I have found that the more i lay off sweets, the sweeter other food tastes to me. You can train your tastebuds
You can train yourself to appreciate other flavors. Black coffee, instead of Starbucks. Steak and potatoes instead of Pizza Hut. Fruit instead of gummy worms. It's hard, but simple.
I’m nutrition guy and yeah, start small and you will get “shocked” from the produce, veggies or fruit, so best to start the journey slow so it lasts longer
Black Coffee. I love coffee and having black makes me so sad. I can do the fruits and home food instead of take out.
I trained myself to be okay with drinking black coffee, when fasting. I've gotten better with sugar consumption but I still always crave it. One day at a time... lol
@@impeccableshoegame7029 exactly, small steps lead to large leaps
Nope
I always appreciate Al’s perspective. This is definitely something I deal with. Ups and downs with it. I definitely tell a difference with a clean diet.
Wow, timely video! Thanks!
This is really true. I quit refined sugar four months ago and lost 10 kg 💪🏻

Al love your videos they are so upbeat my questiion is are there any exercises to strengthen and prepare my knee joint for a return to jogging 🏃♀️ tanx ed
Good advice.
What I have found out is this:
1) Craving for sweat taste is often just a side effect of thirst. And also note that a sour taste can often satisfy your appetite. Next time you have a sugar craving, promise yourself, that you can eat it after you drink a pint of tap water with freshly squeezed lemon juice. And if you drink it, you can have your candy. Most of the time I find out that I don't want to eat sugar after that drink at all.
2) Eat lots of berries. Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries are all allowed to you. For a moment, do not think about the price and eat any amount of them (without adding sugar of course!) Really, as much as you want. I found that eating berries satisfies my cravings and they are all superfoods with actually low amounts of calories. Just beware of dried berries as sugar is often added to those by food makers. Eat them fresh.
3) Add very finely mixed/chopped carrots to your red sauces and stews. It is amazing how much healthy sweet taste can be gained just from carrots mixed to a consistency that is barely visible in your food. You are getting tons of vitamins, minerals, and fiber this way without completely giving up the sweet taste. The sauces also get naturally thickend by this, reducing the need for flour or starch thickening.
4) The most important thing? Keep your newly gained habits FOR AT LEAST THREE WEEKS. After three weeks, your brain gets used to the new lifestyle and most of your cravings and addictions are gone. After that, eating healthy stops being a matter of willpower and becomes completely natural for you, without struggling.
A wilford brimley reference and spot on nutrition? Never change, Al, never change
You are great man
Thanks!😇
Hi AL many times I have fell off the wagon where my diet is concerned but I never give up and after a few days iam back in action and feeling good .At 66 I can still do 100 consecutive jumping Jack's and my BP is 120 / 80 . Spo2 is 98 % so iam feeling good so if I eat the occasional chocolate bar or go to McDonald's I get back to business the next day . THE SECRET IS NEVER GIVE UP AND KEEP A POSITIVE ATTITUDE.
Agree.
You're more shredded than last time 🤟🤟🤟
Amen.
You are the best man
Hi Al! What do you think about burpees. I haven't seen any video with your opinion about burpees.
HeiHeiHei, Al, is coffee bad for exercising?I'm a huge fan of coffee, however, when it comes to dopamine kick it gives to me, after consumation-I don't have that craving for natural dopamine(in forms of exercising)any more. The same comes with sugar. What is to be done? Thanks.
I like this guy
ice barrel? that sounds rad.
Al, how do i fix my muscle imbalance? I had an... Addiction per say, which caused my muscle imbalance. Any help is appreciated.😁
Sir, what are your thoughts on date sugar?
Hello! Are you the author of the book The convict conditioning?
Awesome video my friend! How frequent do you take ice baths?
I take an ice bath or acold shower pretty much every day
@@alkavadlo awesome! Started yesterday with daily cold water exposure, hyped for the recovery gains! Thanks for the response! 🤙

Eating almonds that’s how I did it and worked for myself . L87 WORKOUT 👍
Hey AL, I've been working my way through your Old Man Strength program, and I was wondering, once I've completed the program, what's next? Do I rinse and repeat, or would you recommend a different plan to help me to continue to make progress and beat back Father Time?
Hey hey hey! This question is actually answered in the book at the end of Module 3 😀👊
Why did I think this guy would have an Aussie accent? 😂
Should I worry over my Sriracha? Sugar is the second ingredient, but it also states "less than 1g" of sugar... Though serving size is a teaspoon so I dunno here.
Everything is a trade-off. I go out of my way to avoid sugary sauces like sriracha but there are certainly worse things you could be consuming...
I use agave and sugar rx, honey is also good and putting lemon in water for added flavor, it’s usually people’s perceptive instead of their palate that makes them not stick to a diet
why not just use regular hot sauce? no sugar in that.
@@rinkuhero I do that too, but I like to change hot sauces up once in a while.
@@kni9ghtagave is as damaging as high fructose corn syrup.
Insulin response is the culprit with all types of sugar consumption, regardless of if the sugar comes from a strawberry or an Oreo.
Do you consume real honey?
Jeff Nippard recently made a video about ways to increase metabolism and argued that cold baths are not very useful for this purpose. Are there any scientific evidences supporting this?
Here's one: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3895006/
@@alkavadlo thanks i am going to read that !
@@ToninInTheSubway i read it out of curiosity. the main issue is that the study was done on mice, plus they were immersed in cold water for 1 to 8 hours each day. when most people take ice baths they aren't sitting in it for an hour, let alone for 8 hours. i imagine that if you are willing to sit in ice cold water for several hours a day, the shivering would definitely burn a lot of calories. but a lot of people just do it for 5 minutes or something, it's not going to be effective if it's that quick. the study also said the mice didn't even lose weight, because they just increased caloric consumption to compensate, the more hours they were in freezing water, the more they ate.
@@rinkuhero Your analysis is truly very interesting. Indeed, it is necessary to remain vigilant regarding the conclusions of certain studies, which are sometimes biased or misinterpreted. Consequently, I am curious to know if Al will respond to your arguments...
Im eating too much white bread, its my guilty pleasure
put some sugar on it for extra taste
Try the low carb options, aka keto bread. Lewis bakeries healthy choice Hawaiian keto bread doesn't taste like it's missing anything.
The human physiology does not require carbohydrates, only fats and proteins. What does that tell you?
Your brain and blood require carbs
That tells me there is a big difference between merely surviving and living at maximum performance. Good luck naming pro bodybuilders or NFL players who don't eat carbs.

1st video I’ve ever seen from him. It’s like the ex-con version of Bill Nye. I dig it 👍
Over time the sugar cravings go away
There is no "sugar addiction". It`s carb addiction. Eliminate carbs completely (or bring them down to maybe 5%), and the addiction will be forgotten after a week.
You clean and wax the car Put on some spoilers Get some cool trim Then fill the tank with sugar Dude, you ain’t going places but damn you look great
Your body needs sugar. Therefore, we can't stay away from it.
That’s why I recommend eating fruit. But cakes, pies, sodas, candy bars, etc. have no place in a healthy diet.
@alkavadlo if you're working out, fruits would not be the only food to consume. You need carbs before and after workout.
Your body prefers to burn fat not sugar, the liver makes sugar you dont need to consume sugar or carbs consume more meat n fat for optimal health
@alhavana9426 but your muscles need sugar for energy during workout.
