Thanks a bunch for all the videos, they made me much more comfortable buying a 130i Would you consider making a video on changing the engine mounts too?
@@MTechGuy to keep you up to date, I gathered some motivation and decided to try my luck at changing the engine mounts. Turns out that it's possible without lowering the subframe, although the space to slide the old ones out and new ones in is pretty restricted... Also, you do have to jack the engine from the oil pan for the left side mount
I fitted E46 M3 jobbies to my 130 and my other half’s 125. I can’t say that I’ve ever noticed any difference in noise between the stock ones and these. They weren’t that expensive from my local dealer.
@@MTechGuy fair enough. One of the best changes that I’ve made is fitting E90 M3 LCA’s. I’ve also fitted some camber plates and it’s made the front end feel loads more direct and pointy. Again, I’ve not really noticed and more NVH.
My 130i's gearbox has been irritating me lately so I've been looking for a useful guide to change the mounts, great vid 👍. Did you notice any difference?
Hi, is it important to have the car up fully to do this job or can you just jack up the rear and put it on stands? I mean is there any detrimant to the gearbox for example? Thanks
Great video. Thanks.
Collecting the mounts tomorrow. Instal the weekend.
Thank you so much. My 2009 e88 getting all your steps… :)
👍
Great video, will change mine coming weekend for slightly stiffer ones... nice to see its such an easy job! 🙂
Nice one, yeah not a bad job 👍

Thanks for watching Jo. Might do one in the future, but normally engine mounts are worth doing at the same time as the oil pan gasket

Thanks mate, loving the videos 👍

Thanks for sharing Sam, I’ve heard some owners say the same, and others change them back for the stock ones because they didn’t like the M3 mounts

Good mod the E90 M3 LCA’s 👍
@@MTechGuy I was quite surprised at the difference. My other half has a stock 125i and my 130i fro t end feels way nicer now.

Yeah, it did tighten things up a little
Great video again. Thank you
Cheers Valentijn, thanks for watching!

You won’t have much space to work
Nice video! Is it possible to swap a gearbox with 5 gears for 1 with 6 gears?
Just went for the m3 mounts will let you know how it is..I’ve used solid engine mounts so know what I’m talking about a little
The M3 mounts are good
@@MTechGuy seems like it’s hard to shift 1 and 2..plus when start up hear what is the gearbox hitting the car briefly
@@MTechGuy I lied I got the 034 motorsport street density mounts sorry
Does this solve shaking gear stick problem with diesels?
It may smooth it out, but you may have other issue contributing to it too
I was wondering the same. I also have shaking stick. But no other problems.
