I has a bad left hand engine mount on my 2001 E39 530D. The symptoms were vibration and noise when in Park or Reverse. In Drive (or the other forward gears) there was not any noticeable noise or vibration. The symptoms were worse when the engine was cold. Swapping out the engine mount was easy took me about an hour or so including disconnecting/connecting the vacuum system that is used on the E39/M57 engine mounts. Glad it wasn't the right hand engine mount as the positioning of it below the turbo makes access to the attachments much more difficult, even so I would expect to be able to replace the RH one on a couple of hours
Having done a very unscientific survey of RUclips videos and BMW blog posts on tthe subject of engine mounts is seems to be invariably true that the left hand one lets go first. I guess that this is to do with the direction of rotaion of the engine and the push/pull stresses on the LH and RH engine mounts.
I have a problem with the 2008 BMW X6 35i Some time ago, the whole car started shaking while I was in the parking lot, many times and when I was going in reverse. There is no significant change in the tachometer around 550-650 rpm. I had missfire on cylinder 3 and 4 but I solved it. There are no errors on the computer, but the car starts to shake a bit again, especially when I start reversing. I replaced the battery, it was 10 years old, I cleaned the map sensor, there are no air leaks. It just shakes a bit while in parking mode. I don't know what the problem might be The car covered 145,000 km, I changed the oil in the gearbox and engine. Thank you.
Will a broken engine mount give a powertrain drive moderately warning ⚠️. Because my motor moves 140k due to broken mount but code is on and off again?
I have some vibration when first flooring the trottle to high rpm, then letting off quickly, then there is some vibration that seem to be transmitting through the car body. Seems to come from engine/gearbox area, can only be heard inside car with closed windows. It follows the engine rpm, so if I for example push in the clutch the vibration drops off together with engine rpm. If I let off the throttle gently from high rpm -> all good. Changed the harmonic damper but issue still there. Exhaust is all in good shape, can't see anything contacting any part of the body. I'm thinking, it has to be bad engine mounts. Changed them like 8 years ago, I guess maybe time to do it again..?
do these engine mounts have oil in them? i have e90 320i and i see oil leaking from passenger side engine mount and i am not sure where its coming from, i recently changed my engine oil
Hello, I am having problems with my vehicle and no service has found a solution. The problem is that when I take my foot off the gas pedal or step on the gas pedal while moving, the vehicle shakes and the engine speed changes very little. I do not have any problems with gear shifting. Also, when I shift from d to r while stationary, there is a sound. What could be my problem? I have reset all the adaptations including engine adaptation, but my problem continues.
Need answer fast. my enginge mount is broken can it make the serpentine belt jump off? Mine did that and every wheel in for the belt is in good shape so is the tensioner. How can that be possible? Is it beacuse of vibration it makes from engine when mount is broken??? I have a e63 amg

Hi , im own one 500x 1.4 multiair, my mechanic say the cause why my car shaking is the partially collapse of the engine mount but why when is cold i feel this vibration everywhere inside the cabin and when is warming up don't shake anymore but i can earn small noise on the engine ?? Thank you 😊
I had the same problem. Replaced my mounts and now the vibrations are worse idling. Can you advise what the problem may be? Where do I start with vacuum leaks
what the brands of your mount?, ive see more vibration problem with aftermarkets mounts, apparantly the bmw mount have fluid inside, the aftermarkets are only strong plastic, ive many problem too my x3 because aftermarket mount are too hard

Can you tell me if the engine mounts can cause axle to pop out?
Would this cause a drivetrain malfunction code ?
Doubt I’ll get a reply but would it also make the gear stick shake?
Nope. Shouldn't be able to
How long does this take and how much money
