Owner of a 2017 silver Ice. Going on 30,000 miles. It's my daily commuter. The fun begins when walking up to it. The daily compliments from young to old. At '5 7" it's hard on the wrist .Looking for a noticeable upgrade? Change the stock exhaust. Very happy I went with such a beautiful classy machine.
I've had my 2016 Thruxton R since June 2016 and love mine. It is great for weekend rides, drag and land speed racing. The engine is very durable and will pull about any kind of gearing you want. I decided to change from Silver Ice after six years candy apple red with gold leaf stripes.
My neighbour just bought one of the Chrome edition Thruxton RS. It looks and sounds amazing. Not a fan of the partial fairing but that's a matter of taste I guess. :-)
Good review. You have good taste. Awesome colour. I really like the new colours which are black and Green /Silver. I am getting a Thruxton in a few months time. Until then I just keep watching youtube reviews lol.
I have the standard 1200 Thruxton without the ohlins suspension/ Gold forks ect , picked it up really cheap as got 53k miles on clock and been through a few winters (it shows) but engine sounds sweet . In process of cleaning up and fixing things atm . I had a budget for used 900 Thruxton but this came along cheaper , done pads rear disc , chain/sprockets , tyre and loads of cleaning . I think the 1200 is massive improvement on the 900 in performance , handling and looks , the engine really does look like the original Bonneville , don't think 900 pulls it off
Great review. I was just looking at an all stock used 2016 R at my local triumph dealer. I have wanted one for years .Is there any truth to the starter casting breaking problem or is it fixed in the later models ?
Starter casting breaking is only on the older air cooled 865 cc (900) engine , the 1200 water cooled is a totally new engine , starter system is totally different on 1200 . There is a safe start mod kit to prevent pinion failing on the older air-cooled 900
I got the same motorcycle...but can you tell me what means the green light that appears in your speedometer? I don't remember having it in mine..... thanks!
That competition green is my fav. Such a beauty!

How reliable has it been for 30,000 miles?
@@Spartansrule118 In 30,000 miles I have followed the recommended maintenance and have not had any problems.
I really wanted the Thruxton but bought a 2019 T120 because of the pain in the wrists. Love my Bonnie but still drool over the Thruxton
I had Meerkat exhaust in Australia make a set of Norton style exhausts for mine. I have a video of it on my channel if you are interested.

Wow, that sounds proper in those colors 👌

I would not consider that a truth. As far as I know and hear from my SA Triumph importer we had no issues as such here

Is it not the Neutral light for gear selection
@@route21garage I mean the one that appears in the right bottom of the right speedometer....
@@josepgarciahidalgo9477 That is the daytime-running LED light. You can change between DRL or Main Beam.
Is the wheels set up for tubeless tires really?
I love ❤️ my Continental GT 535.....Royal Enfield
This is a triumph video
Aren't these made in India or owned by a india company still produced in the original triumph plant?
Lovely bike. I've had one for years, but the build quality is questionable.
