Fantastic video thanks for sharing 👏👌 it’s not the first time that gearbox was removed I saw a LUK stamp mark on the Pressure Plate….. really enjoying watching your videos 😊👍 I think I’ve caught up on all of them now.. you need to make some more 🙏🙏
Top stuff mate. Engine blew up on my 118d. So thought i’ll do it myself and use the 120d more powerful engine. Taken the engine out but wondered how to swap my gearbox. Just a screwdriver 😂. Given me a lot more confidence and reckon i’ll do it after work tomorrow
Thanks, same reason I stay away from engine upscale because of the gearbox mis-match, but good luck with yours, some of the BMW gearbox's fix multiple engines.
I have not seen the special tool used to center the entire assembly before being tightened with the wrench. The original BMW spare part incorporates a centering pin which must then be removed when all the bolts are tightened.
Well there is multiple ways to do it, yes most of the flywheel+clutch kits comes with it, but it is not always the case, so you it oldschool, it might not be perfect but if it works then it will do.
On 4 wheel drive, it is different and different things can cause vibration, if its only while stationary its worth checking all engine mounts, thanks for the comment!
no nothing went smooth with it at all. First I got the customer a woman talking turd. The plastic under car held by rusted screws which snap. Then the pedal system. Trying to just remove the clutch master almost worked BUT. Above theres 8mm id braided pipe which pushes down on a nipple half way along the body of clutch master cylinder. You might but I failed. Screwdriver prize it off but no space. Whole time im upside down feet on seat head rest. Head under dash. Only one arm working. Trying to hold up pedals. Push nuts on. Unplug connectors. Fit pressure pipe and retainer plus brain pin. All one hand and whilst holding the pedals fingers working doing multiple tasks. Me getting hot and irate. Then with all back in and a new feed hose going up through bulkhead waiting to be cut short to join filler bottle, I had one last thing to do. Fit the flat sensor to body of clutch master cylinder. It would not clip in. Right up high behind dash and whatever I did not click showing good fit. Took it out to old clutch master and it clicked in fine. Back to new nope. After 30 minutes in the end I took the pedals out again. Yep. Dropped them and then tried switch. Still not clicking in. Reason being pattern part. Slight difference. Then surprised by boyfriend of customer and him saying whens car gonna be finished. No hi how are you. Shit job

Esa pieza dañada puede ocasionar vibración, reemplace en una x5 ambos soportes de cardan pero le quedo una cierta vibración !

Changing clutch master cylinder is a complete nasty job. FACT. I am middle of doing it.
Yeah I bet it is, as on most cars they are, but non the less good luck and everything goes smooth with it!
