The overlay of Ted during the intro was so appropriate. Sure his methods weren't quite acceptable, but what he said and believed would happen has come true.
Great video! As a long-time Linux user and having tried several distros, I agree with everything you said! Wubuntu seems quite sneaky with it's whole history, naming it Wubuntu (making it sound like Ubuntu, I cringe), and the way they pre-package software without permission, not to mention it is probably harder to properly update and easier to break over time (with dependencies, etc). My main desktop is Ubuntu Studio since it comes with a lot of the audio/video/publishing apps I use out-of-the-box, but I have had no issues with other distros just installing everything myself. Personally I cannot stand Windows and when I have a chance to show other people how easy Linux can be, I would much rather show them something that specifically *DOES NOT* look like Windows. The interface and look is not that hard to learn, seriously, my kids use it! It is more difficult getting in to a new car these days and learning the interface! Great job on letting people know about this shady "Wubuntu" distro and I hope the developer changes the name sooner rather than later because it certainly does not belong in the company of any of the official Ubuntu-authorized distro variations and is misleading!
I'm sad that this distro came from my country, Brazil. The most absurd part? I have seen A LOT of folks on the Brazilian side of RUclips PRAISING this distro and saying that they like it. It's absolutely crazy.
Only after experiencing workplace terminals connected to whatever (CNC or servers for example), do you realize the reason behind the name "personal computer"
Ehhhh Mac OS can be a lot more useful than u prob think. There’s a reason why Someordinarygamers rocks a Mac on the go. The terminal is very capable and u can literally get most package managers that work on Linux like Nix on it. It’s far more private and secure than Windows. Eric Parker, a great cybersecurity channel tested it in a great video. All and all, Mac OS is like a 6/10-7/10 based on use case. Windows 11 is like a 2/10 and a 5/10 with tools like Win-util. Linux is objectively the best but based on ur use case u might need some proprietary software that won’t work on it.
Brazilian, what is new... Brazil is like India but the scammers are smarter. Once in a week at least i got a call from the prison saying they are from my credit card and i need to confirm some data to improve security.
To me as a web dev, this really looks like the devs behins this distro must have TRIED to make its security terribe... It's literally easier to make an API... Even one written in plain JS would be more secure. Just a node/express server eith a few handlers, sql adapter and that's it...
Clearly, the people behind Wubuntu did their damage before their handiwork was examined in detail. And that is the backstop open source code offers-- devs can run their scam, but they cannot hide their fraudulent and unsafe code.
In the update tab of the start screen you will occasionally get a prompt at the top to download Windows 11 and it's the most creepily worded thing I think I've ever seen. Ex: "Download and install" or ""Stay on Windows 10 for now" For now? What is gonna happen to the my $150?
Except you're wrong and *I* decide how I use my windows (and Linux) PC. M$ doesn't like it, but that's too bad. I reconfigured and third partied my windows into compliance against it's will.
I can understand why Winders migrants might want something that mimics Windows. However, I started using Linux in 1992 (yggdrasil) and have used a variety of Linux flavors over the decades. Right now, I'm using the Cosmic DE on Pop and Ubuntu 24.04. I have always had dual boot systems or better yet multiple hard drives with different OSes to choose at boot. I've booted into windows less than 0.000000001% of the time and that has primarily done to let upgrades process. Thank you Torvalds and ALL the hordes of programmers who have made this possible.

And yes I am decently fluent in cmd/powershell as well and it still is just bad.
wubuntu is cooked
Linux users will never figure out that no one cares about a 'windows experience." What they care about is being able to use industry standard applications, not the knock offs that you're suck with on Linux. A zillions different distros, and not one has figured that out.
Precisely.
The overlay of Ted during the intro was so appropriate. Sure his methods weren't quite acceptable, but what he said and believed would happen has come true.
They’re doing a good job impersonating windows
Once I saw how well and how quickly the search function worked I knew that wasn't Windows
Why not 7 UI ? Usability and design of 11 is a crap .
Kept my 7 in 98 UI. 😂😂
@DanSlotea 95/98 is oudated but it has solid ui /ux. It was tested by the team of 600 men and with 64 stages.
Personally, I miss XP UI.
@@TotemoGaijinI miss Vista’s UI. Vista unironically had the most underrated GUI of all Windows.
The fucking Unabomber pic made me laugh. Well played lol.

Right? We already have a perfectly good Distro, Big Linux. I don't use it, but we do.
Only after experiencing workplace terminals connected to whatever (CNC or servers for example), do you realize the reason behind the name "personal computer"
illegal you say ?? this wont stop me from sailing the os seas 🗣🗣
A distro that's ripping off Windows? I'll stay with Windows instead!
0:16 still more personal than a mac
ROFL
To me as a web dev, this really looks like the devs behins this distro must have TRIED to make its security terribe... It's literally easier to make an API... Even one written in plain JS would be more secure. Just a node/express server eith a few handlers, sql adapter and that's it...
Do you get forced updates and other stuff running in the background hogging cpu & ram like you do with Windows?
That Ted Kaczynski call out had me cackling
love the in-game Edge crash.
Clearly, the people behind Wubuntu did their damage before their handiwork was examined in detail. And that is the backstop open source code offers-- devs can run their scam, but they cannot hide their fraudulent and unsafe code.
Missed the opportunity to call it "Pretendows"

Stop using Wubuntu! lol
it's like a trainwrek in slow-motion that never seems to end....

In the update tab of the start screen you will occasionally get a prompt at the top to download Windows 11 and it's the most creepily worded thing I think I've ever seen.
Ex: "Download and install" or ""Stay on Windows 10 for now"
For now?
Manjaro Linux (KDE version) = Master distro.
Easy enough for beginners
Customizable enough for advanced users
It’s what I have installed on my Framework laptop
manjaro is just as sketchy as their devs in terms of putting band aid solutions to the os
I used Manjaro and I would say: use EndeavourOS instead ;-)
Manjaro is a terrible distro
use anything else that isn't Wubuntu
@@GabrielM01 can’t you just get proper patches yourself from the community instead of having the Manjaro team band-aid everything?
At this point I’m convinced the Windows form factor is actually stricken by an eldritch curse that plants corruption in one’s heart. The only way to have a happy and free soul is to embrace CLI ❤

Zorin OS is a far better choice! It has been around for over 15 years and is made in Ireland.
I put Zorin on my boomer dad’s laptop and he likes it. He can barely use windows.
how is it for gaming? I feel stuck on Windows for the videyas
@@Messothelioma Linux in general is far better for gaming these days, largely thanks to Steam's Proton Project. Zorin OS and other distros in the Ubuntu Family are highly optimized for most of Steam's Projects.
How can someone adapt the linux version that much but not being able to use an api :/

I wish we could get a Linux distro that emulates XP or Windows 7.
and ran Windows software directly.
I miss XP so bad. And yeah, I definitely enjoy Linux at least partially because the "shit constantly breaks and you gotta look up the fix and every now and then you'll feel like tearing your pigtails out" experience is so accurate to the Windows XP era, at least how my little kid self remembers it.
