The first tip about RTH altitude is very important and I needed this some time ago. My drone crashed into a building after loosing signal and RTH was activated. During my test flights I flew in an open area and never adjusted altitude when I went into an industrial area with high buildings... oops!
Another tip...if you plan to buy this drone and have an android phone, check first to see if the app will download to your phone...if it does not, it is incompatible with DJI Fly software. DJI released a 64 bit app for android only and many android phones are not compatible. Not a problem with the iphone.
Nice video mike, is there more to finding my drone on the system ? Can you not bring up a map that shows the location or roughly where the drone is? Then use the map to get close to the site before using the sound location, also is there any special flights that the mini cN do like follow me or track? that would be a great help to beginners maybe, just a thought Mike ! Hey Mike, Thanks for the tip on the exposure I am going to try that. To better shoot videos and pictures I am trying to setup my tablet. Have you tried to use the dji fly app on either a Samsung Tab 4 or Amazon Fire HD? I have not been able to get either to work. Can you suggest any tricks there?
I'm trying to figure if you take off from the edge of a cliff is it considered the ground cause in flight the drone sensors would be reading the ground (bottom of the cliff) and not where you standing so I was wondering how would that rth work and how would you set it..
Werner Ramault no I don’t believe the Mavic Mini has any obstacle avoidance, on any other drone you just go into the setting and turn off the obstacle avoidance
I have used gaffer's tape to tape off the bottom sensors. Also have turned the GPS off but being so light weight got a lot of drifting. Harder to stabilise the drone with it off.
@@JordanHandwerker it has sensors on the bottom , it won't let you go too low , if you put your hand under the drone it will rise as the sensor detects that the drone is too low , it can make that car shot very challenging unless you tape it up
Aum Pandya I have a spark you can fly it through things too the sensors aren’t going to raise the height like you think but if it makes you feel better then just tape them up

Can I use any micro-usb to lightning cable with the controller? I'm thinking of using an iPad while flying at times, I do have a Galaxy S9 I can use though.
Hi and thanks for the video! I have ordered my Mavic Mini and can't wait until I get it. The unfortunate part is they screwed up on the delivery and I really wonder if it will ever come. And payed in full!! But I have a question for you and have not seen the answer in the 10,000 videos I have looked at. :) The camera can be moved up and down from the wheel on the controller at the top left but how do you turn the camera left and right? Or do you just move the drone left and right? Thanks again for the video, some good points.

Although I don't have my first ever drone, the mini, yet (ordered beginning of decembre, with a 22-28 shipping days), I am happy to dive into the system through your great tutor-arials ;-) You asked: I would be very interested in, how a handle the flying radius? Here in Germany are soooooo many rules and regulation about not getting to close to rivers, buildings, etc. Already downloaded a nice german flight safety app. There i can see a map and can asked if I am allowed to fly the drone in thet area. I can set hight, and radius, and than it gives me and go or a no-go. BUT how does the dji fly app works with that? Does it show me a exact flying radius from my remote postion? Or will it warn me everytime i am to close to the no-go regulations? It is a bit complex to fly in europe. Every country sets a bit different rules. Could you recommend a worldwide workin app for that cas of regulations? Anyway, thanks for great content. Keep it on! Cant wait to join the drone club and find spots to fly in between all this forbidden zones here in germany ;-) But think its worth it. BTW, curious as well a lot, how i can fly the mini more in a fpv sportish way? I know it has its fpv mode where the camera tilds. But how far can you take the action in sport mode and fpv to receive action footage? Only for experienced pilots? Nice challenge! - Sorry for loooong post here. STOP! CHEERS!
I recommend using an actual fpv drone because the mini is simply not made for that. In my opinion, it is way to slow and doesn't really "dive" for a true fpv experience. I own a mini but not an fpv drone so I believe you should watch a video specifically on this topic.
Duck Thanks for your reply. Yes, I thought so. But I was just wondering how far could you take the mini to achieve a similar feeling/ footage. Sure it’s not at all a racing fpv. But would be interesting to try. Maybe try to dive with sport mode while lowering fast the altitude while dropping/tilting the cam gimbal downwards. And than speeding up the footage in post. Complicated workaround for sure. But just interesting how far we could take the „mass market“ for everybody drone. Cheers

i am taking mine back to BEST BUY for a Refund. I have to buy a 800.00 phone just to use it. i have been in touch with DJI and they said their dji fly app ware has a glitch as soon as it want to show up. i really wanted this drone to work, but NO thanks

Regarding the app, you can check DroneMate. It has regulations for many countries.
