    Comparison with a 650 Enfield.
Just Encouraged an old friend to get one as he is now retired and needs a bike again to chill out.
The 1200 has way more grunt. The RE is fine until 60 mph. The Triumph runs rings around it ...without being a rocket ship.
On my Thruxton changed rear 42 sprocket to a 37.
The bike is now far more relaxing to ride doing open road speeds of 60 mph at 3200rpm.
I may do a CAT removal but it involves dismantling the front frame downtube and lots more. Heard it makes them run lean.
My bike had sat for years...2700 kms in 7 years....and though i flushed the injectors it still misses at slight throttle openings.
    Its a great future classic.

Thanks B 😁 Excellent 😊 I do like my new Thruxton just as it is but will wait and see what its like with a few miles on it before I decide whether to make any changes I think 😊

@@TAYM I have to change my Thruxton as i live in the country in West Australia. Roads are nainly just straight with bumpy surface.
I also gave a 1900 Roadliner which is more suitable for where i live.
When i visit the coast the Thruxton is in its element on windy narrow roads with great scenery.

"misses at slight throttle openings" Mine does that and the idle can sometimes be unreliable ,makes it hard to ride in towns , did you get it sorted ?

    • @buddhastaxi666
      @buddhastaxi666 Год назад +1

@@tiggy2756 Thruxton is sorted in regards fuelling.
I gave it 3 treatments of chrom moly injector treatment. Ive done 6000bmore kms on it in 6 months. It seems run in now.
The bike plays up in sports and road mode in traffic so i go to rain mode and it behaves itself. There is a problem with the throttle regarding fly by wire.
Had big issue with wiring and a round ball magnet fell off the kickstand and bike would not start as it sense kickstand was always down.
Nearest dealer was 300 KMS away but after $A800 and 5 hours labour and being away from home for days it was all fixed.

I HAD THE PEAL WHITE 1 FOR 2 YEARS I loved it! But after 15 years ON A SPORT BIKE IT JUST DIDNT REDLINE HIGH ENOUGH FOR ME! The latest version has an extra 600rpm, THAT'S NOT ENOUGH in any case you will love the bike overall. That's the only thing I can say negative about it it shuts down at 8k, it really was such a nice bike 6 months researching & I finally said ok im 60 years old now its getting harder & harder to crouch in on a full sport this will be more comfy & maybe I can still do the really long rides here in So California, it was great in canyons, great in mountains, great in heat & cold & even with a 160 rear it still held well of course in full max hard in the Ohlin's, BUT I JUST HAD TO GET BACK TO MY CBR 1k & SUFFER THE GROIN & KNEES I NEED MY 14k RED LINES!!

Triumphs are well suited to British roads, I have a blade and very rarely have a road to rev it out. Our roads are shit compared to yours…potholes and traffic everywhere. Never ride my blade always chose my speed triple as it revs out a bit sooner but delivers a great, more usable midrange. If I was riding canyons as you probably do…I’d chose the blade everyday!

    A Triumph that barks🐶 and burbles 👶.
    Thruxtabulous !
One of the joys of the 1960s Triumphs,Nortons and Beesas🐝 was the wonderful exhaust notes.
You could always tell what make of bike was coming down the road even before you saw it .🤓
    Delicious Decibels 🎺
I like a bike that talks to you , especially if it gets mad and snarls at all the cagers and tries to bite cyclists 🚴🐕.
You didn't test the bike for The Fillingham🦤 Effect , now we won't know how far it can blow gloves 👉👉 with that lovely exhaust📯.
There once was a mutterer smitten,
By a Triumph that had lost it's kitten,
    He roared far and wide,
    Across the Suffolk countryside,
A "Ton up Boy" burning up the byways of Britain.
A Thruxton a day keeps dementia away !🤣

Does not have a power commander.
      It needed efi cleanout twice.
The throttle will apply sometimes even when fully shut off.
It also is a bike that runs hot. This is Australia, its often hot or warm all the time.
If im ever in traffic....hardly ever.....i use rain mode.

I get the distinct impression that you rather like this motorcycle ! What a splendiferous soundtrack, which my Interceptor could possibly imitate if I took the baffles out of the Scorpions, however the extra 550cc’s would have the edge on the boom through those V & H exhaust’s. I actually prefer the look (and suitability for me) of the Speed Twin, similar engine, in a more knackered hip and arthritic shoulder friendly package. Really enjoyed your enthusiasm, thanks for making this video.
