    After performing sudo nala fetch, you should type 1 2 3 ... 10 to keep top 10 mirrors instead of just typing 10

    3:43 Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't you use "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10" instead to keep the top 10? It looks like you're only keeping the 10th mirror.

      use 1..10 to select the top 10

      @@riccgm Well it doesn't say that. It says "Mirrors you want to keep, separated by space or comma", so 10 should only be 10 then.

    Installed 24.04 and followed your tutorial to the letter
    rebooted my machine and desktop was blank - never to seen again :)
    ps, have since deleted the partition to start-over

      Turn off your PC, and turn on to boot into BIOS Settings. Set your boot manager to windows 11 .. and save the changes and restart your PC.

    "Snap pack take more disk space " is also misleading, flatpak use more than snap in fact. 😂

      Even better: none of them actually use much, only a few first times until necessary application dependencies are pulled. After that, no more large installs.

      @@SparrowGerman Ubuntu, just like the other ones, is a very fine distribution. While it definitely delivers Snap, it's still Linux and always will be. Someone doesn't like it? Well, the user can always permanently get rid of Snap-anything. But Ubuntu as a distro itself is a fine experience overall, well supported and friendly to install for many.
      I like how Ubuntu is currently, I like it as much as I do Fedora WS, or openSUSE TW or LMDE with Cinnamon. All fine for different tastes.
      People tend to do a lot of drama about nothing regarding Ubuntu and Snaps, mostly parroting FUD.

    Today I had time to try some of your tips.
    Tried installing Chrome through gdebi and it didn't work, as there was a dependency not installed or too old (libglib2) and the button in gdebi was greyed out.
    Needed to use the terminal and dpkg from another tutorial.

      Its because of New Ubuntu ,, GDEBI is having issues.
      Alternatively to install deb through command:
      Open terminal navigate to the file location using CD: then type
      *sudo dpkg -I PACKGE_NAME.deb *

    Sudo nala fetch... For selection/ fetching top mirrors... Can we roll back what we have selected...? and how..? Coz its getting slow, it seems

      try again:
      *sudo nala fetch*
      and choose the fastest mirrors.. Otherwise use good old apt..

    Ubuntu doesn't show what display drivers -setup gpu driver
    I run neofetch there are 2 displays cards- intel and ATI radeon. Which one is actually used by the system ?

      iGPU will be used for Display and minor GPU related tasks.
      and heavy load will be handled by AMD ..
      install this package:
      *sudo apt install amdtop*
      and monitor the GPU usage by running this command.

      100%.. Just replace APT with Nala anywhere you want.
      *sudo nala update*
      *sudo nala upgrade*
      *sudo nala install PACKAGE_NAME*
      the backend for NALA is APT / DPKG but it brings some improvements.

      Force turn off the PC> Boot into Windows 11, recreate a bootable USB with Rufus 4.5.. Make sure the USB drive is connected USB port 2.0 and Disable Bit locker if enabled. and try again to install ubuntu.

    I've installed this version of ubuntu but now i am facing issue , when i am closing my laptops lid my laptop is not locking, screen is always on , sometimes it is getting locked and sometimes not ! Earlier i had Jammy Jellyfish in that it was working fine ! Can someone please help.

    for some reason on new ubuntu lots of older games on steam run very slowly(unplayable) and new ones work fine and can't find how to fix (prob have to do something with nvidia gpu) don't have same problem with pop_os

      I had that issue on 22.04, I installed almost everything that pop os had and I used the .deb to install steam and it worked, I don’t know if it was one or the other but it worked

      Yes it works smooth on my computer. My Nvidia driver version is 535.

    do not install nala your mirrors will never be same before. you will start getting error while updating or installing some file with some mirror ubable to fetch. you will have to run the nala fetch and change the mirrors that are giving errors and the mirrors that gave error before. so do not use nala at all

      Open the Ubuntu Pro tab
      Click the Enable Ubuntu Pro button
      Copy and paste the token into add token manually

    Compared to Ubuntu 22, I noticed that, for no apparent reason, Ubuntu 24 crashes, freezing. I have laptop with a rtx (nvidea). A lot using Blender, but even Firefox. Could this be Wayland? I'm new to Linux. I went back to 22, but I'm considering going back to Windows.

      Ubuntu or KUbuntu both are some.
      Ubuntu uses GNOME
      KUBUNTU use Plasma desktop

    Hello. Thanks for the video. What must one do if while installing nala, the error at the bottom is as E: Unable to fetch some archives or E: Failed to fetch. If anybody knows this, please reply, it will be helpful.

      try *sudo nala fetch* and use all mirrors. Then
      sudo nala update
      Note: You can always use APT as usual.

    I just installed 24.04. I tried few setting but can't seem to make the font-size and icons bigger.
    If I increase the scale to greater than 100% all things get a bit blurry. I increased the font-size to large but still the text is small. If I do it with tweaks then only the text gets bigger and icons and all remain small. And because the search input and icons are smaller my text out of them. Can someone please help me?

      Do one thing head over to settings - accessibility - seeing and enable large text.

      @@kskroyaltech if you want to give away security and privacy just use windows. But when you use linux you don't give away the most important part of your operating system to a 3rd party.
