What I noticed about Wriothesley is that his jump height tends to be a lot lower than other characters. This is actually a very interesting part of his lore, as Wriothesley runs a hidden bakery within the Fortress of Meropide as indicated by his caked up whoopie cushions. (I am the chair in his office)
Worst, Wriothesley was sandwiched between Furina and Neuvilete who is a broken dps. The people who initially were saving for him probably pulled for the dragon banner instead.

i think my wriothesley is bugged. for some reason when i attack enemies, he starts twerking on them and kills them instantly with the power of his two magnificent cheeks. this makes spiral abyss easier to 36 star which is obviously bad. hope they fix this bug soon
An interesting detail I found about Wriothehsly's healing skill is that you can also heal from hitting certain solid or destructible objects like boxes and the pyro torches from puzzles. A neat way to refill some heath if no enemies are close by.

Charge attack buff stays with him once he gets it, even if you heal him back up to above 60%. You just have to hit 60% once and he gets it permanently until you use it. He dosen't lose the gracious rebuke buff if he hits under 60% and gets healed over 60% from another source after. Edit: Buff dosent even go away even if you swap out of him to someone else.
Also when you don't hit anyone, you can just spam his CA as long as you want. Infinite CA basically. So when you want to start icebridging just nearly kill your Rizz and get to work.

He's so cool, like quite literally. With the cak- i mean kit, understandable how he can make people go har- i mean harassing their wallets to pull for him. (btw tried ice bridging with him with the enhance charged, quite fun, doesn't use stamina... he can also just plunge to the water and freeze it)

I highly recommend C1. It made him my favourite character, right after Neuvillette became my favourite too. Fontaine is look out to be an amazing region for new characters, I really hope Navia is equally exceptional for the sake of Geo.
You don’t have to hover between 50-60%HP to gain the Gracious Rebuke stack. Just dropping below 60% will give you the stack and allow for an empowered CA even if wrio is healed over 60% afterwards
For his normal attack dash cancel, you need to at least enter a single frame into his next attack animation, then dash and you will skip the NA that you just cancelled (eg. if you dash after 1 frame of his 4th NA animation, you will skip the 4th NA string and continue to his 5th). If you dash at the end of a string, it won't let you continue the NA string and just resets. Hope it helps

The animation dash cancel for Wriosthesly is just to dash cancel n4. It's the one that you can dash cancel and still get n5 out. You can also dash cancel it by using his skill

Just because Zy0x asked. Yes Rizzly made me break the year long streak of only pulling waifus. The man is just too cool. So cool he came home in 50 pulls and won the 50/50. What a gigachad. Oh and thanks again Zy0x for saving my cat and giving me that Lambo last Christmas.
I saved up enough to get him C-1 on my own as well as be able to pre-farm a lot of his mats. With some birthday gift money I bought some wishes and happened to get his weapon as well. Now I'm conflicted in saving wishes for a re-run banner, or use them on Xiao or Cyno. I WANT pull out a credit card and get ALL the wishes and use them to get him co C-6, but alas, I would probably hate myself and quit the game as I have with every other game that I spend that much money on in a short amount of time. I digress, I think you did a decent job showing you don't NEED him at C-0. I'm an advocate for that as well, and please keep that up as needed. This is why I dislike meta influencers. I get it, metas will hapen but I always say never take them a 'the way'.

Why the fuck would you be want to spend more than welking moon on this game? THERE'S NO CONTENT TO USE THE CHARACTERS. At c0 you can do and will do th same content as a c6. i would recomend waiting and getting furina because shes his best teammate and will honeslty probably increase his damage more than having him at c6 without her (i dont know for sure but its looking like that from leaks)
What I accidentally noticed was that Wriothesley runs pretty well in burn teams. Like, for one specific boss I randomly paired him with nahida, Bennet and xiangling and decided to use that comp while playing normally and I realised how well it works. You receive a constant burn-melt combo and burn's damage depends on your nahida. However, there's 1 huge problem: Wriothesley burns himself and his hp starts draining like crazy. I recommend replacing bennet with thoma or another shielder to use him without getting him killed off. Overall, I'll say-- If you have Nahida fully built, you can try this comp out against normal enemies. Any tips on how to make this team more efficient?
The reason the combo breaks is due to wriothesley starting his walking animation which will reset your combo no matter what so don't hold a direction until you want to dash. As an example, you can start your NA combo, dash to dodge or reposition then use his skill to dash back in and continue the combo.

I think Lost prayer will be really good for a solo run since you can get the full 4 stacks of elemental damage buff (32 percent at R1 and 64 at R5). I was able to solo the 2nd half of abyss 12 with neuvillette today and I'm planning to do an abyss 12 run with solo wrio in 1st half and solo neuvi in 2nd half (Once I get wriothesley). In a melt team with kazuha, bennett and xiangling i would only be able to get a maximum of 2 useful stacks on lost prayer tho.
Hello Mr. Socks, when you display the weapon ranking, can you add the optimal stats, too? Like how much attack (or hp), crit rate and crit damage are assumed to reach that "optimal number", that way we will have general direction in building the character thank you

Spent 500 pulls for him bc Hoyo decided that I should get every thing at 70 pity. Got 2 of Venti’s weapon both at 69, got his sign at 66, got him at 81, before losing the 50/50 to Diluc at 78. And finally getting his C1 around 74 pity. Sometime I just wish whoever made this game to get diarrhea for the next 7 years. So, I did what any Rizzley wanters do after getting his C1. Which is to solo every boss that aren’t immune to Cryo damage. So, after beating Raiden many times, I have to say Rizzley is canonically a professional wifebeater. Nice.
Also you can use wanderer's troupe set if you're using melt comp. My C0 Rizzley melts 55-60k with his charged atks with talent level 6 on normal and skill. Lost prayer as weapon.
I have an unusual suggestion for those who it may apply to: c6 Diona and kazuha Her burst grants 200 EM which Kazuha can snapshot onto his burst, and essentially gain a budget version of his c2, while swirling cryo to instantly boost Wriothesley's cryo dmg bonus to c2 kazuha levels
Kazuha can't snapshot EM for swirls. EM can only be snapshot for melt/vape. So when you leave the field and his burst ticks, his buff gets refreshed without the 200 EM buff

Regarding the reseting of his combo. Indeed it is inconsistent, depending on what attack of the string you dash sometimes the combo gets reset regardless.
Its like.. Theres only 2 things Neuvilette gets from C1 - interruption resistance - (damage) always starts with 1 draconic stack But theres 3 for Wriothesley - no more below 60% healing restriction - (damage) extra 200% for charge attack - skill duration extended Hmmm..Hoyoverse..you might need to transfer that healing restriction into his passive instead🤔..I mean, Neuvilette can heal anytime so why not Wriothesley.. Some people might say "Oh they made him mid but who cares Archon is coming".. But its actually "Archon is coming?..okay lets make you pull until C1 for Wriothesley before that" 🤣

Now why do they specifically dislike that I follow your guides? Their reasoning was that you play Xiao and "called Raiden meh" on time on stream. I haven't seen any guide mention Dodoco Tales for Wriothesley. I mean at R5 you get 32% CA just from doing NAs and you get 16% ATK from doing CAs. Seems really synergistic with his playstyle.

I get there are other cryo DPS but in a wrio but I don't think you need to mention he's not the only cry DPS that can be used in one of the best melt teams. . . when this is a guide about him.
I find that when I run Barbara with Wriothesley, he still gets his buff after doing a certain amount of damage that would bring him below 60%hp despite being at full hp. You see it when you’re at full hp and still have the aura that demonstrates the buff is active.
Gnna skip. But I'll try to get him on his next rerun. I don't have enough primos after Neuvillette and Homa. I mean, I could get him now but I won't be getting Furina if I do. So I'll go for Furina this time.

If anyone is looking for a sure answer whether to pull him or not, from my POV you should get him, mine is currently at lvl 80 and I have never got consistent 5-6k normal damage and if you have above 50% crit rate then omg he can do around 20k damage. Even stronger than my raiden. I absolutely love him. Also his artifact set is great as we can get a crit rate boost which is lovely. Just stack crit damage and you will smash the enemies.

Wait a moment: hypothetically if you play him in freeze he‘ll have this much crit rate: -5% base -40% from blizzard strayer -15% from cryo resonance -22.1% from signature -10% from c6 -(if you play rosaria) up to 15% from rosaria Like this he has 107.1% crit rate without any substats… I can’t!!! Why does his signature give him crit rate and not crit dmg!!!!!
Because Rosaria is probably not the most optimal in freeze anyway as if you’re assuming C6 Wrio you’ll probably have invested in shenhe and kazuha as well in which case you want a hydro 4th slot and no room for Rosaria. So realistically In this team set up you’ll have 92% crit rate, which sounds great, and his ascension stat plus crit dmg circlet means you’ll have 154% CD not counting substats, so if you just invest all your artifacts into crit damage you can have easily 90-100 CR over 250+ CD even with a crit rate weapon.
@@rvpairofdicethewanderer2383 agreed. this is what i'd do even with a freeze team. you only lose 4% CR, but your artifact set will still work against any one off enemies that cant be frozen. a no brainer tradeoff imo
@@GT-xw7rg It's Impossible to have a good set without any crit stats. even if you use maréchaussée and no rosaria you're still at 88% crit rate and the average crit dmg circlet has around 12% crit rate. The only good stat is crit dmg cuz you have shenhe who gives you an insane atk% buff (c6 shenhe exspecialy).
as an f2p player and who really really enjoys playing him, ive been grinding all of the available world quests and chests in fontaine as fast as i can just so i can have more primos to pull for him, unfortunately i still dont have his c1 😢
@@buttercup86900 yeah they usually give newer characters a rerun during the same region patch, example: they gave cyno a rerun just a couple of patches after his debut so im guessing neuvie and wrio will get one before end of fontaine
I do feel flowing purity R5 is better than ballad cuz it has ark% sub stats, but the bond of life thing is annoying, u need high heal healer to combat that other wise u just get the 16% dmg bonus
For highest/consistent damage: R5 FP > R5 BoB > R5 Widsith (Flowing Purity needs a healer, minimum 25k max HP, and it's better with C1) For ease of use: R5 BoB (make sure energy recharge is 120-140) :)

I'm building Wriothesley as a glass cannon, I just keep Barbera for healing and have him go to town on groups with little effort, I'm not into the meta or anything, but I have a fair bit of knowledge on how the game works, and so far hes pretty damn good, my wife has been playing probably a year and a half longer than me (I started in mid October) and she said I defeat the robot enemies with him faster than she does

The animation dash cancel for Wriosthesly is just to dash cancel n4. It's the one that you can dash cancel and still get n5 out. You can also dash cancel it by using his skill

What a cruel world.

What's crazy is just like Neuvilette, Furina is the most viable and best support for Rizzley since she boosts all Fontanians. But he is sandwiched between these 2 big banners.

I saved up enough to get him C-1 on my own as well as be able to pre-farm a lot of his mats. With some birthday gift money I bought some wishes and happened to get his weapon as well. Now I'm conflicted in saving wishes for a re-run banner, or use them on Xiao or Cyno. I WANT pull out a credit card and get ALL the wishes and use them to get him co C-6, but alas, I would probably hate myself and quit the game as I have with every other game that I spend that much money on in a short amount of time. I digress, I think you did a decent job showing you don't NEED him at C-0. I'm an advocate for that as well, and please keep that up as needed. This is why I dislike meta influencers. I get it, metas will hapen but I always say never take them a 'the way'.
Sorry but the problem is not the influencers here. It's your lack of self control especially when it comes to genhshin impact. Why the fuck would you be want to spend more than welking moon on this game? THERE'S NO CONTENT TO USE THE CHARACTERS. At c0 you can do and will do th same content as a c6. There's literally nothing to do. Stop being dumb and waste money for no reason.
Save your money buy yourself something nice in real life instead of giving it away for no reason.

i would recomend waiting and getting furina because shes his best teammate and will honeslty probably increase his damage more than having him at c6 without her (i dont know for sure but its looking like that from leaks)

What I accidentally noticed was that Wriothesley runs pretty well in burn teams. Like, for one specific boss I randomly paired him with nahida, Bennet and xiangling and decided to use that comp while playing normally and I realised how well it works. You receive a constant burn-melt combo and burn's damage depends on your nahida. However, there's 1 huge problem: Wriothesley burns himself and his hp starts draining like crazy. I recommend replacing bennet with thoma or another shielder to use him without getting him killed off. Overall, I'll say-- If you have Nahida fully built, you can try this comp out against normal enemies. Any tips on how to make this team more efficient?
The reason the combo breaks is due to wriothesley starting his walking animation which will reset your combo no matter what so don't hold a direction until you want to dash. As an example, you can start your NA combo, dash to dodge or reposition then use his skill to dash back in and continue the combo.

I think Lost prayer will be really good for a solo run since you can get the full 4 stacks of elemental damage buff (32 percent at R1 and 64 at R5). I was able to solo the 2nd half of abyss 12 with neuvillette today and I'm planning to do an abyss 12 run with solo wrio in 1st half and solo neuvi in 2nd half (Once I get wriothesley). In a melt team with kazuha, bennett and xiangling i would only be able to get a maximum of 2 useful stacks on lost prayer tho.

Hello Mr. Socks, when you display the weapon ranking, can you add the optimal stats, too? Like how much attack (or hp), crit rate and crit damage are assumed to reach that "optimal number", that way we will have general direction in building the character

Spent 500 pulls for him bc Hoyo decided that I should get every thing at 70 pity. Got 2 of Venti’s weapon both at 69, got his sign at 66, got him at 81, before losing the 50/50 to Diluc at 78. And finally getting his C1 around 74 pity.
Sometime I just wish whoever made this game to get diarrhea for the next 7 years.
So, I did what any Rizzley wanters do after getting his C1. Which is to solo every boss that aren’t immune to Cryo damage. So, after beating Raiden many times, I have to say Rizzley is canonically a professional wifebeater. Nice.

Also you can use wanderer's troupe set if you're using melt comp. My C0 Rizzley melts 55-60k with his charged atks with talent level 6 on normal and skill. Lost prayer as weapon.
I have an unusual suggestion for those who it may apply to: c6 Diona and kazuha
Her burst grants 200 EM which Kazuha can snapshot onto his burst, and essentially gain a budget version of his c2, while swirling cryo to instantly boost Wriothesley's cryo dmg bonus to c2 kazuha levels
Kazuha can't snapshot EM for swirls. EM can only be snapshot for melt/vape. So when you leave the field and his burst ticks, his buff gets refreshed without the 200 EM buff

Regarding the reseting of his combo. Indeed it is inconsistent, depending on what attack of the string you dash sometimes the combo gets reset regardless.

- (damage) always starts with 1 draconic stack
But theres 3 for Wriothesley
- no more below 60% healing restriction
- (damage) extra 200% for charge attack
- skill duration extended

Hello Mr.Socks, as always thank you for this very informative guide, now with my gratitude out of the way I have some beef with you; while in coop the other day I let it slip that I used guides to help build my characters, the other person started saying that most guide makers dont know anything about Genshin which I disagreed with and when they asked me who I watch and I said you, I GOT CALLED AN NPC. Now why do they specifically dislike that I follow your guides? Their reasoning was that you play Xiao and "called Raiden meh" on time on stream. So here's my beef; I think you didnt slander Raiden enough because my god was it funny to have someone in game lose their mind over you (in a hater way and not 'oh you watch Zy0x too? I watch him regularly!' as it usually happens) anyway hope you see this comment and it makes you laugh cause it sure made me

I haven't seen any guide mention Dodoco Tales for Wriothesley. I mean at R5 you get 32% CA just from doing NAs and you get 16% ATK from doing CAs. Seems really synergistic with his playstyle.
I like how this is a guide about Wriosthesley and you say that Wrothesley is somewhat replaceable in the melt team. . . I get there are other cryo DPS but in a wrio but I don't think you need to mention he's not the only cry DPS that can be used in one of the best melt teams. . . when this is a guide about him.
I find that when I run Barbara with Wriothesley, he still gets his buff after doing a certain amount of damage that would bring him below 60%hp despite being at full hp. You see it when you’re at full hp and still have the aura that demonstrates the buff is active.

If anyone is looking for a sure answer whether to pull him or not, from my POV you should get him, mine is currently at lvl 80 and I have never got consistent 5-6k normal damage and if you have above 50% crit rate then omg he can do around 20k damage. Even stronger than my raiden. I absolutely love him. Also his artifact set is great as we can get a crit rate boost which is lovely. Just stack crit damage and you will smash the enemies.

Wait a moment: hypothetically if you play him in freeze he‘ll have this much crit rate:
-5% base
-40% from blizzard strayer
-15% from cryo resonance
-22.1% from signature
-10% from c6
-(if you play rosaria) up to 15% from rosaria
Like this he has 107.1% crit rate without any substats… I can’t!!! Why does his signature give him crit rate and not crit dmg!!!!!

Because Rosaria is probably not the most optimal in freeze anyway as if you’re assuming C6 Wrio you’ll probably have invested in shenhe and kazuha as well in which case you want a hydro 4th slot and no room for Rosaria.
So realistically In this team set up you’ll have 92% crit rate, which sounds great, and his ascension stat plus crit dmg circlet means you’ll have 154% CD not counting substats, so if you just invest all your artifacts into crit damage you can have easily 90-100 CR over 250+ CD even with a crit rate weapon.
Blizzard Strayer?
Why not use Marechausse Hunter?
Wriothesley has HP Loss-and-Gain Mechanic.
@@rvpairofdicethewanderer2383 agreed. this is what i'd do even with a freeze team. you only lose 4% CR, but your artifact set will still work against any one off enemies that cant be frozen. a no brainer tradeoff imo
@@GT-xw7rg It's Impossible to have a good set without any crit stats. even if you use maréchaussée and no rosaria you're still at 88% crit rate and the average crit dmg circlet has around 12% crit rate. The only good stat is crit dmg cuz you have shenhe who gives you an insane atk% buff (c6 shenhe exspecialy).
as an f2p player and who really really enjoys playing him, ive been grinding all of the available world quests and chests in fontaine as fast as i can just so i can have more primos to pull for him, unfortunately i still dont have his c1 😢

I can't choose between Widsith Flowing Purity and Ballad of the Blue to choose as his weapon
I do feel flowing purity R5 is better than ballad cuz it has ark% sub stats, but the bond of life thing is annoying, u need high heal healer to combat that other wise u just get the 16% dmg bonus
For highest/consistent damage:
R5 FP > R5 BoB > R5 Widsith
(Flowing Purity needs a healer, minimum 25k max HP, and it's better with C1)
For ease of use: R5 BoB (make sure energy recharge is 120-140)

I'm building Wriothesley as a glass cannon, I just keep Barbera for healing and have him go to town on groups with little effort, I'm not into the meta or anything, but I have a fair bit of knowledge on how the game works, and so far hes pretty damn good, my wife has been playing probably a year and a half longer than me (I started in mid October) and she said I defeat the robot enemies with him faster than she does
