“Simple and straightforward”…. “not even sure why I am doing this”. Those are usually the videos that are priceless for the ones searching. I remember tackling my first u-joint repair back when I was a teenager because I didn’t have the money to pay to have it done..,I wish this video would’ve existed then. 30 plus years later I think I might’ve had the same thought you had…It might not get 1 million views but the views it does gets will probably become subscribers for life because you were the one that helped them through A job that they were nervous about yet afraid to ask questions because everybody just brushed it off as a simple job.
Wish all repair videos were like this. To the point. No rambling. No ads. No bs. You’re a good man, thank you.
I hope there was an ad or two. I need to make a little.
I sometimes forget that YT premium takes away all ads. I also sometimes forget that I have YT premium for that reason alone.
Don’t forget the value your knowledge has. Appreciate the video a lot!
This is the best one I've seen man he made that look easy now I feel more confident thanks
Thanks for doing this video. The simple ones are entertaining also!
Earned your Saki this week pal. Didn't know about the plastic goo, I learn something from you all the time.
I liked the way you explain the procedures. Thanks
You sure made that look easy , nice job.. thanks 👍
Hey Rustbelt, I dont care if you're just changing a bulb. do a video. Your videos are awesome ! I like your style, man. 👍
Thanks for the video helped me big time 👍👍
The commentary was awesome
You made it so well thank s mr
Thanks for showing this.
I have a feeling that from all the experience doing 1000+ u-joints, there is probably no one on RUclips that will tell anyone to do them like this. Once again, I think something is unimportant, and I do it anyways. It's probably not. You are welcome!
That's an excellent tip, look for the dusting of rust. Sometimes evidence is staring you in the face, but you need to be ready to see it.
Got a subscriber for poking yourself in the finger 🤣 good video. Thanks!
great info, thanks
Welcome!
nice video!! no balls were burnt in the making!!!
I always wondered why I haven't seen you use a torch. One of my main tools, but map gas works too.
Been thinking about it for a long time. I just dont like the fire hazard with all the metal slang and stuff. I got my dirt torch set when I was 19, and sold it a long time ago.
@@RustBeltAuto What about induction heater for those types of work? Wrap it around nut/bolt/joint and fire away.
@@LatvjuAvs I dont know
I did if your way thanks your the best ………….
Quick question, what did you use to stop the front u joint, because that may need a snap ring or something to control at high speed, thanks
U-joints have inner retainer clips, or tabs on the outer portion of the yolk.
No rust in eye?
How can you tell the difference between high quality grease and crappy grease?
Packing grease is clear. Good quality grease is also quite stringy.
Lol crunchy is good thats what the kids say about cereal anyways lol is it the same for u joint
"When I was an automotive machinist and I U, U, did U joints..........."
I rolled them too. Pretty amazing.
@@RustBeltAuto I know. I remember. You almost hit a tree that time too until I intervened.
Lol... Ju joints. 😄
I worked with a Mexican mechanic before, and he couldn't say the letter "u". That's how he said it, it stuck ever since.
