I LOVE that someone is talking louder about the Joy's of children and motherhood instead of the negative aspects. It's nice for expecting moms to actually hear the uplifting parts💕

Yes!!! I remember when I was pregnant I only heard the negatives and the “wait til she.....” Now my baby is close to a year old and still that’s what I hear “your home is gonna be messy with toys” “oh let’s see what you have to move around your home because she’s gonna want to break everything “ I’m like really? Ugh

Aaaww! Maybe it’s because they know hard days will also come and they don’t want you to feel alone? Or they just complain too much? 🤣 There are very hard days but I LOVE motherhood. My little boy is 17 months and it’s been the best part of my life by far.

@@adrianal3al when I told my friends that me and my partner want to start a family they were the same. "Oh you will never sleep again, your house will be a mess....wait until this and that happens. Not sure if they want sympathy for their struggle or think that I'm stupid or naive, but it's a disheartening thing to do. Loved this video so much because it highlighted good things about being a parent.

I don’t have any children but this whole video had me fighting back tears. This is exactly why I know with every fiber of my being that my calling in life is to be a mother. While it breaks my heart that it hasn’t happened yet I know that children will come into my life at the exact moment they are destined to.

I was there girl! My husband, after we were married, changed his mind and didn't think he wanted kids. I've known since childhood that raising and caring for a family was all I wanted. I tried to accept that my life could be without children and i couldn't so we rarely talked about it. After 5 years of trying to accept what he wanted, I went to a job interview and they asked where I saw myself in 5 years and i said without thinking that I wanted to be home with my children and homeschool them. Obviously didn't get the job but it really put into perspective that I did know what my role was in this world and what I wanted in my heart more than anything. So I laid out my 5 year plan to make having kids financially possible and I shared that with my husband. And I knew I couldn't convince him because this desire was a feeling that you can't logically convince someone if. So I gave it to God and I asked a few friends to be praying with me. I prayed everyday that He would open my husband's heart to understand this feeling. I prayed God would put a burning passion in his heart to use his talents to glorify God. And I asked God to use me however I could be used to shine His light to the world. Within a few months everything came together and he really had a change of heart. I can't even express how happy I was when he told me he wants kids now. It's been about 1.5 years since then and our little girl should be arriving any day now.
Take heart, be patient, and protest to God everyday. He is loving and as I reminded myself when I felt low and doubtful that things would change: I know this is what I was made for. This is the strongest desire in my heart. I will be dutiful and faithful to God and his commandments he has asked of me. He wants good for me and loves me more than I can comprehend. He will not leave me barren. Even if I'm as old as Sarah, God will bless my womb.

Jessica McElroy I had a similar talk to my SO right before we got engaged. He was terrified of having kids cus he didn’t want to be a bad dad and mess then up like so many do. He didn’t realize that the level of care and concern he had for providing a wonderful life to a child was proof that he wouldn’t be a screw up. I have accepted that if biological children are not in our plan that we will adopt. He was adopted so he fully understands that decision. I’m so happy to hear you have been blessed and your baby girl will bring so much light into your life.

My children won’t remember my weight, my messy hair days, if I accidentally burnt dinner, or the days I’m a little grouchier than I should’ve been... They will remember that mommy told the best stories. That no matter what, I was always there! That cuddle time was my favorite. ❤️ We were made for our babies, and they for us.

Yes, this one is so true!!! For them and for us!! I have only had one chunk of a few months of solid sleep in the last 4 years! That was between my kids when my eldest slept through at 9-14 months. That was it and he started not sleeping again, then enter baby number two who has slept only a few nights in his 2 years, which always coincided with bad dreams from the other.

Thank you for this. I was so scared when I found out I was pregnant. Around that time a person who matters so much to me said that I would never be able to raise someone. That broke me in infinite pieces. A month later I was pregnant. And 22 yrs old, in a serious and stable relationship, which helped me so much through it all. I found your channel months ago and thanks to you I switched my perspective to one of excitement, connection, love. I'm due in 9 weeks, my father is the pediatrician. I'm so thankful to God for this opportunity to be a mom. I don't think my life could've gone any better than this. I send you so much love and all my gratitude because you helped me heal deep wounds. I had my baby at 22 (I'm only 23 now) and now he's 6 months old. It goes by so fast and you're are going to have such a wonderful time! Being in our early 20's means we generally have more energy to play with them which is a blessing! You will be an amazing mother and I can't wait for you to meet your little love ❤

I’m really sorry they said that. People can change so much that there’s never a reason to think someone CANT be a parent. And often the turning point is a child for so many people. And most likely you didn’t earn that comment in any of your behavior anyway, people can be so harsh. 😭

I'm just 17 and nowhere close to this but I love how you think you're a mom even as you're pregnant....a lot of women will say 'I'm going to be a mom' and somehow I feel that tampers with our mentality and makes the baby a lot less significant in terms of someone who's not ready and considering aborting. Love your positivity ❣️

What a precious gift you have in learning these things so early on. My youngest of 3 is going to be 16 this year, the other 2 are married and out of the house. I look around and am shocked to see just how quickly time has flown by and how I wish I would have taken more time to soak in every last second of their childhood.

Thank you so much! It was such a heart melting video. I got so emotional remembering everything what my kid taught me.
My little one also taught me not to be such a perfectionist, which I was for many years. Now always say to myself "It is ok that not everything Ideally laying on its places. It is ok not to have ideal always clean house. It is ok not to have ideally fold or ideally ironed clothing and etc." That is huge for me. Also, he taught me to relax sometimes and some days maybe not to be productive at all.

I just feel like I'm not cut out to be a mom some days. This video came at the right time and has shown me how I need to change my perspective, truly!
I got absolutely emotional so many times watching this. Because all the while I'm fuming about something she did and her reaping the percussions of it. It takes her less than no time to forget, forgive and be kind.
My child is constantly teaching me forgiveness, grace and kindness. Something that is so fundamental in all of our lives that I forget to give myself too often.
I'm sorry for the long post! But thank you so much for sharing this!! It was God sent and I hope he continues to bless you all and help you grow into a closer and stronger family no matter the circumstances. 💛💛

I'm 41w+5d with my girl and our first and she has already taught me a couple big lessons: patience and that you can't always control how things work out, some things are out of our hands. I had all these dates and things in my head of when I would like her to come or what days I didn't want her to come for the past month. Her going over her due date by almost 2 weeks has taught me to be patient and wait, and that there is no sense worrying about things that are out of my control. It's not about me or what I would prefer. I can't wait to learn so many more lessons from her.

By far my favorite video of you.
    I love your honesty.
You mentioned your sensitiveness for self-image and how seeing Eloise being proudly herself, resonates to that struggle. Can you maybe make a video about this self-image theme?
Thanks for sharing with us a glanse of your life. Surely, it's just a part of it, but it's meaningful.

I really needed this video. Sometimes (okay all the time) it's nice hearing other moms experiences and giving tips/ideas to be better moms. It motivates me to want to be better or try more on the days I feel like I can't. It's like watching work out videos and wanting to work out to get your goal. But this is mommy goals.

I love this!! It is so easy to think about the negative things with having kid(s).
It’s refreshing to hear positive thoughts
about what our kid(s) do teach us. I needed to hear this.

I need this reminder right now. I am currently on my 1st trimester for my 2n baby and I feel overwhelmed because I work from home and takes care of my toddler. I am tired all the time... but I am thankful that I am blessed to have children. I am excited to see my 2nd one and the bond they will form.

Delilah, I have been crazy watching all your videos for the last few months. It has replaced my series and downtime activities as your content brings me so much joy and adds such value to my life and this new season I am in of being a new mom. You have taught me alot and shine your light so bright that all the world can see God's love and beauty in your precious family! This is the first I am ever commenting on RUclips and I had to because this video just touched me and opened my eyes so much! Thank you for the constant life lessons, for sharing, being real, and being my favourite passtime, even quickly watching a video while I pump:D You are doing an amazing job as a child of God, a wife, a mom, and an inspiration to us out here even all the way in South Africa. Much love and praying God's greatest blessing, properity and joy over you and your family now and always! Thank you again!

Awww! I just love this video. Among other things and like your kids, my kid have taught me to slow down a little bit and enjoy the little things. Take time to play with him and time to do nothing.

This is such a beautiful video. I was so on the fence and scared of having kids for the longest time. But I realized that I was only focusing on fear, my childhood, and what was making me afraid, but not enough on what is beautiful, how much I and they can provide, and all the amazing things about being a parent and raising the next generation!

Watched this video twice because it was so awesome. Your voice and wise words are a breath of fresh air. You are seriously so calming to listen to. And to be young with that amount of wisdom, I am truly happy for you and have learned from you. Also, seeing you get so emotional really makes your message that much stronger. It's easy to get caught up in cleaning and cooking and routines and what day it is - that we forget all the amazing, beautiful things about kids. Thank you so much for this video - every word rang true. You brought such a perfect perspective to motherhood, marriage and family.
