Nach dem festziehen geht der Stern ganz leicht raus. Außerdem hat sich der Nachsteller schön zu stark nachgestellt.

    great job again and great video. You always make it look easy even though anyone who`s has done a clutch on a drive knows it`s bloody hard work. I`m interested to know why you had to grind the pressure plate rather than unbolt it and centring the clutch was not the usual tool and bolt on?? Keep the videos coming...and the ramps are great but I would be wanting some back up axle stands under there!

    • @WMCS

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  3 года назад +3

      First post I’ve read since doing these repair videos. That is so accurate and could have almost come from my own mouth.
      I have been fitting on average 30 clutches a month over an 84 months period. That’s roughly a total of 2160 clutches.
      Now I wouldn’t want to boast. Not all my customers wants their repairs filmed. That includes Porsche. Aston Martins.
      A lot of comments are laughable but yours wins on both accuracy and the ability to say it well.

    Why not LUK flywheel Kevin & grinding pressure plate off?

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  3 года назад +2

      This VALEO flywheel is a superior one to the LUK for the purpose of high speed. It cost about £150 more than a LUK would.
      There’s cut outs behind the top plate which allows for maximum airflow and the top plate of the DMF sits outside rather than embedded into the flywheel.
      This vehicle got so hot that it melted the thrust bearing and welded the bolts into the thread. It wouldn’t come out for no one., even Father Christmas.,
      hence the tool of last resort ...

      It's a self adjusting clutch that maintains the same throw as the clutch wears. It does this using the 3 springs you can see. The clutch comes with the fingers compressed and the springs in the wide open position. Removing that temporary tool releases the fingers to push the pressure plate "home" onto the clutch disc.

    • @spin1275gt
      @spin1275gt 3 года назад +1

      No, youre suppose to use the proper allignment tool which is short enough to fit behind the SAC lock plate. Than you have to torque down the pressure plate and than remove the lock tool. The way he did it in this video is wrong and this BMW wont have a nice grabbing point. I was a bit disappointed to see that he did it the wrong way.

    • @Z4loorit
      @Z4loorit 3 года назад +1

      @@spin1275gt surely so long as the gearbox slides in (plate aligned correctly) and the diaphragm plate is tight enough, all should be fine.
