If you are a fan of the Triumph Thruxton 1200, you will love this video.
Because it is about one of the most beautiful Thruxton 1200 I've ever seen.
This project's approach, is simply brilliant.
A perfect example, of the "trial error" method.
It was customized by 'Saigon Classic Garage', located in Vietnam.
All changes were designed by the owner, Quang Que chan, who is also a member of Saigon Classic Motorcycles Club.

I have found that a number of cafe racer customs that are very appealing to me have lengthened swing arms. I think it gives the illusion of squatting low to the ground in an aggressive cat like fashion. The same effect is obviously achieved when a bike's suspension is actually lowered but with the longer swing arm you gain the aesthetic without any compromise to the suspension. Kind regards. 🇨🇦
Thank you my friend for sharing your perspective. This is probably because today's bikes are slightly shorter than they were in the past, giving them more agility. But aesthetically, a few extra centimeters in the wheelbase, make a big difference for the better. :) Cheers

Eine wirklich wunderschönes Interpretation der triumph Thruxton RX .... sensationell und gefällt mir so gut.
It is 70 years since the Vietnamese triumph over the French colonialists in Điện Biên Phủ, I wanted to remember it because although this channel does not deal with political issues, it is something that happened using the ingenuity and strength of a noble people. Now they are embarking on building an economy that works and generates wealth. I like it. I really like this project that has seen three rebirths; All three are spot on, although I must say that I am going through a "white cycle" although my favorite motorcycle color is black: the first version caught my eye instantly. That fairing is super cool and gives it a beautiful vintage flavor. The final version is very good but the first one made my heart pump faster. Great bike, great builder and great country!

The amount of detail he has achieved is incredible. Often, it’s the little things that are most impressive. He certainly chose the right color! Very beautiful and the nicest Thruxton that I have seen. And, as always, thank you for Racer TV, the Café Racers only choice! Hope all is well with you. Ride safe my friend!
I forgot to mention in this video that the exhausts also play an important role in the aesthetics of this bike. If you look closely, you'll see that the exhausts give the engine more volume, and bring the bike closer to the ground. This project was really well thought out. Longer swingarm has always been my imaginary solution for getting aesthetics looks without cutting the original frame. Really good project. I love how badass this projects turns out. By the way, did anyone mention you forgot to provide the exhaust sound?

Maravillosa modificación deThruxton , gran gusto el de Quang Quy Tran por másque no termino de ver esos biselados en las tapas de motor, la verdad; y aunque la ganancia estética con el alargamiento de basculante se admite ...¿no la volverá muy torpe, muy "tentetieso"? cuando la distancia entre ejes inicial de 1.415 y un peso que tampoco iba muy disparado la proponían bastante perfomante y obediente....? También extraordinaria la Indian Scout de neumáticos de pared blanca en 8:15
One thing I have never understood is why people put off road tires on what is very clearly an asphalt only motorcycle. I ride a KTM 790 Adventure and actually use that type of tire for off highway adventuring. On asphalt the increased rolling resistance those tires get me less MPG and less top speed. Do these guys not understand that? The Cafe Racer clip on's would make off road riding miserable. Also the low pipes would get crushed in most of the dirt "roads" that we ride on.
Everything you said is correct.
But from what I've seen, almost all of the friends and road companions of the owner of this Triumph, use this type of tire.
This means they know something that the two of us don't know.
But from what I saw in some photos, it is relatively common for them to use dirt roads in Vietnam.
I've already had to ride my Honda CX(With proper tires) on a dirt road, and I can say it's scary. :( Cheers.

@@donparker1823many road in Vietnam are not well developed and traffic is heavy all the time, so if you're traveling person, off road tires is very useful.
In Vietnam maybe make sense, but here in europe is full of bikers with Clip ons and offroad Tires... It just suck and makes no sense 😅

At the beginning of your presentations, I always wait for those wonderful words.. "Welcome to Racer TV".. I've been a subscriber for quite some time, and if I were to offer a suggestion, it is this.. I'm sure many of us, if not all, would love to have a bit more time dedicated to the SOUND of the bikes! I'm guessing this is not always possible, but if there were one improvement to the presentations, there is my input. Love ALL of Your Work!

In my first videos, I always tried (when possible) to have a sequence with just the sound of the engine, and with the bike traveling on the road. But over the years, I detected that these were the moments in the video with the shortest viewing time. For some reason that I don't understand, it seems that the followers of this channel are more interested in listening to the narration than the sound of the engine. But I will never stop presenting a few seconds with the sound of the motorbike.
Unfortunately, on this particular bike, there was no sequence with just the roar of the engine. :)

I own a Thruxton 1200 R myself and a friend of mine always tells me that the bike is too small for my stature (I'm 187cm tall). This modification to the longer rear swingarm would solve the problem. 👍

A moto é linda e percebi que trocou o braço oscilante por conta da estética, gosto muito de café racer e as suas derivações custom, más não teria feito essa modificação do braço oscilante por causa da agilidade que se perdeu com o entre eixos mais longo.

any negatives of having the rear suspension installed upside down?
I really don't see nothing against it. The entire hydraulic mechanism is sealed within the shock absorber, meaning gravity is irrelevant to the internal workings of the shock absorber. An example of this, are inverted suspension hoses, although here you need reinforced seals to avoid oil leaks. :) Cheers.

I think the factory proportions are better, the swingarm is too long and the geometry is likely way off now, would like to see a track comparison.
As a finishing touch, try 18" wheels.

bei 4min. und 40sec. die bild überlagerung "unterstellt" das der lenkkopfwinkel geändert wurde - ist das der fall ?
klar viele hier vorgestellten moped's sind sehenswert aber ich gewinne immer mehr dat gefühl das gemogelt wird !
winkel verstellung im steuerkopf wenn die passung dafür nicht ausreicht bringt ne'rahmenveränderung mitsich ...wenige moped rahmen sind dafür ausgelegt und zugelassen zumal das schon bei landstraßen geschwindigkeit sehr gefährlich / unfahrbar wird !!!

Ich habe mir das Video des Übergangs zwischen Vorher und Nachher angesehen. Ehrlich gesagt glaube ich, dass sich der Lenkneigungswinkel nicht geändert hat.
Ich muss klarstellen, dass es manchmal zu einer gewissen Verzerrung des Kameraobjektivs kommt, die daher den Eindruck einer Änderung des Spanwinkels hervorrufen kann. :) Cheers.

I use this "robotic" voice created by software, because I'm Portuguese, and my bad English accent (and voice), can ruin the documentary character that I like for my videos. I already tried a real British voice in one of my videos, and, surprisingly, almost everyone hated it. Cheers
