The thruxton rs was the reason i fell in love with cafe racers. Not available in my country, so had to settle for the continental gt 650 and I absolutely love it. ❤
I've had my Thruxton R for almost 7 years and added the Triumph cafe racer fairing. I was 63 years old when I bought it and don't have any problems riding it for a couple hours at a time. The motor is a peach and can pull gearing up to an 18T/37T from the stock 16T/42T. I've run my drag strip 55 times and raced it full speed at Bonneville 19 times with zero issues. I have videos at the drag strip and at Bonneville. The engine responds well to bolt on mods.
I bought one of the first '16 Diablo Red Trhuxton R in TX. Updated the levers, put on a color matching short fly screen, and decated the exhaust with black headers and SC Project slip-on. Black outed the engine from the aluminum and once I get it tuned with a race cam, it will out perform the RS. Love this bike, it is a head turner.
I've ridden the Thruxton R and found it's ohlins and big-piston showa suspension like a magic carpet ride. A perfect bike for those who like to go fast, smoothly and with style. Can only imagine the RS takes it to another level.
Not significantly different, dressed up to meet tighter emissions regs and marketed as performance upgrades. Take an R that's been custom mapped and it'll feel hard to justify another £7k, unless new things are important to the individual.
Night and day difference. The brakes and the engine response are dialed up to 11. Ridden both and currently owns an RS. Very different characters. The R had weak, wooden brakes and lumpier engine.
This was in the running for me six years ago. I'd decided on this or the BMW R NINE T. The Triumph dealer had no interest in me as a customer. I was in an empty showroom and staff were walking around not even making eye contact. When I eventually managed to get the attention of a salesman he was constantly giving me the impression he had more important things to be doing. Contrast that with the BMW dealer. Within ten minutes I had a coffee in my hand and 20 minutes later I was out on a demo bike. I came back and put my deposit down. If I'm buying a brand new bike I need to feel confident that the dealer is going to look after me if things go wrong. The Triumph dealer didn't come close to instilling that sort of confidence. In summary, Triumph are great bikes. Shame about the dealers.
To be fair I think this is the attitude of a lot of dealerships these days. They feel like they're doing you a huge favour by selling you a bike. BMW at least in my experience have a good customer services attitude
As the rider of a Cafe-bike (modded 73 yam TX650/700) This one looks great and has all the real-world specs that you need . A bit of 'Gold' on the Black would make it look superb . I agree that gripping the tank with your thighs is the key for less wrist/hand fatigue , at nearly 70yrs , I find its a good core work-out too and changes the balance/feel of bikes for the better . It works for my custom Yam TR1 as well , stabilising it when the front-end gets loaded and a bit 'choppy' on down-hill twisties ,this is where tank-rubber-grips come in handy . Just discovered you and enjoying your vids . Dave NZ
Im 62 now and always ridden old school bikes with no electrical aids, so no worries for me personally. I do appreciate the benefits but not needed in my case and probably makes us keep more in mind with the bike. Unfortunately being 62 and unemployed I doubt I cold ever own a bike again. Appreciate your knowledge on bikes these days though.
Another good vid and lovely looking bike. Looks like typical excellent Triumph build quality too. On a different note Kate I’ve just taken delivery of my latest BMW. Gone for the the R1250RT and got myself £50 off the the datatool tracker by mentioning you so thanks for that. Speak soon 👍 10:39
Only just found your channel and found your Thruxton first ride review (subbed 🤓🙏). Just switched from my 17 GSA (from new) to the TTRS Showcase. You have such a great talent, fantastic detail and video but you definitely make it something special 🙏😎👍 Absolutely loving the look, ride, engine and sound (aftermarket slip ons). I had a very bad lower back for eight months (9 out of 10 on pain scale) and the slight lean forward stance is working out better than sit up and beg - albeit the GSA was a magic carpet ride when it came to bumps. 😅
Yes, it is, indeed, extremely sexy. The one that has the most along with the Ducati Sport Classic 1000 from 2007 and the current Norton Commando 961 Sport, probably the one that has the most among all.
O was at the shop the other day and looked at one they had. They are beautiful but I was wondering if the olins etc was really needed. Have not ridden one so I personally can not answer that. But again, they are beautiful. I look forward to hear what you think of her
I personally think the autofabrica type 7e is the sexiest best looking motorcycle ever made however this is probably one of the best looking bike available on the market
It's an interesting bike - like, I think of café racers as being light, middleweight engines, but here's this 1200cc behemoth. It does have a *lovely* exhaust note though. I wonder what the ride height & riding position is like on the Bobber, i.e. same bike packaged as a cruiser?
Interesting. I have both the Royal Enfield Cont. gt 650 and the thruxton RS, and I feel as if RE made the sexier bike. It’s far more simplistic and old school feeling. Plus the polished engine looks brilliant

No, a Godet Egli Vincent or JMC Egli Vincent or Norvin, and a lot of Tritons, BSA Rocket Gold Star, Ducati 250/350/450 Desmos, 900SS etc etc are a lot sexier, ......... - its up there though, for a mass produced modern 'retro' factory bike, but needs the fairing to make it look truly good............. but you can get two Continental GT650's for the price and they are more akin to the cafe racers of the 60's and if properly modded don't look too bad either
The thruxton rs was the reason i fell in love with cafe racers. Not available in my country, so had to settle for the continental gt 650 and I absolutely love it. ❤
Magnificent machine and lovely thoughtful review, not to mention I could listen to you speak all day! Cheers and thank you from the US! 😊
Yes nice accent ,sounds like maybe from yorkshere

Loved this video! Most reviews are the same list of specs and pov drive, this is more real life day to day aspects and its great!
What an incredible looking bike. Thanks for the real world test.

I’m digging the green one, man. Thank you for the cool video. 🦓🎶

The RS is the same bike. Nothing has changed except for the cam. :(
Night and day difference. The brakes and the engine response are dialed up to 11. Ridden both and currently owns an RS. Very different characters. The R had weak, wooden brakes and lumpier engine.
Whew, that is a good looking bike. It's great that Triumph loaded it up with legitimate performance components.
Great review.
I totally agree...just look at those beautiful dual exhaust situated left and right...Perfect balance & such elegance...!!!
the important thing is to keep the spirit, continue to work very well, high quality and always think positively to work, I am very happy to see you
Love your reviews so much more easier on the eye than lamb chops thank you.😊
Brilliant review, Brilliant motorbike. 👍🏼👍🏼

Had a similar experience when looking at the Tiger 1200, ended up buying a GS
That's happened to me in the triumph dealership in long eaton in Nottingham
You should visit the Triumph dealer and show them your new bike. Could teach them a lesson 💪🇩🇰

I had to wait 30 minutes for my filet mignon!! I almost left the restaurant to go buy a cheeseburger. I'm glad I didn't....🤔

Have a ‘22 and took it to two track days; a hoot and held it’s own for the most part. Love the bike.
Great review. I also like the background/ambience.

Great vlog Kate, awesome editing on this one, top stuff!
Very nice bike, top review Kate, thanks👍
Beautiful bike, would love to get a run on one.
Good walk round with all the info you could want, great job as always 😎🏍️
Simple answer: YES 😀
Another good vid and lovely looking bike. Looks like typical excellent Triumph build quality too.

It does look nice (saw the chrome edition the other week which looked very nice) and a great insight Kate so thanks for sharing
🔥🔥
Nice bike and awesome introduction....love from India....
Awesome video Kate, beautiful bike
Great overview kate, its a lovely piece of kit 👍
I have a Thruxton too, you're right its gorgeous
Another great review Katie, looked at bike in a dealer yesterday but not sure about the handlebars, i like you blond btw 😉
That is a very nice classic looking bike. Will be interested in the ride along.
She's a beast alright, but a beautie for sure and thanks for the vlog!
Its a work of art. I do wonder though how I would fare with comfort on a longer ride with those clip ons?
It indeed is..
That’s one good looking bike and another top review.
'Bit of a heifer' - love it!
Guilty pleasure of mine and so true defo best retro/cafe racer in my eye s
Fantastic sound out of those twin exhaust 😊😊😊
Thruxton is art in motion.
Beautiful bike. I've owned two in the last few years
Absolutely love your blogs but as for the triumph it's going back to the 70's enough said me thinks 😊 x
Nice looking bike Kate. On par with the styling of the new Norton and a similar price, just way more performance!
Nicely done Kate.
Your smile says everything: it IS the sexiest (factory built) cafe racer.
stunning bike. good vid.
Sounds lovely
I wasn’t much interested in this, it’s not my cup of tea. Then you did the sound check 😮 What a fabulous sounding machine.
The thruxton is a total babe but do you see yourself taking it across the country?
Asking from someone who wants to own one bike and run it till I die
I think I'd probably struggle. My joints aren't what they used to be 🤣
Nice review Kate how about a review of the Royal enfield Scram.....a killer machine that will make you smile......
Such a sexy bike. Would love to see a r nine t back on your channel. Great vid 👍👍
The R and RS are the best looking Thruxtons. 👌

A good informative vid that Kate.
Could you not do some test rides on older bikes? There are a lot of bikers who cannot afford these dream machines. 👍
It's in the pipe line :)
Cool Kate 👍
Great video Kate , but i do prefer the BMW R Nine T Option 719 Aluminium my current motorcycle
Couldn’t afford the Thruxton RS , so bought something that fits my pocket - Continental GT650
👍
We'll done Kate rise safe lovely
I personally think the autofabrica type 7e is the sexiest best looking motorcycle ever made however this is probably one of the best looking bike available on the market
Oooh thats right up my street!
@@UsernameKate noice
Ok 👍👌 super Kate
Norton your life!
It is …. 👍
What’s it’s weight like compared to your GS ?
As with all other bikes with massive gold tubes, all I see are massive gold tubes. To me it's gaudy AF.
I have one in my living room
Niceeee
I want a cloded. Chrome Thruxton weighing 190kg wet and 750 cc with same power or above 80 bhp

I like that...
It's walk a bout time.
Hope talking about inseam doesn't bother utub.
How are u since your crash on the bmw
Good thank you! Just about to loose the little finger nail but it'll grow back 😁
Next time I'm at the vets meet. if your there I will say hi
Please do 😁
Hey Kate 💋
I think ducati sportclassic 1000 is the sexiest cafe racer ever made.
Oh lordddd, ESPECIALLY with a set of Zards 🤤🤤🤤 I've just edited my latest vlog that includes a photo of one. Perfection 👌
Tongue in cheek comment. Is the Thuxton even more sexy with you on it? Comments, views? Excellent review as always Kate.
very good looking bike but the kwak Z900 still beats it
My subscription dropped, anyone else?
Do you mean RUclips unsubscribed you?! :(
The fake carbs and unnecessary fins on the water-cooled cylinder head take some getting used to,...
Ee bai gum lass I don't know which I like the most the Thruxton or you?
Great looking bike but £14,000 going on £15,000 for a classic style bike ?? Really Triumph ?
£14,175. I thought it was good given all the performance parts! Am I out of touch? 😅
@@UsernameKate Speed Twin, which is really the same bike with different clothes comes in at £11,000.
Maybe its me out of touch Kate 🤣
@jim wood speed twin now starts at £11800 now and the stock suspension is underwhelming. I prefer the look of the twin but own an RS
Yeah you can get a 'real' British cafe racer for that.........
There's good value in a used but well loved R for about half the price.
Still rather have a new Norton cafe racer style bike
Could be, but it needs a serious diet.
by the way, I own a 2016 R
Its on a diet... the... no carb diet... see what I did there 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ngl this is powerful af but gt650 still looks better
Ha cheap and nasty looking exhaust pipes is not shouting “ quality” as those original bonnies had heavy chromed pipes all bikes!!

Englisch musst du aber noch ein bisschen lernen XD
£15k wow. I presume people pay for these on the never never as they do with cars?
Any off the shelf cafe racer that’s straight out of the factory isn’t cool, it’s for posers. That’s not what cafe racers are about.
It is a big lump
How can yiu can a bike sexy ??
How can you not? 🤣
Explain?
I'm not sure what's to explain Ryan I'm afraid!
nothing sexier than a English girl taking bike!!!!
Bmw r9t cafe racer...none prettier.
Lol, reading from text not very nice to listen to……
Not as good as Ducatti
