Watching this video made me buy the same bike here in Sweden. Same standard model in black with the Vance & Hines. Great looks and sound and an engaging review! Can’t wait until spring ☀️😎
Comparison with a 650 Enfield. Just Encouraged an old friend to get one as he is now retired and needs a bike again to chill out. The 1200 has way more grunt. The RE is fine until 60 mph. The Triumph runs rings around it ...without being a rocket ship. On my Thruxton changed rear 42 sprocket to a 37. The bike is now far more relaxing to ride doing open road speeds of 60 mph at 3200rpm. I may do a CAT removal but it involves dismantling the front frame downtube and lots more. Heard it makes them run lean. My bike had sat for years...2700 kms in 7 years....and though i flushed the injectors it still misses at slight throttle openings. Its a great future classic.

@@TAYM I have to change my Thruxton as i live in the country in West Australia. Roads are nainly just straight with bumpy surface. I also gave a 1900 Roadliner which is more suitable for where i live. When i visit the coast the Thruxton is in its element on windy narrow roads with great scenery.
@@tiggy2756 Thruxton is sorted in regards fuelling. I gave it 3 treatments of chrom moly injector treatment. Ive done 6000bmore kms on it in 6 months. It seems run in now. The bike plays up in sports and road mode in traffic so i go to rain mode and it behaves itself. There is a problem with the throttle regarding fly by wire. Had big issue with wiring and a round ball magnet fell off the kickstand and bike would not start as it sense kickstand was always down. Nearest dealer was 300 KMS away but after $A800 and 5 hours labour and being away from home for days it was all fixed.
I ride my little Classic 350 very sedately, but if I had that, I'd turn into a hooligan overnight! what a super bike, what a super video! thank you for sharing the experience 😁
I HAD THE PEAL WHITE 1 FOR 2 YEARS I loved it! But after 15 years ON A SPORT BIKE IT JUST DIDNT REDLINE HIGH ENOUGH FOR ME! The latest version has an extra 600rpm, THAT'S NOT ENOUGH in any case you will love the bike overall. That's the only thing I can say negative about it it shuts down at 8k, it really was such a nice bike 6 months researching & I finally said ok im 60 years old now its getting harder & harder to crouch in on a full sport this will be more comfy & maybe I can still do the really long rides here in So California, it was great in canyons, great in mountains, great in heat & cold & even with a 160 rear it still held well of course in full max hard in the Ohlin's, BUT I JUST HAD TO GET BACK TO MY CBR 1k & SUFFER THE GROIN & KNEES I NEED MY 14k RED LINES!!
Marvellous, i know what you mean, in my youth i was all about two strokes or multi cylinder machines. On my race bikes if you didnt slip the clutch beyond 10k it stalled😂😂😂
Triumphs are well suited to British roads, I have a blade and very rarely have a road to rev it out. Our roads are shit compared to yours…potholes and traffic everywhere. Never ride my blade always chose my speed triple as it revs out a bit sooner but delivers a great, more usable midrange. If I was riding canyons as you probably do…I’d chose the blade everyday!
A Triumph that barks🐶 and burbles 👶. Thruxtabulous ! One of the joys of the 1960s Triumphs,Nortons and Beesas🐝 was the wonderful exhaust notes. You could always tell what make of bike was coming down the road even before you saw it .🤓 Delicious Decibels 🎺 I like a bike that talks to you , especially if it gets mad and snarls at all the cagers and tries to bite cyclists 🚴🐕. You didn't test the bike for The Fillingham🦤 Effect , now we won't know how far it can blow gloves 👉👉 with that lovely exhaust📯. There once was a mutterer smitten, By a Triumph that had lost it's kitten, He roared far and wide, Across the Suffolk countryside, A "Ton up Boy" burning up the byways of Britain. A Thruxton a day keeps dementia away !🤣
you know I'd almost put up with the neck ache for that, gorgeous bike. Lovely sound, the overrun reminds me of Myrtle. I hope Paddington doesn't find out about this!
I smoothed mine out by putting a 37 t rear sprocket on it. Rain mode is good in traffic on mine, sports is a bit lively and get lots of exhaust popping....which is likely rich fuel Sports on open road if you are thrashing it, as it needs revs to get going
@@TAYM Mine is a 2016. Bought it 3 or 4 months ago, full of upgrades. Only had done 2700 kms...1600 miles. It has vince hines Triumph exhausts. Does not have a power commander. It needed efi cleanout twice. The throttle will apply sometimes even when fully shut off. It also is a bike that runs hot. This is Australia, its often hot or warm all the time. If im ever in traffic....hardly ever.....i use rain mode. I had a 600 tt Triumph , that had low speed fuelling issues. The Thruxton i have is way better. Fuel consumption is 56 to 64 mpg. Which is great, my zx14R was 25 mpg when being naughty.

I get the distinct impression that you rather like this motorcycle ! What a splendiferous soundtrack, which my Interceptor could possibly imitate if I took the baffles out of the Scorpions, however the extra 550cc’s would have the edge on the boom through those V & H exhaust’s. I actually prefer the look (and suitability for me) of the Speed Twin, similar engine, in a more knackered hip and arthritic shoulder friendly package. Really enjoyed your enthusiasm, thanks for making this video.
Must've missed this one - so you HAVE ridden the Thruxton! The only bike I've heard you so excited over is the Mandelo...just need you to try out the Duc 950s and you'll have tried the top 3 candidates for my next bike. Probably won't have solved my choice problem though. Still, enjoyable vid, thanks.

American guy's missus reckoned it a comfy touring pillion also. 110hp and more upright than a Panigale. Made in Italy, Stowmarket, Suffolk M/Cs Ipswich, Vindis, Cambridge, Moto V, Chelmsford...google Ducati Suffolk!

Blimey cobber Google a bit will ya!🙂, bhp 96bhp, top speed 135mph, the reason it goes so well is the torque 112Nm, I’ve had one for a couple of years terrific bike, top tip ditch the stock front for something sportier such as a Pirelli Diablo, it really improves the drop in 👍

That was wonderful and it could be addictive. It is faster than a Royal Enfield and I like it better than the Arr Arr. But what if a snake crossed the road in front of me, or an elephant?
@@TAYM Wild elephants in the national park nearby actually get quite cross with loud motorbikes. They will try to trample them if they get a chance. There is a clip or two on RUclips. I am probably safe around the farmland though. I just have snakes, dogs and chickens to watch out for.

Also saw another one with low km slightly older with aftermarket headers & cans both bikes priced really good & was tempted but my back not up to cafe bikes that's why I got Interceptor over Gt.Older Triumph stock pipes are singled skin as new one's are double skinned to stay shiny like stock Royal Enfield's & heavier & Euro 5. Try a Speedmaster for us bad back blokes 😂🤣.
Mate works in bike shop & sells Hanway 125cc Scrambler with knobbleys & be a great farm & high country cruiser or river track trooper. $3350nz so £1900 new with warranty & road legal & farm rego eligible.Discs front & rear,fuel injected,110kg & a heap of fun.
The Thruxton 900 with custom pipes was 10knz £6000 15,000km & the later model 2014 stock 900 with 9000km was $12000nz £7000 which is really great prices in NZ 🇳🇿. I didn't know Vance & Hines did R.E650 headers.I got 45mm S&S race only slip on's with the baffles out & it crackles & pop & mate here's me coming a block away😂🤣. Not as good a burble as this YET as I still got stock Headers with a cat & are 3.9kg heavier than the 2-2 Headers I want.R.E650 have a cat in header under foot peg & one in the muffler. I am getting Ausie company Exhaust specialists that make a standard 38mm header & a special order 45mm header pipe to do me the Special order 45mm.Been in contact with them & asked if they do me 44.5mm straight through to match my 45mm S&S slip on's instead of the swagged 38.5mm end no gaskets to fit most 41mm mufflers.They said they'll do it next time 45mm pipe bender set up & are keen to see their 44.5mm brushed headers & my brushed S&S race only slip on's.Brushed easy to clean too. Headers postage from Ausie is $70 & Headers postage from UK is £168 $300nz.Tec 2-2 only cost £188 🤣but TEC shite & would prefer Hitchcocks at £299. Verex is top brand in our part of the world & people wanted the 44.5mm not the Phhhhttt 38mm which slide right into 41mm I will be 44.5mm slightly reduced to 42.5mm to slide into my 45mm S&S slip on's. It's gana sound super throaty & put baffles in probably so it not so loud as it is throaty now with baffles out & is loud as🤬 & after 1hr ear's need rest😁😂🤣🤣🤣.I won't tell the Harley boy's & see how much they gap me from intersections when they open it up & see if they notice 😁😂😂🤣🤣🤣.
