FILM DESCRIPTION:
Disillusioned knight Bowen (Dennis Quaid) befriends Draco (Sean Connery), the last of the dragons, and the two begin scamming village folk as Bowen repeatedly "kills" Draco for money. Bowen soon learns that Draco is the same dragon who once saved his former student, now King Einon (David Thewlis), from death by giving him a piece of his heart. Einon is now a merciless tyrant, and Bowen is compelled to stop him -- but the bond between king and dragon means if one dies, the other does as well.

Today in Italy we are crying for the loss of an amazing and beloved actor, Gigi Proietti. His voice was our Draco. It's unbelievable that he and Sir Connery are gone in a matter of days.

Oh man. When I was a kid this movie was every emotion you could feel in one. Such a great movie. I went from scared to laughing to excited to crying tears of joy. This movie makes me so happy lol. “To the stars” 😭❤️

I genuinely wouldn't mind a remake, preferably following the real screenplay and the novel written by Patrick Read Johnson and Charles Edward Pogue. Universal kinda Screwed up the plot and the lore and turned everything into a sort of family movie. It's not a bad movie, mind you, it's my childhood and I'll always love as it is, but again, a faithful, way more mature and complex remake (as the actual novel is from which is based on) would be awesome.

This part was the only thing I remembered when I first watched it with my family. I do remember when then other stars began to gather around Draco I asked my parents what was happening, my mom answered “The other dragons are welcoming him.”

Draco dying was sad, but it was even more beautiful seeing him join his brothers and sisters in the stars. He became a beacon of hope for eternity.
I wish it didn’t have to come to this. But this is what Draco wished to be: to be with his kind in the stars 😭
Ironically his noble deed became his sin, by giving his heart to a evil boy who grew to become an evil man who’s evilness rivaled his own father’s.
So by taking an axe to the chest he took the evil king with him. Stating “if I must die so that evil will not spread. Than so be it.”

The 90s era was one of the most beautiful ones. Nowadays I just feel regret for not being born 10yrs earlier. I don't really worry about technology as it only makes lives lazier and Nowadays even art is made to make profits. There is no longer an appreciation for true art. A situation similar to my quote would be how cardi b and nicki minaj songs are in the top 10s which are quite frankly the worst songs i have ever listened to(even worse than friday or even baby), when there are beautiful songs made by unknown artists which are far better and with heart and soul.
There's good stuff, just less than before and not necessarily in movie industry. It's not a bad time we live in, it's just that we were lucky to see the death of a cinema and prime of corporate story telling. But do not be sad, because after bad times, good are ahead. After all, Draco's star still there, with humanity.

What I loved most about Draco is that he was an actual character.
He wasn’t some hero’s scaly horse or an evil obstacle that needed to be destroyed.
He was a wise, brave, flawed and compassionate soul that just happened to be a dragon.
