invested xinyan even do? i don't get why people use her, noelle has almost triple the scaling on her spin and over 4 times the AOE, a better shield, is tankier and heal. literally better in every aspect

Triple crown Itto let’s go!!!! I had never wanted to triple crown a character this bad before. Itto is one of the most fun characters I ever had, and I don’t even like claymore playstyle.

The way Mihoyo is building geo towards def, I feel Ningguang is ultimately going to fall away as she has no scaling with def. I was hoping Gorou would be more of a universal buffer but it's just 15% geo dmg bonus in my eyes(Unless C6)
Although I agree with you when you are pointing out Ninguang doesn't have a dedicated Geo support, I still think she kinda doesn't need one because she can use Bennett much more effectively than any def scaling geo unit (using Bennett in Itto team can be less profitable bc of diminishing returns on atk). So I don't think she will fall away or something like that because she is already a very strong character that can benefit a lot from the game's top supports.

I quite often use Exile on various characters for giving energy to my teams, so this is not a surprise for me. Just the opposite, I think it's very weird how rarely guides consider lower lvl sets. Even just because of the fact grinding for best artifacts is on the bottom of the list to do to upgrade your characters. I see Instructor was mentioned here, yeah, that's another valid set which can even be used for META in some cases.
I had no primos and pulled twice on both Itto's banner and the weapon banner searching for Gorou/Redhorn for my Noelle, and 2 Barbaras popped out even on the Redhorn banner. I do not use Barbara and need Xiangling cons.

The need to invest in Gorou rises as you gain more constellations for him. At C0, all you need is good energy recharge, and some geo damage. At C4, you need to frontload him with a LOT of DEF% in order to maximize his healing.
Not at all, the scaling on C4 is bad and not even close to a proper healer. Not worth the investment, better to just give him some ER (and crit rate for Favonius). The artifacts you'd have to grind would be better spent making Itto/Albedo/etc better.
it's the same regardless of cons. the healing on his c4 is piss low that even a 2k def (which is kinda hard to do, given you have alot of investment to get into this point) gorou will only heal 1k hp per tick (which is piss low compared to other dedicated healers) a low investment 1k resin c4 gorou that will heal 1k per tick.
In all honesty, while I agree that C4 Gorou isn’t an amazing healer, you’re gonna be running him with either Itto/Noelle, who already have insane def stats. On top of that MOST players will be running them with Zhongli or albedo, one who has a strong shield and the other who will give 100% uptime on crystallized shields. In my opinion, I don’t think healer Gorou is all that bad. Yeah it’s super low compared to someone like Bennett and sayu, but with all those shields and defense, it’s enough to sustain your main carry (unless there’s corrosion) which is all a character like Itto really needs
Right now I'm using 2p husk 2p emblem, particularly pieces that were meh when farming for Albedo/Itto/Raiden but had nice def/ER substats so were good for Gorou. Just with that and fav warbow I managed to get 204% ER so I'm good. Main stats wise I want to try def/def/def even if I sacrifice crit rate, because my Gorou is c4 and I want to see how much defense he can stack for healing (my healing bonus circlets don't have the right substats, so I want to try def circlet first). I can't really say much about whether it works or not since I also ran out of mora in the middle of my geodudes building and half of my artifacts are still low leveled lmao

Farming for 4pcs of good DPS HooD for Itto/Noelle eventually drops free 4pcs of potentially good support stats of HooD for Gorou. That's just how practical artifact farming goes--so no need to stress yourself if some people think otherwise, I guess.

Because I've seen people genuinely stress about getting THREE 4pc husks for gorou itto albedo and prioritize the set and def stat for gorou over energy recharge which I think is more crucial for him.

Probably not but close, the max defense I have gotten is around 3000 with Itto and Albedo with a lot of buffs. So a healing around 2000 may be the best we can get.
You probably would want to use Maiden's Beloved instead of Ocean Hued Clam if your are looking at making a healer Gorou build. The additional incoming healing bonus 4 piece maidens gives would be superior to getting a weak bubble from the 4 piece clam.
I just started playing Genshin a month ago after a friend showed it to me and I immediately fell in love with Gorou, I feel so lucky he was part of the latest banner so I got him super quickly, and I even have him C2 now. He’s so cute, I just cannot not walk around as him all the time. Since I’ve been playing for a while now I’m finally getting into building characters better so this is super helpful! I just equipped him with the Exile set and the Favonius Warbow and I really like it, thank you for this video!
Yo c4 gorou also makes it possible to run 2 piece ocean hued clam or even the 4 piece. Since his healing is not enough with low investment to outheal doggo bleed this really helps.
I tried that, my bubbles are hitting for around 8k but they're consistently so, and almost always gathering between his E and ult. A nice tick of damage, more than he was usually getting with more damaging pieces, and they all had def% on them too so why not.

I'm using nobles on gorou with def and er focus, after watch ur vid i'll try 4 exiled, ty for ur tips, btw i'm using 14:00 this comp with redhorn, I like the nobles cuz my itto hits 17k pure physical, but I think ll b better if I get more energy to use my ultimate more
I'd recommend to give him 2pc ocean hued and 2pc husk for the healing, since his healing (at C4) scales with his def, and the ocean pieces you get wouldn't be too much of a waste if you don't have qiqi or kokomi. You can give him er, def, healing bonus/crit rate depends on whether you have enough crit rate or not. As to why do you need crit rate on him, mr zyox has already explained it in the video so I won't repeat again.

Guys when using itto inside on gorou’s skill or burst you must swap to him first and then pop his burst otherwise gorou’s defense bonus from his skill won’t factor in, his passive that gives all party members a 25% defense bonus will though
How would you use his burst without swapping to him? Are you talking about the ALT + Number to swap and then instantly use Ult? (or just press the icon on mobile)

I made a team today with Noelle, Xiangling, Gorou, and I have Barbra in at the moment but I think I’m gonna put Diona in Barbra’s place Is there anything you disagree with about that build? @@LaneStafford-d5u venti is one of the best supports in the game, so he’s a very universal character and could fit well in almost any team. i’d say the one team he doesn’t fit into is a mono-geo team because the geo element can not be swirled. if you have any other questions feel free to ask
I’m thinking about going for an all-out healer build for gorou when I get his c4, maybe 2pc husk and 2pc ocean hued clam? I’d be keeping his def% sands and goblet, but I’d probably have to farm more to maintain his crit rate after I replace the circlet. Edit: I guess I should put out here that he's going to be on a mono geo team? Zhongli-Albedo-Gorou-Itto, all with some ER substats to generate geo particles. Gorou's ER is already over 180, I'm not worried about not having his burst on cooldown.
If you really wanna go all into healing, then maiden is way better than anything else. As long as you still have enough energy though, but in that team you'll probably be fine. Whether it's worth it to focus all into healing forgoing a bit of his crit rate and therefore his battery role idk, but probably it is honestly.

Nice guide as always, love the content! But something bugs me a little. Why would Def Goblet be better than Geo Dmg Goblet? Like, him gaining defense only gives him more damage, it doesn't amplifies his buffs. While a Geo Dmg Goblet also just gives him more damage but it's better than Def, specially if you're already running Def in your sands.
It might be because he already gains geo damage bonus with his ascension stat and you can 2 piece petra for even more without losing the def goblet. However that's just a guess on my part
Its because you normally want to run ER sands if you don’t have enough energy from sub stats and Gorou still wants Def so you use a Def goblet instead of geo dmg, otherwise you just don’t have enough Def

i used to use ningguang with thrilling tales as a support for my noelle. she generates so much energy that i don't think you need favonius or amber on her, i'd rather have the 400 atk buff
How much can ninnguang heal with prototype amber? I was debating between her and geo traveler for itto battery but geo traveler seems to be better cause c2 ninnguang still has that god awful icd issue on her skill where it doesn’t give you energy particles the second time you use it. Meanwhile geo traveler gives consistent four particles per e with a low cool down (plus sacrifical sword for even more). However Ninnguang has 12% geo damage bonus when you run through her jade screen, but geo traveler has 10% crit rate bonus with his q, so it’s a hard choice.
@@there_vision prototype amber healing is fixed 4% - 6% of their Max HP every 2 seconds for 6 seconds. tbh, you can use both of them. you can use ningguang as your dedicated healer with Prototype Amber and having the Geo MC as well on your comp. Take note that you should build your Geo MC as damage as well. and also, if you have C2 Ningguang, you should always do E > Burst > E so you won't get cucked by ICD.

WelI definitely can’t do both cause I gotta have room for gorou, and the last slots gotta be diona for her shield and healing and geo resonance through her shield since crystallize shields aren’t reliable at all (I don’t have zhongli). And with diona healing and shielding I think I’ll just stick with geo traveler at a low investment energy recharge build to battery itto and gorou’s bursts.
@@astrokun4718 But think about the fact that you use Gorou in Defense heavy teams, that will receive less damage and will need less healing. This way Gorou frees a slot for you because you don't need an extra healer and you can just put in one more Burst DPS or Damage buffing support
Whether or not it boosts healing more would depend on how much DEF % you have. If you are using a defense goblet, as well as a 2 piece Husk, then you're most likely going to gain more healing from a healing % circlet. On the other hand, if you are using 2 piece Clam, 2 piece Maidens, ER sands, and geo goblet, well, you'd most likely get more from a defense circlet. It's like crit rate and crit damage, except the optimal ratio you'd be looking for would be about 9% healing bonus to 13 def %. And since def % is much, much easier to get, well, healing bonus is most likely the way to go.
as a character that will mainly be used exclusively in mono geo teams, it seems like a waste to invest in his ER capabilities when you dont even need that many particles in a mono team. You basically gain nothing and lose 7k damage from his E that you will spam often.
Since his C4 can heal at a 👌 amount, It reminds me of the *4pc. Maiden's Beloved* set but I think it's pretty niche to use for a healer Gorou. I wanna test it out... if only I have C4 Gorou (I only have C0. Welp, gonna settle for the current artifacts I have).
Yea worth mentioning those u wanna make him better as a healer definitely the maiden 4pc will be bis in that particular scenario and also not the 4pc Clam cause it wont be any effective compared to Maiden lol
@@KFCG427 4pc. Clam Set isn't really gonna be a good set for Gorou. He has the same case as Noelle for healing but less flexible than the maid. The Clam Set is really meant for continuous healing characters which are Kokomi and Qiqi. Maiden's Beloved is for healing boost, which are good for characters who don't heal much (and pretty useless for healers that only do overhealing).

Ning is still super strong in non mono geo teams, but yeah I agree a good support for her would be amazing

Farming for 4pcs of good DPS HooD for Itto/Noelle eventually drops free 4pcs of potentially good support stats of HooD for Gorou.
That's just how practical artifact farming goes--so no need to stress yourself if some people think otherwise, I guess.
@@paulobibay2244 it's less practical to AIM for another 4pc set for gorou as opposed to the mindset of not needing to farm it for him. Because I've seen people genuinely stress about getting THREE 4pc husks for gorou itto albedo and prioritize the set and def stat for gorou over energy recharge which I think is more crucial for him.

Probably not but close, the max defense I have gotten is around 3000 with Itto and Albedo with a lot of buffs. So a healing around 2000 may be the best we can get.
You probably would want to use Maiden's Beloved instead of Ocean Hued Clam if your are looking at making a healer Gorou build. The additional incoming healing bonus 4 piece maidens gives would be superior to getting a weak bubble from the 4 piece clam.

I just started playing Genshin a month ago after a friend showed it to me and I immediately fell in love with Gorou, I feel so lucky he was part of the latest banner so I got him super quickly, and I even have him C2 now. He’s so cute, I just cannot not walk around as him all the time. Since I’ve been playing for a while now I’m finally getting into building characters better so this is super helpful! I just equipped him with the Exile set and the Favonius Warbow and I really like it, thank you for this video!
Yo c4 gorou also makes it possible to run 2 piece ocean hued clam or even the 4 piece. Since his healing is not enough with low investment to outheal doggo bleed this really helps.
I tried that, my bubbles are hitting for around 8k but they're consistently so, and almost always gathering between his E and ult. A nice tick of damage, more than he was usually getting with more damaging pieces, and they all had def% on them too so why not.

I'd recommend to give him 2pc ocean hued and 2pc husk for the healing, since his healing (at C4) scales with his def, and the ocean pieces you get wouldn't be too much of a waste if you don't have qiqi or kokomi. You can give him er, def, healing bonus/crit rate depends on whether you have enough crit rate or not. As to why do you need crit rate on him, mr zyox has already explained it in the video so I won't repeat again.

Guys when using itto inside on gorou’s skill or burst you must swap to him first and then pop his burst otherwise gorou’s defense bonus from his skill won’t factor in, his passive that gives all party members a 25% defense bonus will though
How would you use his burst without swapping to him? Are you talking about the ALT + Number to swap and then instantly use Ult? (or just press the icon on mobile)

Yeah you need to wait until that doggy paw symbol is above your character to actually get the field's buff

So technically, my Gorou will never see the light of day since I never use Geo characters other than Zhongli who doesn't even scale off DEF. Too bad, thought I'd be able to use him somehow.

Someday there will probably be someone. If not, you can use him for a def boost on Xinyan, if you use her lol.

I’m thinking about going for an all-out healer build for gorou when I get his c4, maybe 2pc husk and 2pc ocean hued clam? I’d be keeping his def% sands and goblet, but I’d probably have to farm more to maintain his crit rate after I replace the circlet.
Edit: I guess I should put out here that he's going to be on a mono geo team? Zhongli-Albedo-Gorou-Itto, all with some ER substats to generate geo particles. Gorou's ER is already over 180, I'm not worried about not having his burst on cooldown.

If you really wanna go all into healing, then maiden is way better than anything else. As long as you still have enough energy though, but in that team you'll probably be fine.
Whether it's worth it to focus all into healing forgoing a bit of his crit rate and therefore his battery role idk, but probably it is honestly.
Thankyou for including a recommendation for Gorou that wasn't a five-star artifact set... some of us only just started getting both five-star artifacts(and Gorou) by accident😅
Nice guide as always, love the content! But something bugs me a little. Why would Def Goblet be better than Geo Dmg Goblet? Like, him gaining defense only gives him more damage, it doesn't amplifies his buffs. While a Geo Dmg Goblet also just gives him more damage but it's better than Def, specially if you're already running Def in your sands.
It might be because he already gains geo damage bonus with his ascension stat and you can 2 piece petra for even more without losing the def goblet. However that's just a guess on my part
Its because you normally want to run ER sands if you don’t have enough energy from sub stats and Gorou still wants Def so you use a Def goblet instead of geo dmg, otherwise you just don’t have enough Def

Another option for your 3rd Geo - Battery Ningguang with Prototype Amber. Even more team energy, and a good amount of healing.
i used to use ningguang with thrilling tales as a support for my noelle. she generates so much energy that i don't think you need favonius or amber on her, i'd rather have the 400 atk buff

How much can ninnguang heal with prototype amber? I was debating between her and geo traveler for itto battery but geo traveler seems to be better cause c2 ninnguang still has that god awful icd issue on her skill where it doesn’t give you energy particles the second time you use it. Meanwhile geo traveler gives consistent four particles per e with a low cool down (plus sacrifical sword for even more). However Ninnguang has 12% geo damage bonus when you run through her jade screen, but geo traveler has 10% crit rate bonus with his q, so it’s a hard choice.
@@there_vision prototype amber healing is fixed 4% - 6% of their Max HP every 2 seconds for 6 seconds.
tbh, you can use both of them. you can use ningguang as your dedicated healer with Prototype Amber and having the Geo MC as well on your comp. Take note that you should build your Geo MC as damage as well.
and also, if you have C2 Ningguang, you should always do E > Burst > E so you won't get cucked by ICD.

WelI definitely can’t do both cause I gotta have room for gorou, and the last slots gotta be diona for her shield and healing and geo resonance through her shield since crystallize shields aren’t reliable at all (I don’t have zhongli). And with diona healing and shielding I think I’ll just stick with geo traveler at a low investment energy recharge build to battery itto and gorou’s bursts.

Since c4 goes off DEF, would it be better to just use DEF sands and circlet? Or would healing bonus heal more than just more DEF would?
He talks about this around 13:18. Tldw; it can be helpful to use a healing circlet if you have C4 and want to prioritize healing.
More def is less worth than extra pure healing
@@astrokun4718 But think about the fact that you use Gorou in Defense heavy teams, that will receive less damage and will need less healing. This way Gorou frees a slot for you because you don't need an extra healer and you can just put in one more Burst DPS or Damage buffing support
Whether or not it boosts healing more would depend on how much DEF % you have. If you are using a defense goblet, as well as a 2 piece Husk, then you're most likely going to gain more healing from a healing % circlet. On the other hand, if you are using 2 piece Clam, 2 piece Maidens, ER sands, and geo goblet, well, you'd most likely get more from a defense circlet.
It's like crit rate and crit damage, except the optimal ratio you'd be looking for would be about 9% healing bonus to 13 def %. And since def % is much, much easier to get, well, healing bonus is most likely the way to go.
Looking forward to the Ning guide and the teams guide might open my eyes up a lil too!

as a character that will mainly be used exclusively in mono geo teams, it seems like a waste to invest in his ER capabilities when you dont even need that many particles in a mono team.
You basically gain nothing and lose 7k damage from his E that you will spam often.

used "gowou" instead of "gorou".
Since his C4 can heal at a 👌 amount, It reminds me of the *4pc. Maiden's Beloved* set but I think it's pretty niche to use for a healer Gorou.
I wanna test it out... if only I have C4 Gorou (I only have C0. Welp, gonna settle for the current artifacts I have).
Yea worth mentioning those u wanna make him better as a healer definitely the maiden 4pc will be bis in that particular scenario and also not the 4pc Clam cause it wont be any effective compared to Maiden lol
@@KFCG427 4pc. Clam Set isn't really gonna be a good set for Gorou. He has the same case as Noelle for healing but less flexible than the maid. The Clam Set is really meant for continuous healing characters which are Kokomi and Qiqi. Maiden's Beloved is for healing boost, which are good for characters who don't heal much (and pretty useless for healers that only do overhealing).

Good call on the 4 star set. Been saving some badass exile for Barb. I run 4-piece instructor set on Diona for the extra team EM.
instructor also probably BIS for bennet since he's usually used in vape / melt comps anyway. does more for the damage than noblesse.
