Hi, in this video I am replacing timing belt and water pump kit on 2014 Ford Mondeo with 1.6 TDCi engine. I will show step-by-step how I did it.
I spend a LOT of time trying to make my videos as concise, polished and useful as possible for you - if you would like to support me on that mission then consider subscribing to the channel - you'd make my day
Also this engine's code is T1BB and can be found in not only Ford's but also Citroen, Peugeot and many other makes, and timing belt replacement procedure going to be pretty much same.

Replacement of valve stem seals wothout removing cylinder head
Hi guys.quick question I've got a Ford focus 2012 1.6tdci stating the error P1264 on odb reader. After a research i've got confused, is the this error related to faulty injector on cylinder 4( from left to the right when you open the bonet 1,2,3,4) or this is related to the injector 4(following the firing order 1,4,2,3) which it could be installed on cylinder 2. Can i also confirm this info on forscan app? Thank you
Excellent video....if you have the correct tools and spare parts kit!!!!
Did you reuse the camshaft sprocket bolts as well as the crankshaft pulley bolt?
First time no, but second times I did install new bolts and and new sprockets, 44:06 you can see it here!
Nice video about (dis)assembly but not good idea to keep the old belt and what's worse not to tension the belt! There is a certain torque for tensioning the belt and you miss it.
I did not know that, gonna have to do some research, thanks!
had the same engine and had done chain timing replacement, but now the vehicle has a misfire but no code showing.
Sorry to hear that, sometimes you can take small test drive and fault might appear and other way is try disconnecting one by one coil packs to see which cylinder is misfirenand then go from there, best of luck!
Great video pal
Thanks 👍
well done that man. that was very good it has to be one of the best videos really enjoyed it thanks A⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Much appreciated, thank you!
You dont need sealant on gasket
Thank you, will try next time without!
hi wonderful video. i went to a garage that gave me a nine hour estimate to do this. is this correct? seems a bit long....how long did it take you? other video's i saw just have cams locked in place at the pump side with a tool without removing all the cam covers, spark plug etc. did you remove it just to make sure you had top dead center on cylinder 1? with the cam lock tool and the crank bolt install would that be enough? thanks again,
Hi, it takes me longer because of filming videos, but over all you can do that job under 4h, yes all I lock was just camshafts at the top and crankshaft with that bolt, thats all you need to do! 9h is okay if the place where you took it charging £20per hour labour, if they charge over £60 than they just trying they luck to earn easy money!
Fantastic video, huge help. Thank you for that, very much appreciated 😁
Thank you!
Yeah I had to do the front coil springs on the daughter in law car, ended up fitting a pair with top bearings as 3bolts sheared off. Not a bad job tho. Not seen your videos until now so will subscribe..
Thank you, yeah I know sometimes they do start spinning around and then 1h job ending up being 3h job 🙈
Hi, awesome video! Just a quick question you might know the answer to, can you go back and readjust the tension of the timing belt (providing it doesn't slip off etc.) very slightly to reduce the amount of tension a bit without affecting the engine timing? Reason I ask is because I've just picked up a new t6 and the tension on the timing belt is to tight and is whining and doesn't line up to the marking on the tensioner, they had it replaced just before I bought it so I wanted to adjust it to make it correct but not sure if it's mess the engine timing up? Thanks!
Hi, thanks! You can adjust tensioner without disturbing timing, but before you do remember that the timing tensioner marking move further and back, hence sometimes it can look that it is overtight but reality thats how tensioner works, if you have whining nose would be worth to check aux belt pulley and tensioner if they are all good! Best of luck to sort it out!

Over all KIA’s and Hyundai are not that bad atleast in the UK, as long you take good car of them

THANK YOU I LOVE YOUR VVIDEOS YOU ARE MY GOOD MECHANIC IN RUclips
Thank you so much for this video 📹 very helpful advice 😊
That’s a sweet tool, I’ve never pulled DI injectors but I dread the day
For me aswel it is rare to get this bad, although this is chinese version of this tool and costed only £160 compare to £500 welzh werkzeug it worked really well
Can you provide a list of all tools you used please? Have to purchase some. Thank you.
Hi, thanks for this vidéo ! Please Can you show me where to put trolley jack on engine to support it and avoid engine damage please ? Thanks a lot for your answer !
Hi, usually I am not using only trolley jack by it self as it has pointy tips, so best way is put piece of wood between trolley jack and engine and answer to your question is - you position trolley jack as close as possible the sump edge but not over so it doesn't slip off, sump is pretty strong and it will not going to get damaged, as long you are not trying to lift whole car up.
My friend can do service cheaper 😂
😂
Hi, can i bring a BMW 1 series to with same engine? How do i contact you? Thanks
Hi, garage name Redline Garage, LE111ED
very good!!!! bravo!!!
Hi bravo for your video. I have the same problem to my ford grand tourneo 1.6 95ps. P1264 injector. Which is the proper measurement for a good injector? What do you suggest me to do? It had been two times to engine service now. But now works well. What must do? Thanks for advance i am dionyshs from Greece
Thanks, well there is only one option new injectors 😔
great video and explanation ...do you have to load the suspension before torquing the bolts
Only suspension arm bushes, rest can be torqued up in the air!
@@EverydayValuedMechanic thanks mate
Hey mate just wondering what tool kit you got and how much it was and where you got it from, there’s so many ones I’m unsure. Thanks
Hi, this garage where im working, they have self made locking tool 🙈 its been working so far, but on amazon you can get them for £35
Thanks for that mate, also what are dimensions of the flat bar to slot in to stop it from turning over?
how much does it cost?
It will depend on garage where you take it, but I think should not cost more than £1000 even if you take it to dealers, but then again they can charge what ever they want.
Just on the phone with bmw they said depending on the cars status (unsure what they meant by that ) but £1500-6500. BMW garages are a joke support from local garages are more honest and helpful
i changed my timing change following your instruction ! i checked the timing after replacing timing chain all was okay now i have Drivetrain error , and it shoes 2 codes from the dme 130f20 - exhaust camshaft angle offset with respect to crankshaft outside tolerance 120408 - charging pressure control switch off as consequence
Sorry to hear this, but I think you have same issue as car i worked on, as customer supplied parts him self, he did not buy camshaft adjuster sprockets and I also had same fault codes after repairs, week later he bring new camshaft sprockets, I did job again exactly same way and had fault codes dissapear, or other option camshaft sprockets were not aligned correctly. PS I mentioned this at the end my video, where I am replacing only camshaft sprockets.
@@EverydayValuedMechanicwhat is the correct orientation for the sprockets if it was wrong?
@@omarsultan341 well there is no exact position ( as much as I am aware of) but IN and EX should be upwards or to my understanding around 12 o’clock, also if you had fault code that timing correleation was wrong you need new sprockets
This is an excellent video. Slow detail pace and clear instructions. Well done.
Thank you very much!
A question about the fuel lines. Worked previously on another car brand and on those you should always replace the high pressure fuel lines to the injectors if you removed them. How is it with the 1.7 crdi engine? Three pressure is so high so there were a risk that reused and already compressed mounting surfaces on the end of the lines would leak.
Hi, from my expierence I’ve never had issue after reusing them, something maybe forgot to thight them or align them propeply but never put new lines, only if threads are messed up then i would replace.
Very nice video
Thanks
He did well m8! Teaching the next generation. Hope he joins you next year for his week’s work experience from school.
I showed this comment to him and he blushed 😂
Great video! I’m gonna use this video to get me started on doing a head gasket job on a friend’s 1.4 TSI in his Jetta. Same as the other commenter, I’m in the states, so I have a little more room.
Good luck!
Thanks for this. I was planning to replace the waterpump only. Now I bought replacement for timing belt, tensioner, engine mount, and also Serpentine belt.
Glad it helped
Okay, so this is how you get your 4 years experience by age of 18 thats required for most of jobs out there , you start early :D
Yeah 😂😂😂
Best video I have seen for timing chain replacement, looking forward to many more - Thanks.
Awesome, thank you!
Excellent video. Thank you very much.

Just watched your great belt change tutorial! As a Golf 1.4 TSI owner and my son driving a Seat Leon 1.4 TSI, this video came at the perfect time. Can't wait to tackle this job and save some serious cash! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Bom vídeo, foste um máximo. Há que dar valor a pessoas como tu
Thank you!
How much does this cost to get replaced
It will depend on garage you take it to, roughly around £140 for decent quality spring
Great video, nice work, where is your garage based and how much does this job cost?
Dont known how much parts cost, but labour around £300.

Hi 👋🏿 mate is the crankshaft pulley supposed to be timed or it’s just to fit it in anyhow?
Hi, yes it must timed on flywheel.
❤
Just an update: Over the last weekend, I took the car and drove around 400 km in 3 days. The problem is gone. Engine is working fine. No smoke during cold start and average consumption was 4.7 lit/100 km. I would guess that new injector calibreted itself or dynamic regeneration of diesel particulate filter was successfully performed.
Thank you for the splendid video! It was highly informative. Could you please let me know where I can find the diagrams from Autodata you showed in the video?
Hi, thank you, garage where im working have subscription to autodata, beside this I really dont know where to get diagrams and manuals online, other option you can try to find Haynes manuals for your car.
Great video! What is BTW the easiest way to inspect the timing belt? Removing the top cover or from the bottom?
Hi, thank you, I would say top cover removal!
where do you get your manuals from ?
Hi, garage where I am working have subscribtion to Autodata
